The game does offer you all 2 different 18 Slot Mithril Boxes. The account bound version can come from heroic chests gained from purchases of the game and betas. The non-account bound version is crafted.

The Treasury is looking for the non-account bound version of the 18 Slot Mithril Box and will not recognize attempts to use the account bound version.

While this is investigated, I had some questions that may give us more clues into what may be up.

  • Are your characters on the same account, or different ones?
    • If on different accounts, have you checked the guild ranks to make sure they’re the rank you need for this?
  • When you rep another guild – have you seen if the affected characters can/cannot donate to that guild you are now representing?
  • Although you’ve been in the guild for months, do you know if you have you spent 3 days of playtime representing that guild on the affected characters?
  • Are any other members of [FIRE] running into this issue to your knowledge?

For those interested: we are tracking an issue where the guild mission UI is not tracking progress based missions right now. The game still sees the mission as progressing, but the UI is not. I’ve no ETA on a fix, but for anyone who is worried – as long as you are running WvW progress based missions with at least three of you in the same guild, or are running sPvP missions with a guild team – the game should recognize you’ve accomplished the missions successfully and give you the rewards.

While I am looking into this, I did have a few questions for you, if you don’t mind?

Have all your possible guild invitees accepted their invites? For example, if you have 39 members who have accepted their guild invites, and an additional 11 “invited” (pending), the npc will not grant the license. She will want at least 40 members in your guild.

The other question is: are you representing the guild you want to get the license for when you talk to the npc? I noticed in your screenshot that you seem to belong to more than one guild and wanted to double check.

Concerning the boost:

If you purchase the boost, you will have the time it takes to make a tick of aetherium reduced by 5% (this applies to all available influence to aetherium boost changes).

For example:
1 aetherium may be mined per 60 seconds before the boost.
1 aetherium may be mined per 57 seconds after the boost.

Gilded Hollow Waypoints aren’t working for me, but the game still takes my gold.

Thank you for the report. We’re investigating, but until we can get a fix together for folks we suggest walking while within the map, and using the [Guild Hall] button in your guild panel to travel to the guild hall.

Note: We’ve found this affects Lost Precipice as well – so anyone with this guild should take care to not use them as well.

Hello. My guild and I just tried to complete the guild favor mission “PvP Conquest” for the 300 favor so we can have a guild hall. All of the people in our team was repping the guild, and we all had a combined score of above 700. We played a conquest match, and won, so both the team score and personal score are both over 500. We played in unranked, because ranked is not available, but this was not a custom game. The guild mission started before we queued for hte match.
We should have 440 more influence now, which is more then enoguh for hte guild hall. However, we did not get credit for it.

Hail! I am looking into your issue and had a few questions:

1. It looks like your guild folks are only in a party together and not a Guild Team (based on the screenshot you provided). Since that is a requirement for the mission, can you confirm that your parties were also on guild teams (the guild team tab in the guild panel will allow you to create these)?

2. Did you trigger the mission before you queued?

I may need more information depending on your answers. Thanks!

I know you guys have many more questions, but I and my peeps want to give you all a heads up on some new information ASAP so you can prepare.

Tonight at 11PM PST we need to switch some things in the code for Guilds. Therefore some features are going to be turned on a bit earlier in preparation for Heart of Thorns.

  • All queued upgrades will be auto completed and you will not be able to queue any new upgrades.
  • Any guild missions you have active will be auto completed (without rewards) and the new mission system will kick in.
  • We will be relieving the guild npcs who have been stationed around the Guild Initiaitive Office in LA (though the Guild Banker and Registrar will still be there for you).
  • Guild Influence will no longer be given or sold (though you will still be able to use any consumables that given influence if you have them left).
  • Guild Merits will no longer be awarded for missions (we’ll still give you the currency: Guild Commendations).

Take another look at my post above from last evening and make sure your guilds are prepared. Some of this is hitting a bit sooner. \o/

ALSO, we wanted to let you guys know of a change to map caps for the guild Expedition encounters and guild halls. We told you all that we were aiming to let 200 folks into these locations at a time. However we need to tone this number down to make sure the performance for the maps is solid. Therefore we are reducing the cap to 150 (down from 200).

Good day, friends! Are you Faren well today? To answer a few of the questions:

8. Will guilds be able to buy favor with gold, like you can currently with influence?

You will not be able to buy favor with gold. We want favor to be a currency with value for the guild system in Heart of Thorns and do not want it to become trivial for some guilds.

9. What are the requirements to claim a Guild Hall?

The act of purchasing (funding) is done through the Guild Initiative Office. This will cost 100 gold and some favor. I’d like to leave the exact amount of favor to you all to discover on launch. I understand this interferes with preplanning for some guilds, but we wish to keep some discovery of the system intact for everyone’s launch day.

