oh, it was already suggested?
they should have a sticky thread with all the suggestions they’r taking account of
so people like me could check be4 posting!!
it would be nice if we could make our character move and do stuff in the “Preview item” window so we can see how the armor/weapons are going to look in its full potential
usually offhands and/or small weapons like daggers and pistols, get hidden under the armor and we cant really see how they look like
it would be nice if u could make your character act like if it was in combat mode on the preview window
not to mention that, in my case, my asura lift its ears when its in combat mode, so some helmets might change looks or something (racial asuran helmet)
and would be really nice to know be4 spending tons of gold on it!
What’s Plinx? i wanna farm
i think you guys are refering to, Lag!
i dont see any problems with the multi guild feature!
i mean if you have been leading a guild for 10 years, im pretty sure you must have a website/voice chat server, and stuff, along with a pretty “big” playerbase, right?
just make the guild with those people that, im guessing, should be loyal to your guild
if some1 just doesnt like your guild would either leave, or not talk to anybody, and wont even care to know the people so it would be as usefull as not having him there anyways
Guild Loyalty doesnt come from being a part of a guild for “x” or “y” or from “what this guild can give me?”, it comes from within each player, the player that join a guild because the guild offers “this” or “that” are not going to be loyal, once the guild fails to offer him something he wants, he would just leave
that’s in this game, or any other game, why would they stay if the guild is no longer providing anything worth for them?
this guild system actually puts more value into the social stuff, rather than guild benefits, people would stay in a guild if they actually find players they can talk to and play with, not just because the guild is gnna offer buffs or banks, because any other guild can offer that too, but the social value is rarer to find!
some players are more loyal than others, some dont even Care about it (like the player in your example)
but the multi guild system has nothing to do with it!
I noticed this too with my mesmer, and it only happens against the skeleton archers for some reason. Usually when I’m trying to cast Mirror Blade or Phantasmal Berserker, or some of the Sword/Pistol skills. It’s really annoying especially against them during the mob events with all skeleton archers, usually means I end up dead because I get stuck in this “bow and arrow” animation.
:(
Edit: I should also note I don’t trait to reflect projectiles, I’m not sure exactly what causes it. I’ve never waited for the bow animation to play out like ConterK did here (just figured it’d do nothing at all). Interesting that it causes damage lol. Really strange.
Yeah is like literally “reflecting” what the archer is doing! rofl
Can’t wait to see how X-mas events are going to be -
i agree!! 20 illusions mind-wrack would be super fun!
imaging a 20 illusions distortion, -
or 20 illusions cry of frustration!! roflmao 20 stacks of confusion XD
ok, video is up! xd
This is an odd Bug i found out earlier today!
never seen this happening be4, and havent happened with any other monster so far, only with the Skeleton archers
Im not sure if its only on Mesmers or Asuras, so i posted it in general bug section!
It looks kinda funny, but is pretty annoying having your character stop casting something for doing this animation, -_-
and not just that, my phantasm would stop casting his reflect to cast the attack animation too!
PS: Video uploading, will be up in a couple of mins
(edited by ConterK.3972)
so, i was lvling my human thief
and i found out one of the story characters that help me is a mesmer, but is like 100 times more powerfull than normal mesmers!!
look at this BS!!
she spawmed like 20 phantasms at once,
Anet, Y U NO GIVE MESMERS THIS ABILITY?
and she can also transform allies and disguise them into something else!
if someone doesnt sPVP because it doesnt “lvl up your character”
means they dont really like PvP, they just like to stomp lowbies and less geared people or Zerg to win (WvW)!!
i actually think is pretty awesome rofl!
so you guys want this to be a Cash Shoppers game?
cool story bro!
that sounds all nice and cute, but yeah
next week when u get matched with other zerg servers, half of your server is gonna jump out and leave your server to go to the winner side.
what u mean Final Event?
is there an event currently going on? beside all the updates and stuff??
u can duel people from other servers?
or do we need to transfer to anvil rock??
What BishopX said. Personally, i’m done with pvp in this game until thieves and mesmers are balanced. This kitten is out of control…every match is overrun with those two classes, and its getting ridiculous.
what about the bunkers??
isnt that the last trend topic complain in spvp??
roflmao, bad players are so cute
Bots are botting for the dinamy events, not the mob loots!
the thing is not that is 1/4 of the achievment,
the problem comes that, if u dont complete it, u dont get the monthly reward,
what if its something like the 500 salvaged items?
mayb, find 500 of X items or something crazy like that ._.
