I hear you Chiolas but so, what about people who can only play at night or morning?
There is still the problem that they – who often fight undefended keeps or way lesser numbers – are rewarded in the same way as people who fight against other players during primetime, and thus are more effective by making a lesser effort, that is just not fair

So blame, spit, insult A.net but don’t toss the stone to VS because it adapts to the game A.net gave us.
I’m not, I’m just focusing VS ingame (well I would be if I played), I do not aprove all the flaming that is going on here… but I understand it (tho I think it’s wrong), since VS is know to nightcap SINCE EVER (in the opinion of many: abusing a flawed system) and many don’t like VS because of that
Like you said, you want to play when you want so why other people wouldn’t be able to do same thing as you, even if it’s night/morning?.
I never said they couldn’t, I’m just saying it’s not fair that they work less then us (assuming: 1) setting your alarm clock and waking up early is not work; 2) fighting against NPC’s+walls and gates+no enemies is not work; 3) holding those keeps against unexisting enemies is not work) yet their actions are rewarded in the same way as ours, who fight, kill and get killed, during primetime. The actions of a small group that faces no enemies are more rewarding, easy and effective than the action of a big group that faces an equally big group. That’s just bs

Hardcore 24/7 according to Anet and VS, not according to most people. We, the community, should be important in deciding the rules of the game. However, Anet continues to deny the “timezone-unbalance” is a problem
We are not saying ppl can’t play during the night, they have every right to. We are just saying that it makes no sense that those people – who don’t really fight against other players – get the same rewards (point ticks) than those who kill and get killed by other players. Currently, not doing PvP is more rewarding than doing PvP. A server who wants to be good just has to wake up and play when the enemy isn’t playing
Everyone gets rewarded in the same way regardless of their effort, that’s communism and history proves it’s a bad idea
Ethier already said it, we don’t like that we have to morningcap, the game becomes a job like this.
I won’t play during the night, I won’t miss out on my sleep, I won’t skip work during the day, I play the game when I want, not the other way around, the game doesn’t get to play me. I can’t however blame most of SFR for doing heavy morningcapping to counter VS, you have done since day 1, we’ve done it for the past 2 weeks because we’re sick of that coward’s way of winning
In the unlikely event that SFR keeps doing morning-capping if VS goes down, I will still say this for the sake of competitive playing…

tl;dr it’d be awesome to have a competitive WvW league but right now it’s impossible since the servers are so unbalanced and population/coverage decides the victor. If my T1 server fights a T3 server it’d be overkill, not to mention all the others

You are intentionally misreading it.
Many people do it when it comes to losing their spotlight. People who play at odd-hours are not more important then the ones who play during primetime, they shouldn’t be better rewarded.
This idea was already proposed several times but it was always ignored (like said here: ppl misread it/a moderator closed it saying “GW2 is a global game”, while the people who actually do PvP and not PvD are not rewarded accordingly)
I would like to fight a T5 server, I’m sure they can have good players, being in T5 doesn’t mean your players or guilds are bad.
However, SFR is “stuck” fighting in T1/T2 until the server collapses (apparently that’s Anets objective, servers collapsing…).
Matchup rotation is impossible because atm we have this idiot “the server with more people/better coverage wins YOLO”.
I won’t change servers, I already have one and am happy with the people here, we’ve worked hard to estabilish a profitable system in our server and many of us won’t abandon it.
I would like to play once or twice against all servers in a competitive league, but it’s impossible atm.
Free transfers should be opened before they implemented this system tho, servers would finally become more balanced=less superservers=less queues=more happy people=more potential customers
Of course this system could be exploited, but the current system is already being exploited by the people who play against less enemies.
Plus, you are forgetting one of the main characteristics of WvW: it’s casual. Most people will play when they want to play.
Sure there will be guilds who will mass-log out when faced with defeat to minimize the damage, but most people won’t just stop playing for something so shallow (also, points will keep ticking, only at a lower rate).
Most people come home from work, they are tired and just want to blow of some steam in WvW, there’s no way some carebears (yes, I’m using the same word we use to describe PvErs, sue me) will stop them from doing that
As I’ve said before, the ladder wasn’t supposed to be a reward, but everyone likes to be #1 so it’s a reward, deal with it.
I’m not saying this might be an issue, I’m saying this is an issue. People will leave the game once they realize their efforts in actual PvP are countered by the efforts of a small amount of people in PvD. Maybe not right now because GW2 is still the best mass-PvP game out there, but it’s only a matter of time until other “WvW” games enter the market.

