You could easily reduce the capacity for trolling by preventing it from being used on not-in-combat friendlies.
Shadowstep is a zero casting time skill, as are most teleports that I’m aware of, and therefore will not interrupt other actions. This is the same reason I can Steal while in the middle of my Cloak & Dagger attack animation. The effects of both Steal and CnD go off without a hitch.
It’s a lot like how a Mesmer can shatter while doing something else, or an Engineer can overdrive or blow up a turret while otherwise preoccupied. It’s not cheating, and I’d keep using it if I were you.
Cool guide, you might want to add that exiting Shadow Refuge too early will unstealth you.
Two suggestions that would make the TP way better in my opinion:
—Let us filter our search by light/medium/heavy armor.
—Let us sort a list of search results by how much damage they do.
Sorry if this has been said before but I did a search and didn’t find anything.
Yeah, killing the same mook for hours gets boring and grindy. With as fun and varied and fast-paced as the rest of the game is, it really felt like the ball was dropped on this one.
The biggest highlight of my last AC attempt was when my ally, sitting in the same room as me, spent upwards of 15 minutes kiting the same guy while the rest of the party was dead. I put on Wacky Sax and it was AMAZING.
We read your post Phantax. I want it to stay the same, and Esorono wants the skills faster. We understood what you’re asking for (the opposite) and are disagreeing. ;p
The purpose of skill learning time isn’t to withhold skills until you “earn them”, it’s to prevent new players from being overwhelmed by throwing 5 skills at them simultaneously. It also gets you to try out each skill and play with it a bit.
If you get skill 5 and you think “that’s it, nothing left to learn”, then you sir need to think outside the box a bit more. It’s not about what skills you have, it’s about how you use them. Take a look at your profession’s forum if you need some ideas.
My favorite GW2 cat is still the adorable ghost cat you meet in that one underground area in the Char zones.. near Duke Barradin’s Estate I think.
I like to think that the whole Sylvari and Risen conflict is secretly an elaborate Plants vs. Zombies fanfiction on the part of one or more content developers at ANet.
My Charr’s appearance and personality are based loosely on that of my cat. Which I find hilarious. In any given situation, I just ask myself “What would Moggin do?” Usually it involves smashing and breaking things, so his in-game personality is of course Brute.
I find this basis especially ideal for a rifle-focused engineer, as his primary mode of attack is POUNCING ON THINGS (with Rifle Jump) and when he needs to flee it’s Overcharge Shot + Rocket Boots for this absurd backwards tumbling explosionretreat that is just so him.
So while the end result is closer to a traditional Charr than many of those posting here, it’s certainly not because I’m taking things seriously or anything.
