Should Legendary require multiple game modes?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Cyrrin.1230

Cyrrin.1230

Yes, legendary should require multiple game modes. The WvW part of it is so simple it’s not even funny. All you had to do is login every weekend and go to WvW and get the needed stuff from the area that you are. If your color didn’t change then wait it out. Map completion in WvW should not be the very last thing you wait to do when going for 100%.

As for the badges of honor and rank 14…. nothing but a big LOL there cause if you run with the zerg in EoTM while smashing your face on your keyboard you will fly by rank 14 and have way more than 500 badges. It literally takes such minor dedication to get this done.

Finisher constantly reverting to plain spike

I’ve read somewhere that it’s happening due to a bug that resets it to a spike after you turn on/off or change minis. I haven’t confirmed this though.

I think I read where it’s a bug that happens when you change minis or turn them on/off..

Mine has been resetting lately too but it’s only after I spent time in PvE.

Help me choose a profession

in Players Helping Players

Cyrrin.1230

I have 80’s in all professions and in my preference I play my guardian the most (pretty much all the time) and my thief second. The rest are as needed or never played. Warriors are everywhere so I never feel the need to use mine as I like the play style of guardians much more.

I also believe it will help you stick to a class by choosing the right race as well. My ele never gets played anymore cause it was my first character and I made it a norn. After playing Asura (my thief) and a small human (my guardian) I have found it more enjoyable to have smaller toons.

If you like PvP the most, thief’s can burst out a substantial amount of damage incredibly quick. But all classes have their pro’s and con’s in PvP.

If I were in your position I would go with the thief over the other 2. Tougher to master the class but once you do, man are they a friggin pain in WvW/PvP lol. Their stealth abilities and DPS are always nice to have in dungeons also. Feel free to add me as a friend in game and ask some questions or even help with stuff.

I can’t answer OP question but I can say that I saved all my bags from lvl 3-40 on the queensdale train before it was nerfed and opened them at 40. I got 3 level 80 exotics out of it. These bags were not obtained by any lvl 80’s. So I guess it would be possible to get a precursor from loot bag or maybe even a jumping puzzle chest no matter what level the toon is.

US BG player looking for Fractal Guild EST

in Looking for...

Posted by: Cyrrin.1230

Cyrrin.1230

As the title states above, I’m interested in joining a guild that runs fractals often that is on eastern time zone. My personal level is 11 due to the fact I don’t get to run fractals often with guild mates and I refuse to pug fractals anymore cause it always takes double the time. I’m not a fractal running expert but I am a pretty good player.

I will not rep 100% – I do like the small community I’m a part of but I will always rep when doing fractals (obviously) and if the guild does missions I will join in on that too.

Here’s what I bring to the table:

6 80’s – main Guardian though and this is what I will run every fractal with
know every dungeon path and use to do dungeon mentoring in the [noob] guild
full ascended zerker gear
Sunrise/Ascended Hammer/Ascended sword with exo off hand
5500+ achievement points (not that it really matters but some people care about that)
my own mumble server to use during fractal runs if needed
A few friends will follow me that are also interested in doing fractals (though most have never ran any)
I’m mature (25 yr old) and I’m not the type to freak out if something goes wrong or if someone goes down. I will not be apart of a group like that either. Let’s play to learn and then teach others how to do it without being a kitten about it please.

PM here or msg me in game. I’m on most nights after 6pm eastern.

Thanks!

Fear mixed in with a few knock back skills had them all dead.

OP.. You do understand there is a TREMENDOUS amount of risk in playing the TP right? It’s not nearly as easy as you may think just because people commit to it. A lot of that flip the TP don’t just sit all day watching it. It’s a passive income that we create and let it do its thing while we play the game. It’ very simple if you are good with numbers and spreadsheets.. and if you aren’t.. it’s not exceptionally hard to learn.

Tell me why wouldn’t you want to login, set some buy orders and then run some fractals/dungeons/WvW/PvP or whatever you want to do and just let the TP work its magic.

IMO, you’d be happy with a thief. I love going d/d and shortbow. I only have 5 80’s and I think thief would best suit what you’re looking for. Aside from range, Guardian also meets most of your requirement. Sceptre isn’t a terrible choice but definitely not the best. You could easily go Greatsword or Hammer with weapon switch to Sceptre/Focus or Sceptre/Torch for more DPS.