- I predict WvW will continue to be unbalanced, the more populated servers will continue to dominate and coverage will remain the main virtue of a winning server. Meanwhile Anet will keep ignoring this pink elephant in the room and say WvW is fine as it is. I will continue not to fight a T5 server, but that’s ok because they are obviously bad players, otherwise they would evolve and multiply

No one said that, you can still help your server. You can still capture stuff, you can still reinforce stuff, you can still get points for your team and you can still kill stuff.
Stop pretending to be a victim. For some reason that no one cares about you don’t play when most people are playing, therefore you shouldn’t be rewarded as most people, it makes sense. Unless you’re a communist anyway…
The ladder shouldn’t be a reward but it is so just deal with it. Everyone loves to be #1 and to have bragging rights.

sPvP is a football game, WvW is a gang war.
No, that’s what Anet thinks and so desperately wants.
We, the community, are supposed to be a core component in this game and because many people we love WvW (the WvW numbers exceed their expectation AFAIK) they should work to satisfy that big market, but so far Anet refused to acknowledge this problem that is slowly but surely driving people away. Maybe they’ll stop denying it when we all stop playing.

Also, they say they want WvW to be for casuals. Well with the final score being dominated by the server that has more players, the players who still come out and fight are the hardcore ones who love WvW, not the casual players…
Anet sees WvW as PvX, so players doing PvE during the night are rewarded in the same way as players doing actual PvP. Imo this won’t cut it because it’s unfair and a lot of players are getting tired and will eventually leave.
Then the work of the 5,000 on the other side would be wiped out by the 5,000 on the NA side simple because they play on this side of the ocean
It would be countered, not wiped. Their effort would still be worth something. This is PvP, when one side scores the other side responds, this isn’t easymode PvE where all one does is grind and gather points.
Look at T1 EU as the OP says, no one wants to fight against Vizunah because most times the final result is decided by the night, non-PvP crew, resulting in demotivation during the time most people can play. Yes, servers like Desolation, Piken or SFR adapted and roflstomp Vizunah groups in fights, but in the end the night crew still wins the game. Not to mention that when SFR got a NA guild (PRX) Vizunah cried “THAT’S UNFAIR!” and PRX left labelled as the “dirty little nightcappers”.

Shutting down WvW during certain times is dictatorial, making ticks count less during certain times is also dictatorial, merging EU and NA is not practical and unwanted. The only real solution is to base score ticking on the amount of people online from all three sides (it could be exploited yes, but it’s still better then the current unrewarding system)

I’m from SFR so I fought Vizunah in T1 a lot, I can vouch for the fact that they don’t have many canadians (nor 10 hour difference), they have a lot of people playing during the day too. During the night they just rotate one large zerg (w/o many ccanadians, just french “zombies”) across the maps
What is silly is that the work done by some people during the night in PvD is rewarded in the same way as the work done during primetime in actual balanced PvP, but Anet already said they don’t care and they are supported by all the successful communist systems in the world.

Almost any arrowcart on top of walls is useless since it easily gets blown up by AoE (assuming that the person manning it doesn’t run after being nuked too), so yes I kinda agree
Since I stopped having a guild my badge drop rate went down from a lot to almost none, so I say it has to do with having your guild around when you kill enemies

Apparently 3 people playing at offhours for 10 hours (30 man hours) is a lot more effective than 10 people playing for 3 hours( 30 man hours) according to the points systems.

