Good day!

The guild team continues to investigate why some Guild Missions are not awarding some guild players for individual participation when they have done a mission with their guild. We’ve identified causes to the Guild WvW Challenge: Obsidian Sanctum, but we’re seeing a lot of player submitted reports through the bug submission window (brought up with “/bug”) that Guild Races are sometimes not awarding members participation.

Some of the player reports have been helpful but we’re looking for a bit more information for our investigation. If you have been affected by this:

  1. What was the date and time you encountered this bug on (time just helps us look this up in the records, a general ballpark estimate is fine)?
  2. What guild were you representing and was it the guild running the mission, or another guild?
  3. What race(s) did you participated in, when you didn’t get personal rewards? (Personal rewards being the bouncy chest that appears in the right side of the screen over the minimap – Note, currently guild races need you to pass between every flag and reach the finish line within the time limit for the event AND the guild mission timer in the mission tab).
  4. Have you gotten participation for these races in the past and received rewards?
  5. When your guild runs the race, are you in the same map as the rest of the guild, or did you end up in your own map?
  6. How many guild members are running the race with you?
  7. Are you part of a squad or party? Or are you participating without a group?

If you have been seeing reward issue for other missions that are not the races or wvw challenge: obsidian sanctum, please let us know.

Good morning! Sorry for the delayed response on this. It appears the recipe is looking for the wrong guild upgrade, keeping it from being crafted when expected. Currently the recipe will not appear in the list until a guild has unlocked the War Room upgrade “Scribing: Packed Dolyaks”, rather than once a guild has unlocked the War Room upgrade: “Scribing: Guild Ballista” and the scribe is the appropriate level.

I’ve passed this bug along to the team so they can begin to look at fixing it and thank you for your report!

Hey guys! The banners in question have a fix in the works and should be looking proper once QA finishes testing the fix and we can release the work. Thank you for the reports and screenshots!

As for the fire bowl / brazier: the flames were not included deliberately. When the fire is lit in the brazier, the flames are high enough to lick at the branches of the tree above it. We love the tree and will not be igniting the brazier.

We are working on phasing out the need for Resonance as we have shortened the processing time on almost all of the schematics (SAB decorations have varied times but everything else will be around 30 seconds). If you receive resonance shards on any missions and do remember the name or target of the mission you received it from, please let us know as that should have been pulled.

Concerning the assembly interact – we are working on verifying a fix for that issue to be released in the future. I cannot give you an exact date at this time, but there will be a fix once we in QA verify the fix is solid.

Concerning the queuing – you should also be able to drag and drop things into your assembly lines. You can even reorganize the ones waiting by drag and dropping, or remove items from the queue by dragging them out of the processing line. It’s not quite as efficient as double-clicking, but may be a solution while this is looked into.

Hey guys,

Your materials will still be in your Treasury. The treasury only shows items that a guild meets the prerequisites to build. When you regain the level from our bug fix yesterday, the upgrades will be able to be donated to again and any quantities held previously will still be in the Treasury waiting to be used. I apologize for this scare this caused, but rest assured – your donations are still there.

Hail! What you are experiencing right now is the intended behavior. When a guild obtains the Workshop they get the chance to purchase the basic decorations for 50s each (to allow folks to start scribing decoration schematics sooner). Then when guilds begin investing in the basic decoration vendor from the Market, groups of the basic decorations will be unlocked at better prices (the 24 silver) on that vendor.

If the issue is you cannot interact with the Assembly, then Kelly’s advice is what you need. It looks like we accidentally bumped the interact point when we fixed the nameplate. We’ll see about getting this fixed, but till then you’ll want to stand on the furniture a bit.

I just wanted to give an update that we believe we have identified why some of the missions with progression based objectives are launching as if they were already complete. However, fixing it is delicate work so we cannot provide estimates on it. Thank you all for your continued posts and information (and for those who use /bug and report issues there) as it helped greatly in chasing down the issue.