Guardian’s with staff can be extremely fun in WvW. The class can provide a lot of support and be a pain in the kitten to kill if setup properly.. plus the “loot stick” smacking every person in the opposing zerg can lead to a nice amount of rewards. Gives swiftness symbol that stacks swiftness per pulse.. plus retreat skill gives you approx 30 sec of swiftness with a 12 sec cooldown on the staff skill. Can almost keep perma swiftness with it.

Name: Masters of Hatred [MoH]
Server: Blackgate
Focus: PvE/WvW
Size: Small
Time: NA
Voice: Mumble
We are a small casual guild. We do not have class or build requirements to participate in game play with us. Everyone in the guild is friendly and will assist players with whatever they need if available to. Quite a few members are in the military and are on deployment which has made the guild very quiet as of late. Which is why I am here posting hoping to make some new friends.

Only real “requirement” I have is that you are 18+. I prefer 21+ but as long as you treat people with respect then age doesn’t matter. If you are running any events with me then I prefer that you are in mumble to make things go smoother, even if you don’t own a mic.

A little about me in game: I am a dungeon master and also participate in the guild: We teach how we want (which is a dungeon training guild). I can comfortably run players thru every path of every dungeon except Arah. I also have a commander tag and will command on WvW/EoTM if there is not a current commander running. I’m not “highly experienced” at commanding in WvW but I’m more about having fun with it anyways.

Please do not ask to join the guild and then immediately start asking for funds/gold. You will be helped financially in due time and rewarded with misc. items as well.

We currently do not have a time table of events that we do each night of the week. As the guild grows I will then set up certain days of the week to do certain things in game.

Guild upgrades are as follow:
Politics: VI
Art of War: V
Economy: IV
Architecture: V
I keep guild boosts/upgrades going thru out every weekend and will keep it going thru out the week as guild grows.

Future plans:
Dedicated night each week for guild missions.
Raffles: Will occur after guild missions – Also will try to incorporate a way to raffle off Legendary items. This will take some time to get to.
WvW Commanders
World boss leaders
Dungeon leaders

Message me here or in game with any questions! First time posting a guild recruitment post – I apologize if I’m all over the place with it haha.

Duo'ing Arah

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Cyrrin.1230

Cyrrin.1230

Hey all,

I’m a pretty avid dungeon runner. Almost have every single path down to a T for every dungeon except Arah. My friend and I want to start learning Arah and duo’ing our way thru it. He mains warrior and I main guardian. We both run zerker builds. (I also have 80 warrior, ele, and thief but my guardian is my favorite and is also in all ascended gear so I would prefer to learn to do this with my guardian).

Can y’all possibly provide some info on what paths are best to run duo and maybe provide essential utility skills to use for each class on certain bosses.. and explain why those skills are necessary.

Guild Halls/Housing!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Cyrrin.1230

I won’t say it’s a win-win but it’s close. I would put effort into my own home if they were introduced but it’s not something I’m wanting them to put in the game. Will Anet win because of potential $$$ thru gem store? Absolutely. Will players that want the housing market win? Of course.

What about the “lack” of balanced professions that people often complain about? Heck I could probably make a list of plenty of things that I have read multiple different forum posts about issues that I would say should be taken care of long before I see homes introduced into the game.

Either way it goes, you’ll have the players that want homes complaining about not having them and then if they get introduced, you’ll have the players who don’t care about them complaining about how so many other things are still messed up.. why is anet focusing on houses??

Personally, I’ll be fine either way. Still got a lot of other goals in game to occupy my time long before I start wishing I had a house to show off my awesome achievements lol.

Also, I would be much more incline to the idea if the game was actually guild vs guild oppose to wvwvw. I would love to login and walk out on the deck of a guild mansion and see 100 players from another guild trying to storm in. The alliance attacks in both AC and SWG that I was involved in are some of my most favorite memories of the games.

Ha! Man I could talk for hours about AC. I played from Sept 2000 til 2006 pretty much daily (when I could) and then from 2006-2009 off and on. I played on Harvestgain.

I played Morningthaw, from 1999-2004, WoW is what pulled me away from AC. What a great game. You wanted to level? You go out and you hunt. None of this quest business. Players today would whine so hard about grind if a game worked like AC did, but it was so awesome. I still have nightmares involving the thump thump thump of a group of tuskers charging at me.

