Fun Roaming Builds

I’m a returning player, and I’ve always played power shatter. Looking around, I certainly see Condi Chrono or Condi PU being popular in WvW.

I want some opinions on how fun these meta builds are; if I’m used to old school power, am I going to be very bored?

I’ve always had power gear, but if I have people saying “Hey Condi isn’t that braindead and you can have some skill ceiling and outplays” I’ll totally gear myself with some of that trailblazers and what not and go ham.

I’m also, as always, very excited to hear about a strong Roaming Power build and some thoughts on that if anyone would like to share.

Wanted to get some opinions from people as to how best I can gear my Warrior out in some Ascended Armor (Trinkets are all set). I do prefer PVP/WVW, but I’m thinking my best approach is to do some PvE and I’m really not sure where to start.

Fractals maybe? Is just straight up Crafting it a good call? Any specifics or links to information appreciated.

What build are you running in WvW post-nerf?

Man, I really want Astralaria…..

Gonna just stick with Moot on power build anyways, I’ll take disco footfalls over meta any day.

By over the years you mean when they got buffed probably, just like literally everyone.

But the “nerfs” are no real nerfs, it barely affect anything that makes Warrior too strong, if you’re such an experienced warrior you know this.
Why else did the Warrior numbers in PvP still not drop since last season?

Anyway this thread is no use, nobody ever wants to admit there’s even the slighest thing wrong with the class they’re playing, only because they wanna keep it overpowered.

I mean if necro was overpowered or had some changes that 90% of the community considers a nerf that’s “killing the class” while it’s really not, I wouldn’t shut my mouth either and I almost only play necro, like when they changed Deathly Chill and boy did people rage back then.

As someone who played and still plays (almost) exclusively power shatter on Mesmer, I’ve properly seen a build/class get kitten on and improperly balanced time and time again and stuck with it. Because it’s fun.

When Warrior was fairly OP, I rolled one to figure out my windows of opportunity to properly burst and interrupt key skills. I think I first did this back in Hambow meta, and have revisited every class/build that seems very strong to have at least a basic understanding since.

I’m not claiming to be an expert by any means. But I can say that after reading your constant “warrior just don’t want nerf you’re all liars” garbage that you should really take a cold shower and spend time on one till you know how to beat it.

I’ve never relied on Anet to nerf anything that should be reliably; you either whine or just have fun and adapt, try to remove your ego from the equation to improve.

Sun Lian, as much as it pains me to just drop the ole “L2P” in a thread it’s realistically the only approach you’ve left anyone.

I mained Mesmer, switched to guardian and switched to Warrior over the years. I have almost exclusively run Power builds and 6 months ago, I might’ve given your claims more credibility. Playing through the nerfs, while I still have fun with warrior, sPvP is really rough against good players. Workable, but absolutely not overpowered. Basic mechanics have always been pretty easy on warrior, but the current cast times are very punishing if the other player knows what to look for.

You don’t know what to look for. Play what you struggle against.

Henry can’t differentiate clones from the real player.

How can we expect you to understand how active damage mitigation works?

Let alone what power creep even is… or the fact that its present in every single elite spec.

Henry just needs to be held after the repeated abuse he faces against anyone who bests him. Poor Henry. A moment of silence please.

Henry, you spend half the round as a moa because you don’t have the brain power to dodge the giant tell associated with it.

You ask for blurred frenzy to be nerfed ( a skill in no way OP currently that has been around and balanced to a good place over the years; It’s vanilla mesmer and no way related to chrono) and I saw you mention it in another thread, which has been met multiple times now with everyone calling you out for being insanely wrong.

I’d love to see those “numbers” you crunched to arrive at your “OP” data. That you haven’t posted. What a bad joke.

This guy keeps going around spamming inept posts because his main is countered by mesmer. I hope you keep getting Moa’d until you quit, PVP doesn’t need your uninformed balance ideas.

Mind-numbingly stupid calls for nerfs.

It’s appalling to me how often I still see people stomp clones.
Such an enormous part of this forum is dedicated to L2Play issues trying to be translated as viable balance discussions.

If everyone used their ability to play the classes they have trouble against in an unranked game or two and understand the limits and strengths to form a more rounded knowledge base for counter play….. man what a world that would be.

And the people even trying to support Blurred Frenzy nerfs? Do me a favor and put your ceiling fan on the highest setting, and make your best effort to jump straight into that bad boy. Report back if its possible for you to lose any more brain cells.

Power Creep in HoT is a tangible issue worth discussing. Not this garbage.

This thread is Hilarious.

I think Helseth went with the build he did as it stands a better chance in 1vX situations. Why pick a build that’s largely reliant on having a competent team in a ladder climb experiment? (Like power shatter, a +1 Build) Tools for the task, everyone has access to the same builds.

I think the ladder system needs some minor tweaking; An ESL Pro player climbing is of course going to happen when they have the ability to 1vX successfully, consistently. I think the system is doing its Job, albeit a little slowly in sorting people (in drawing rough comparisons to other games). A platinum skilled player in silver will have a much slower go for example. And honestly, looking at that number of games…. That’s quite a few to figure out where to put a top tier player, and he’s only in platinum.

So I’d say the skill level gap to solo-carry games in GW2 is quite high. And the system doesn’t exactly complement that proportionately. Maybe one way of drawing that comparison to other ladder games is something like League of Legends, where for such a large extent of the game, 2 lanes are a 1v1 scenario (excluding occasional ganks which are avoided with map awareness). This allows the “snowball” and the complete stomp in a 1v1 escalates more into a win condition.

This game, with poorly rotating team mates on top of mechanical skill disparity, is really brutal to carry at times. This being attributed to the simple concept of needing to fight on point. An individuals mistakes are more tangible to the entire outcome. Maybe more weight can be put on individual performance applied to rating bumps? Maybe not? Probably pretty hard.

TLDR; Git Gud. And know it’s a time sink to climb currently.

Hey Everyone,

I’d like to get some input as to how this might be improved or if this looks pretty good for a nice roaming build. I played Pre HoT full yolo shatter and although i do love that play style, I’m trying to have a little more sustain and I’m very torn between my 2 trait slots aside from Chrono.

From my limited experience in trying it, I’m feeling as if Inspirations is fairly important with all the condi. But with all the stealth I like to run maybe PU might make more sense? Maybe I can afford to go full yolo with Dom and dueling with some different armor? Throw some ideas at me if you would.

Any and all ideas or other WvW roaming build links are greatly appreciated. (Power based preferably).