Lol so we only gonna have 1 week to complete a Monthly achievement? ._.
so, what’s up with the monthly achievment that used to be 100k exp?
is been bugged for like 3 weeks now (showing a couple of “????” instead of the normal text) and i cant complete and get my rewards from the monthly achievment list!
any ideas?
@ ContorK
“-_-
why nobody test dmg on TRaining Golems??”Training golems dont provoke us like bunnies and racoons do.
Hahahahaha!! true
dam bunnies!!
-_-
why nobody test dmg on TRaining Golems??
Guys, i mean damage on the training Golems
Golems have higher defense than most monsters, im guessing they’r around 2k+
nobody has ever tested hits on them?
this is what i got last night testing it!
but i mean, on the Training golems on the Mists
i know u can hit a loot more on critters, and mayb a lot too on random glass cannon peoples on WvW, but the training golems have something like 2k defense or higher, so the dmg on them is actually lower than the dmg on players
have you guys tried that?
im not sure if ther’s a thread about this already,
but i was lurking on youtube and saw a couple of videos of people’s dmg with 1 single strikes
Warrior/thief, and they were both 19.8k+ on the training golems
has anybody been able to hit that amount on golems? or mayb higher?
HOLY kitten, we have a commander?? (Sorrow’s Furnace)
i though those were fairy tales that only showed up in Lion’s Arch
kittenolol!!
still 10s, op 10s
im using it now, lol!
(edited by ConterK.3972)
well the area is pretty huge,
bigger than most aoe areas
i think only the Ranger AOE rain of arrows can fully hit the whole area
plus u can go in and out while the skill is there, lol
well, being able to stack 10s stealth seems pretty OP,
lol u can just stack it, and follow some1 for a backstab instakill
xD!first you have to stay inside shadow refuge for the duration to get that
second is enemies can see the outlind of shadow refuge, so they know where you are
you can stack the 10s and the run for 10s constantly being stealthed,
lol in a game where the stealth skills are 5s at MAX (being an elite skill)
i find 10s of perma stealth a little too OP, lol
well, being able to stack 10s stealth seems pretty OP,
lol u can just stack it, and follow some1 for a backstab instakill
xD!
im not sure if this is how is meant to be or not, so im just posting it
Shadow refuge is an AOE supportish skill that thiefs have, it heals a small amount of health for you and your allies and is supposed to give 3s of stealth,
what happens with this skill?
the Stealth it gives is stackable, the longer you are inside the area without attacking, the longer u’ll be stealthed
i was able to stack up to 10s of stealth, and then you can add the other stealth skills and the time will keep stacking more and more, im not sure if that’s how its supposed to work, since it seems pretty OP as it is,
u can stack the 10s of stealth and then just run out of the area and still be invisible
Anybody else see something wrong with this?
Retaliation is way too OP, wtf
reflect a thief 18k backstab and he’s dead, lol!
The point in the sPvP in this game is the Fun it might bring you,
if you dont find it Fun, then yeah, you wont find a really good point in it
And LoL is a bad example for that point, in League u can buy runes/rune pages/etc, so is not exactly like GW2
Dota2 could be more like GW2 because u can sustain the game and get only aestetics upgrades and Exp boosts! wich many do already!
dont wait until u’r at 20% hp left to use heal, u never know when u can get bursted down suddenly and die
also, use the dodge button, lol
u pretty much leave heals and dodge only to when u’r almost dead, ._.
Im going to go ahead and make a prediction that your prediction of his prediction being wrong, is right.
this build could be better used for dungeons, since mobs dont back away or run when they’r almost dead
people that are almost dead would just run and stop attacking, making the retaliation not so awesome
plus, if u get focused u wont have deceive or teleport to break stun/ccs to run/survive
it would be hella fun to have retal up and watch a sin 1shot himself with a backstab!! hahahaha
(edited by ConterK.3972)
What u guys mean that u can pre cast CND???
EXPLAIN PLEASEE!! i wnna know them tricks
What is CND? cloak and dagger??
doesnt that has to hit to be able to stealth you? lol
For anyone who does not understand Field of View (FoV), I have an experiment for you to try.
Steps…
1. Run GW2 in windowed mode.
2. Line up the left or right edge of your camera view with the middle of any NPC so that they are somewhat cut off.
3. Squash only the height of your window some. Notice that more of the NPC becomes visible.
4. Squash the height of your window more. Notice even more of the NPC becomes visible if not the entire thing. That is increasing Field of View.Adjusting FoV is similar to holding your hands up and facing them out next to your eyes, then pivoting your hands outward away from your eyes and inward towards your eyes to increase or decease what you see with your peripheral vision. Increasing the FoV is similar pivoting your hands away from your eyes so that you can see more.