We do not expect guilds to be able to claim their desired guild halls immediately. Guilds will need to trek through the jungles and find the hidden paths to the entrances. And anyone participating will need to be able to enter the expedition on their own two feet. There is a lot of crazy things in the jungle and who knows what your guild will encounter on the way.

10. Will there be opportunity to complete unqueued upgrades after launch?

The upgrade tab currently available in the guild panel will be going away and players will no longer be able to queue upgrades. If a guild didn’t obtain an upgrade before launch, they will need to get it through the new system, as the queue system for upgrades is being removed.

As others suggested, if there is an upgrade you really want you may want to hurry the production of any queued prerequisite upgrades and get the upgrades you want in your queue. If you do not have enough influence, you can buy some. See the wiki entry on Influence for more information.

10. Is it possible to get a refund of influence for guild missions (and maybe other upgrades that will go away)?

We will not be refunding guilds for missions or other upgrades.

11. Can you explain point 7 in more detail?

Using one of the listed upgrades as an example:
Guild Armorer Contract will be renamed to “Guild Armorer 1” and will be auto unlocked for the Market.

Guild Armorer Contract is the name of an upgrade available to a guild in the current system. Owning the upgrade would allow a guild to speak with an NPC named Guild Armorer who would sell guild members guild armors and backpacks.

If a guild had this upgrade before Heart of Thorns, they will still have the upgrade after launch. And the guild will have access to an NPC that sells the same items as before. The guild will not have to unlock the upgrade a second time should they decide to claim a guild hall, as the upgrade will already be unlocked from the Market (though it will now be called “Guild Armorer 1” and not “Guild Armorer Contract”).

If the guild did not have the Guild Armorer Contract before HoT, they will need to obtain the Guild Armorer 1 upgrade from the Market in whichever guild hall the guild claims.

12. What are the Notary and the Market? And do we have to claim a Guild Hall for my Bankguild first to get back Access to my Bank?

The Notary and Market are 2 of 7 areas of focus for your guild to gain upgrades from (the others include the Tavern, Mine, Workshop, Arena and War Room). The Notary will be accessible through the Guild Initiative Office and the others will only be accessible through the guild hall once it is obtained. If you don’t have the guild banks unlocked before Heart of Thorns, you will need to get the upgrades from those sources after launch.

13. What happens to guild siege already built by a guild once HoT launches?

Any guild catapults and guild siege golems built by a guild will be placed in the Storage tab of the guild panel after launch. To access them, you will open the guild panel and navigate to the new tab named “Storage”. You will find what you seek under the Consumables category.

Back in June, Link Hughes shared a blog post in which he discussed Rethinking Guilds .

We of the Guild Halls team would like to remind guilds and their members of a few things in these last several hours before launch!

1. Activate any unused 24 or 48 hour buffs for your guild before Heart of Thorns launches.

Your guild will not be able to activate any unused 24-48 hour buffs for your guild after HoT launches. Any remaining buffs following launch will not be accessible and any time remaining on an active buff will be carried over until it naturally expires. This does not include your banners and feasts which will continue to exist in the Storage tab of your guild panel.

2. Activate and complete your guild missions before Heart of Thorns launches.

Your guild mission consumables will not be usable in Heart of Thorns as guild missions will no longer need consumables. If you run missions before launch, you will be able to run the missions after launch for guild rewards. For further notes on missions, read Colin’s post on a Handful of HoT Notes

3. Spend your remaining guild merits.
Merits will no longer be used by guilds and are being removed. Any merits held following the launch of Heart of Thorns cannot be spent and will be inaccessible.

4. Consider spending your influence.
There are about 15 consumable items that you can invest your guild influence in. You can hold 25 of each these consumables before your guild is capped on the number you can hold. If you have influence you cannot sink into consumables before launch, you will be able to exchange your influence for Aetherium, Favor and Resonance.

Influence may be exchanged as follows:
– Favor may be exchanged each week.
– Resonance may be exchanged as much as desired.
– Aetherium may be exchanged every 24 hours

5. Use your Art of War fortification buffs.
“Fortified” buffs will not carry into Heart of Thorns and cannot be used after launch. Activate and use these before launch to get the most out of them. Once Heart of Thorns launches, these will no longer be usable.

6. Queue what you can!
Anything in your queue will be auto completed. This counts for your guild’s currently building upgrades and your items further back in the queue.

7. Some upgrades will be grandfathered into the Guild Halls system.

When Heart of Thorns launches a few upgrades obtained in the previous system will carry over into the new system. These upgrades will not require you to own a guild hall and you will be able to benefit from them after launch.

The following upgrades will provide NPCs in the Guild Initiative Office.

Guild Armorer Contract will be renamed to “Guild Armorer 1” and will be auto unlocked for the Market.
Guild Weapons Contract will be renamed to “Guild Weaponsmith 1” and will be auto unlocked for the Market.
Guild Stash will be auto unlocked from the Notary
Guild Treasure Trove will be auto unlocked from the Market.
Deep Cave will be auto unlocked from the Market.

