1st place and 2nd place face 3rd place again and their performance in those fights will determine the winner.

so i get to the last round and i lose to third place guy in that fight…. and 3rd place loses to my opponent, I end up getting 2nd place to someone who I never get to fight and likely have a chance of beating?

this makes no sense at all. this is a 1v1 tourney. people have different builds for different situations, roaming/1v1/zerging/etc. why would someone run an inferior or less practiced build for 1v1?

your suggestion of forcing multiple builds only makes sense if you have a secondary match thats 3v3 or 5v5 or something, where a different build would actually make sense to use.

and if you suggest that some nub can look up a build on youtube and someone become a warrior god, then you’re crazy. having a good build only means something if you’re a good player.

Im actually requesting this. Stats are already all out of whack, we dont need higher #’s. Ascended is for the treadmill PvE types.

Instead try to focus on balancing things with WvW in mind, much like SPvP is balanced for SPvP

I don’t know if you fight warriors much, but they’re more of an addition to a group rather than a dueling class.

They’re really easy to beat in duels, so I don’t know what you would prove by beating one.

as someone who has mained a warrior since GW2 came out, people are just bad playing them. Though it is true that there is really only 1 viable way to build them. Recent patch moved the traits around just a teensy bit, but its still the only way to build them. If anyone wants to do some 1v1 duels you can add me and we can do it all.

Whenever you see any streaming interviews or updates by Anet, it always seems to be focused on WvW or PvP. The recent major nerf to rangers was done because they are too strong in PvP, so those in PvE got hit hard (no, I don’t run a ranger, just the easiest example).

The recent state of the game on Twitch glossed over PvE, as will the upcoming discussion. The upcoming one is on WvW.

Other than the Living Story content (which contains major WvW and PvP changes) it seems like everything is focused away from PvE. Any class balancing seems to be geared away from PvE as well.

I don’t have a problem with WvW or PvP, but Anet, if you are going to change things to fit that, please separate them from PvE so we who prefer it, can play OUR game, without worrying about our professions or playstyle. I went from other games that did worldwide PvP to GW2. You say you want to make it so that we can play together. That we don’t need to compete with each other unless we want to. Then you go and focus so much on the PvP/WvW/esports idea that you force us into builds and actions that suit THEM, rather than us.

If this game is going to go to PvP/WvW while forgetting PvE, many of us are going to be looking in other directions. And that is sad, because it is such a great game.

wow, looked at all the builds hes sharing and just wow. Those are definately not going to do much for anyone if you solo or small group roam.

there is 1 “Best build” for warriors in all situations for WvW. Patch might alter it a bit but all the builds he is posting will not beat it. You can always duel me on YB if youd like to see just how much each of those would fail. Whisper Bi Furious if youre up against us.

To the bow/condition/bad kitten warrior in [Fist]: I usually find one enemy in a matchup that simply shines as knowing/using their class to the absolute fullest. You, my friend, are that person in this matchup, in my opinion. Ever consider transferring? ;P

To the D/P thief in [HoD]: your tenacity is both inspiring and annoying. I’m merely referencing your ability to not kill a single person yet keep multiple enemies busy trying to find you for minutes at a time.

I’ve had only a few duels where my enemies didn’t run to a tower or zerg. For those few of you, good show and I appreciate your willingness to actually fight. I certainly hope to run into each one of you again.

Which spawn do you mean citadel??? If so its happened on all servers since day 1 not a hack or exploit as you can just walk in there. Can only kill npcs . If other pm me and let me know and send pic if you took one or report to Anet

Yes, I know its not a hack, but killing our repair NPC when fierce battles are on going doesn’t help. I’m not complaining, just giving feedback. Doesn’t reflect well more on their guilds rather than the server

Better yet, try being a confusion mesmer. I hit them for 65 with confusion then get hit back for 375 from retaliation. Yeah, that’s fair…..

But remember, the only way to counter confusion is to not attack, and the only way to truly counter retaliation is…oh wait…

Yeah, I do find it personally hilarious to see people supporting retaliation with things like “get more vit”, etc…but when confusion was on the chopping block, people were proclaiming the only thing that you could do is not attack, and therefore it must be nerfed. Confusion and retaliation, in my eyes, are the same type of idea..except one is a boon you put on yourself, and the other is condition you put on others.. I guess the only difference is you can stack the conditions, but I’ve seen people with near constant retaliation, or spreading it to entire zergs. I’ve been killed by a feedback from retaliation because someone in the raid will spread retaliation the moment it hits. It’s a great strategy though (though I don’t think reflects should be affected by retaliation, because I’m technically not “attacking” the person..they’re attacking themselves)

Thats cause confusion could easily do 2k+ per action. retaliation is fine. You can cancel your barrage. plus retal is really only good vs certain actions, as opposed to confusion being good vs everything

Confusion was way out of whack, it is still good.. Retal is only op vs a few skills of aoe so nerfing it across the board would be silly.

Its not saying that the people in the GvG arent skilled. But its entirely pointless and sloppy to watch. fight is won in the first like 8 seconds. Even if Anet ever released GVG it wouldnt be larger then 8v8 and even that is sloppy.

this thread is about all characters damage. At the moment its pretty out of whack. and we have been promised full ascended gear too. dmg scales the largest, armor and heal power do nit. Should we all just glass cannon then? Is that intended?

What sucks is its just going to get worse as time goes on.

just ascended jewelry gives an extra 10% Crit Dmg + other stats. (maybe 9, id have to double check).

which was already super unnecessary in WVW

Its not a thief post, its a general everyone does way too much damage post. Crit Dmg should have been capped at like 80% or something.

Ascended armor is just giving people more and more dmg…. its silly and is just going to slowly get worse unless they redo everything for an exp pack and rebalance things

Im built tanky, and can still just murder people with 6k crits…. soooo ya

Note im not complaining about thieves, they fold like paper in a 1v1 or any normal fight where you dont get jumped with everything on CD .

But this is what WvW balance has evolved into. Cant Wait till full ascended armor and weapons are in the game! then PVP WILL COME TO LIFE

We already have a few of the worlds greatest warriors in T8 Bulky Boy and Titan but the more worlds greatest warriors the better.

Shout out to KoM, I was doing my normal roaming around when Hobbits found out I was not in exotic gear, he sent gold… even when I returned it feeling bad about just being given gold he insisted and sent it again, so now I have all exotics condition gear thanks to KoM.

If KoM people kill you at least you know they are good peeps.

So whats the current layout of things? I just roam with a guildmate and we are prob xfering, been high tiers for too long and want to get back to some solid small group fighting.

Doubt we’d “lopside” anything but what would be the best server to xfr too in t8?

look at people complaining about gvg. wvw is not serious business people, arena net ha a very small team working on it. Took 8 months to get do rewards that are mostly pointless. stop acting like people having fun and dueling for a short time is somehow ruining everything