That only show how u trade vertical FOV for horizontal FOV
u see more from the top of the screen but less from the sides, just like every1 else said, changing the resolution
and i always play in window mode anyways!
Im gonna think you just didnt paid attention to the videos you linked to me, or you just dont want to/cant understand it!
FOV and Zooming out MIGHT not be the same thing, but they act just like if they were, there’s no “HUGE DIFFERENCE” as you say!!
Have you even tryed zooming out of your character? LOLI’m just one more completely ignorant and painfully oblivious reply away from thinking that you are just an someone who works for ANET that was sent here to troll us and mislead people who know nothing of the subject.
But here, I will try again.
Look at these 3 screenshots.
http://imageshack.us/a/img839/2193/gw015gs.jpg
http://imageshack.us/a/img155/7882/gw014l.jpg
http://imageshack.us/a/img37/2735/gw013wa.jpg
All three screenshots are made with me at the same spot, the same camera placement and same zoom distance!
Look at the top and bottom of the screenshots, notice how the screenshots cut off in the exact same place on top and bottom. Yet the sides are expanded!
DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?
FoV is NOT Zoom, they are completely different things, FoV is about expanding the angle/degree of your vision, while zoom is just simply moving the camera away from the player.
Ohhh and btw, ZOOM is the thing that will allow people to see around corners NOT FoV, Im getting sick and tired of saying the same kitten over and over and different ways trying to make this simple enough for you finally grasp this.
What happens when you zooom out? you dont see more??
Let me ask a simple question: What happens in a dungeon where the camera hits the wall or ceiling very close to your character? Does zoom help you here? kitten no! But a greater FoV will allow you to still maintain perfect overview in dungeons at much closer camera distances.
And what you think would happen if you had a super huge FOV? the camera would just go throw the wall and let you see eveything clearly??
if somehow it does, that’s already an advantage, disapproving the use of a FOV increase program since it gives that advantage in gameplay, lol
but guess what, i dont think it will, your camera would still hit the wall and all the Vision u had will be reduce to a First person POV
True, so as I mentioned before, you want me to buy a new desk to get space enough to move it further back in order to get a overall worse gameplay experience instead of the devs fixing what is broken? As well as me having to constantly move my monitor back and forth when switching between games, yeah, great solution there!
You can sit further away too, (duh!) play on custom resolution, etc
Have you even considered the players that doesn’t even care about this? what would happen if they suddenly change it and they start getting all this “illness” you say you have?
I’ll tell you what really gives players an advantage: A high end computer which can maintain a constant 60+ FPS, a good gaming mouse and keyboard, a 120Hz monitor, a good headset. These things will give you much more of an advantage than increasing FoV ever will, do you want a ban on that too now? Maybe we should remove all graphical and sound options too because tweaking those to optimize your game is unfair to others. Please stop being such a kitten about it, Anet clearly supports higher FoV as proved by them giving me with 3 monitors double the FoV you have while they keep developing and optimizing triple monitor setups.
You clearly havnt play any PVP games that have the need of fast reactions and how much being able to see a little more could save you from a certain dead, i.e: Dota, LoL, CS, MMORPGs with PVP, etc
More than a gaming mouse, 120hz monitor or a “better” headset, being able to see MORE in your screen will actually help you 100 times better than any of the stuff you listed!
How is it you still don’t get it even after watching the video?
Zoom is NOT FoV.
FoV is the degree of the things you see in front of you! Zoom is simply moving the camera further away from the character.
THERE IS HUGE DIFFERENCE!
You don’t understand why this is a problem? Even after watching that video?
The problem is the fact that the people get SICk from this FoV, its been explained so many kitten times, the human eye is just simply no meant to be restricted to such a low FoV, thats why it causes problems for people.
Also, your argument about how it give people an advantage is bull.
YOU and I can go right now to our Nvidia/AMD control panel and create a custom wide screen resolution and get a high FoV, just like the people with 3 monitors!
So the argument that FoV is such a hazard is just pure baloney, ANET already allows high FoV, they just wont allow it on a proper 16:9/16:10 resolutions.
Its a restriction that ANET puts on their player-base for no other reason than the fact that they don’t want to admit that they screwed up, and there is no way that they will concede that they are wrong or that they made a mistake.
Every other excuse is just fluff.