Thank you all again for continuing to post updates and screenshots; as well sending bugs to us through the bug report tool. You all have been patient and shown us a lot of grace and good will while we seek a solution.

Unfortunately we’ve not yet been able to pin down what in the guild mission system is causing this issue to afflict your guilds when it comes to the missions in the UI freaking out before and after objectives are completed. Similarly, we’ve not been able to identify what causes the issues with the WvW challenge for the puzzle. We are continuing to investigate them and apologize for the continued disruptions to your missions.

Hmmm Looking at the screenshot, it looks like a space may have snuck in, in front of log on the command line. If you remove the space between the dash and log (so it looks like “…\gw2.exe -log”) it will hopefully fix it. We went with this design due to technical limitations with the nodes and their interactions with the guild upgrade system. Because we wanted to have the nodes in the hall become progressively better as upgrades were purchased and because of how we had to build those nodes, we had to tie the harvest progress to the upgrade.

Good day!

Unfortunately we’re still working on identifying what is causing so many of you to not be able to see some of the UI in the guild halls. The team has requested a bit more information as we continue to dig.

If those of you who are affected are willing, could you please: launch the game with “-log” on your command line, travel to the guild hall and attempt to look at the Treasury and other affected guild hall user interfaces? And then once you have done this, can you go to your AppData folder and upload the file as an attachment to a response to this thread (it would look like gw2.log).

Grabbing the Log:____________________________

  1. Open the folder containing your exe for Guild Wars 2
  2. Right click on the exe and select the drop down option “Create Shortcut”
  3. On the created shortcut, right click the icon and select the drop down option “Properties”
  4. In the Shortcut tab, look at the field (box) called “Target”
  5. Following the name of the exe, add the text: -log
  6. Hit apply and close the Properties window.
  7. Double click the shortcut and log into Guild Wars 2.
  8. Once you are in game, open the guild panel [g]
  9. Use the “Guild Hall” button to travel to your guild hall.
  10. Talk to the Guild Treasurer npc “Esa the Frugal”
  11. Tab out of or close the game.
  12. Click on the start button
  13. Search for explorer
  14. Go to your AppData folder for the game and find the log file. (It will look something like C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.log)
  15. Copy the Log file somewhere where you can find it easily.
  16. Make a response to this thread with that file as an attachment.

Once you have done this, it should be safe to remove “-log” from the command (or the shortcut). I’ve included two screenshots that may help in navigation.

Donari’s response is pretty accurate, but I’ll try to explain a bit more.

Let’s say I belong to two guilds in game: “Faren Well” and “Quaggan’s Folly.” Both guilds have the guild workshop upgrade “Lumber Synthesizer 1”. However, Faren Well owns the Gilded Hollow and Quaggan’s Folly owns Lost Precipice.

When I travel to Faren Well and harvest from the lumber synthesizer node, the game registers that Lumber Synthesizer 1 has been harvested. When I then travel to Quaggan’s Folly in the Lost Precipice, the game sees that I’ve already harvested from Lumber Synthesizer 1 that day and the node will appear used and will not allow me to harvest from it.

Now we hop forward a few weeks and Faren Well has purchased Lumber Synthesizer 2. When I go to Faren Well and harvest the node, the game registers that Lumber Synthesizer 2 has been harvested from. Then when I next travel to Quaggan’s Folly, the game allows me to harvest from the synthesizer there because Quaggan’s Folly still owns Lumber Synthesizer 1, and sees Lumber Synthesizer 1 has not yet been harvested that day.

Each Synthesizer Node Upgrade has its own node. The location of the node does not play into the allowances; only the upgrade. You can only harvest from a specific upgrade node for the appropriate number of strikes per 24 hours. The nodes are not specific to a guild, nor a guild hall’s map.

I hope this helps clarify things!