The following upgrades will unlock scribing recipes. You must have a guild hall to scribe the schematic and build the item. However, until you get the guild hall you will be able to purchase the items with favor from a Guild Requisitioner found in the Guild Initiative Office.

Guild Catapult will auto unlock the War Room upgrade “Scribing: Guild Catapult”.
Guild Siege Suit will auto unlock the War Room upgrade “Scribing: Guild Siege Golem”.

1. What about the WvW Fort +5 Supply item? Will it carry over?
The WvW consumables and buffs will not carry over.

In HoT, a guild will need to claim a guild, then upgrade the hall to have the “War Room”. Following this, they will need to upgrade the Guild to have scribing recipes to craft. Once a scribe in the guild crafts the recipe and creates the schematic for the WvW guild claiming consumable, the guild will need to Process the schematic through the Assembly device of their workshop. Once the schematic is finished running through the Assembly, the guild will be able to use the consumable in WvW.

2. Will Asuran Outsourcing still be usable in HoT?
It will not be usable in HoT. Your guild will want to use it before launch.

In addition to “Guild World Event”, items that will transfer into the new system include:

  1. +5% Karma Banner
  2. Road Marker
  3. Guild Banquet
  4. 10% Karma and 10% Experience Banner
  5. Guild Heroes Banner
  6. Guild Catapult
  7. Guild Siege Suit
  8. 10% Gathering Bonus Banner
  9. 5% Experience Public Banner
  10. 10% Magic Find Banner
  11. 5% Gold from Kills Banner
  12. Vault Transport
  13. 10% Kill Gold and 15% Magic Find Banner
  14. 15% Gathering and 10% Swiftness Banner

And a few things not carrying over include:

1. The 24hour – 48 hour guild buffs.
The consumables do not carry over into HoT, and you will not be able to activate them after HoT launch. However, if the guild activates them before launch and they are still active after launch, they will continue to be active until their timers would have run out. If your guild has guild buffs stored up but not active currently, you may want to enjoy a guild *buff*et with those for the next few days.

2. The guild mission consumables.
The guild mission items will not carry over. Missions will not need consumables to start.

3. The Combat and Armor crafting consumables.
These are being removed.

6. What about the higher tier upgrades (Treasure Trove, Deep Cave) that were unlocked before HoT? & But if you currently own the maximum sized guild bank, you would be able to keep all that space, right?

If your guild had Guild Stash, Treasure Trove and/or Deep Cave before HoT, your guild will still have access to them after HoT. They will still be accessible from the Guild Bankers.

7. Would the members that didn’t purchase HoT lose the access to those?

If a member of the guild does not have HoT, they can still access the guild bank.


Your guild bank access and contents are secure. You can bank on it. =p

4. Is the extra, temporary guild bank space created after the diff chapters(servers) of your guild were merged still there?

If a guild still has their additional slots from when the Guild mergers occurred, those slots will continue to exist until the item in the slot is moved/removed. Once the item is removed, the slot will no longer be accessible.

5. How big is this new “Guild Stash” for players without a guild hall

The guild stash will continue to provide 50 slots to the guild that purchases it.

A commendation vendor will be present in the Guild Initiative Office that offers many of the goods it offers currently. And there will be upgrades that bring in new vendors that offer goods in exchange for commendations that you can obtain once your guild claims a guild hall and starts to restore buildings.

Hail! Are you all Faren well today? =D To answer the guild bank questions:

1. Is there any risk of losing what is in the Guild Bank on release day?

There is no risk to the contents of guild banks. And Guild Bankers will continue to be out in the world for your banking needs.

2. If I create a new guild after HoT, will I be able to build a guild bank or will that system be abandoned?

Any guild that does not have a guild bank before HoT will have the ability to get the “Guild Stash” without the need for a guild hall. The npc proprietor: Grimur Oddursson within the Guild Initiative Office in Lion’s Arch will enable a guild to obtain the upgrade in exchange for gold and favor (obtained from Missions).

3. What if you don’t buy HoT? Will your ability to get a guild bank be gone?

Players without HoT will still have access to the Guild Initiative Office where they can purchase the Guild Stash.

I totally failed on properly discussing the MoTD today. So I have some information I think you’ll enjoy (or hope you and others enjoy) concerning it.

  1. Whenever you log into game you will see the MotD broadcast to your chat for that guild you are representing at the time of log in.
  2. Whenever you represent a guild you will see that guild’s MotD broadcast into your chat.
  3. Whenever someone in your guild edits the MotD (they will need guild permissions to do this), you will see your guild’s MotD broadcast to the chat.

Also, to touch on the concerns about the size of the field for the MotD: The “Attributes” section I spoke of at end of stream will only be as wide as the roster tab. We will still have a fairly large field to work with for the message of the day. But should the player(s) miss the MotD, they will have that message broadcast to their chat each time they log in and represent, and when someone edits it.