LOL
The examples on the Video are from FPS games, wich you cant really compare with GW2, since in that kind of FPS games you cant just zoom out of your character, but here you can!
I never said there wasnt any problems with it, i just said is fine as it is, and there’s a lot of simple solutions already to it, you just dont like any of them because you wanna waste their time or w/e.
Higher FOV does have huge advantage, try playing Dota2, LoL, CS, or any MMORPG with PVP involved and you’ll understand how being able to SEE more makes you react faster than a person that see Less than you.
Yeah we can create custom resolutions, so there you go, that’s a solution for you “oh so big END OF THE WORLD problem!”
Sure, ANet Made the FOV like this just for the fun of messing with YOU, right?
They’v said so much stuff about what they messed up be4, fixed so many stuff, did a bunch of changes that the players wanted, but sure, they just wont change this because they LOOOVE messing with you, right?
If they dont change it, “fix” it, mayb is because they are looking into it, trying to see what options they have and wich one suits the situation better, they’r not just gonna throw a “quick fix” to find out it is full of bugs and exploits for the players
1, I dont care if they make it bigger, better for me! as i know hw to actually take advantage of more Vision
2, I never had any kind of problems like this, and im using the same resol as every1 else
and i play an Asura, wich is smaller and has “smaller FOV” or w/e
3, If u want a quick fix, ther’s tons of options, you said one yourself
(edited by ConterK.3972)
well i actually read every post now, and the example and stuff
so FoV is just zooming out of your character?? -_-
yeah, that’s what i got from all of this, and yes is a simple thing
I don’t believe you’ve read a kitten thing.
How many times to do people need to point out that FoV is not zoom?
How many examples and videos do we have to post more?
Please watch this video and the second part it.
If you watch this video and still come back with FoV=Zoom, then I don’t even know what to say.
watched them both, and yeah
all he says is how higher FOV = More stuff you can see
wich in THIS game = to longer Zoom out
Min 6:30
“you’r just increasing the amount of information to see”
“More information, same screen size, all things just seem to get smaller”
what happens when u zoom out of your character??
you can see more of the enviorement, u still have the same screen size, things seem to get smaller because u’r further away from them!!
He also “suggest” (he doesnt really suggest it, but thats what i got from the explanation he made comparing 52" Tv using a console at 10 feet away to PC monitor of 30" at 2 feet away)
that another way to fix it is, sitting further away from your monitor, giving your eyes more space for peripheral vision and making it more comfortable for you!
Either way, higher FOV is in Fact and advantage over lower FOV, even if you dont Focus all the things you can see on the monitor, they’r still there, and u would see them if you focus them, that’s an obvious advantage!
plus while u’r focusing the center of the monitor u still have your peripheral view inside your monitors sight, giving you reaction to movement advantage!
PS: tnx for the videos, they were very instructive!
(edited by ConterK.3972)
oh, another advantage
in the same note as be4
players with a higher FOV (longer zoom out option) would be able to watch over walls just by staning close to the wall and move ur camera on top of your character head, with a long enough zoom out, u should be able to see what’s on the other side of a wall, for example on WvW
Here’s a screenshot comparison taken with max zoom:
4:3 (custom resolution 1920×1440) – the lion’s head is clearly visible
[img]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35298245/gw598.jpg[/img]
16:9 (my default resolution 2560×1440) – the lion’s head is cut at the eyes
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35298245/gw597.jpgSorry, I don’t know why the BB code isn’t working
take the screenies both with or without the UI
on the 16:9 u lose vertical FOV but u get more horizontal FOV
shouldnt be that way tho!
well i actually read every post now, and the example and stuff
so FoV is just zooming out of your character?? -_-
yeah, that’s what i got from all of this, and yes is a simple thing
but it can gives you a LOT of advantages over people with a smaller FoV
lol!
i just pressed “Re Pag” and “Av Pag” to increase or reduce it and i always play it at max zoom out, why? because is better, obviously
so if u use a 3rd party program to make it even bigged, yeah it breaks the rules, it gives you an advantage over other players that dont use it, you can see more, and what some1 meant by “u can look around corners”
i think he meant like when u’r in a wall, and ther’s a turn in it, u can move ur camera till the point u see ur character from the side, and that u can see what’s next after the corner, a player with a smaller FoV will have toi be closer to the corner to do that, hence he could be detected/agrod or w/e
i always loved being able to zoom out a lot in other games but they all had it locked to a general max for the same reason
and using a program or moding a game file to break that barrier was banable (Lineage 2 had this same thing)