EDIT: as for nightcapping… apparently Anet and almost everyone is ok with players who do PvDoor being rewarded in the same way as players that do actual PvP. I just deal with it since I’m there to kill people

That being said, while we still have worlds that consistently have open spots for more players, it would be fantastic if some players out there could help us spread the WvW population out a bit so we don’t have a few heavily stacked populations facing large queues on some worlds while many other worlds still have room to support people.

Ideally, we would see some people move from worlds with extreme queue times to worlds that need additional people and start building up active wvw communities there as well. Having more worlds with heavily active populations in WvW will be a very good thing for the long term health of the game, and spreading out the population will help reduce the queue times on the worlds with the longest queues.
I detect several problems here:
1- You removed free transfers so your request is a bit late :P
2- Not speaking for myself because I’m “SFR born and raised” and it’s unlikely that I leave, but I’d also like to see population spreading out. The main problem I see is that we don’t have any reliable information on the server’s population. As an extreme example, EU’s Blacktide is currently dead regarding WvW, however it shows as “Very High” or “Full” in the world selection only because of PvE. If people transferred there then that could mean there’s a very big PvE population or a big and clueless WvW population, we have no way to know. AFAIK Planetside2 releases that kind of information and it works.
2.1 – In this case, priority in the queue for regular WvWers would be a must, otherwise the PvE folk would clog up the maps when the server is winning (thanks to the real WvWers) and abandon them when the server is losing. No real WvWer wants team mates with such low dedication, so they won’t transfer at all if they know they can get stuck in the queue just because the PvEers are bored and want to do the jumping puzzle
3- Still about the population spreading out… Currently the winner/T1 is the server with more people. The game right now disencourages population spreading because: 1) game mechanics favour the most numerous side, not much to say here as you’ll just have to slowly work it out; 2) the Outmanned buff is a joke; 3) It’s a fact that no one should be stopped from playing regardless the time, but in my opinion it’s ridiculous that the effort of someone that fights empty keeps is rewarded in the same way as the effort of someone fighting equal or bigger numbers, that only encourages servers to get as many people as possible, not to spread the population as you intend.

You can’t guest in WvW tho, so my advice would be to ask around for an invite to SFR (Seafarer’s Academy) or a WvW-driven guild. Also, you should join our website (www.pevepe.net) and TeamSpeak3 server

For what it’s worth, there’s an easy fix to this if anyone is interested:
Just use resource weighting to adjust the PPT. At any given time the highest population is considered to be 100% value.
Server A has 100 people, server B has 25 and server C has 35:
Anything held by servers B & C are worth full point values (100%)
Anything held by server A is worth an average of server B and C resource weight (30%, I used round numbers to make the example easy to follow).
So when the 15 minute countdown to the next point tally comes, everyone logs out quick to make sure we get full value … what an improvement.
It would still be better then the unrewarding system we have right now…
How about if a keep is conquered by 60 ppl vs no defenders it ticks for less then normal?
The effort made by people that fight doors is rewarded in the same way as the effort made by people fighting other people, all we need now is the communist symbol and some bears in unicycles

Valley Keep in EB bugged hacked by a VS thief, the north gate is shaking as if someone was hitting it but no one is there (it’s receiving damage), therefore the waypoint is almost always contested, proof

Once again, I welcome the chance to prove to you why you should leave duelers alone. A non-dueler doesn’t stand a chance vs someone who practices hours a day in 1v1 combat vs a variety of classes/builds.
You will quickly find yourself outmatched and in a 1v1, because no dueler will assist someone who just added in on their fight.
TL:DR- Please, by all means, add in. ^.^

This is the WvW forum, not the PvE
I think there is no despawn timer on siege weapons except trebs and golems, that was changed since the wiki days and some Anet guys – that don’t even play WvW or GW2 it seems – continued saying that
Defensive siege stays indefinitely inside a keep, and I’m pretty sure the isn’t a wacko refreshing the timers every 30 minutes (and on the siege built in remote locations). Not to mention the allmighty flame rams

- 24/7 : It’s the same for everyone > Fair (even if u are being beaten real bad)
- Coverage : Not the same for everyone FR/DE/ES limited by the language> Unfair