Haha, man I still hear the olthio’s in my dreams. My guild alliance mansion was infested with them all around. I hear the tuskers thumping often too cause of all that grinding on tusker island. Hit me up in game, man. I’m on most nights after 6pm eastern.

Even Asheron’s Call housing system was pretty legit til the population of the game died down.

You, sir, are now one of my favorite people. I loved AC, and I loved the player housing they created for it. You had little neighborhoods (or lived in apartment buildings if you were poor). No joke I would hang out with my neighbors because your house can be out in the middle of nowhere with 6-10 other houses and you walk around to your neighbors and make friends and check out their stuff. Was pretty awesome.

I even remember how to get to my house, you had to go to Lytlethorpe, then run southwest for 5-8 minutes (depending on your Run skill, god I loved being able to upgrade run speed— and jump skill too for that matter, nothing like jumping over treetops from a standstill, so awesome)

It was also first come first served, which was an interesting way to do housing. You wanted to get a house? They would randomly become available, you had to find the neighborhood which could be anywhere, find out what the random item was that needed to be collected to turn in for a Writ of ownership then beat everyone else to turning it in. Also you paid a hefty fee of course. Was an exhilarating scavenger type hunt. Still gets my heart pumping thinking about it. Luckily the item I needed for my house I happened to have on me already so I got the first one!

Ha! Man I could talk for hours about AC. I played from Sept 2000 til 2006 pretty much daily (when I could) and then from 2006-2009 off and on. I played on Harvestgain.

Anyways, not to hijack the tread.. With most of GW2 being instanced, it wouldn’t be nearly as fun to have housing as it was in the open world games where you could be running around and exploring and then just come across a small neighborhood. Heck, sometimes you’d even come across one and they would be having a small PvP tournament seeing who was “king” of their neighborhood. That was always enjoyable.

SWG did it right IMO because of the factions.. Imperial alliances could build cities (huge or small) and set up storm, scout, and whatever other kind of troopers as well as AT-ST’s and stuff to defend it. A organized rebel alliance would locate it and even attack it which if left un-attended would result in you losing buildings in your city. It would notify everyone online in the alliance that their city was under attack and the next thing you know, you have this huge war going on outside your front door. There was also a lot more you were capable of doing housing and city wise in SWG. But that was all open world.

Guild halls I could see being pretty cool but specific housing instances (aside from the already “home” instance) would be a wasted amount of resources and effort to implement when there is so much other things they could be working on.

I guess it could be another gold sink for them to put in place though.

Star Wars Galaxies (pre-combat “upgrade”) had the best housing/city building of any MMO.

Even Asheron’s Call housing system was pretty legit til the population of the game died down.

However, with the play style of GW2 against those MMO’s… housing isn’t really needed. IMO

Does the level of your character dropping the items into the forge have any bearing on the results? I wouldn’t think so, but it’s always good to ask.

I don’t believe so but idk. All I can say is my MF was 108% and I finally completed the personal story a couple days ago. No idea if that plays any factor but this is my first precursor with 1000+ hours of play time.

I’d like to add myself to this as well.

North America

Mentor name: Cyrrin.1230
Active dungeons: I can teach all paths for all dungeons except for Arah.
Availability: I’m eastern time and I usually log on around 7-8pm and play til midnight. I’m usually on late at night during the weekends as well.
Languages: English
Contact: In-Game Mail
Communication: Party chat or I can give you temp access to my guild mumble server
Message: I don’t run full berserker and I don’t specifically do speed runs. My guild likes to pretty much kill everything. If you want a speed run, let me know in advanced which path so I make sure I know the speed run tactics for it. Also so I include guild mates that run speed too. I’m not trying to teach the dungeon in the fastest way possible as much as I’m trying to teach people how to do the dungeon so they have a foundation of the paths that they can then build upon by skill level and eventually do the “current meta” builds and speed runs. I recognize not all players are capable of playing at full zerker caliber and these are the type of players I want to reach out to.

If you reach out to me I ask that you’re patient and mature. I’ll explain each path in detail to you so that actually learn the tactics of getting thru so that you can pass on the knowledge and help others too. Any level player and any class is OK by me.

I am decently experienced at and can give advice regarding Guardian, Thief, and Ele. I’ve also achieved the dungeon master and have ran each path of every dungeon multiple times. I’ve helped plenty of people get their dungeon master title as well.

Is Zhaitan.. (spoiler)