  • Are you playing on a Mac or Windows (I’m pretty sure this is both based on all of your responses but just to be safe, I’ll ask officially).
  • Are you using a shader modification or a game overlay (such as SweetFx, GemFx, ReShade, Overwolf, Mumble, Steam, etc)?

Also for those of you using Windows, could you please provide us with a Dxdiag of the machine you’re encountering this issue on?

DirectX Diagnostic Tool:____________________________

  • Click on the start button
  • In the search box, type “dxdiag” and hit enter.
  • When the diagnostic tool finishes running, hit the “Save All Information” button and save the file in an easy to find location on your computer.
  • Return to this thread to make a reply.
  • Go to your attachments and add the file you saved.

Hey guys,

We have the issue in our system and the team is still looking to identify a fix.

An additional question for you all:

  • If you have the ability to check this at a different location, does this issue happen (ie: if you have the issue at home, but then don’t at a friend’s home, or school)?
    • If it worked in a new location, were you using the same machine or a different machine?

Also, since I’ve not seen any of you mention trying a few troubleshooting things that come to mind, could you guys give the two things below a try? The guild halls use the same UI tech as the Gemstore and Trading Post. And what may potentially help is to run the game as administrator or to clear the cache for the game (in case something weird has happened to your caches).

Run as administrator:____________________________
To run Gw2 as administrator right click on the game and select “Run as administrator” from the drop down. This will open the game in administrator.

Clearing the Cache:____________________________

  1. Close the game client
  2. Open explorer and go to your c drive.
  3. In “search local disk” search for “gw2cache”
  4. When the search completes, a folder with a name like: [gw2cache-{B3601E0B-C97D-1C9C-081E-60B37DC99C1C}] should be shown (with an address similar to “C:\Users\YourComputerUserName\AppData\Local\Temp”)
  5. Delete that folder in your results.
  6. Start up the game and return to your guild hall to access the UI.
    I’ve tossed in a screenshot of the search part in case folks want to see the file, etc.

Thank you guys for the questions and continued concerns about the WvW missions and the Oasis event. I apologize to you all that these changes didn’t make it into the notes so you all might have prepared yourselves a bit. I’ve gathered a little more information for you that hopefully will explain a little more about the decisions.

It has been explained to me that up till today that players in WvW encountered consistently poor performance issues when the Oasis event would run on the maps. Our server team tried several potential solutions in an attempt to stabilize this, as did the WvW team with content adjustments – but neither side was able to stabilize performance with the things they implemented. We have been attempting adjustments every few weeks, and with each attempt the performance was not improved.

Rather than making many players suffer longer under the performance issues while we continue to look for a fix that works, the decision was made as a team to disable the event. And as the guild mission was tied to this event and had been experiencing issues, we took it out of the rotations till both our teams (WvW and Guilds) can see to it being fixed. I cannot offer an eta for a fix at this time.

From the Guilds team, we currently have no plans to pull additional WvW missions. And we’re still actively investigating issues and looking into potential (and stable) fixes for all our mission (and reward) issues. Thank you again everyone and may the rest of your day and week be filled with relaxation and/or the slaughtering of your enemies.

Concerning the Guild Challenge Mission for the Oasis:
I spoke today with folks involved with WvW and I’ve been told that we’ve removed the Oasis Event from WvW as of today’s release. Along with this, the WvW team has removed the WvW Guild Challenge Mission with the Oasis Event and caused the guild missions to reset.

Once members of the guild have picked up the new build, the guild missions should not include the Guild Challenge Mission for the Oasis. If the mission is still there after everyone has grabbed our most recent build (patch/release), please let us know and I’ll talk to the team again to see if something has gone astray.

When your guild reaches level 40, you can try to obtain the Notary upgrade “Further Exploration”. This will open up pathways to allow access to that upper region. When this happens, you will also discover a new waypoint that will appear in the center of that nice round area in OneEyedIrishman’s screenshot. This is why you cannot place a decoration in that specific spot.
