Aight so i didn’t completely read all the replies but here’s what anet would do.

They would tell you people are allowed to play as they please, large groups are a thing people like to play in, thus, you’re not getting a debuff for large groups, or a buff for small groups. Either way introduces a power creep for those who don’t wanna see it and it ruins a large guilds fun.
They may change their minds in the future, but as it stands now, no.

TL;DR For 2 years anets stance on large or small group buffs relative to numbers has been, NO!

2) SLOW – mesmers are so slow… you can get by this using a focus or traveler runes but that limits your build options. For a class that has light armor then they should move faster than they do – it is easier for other classes to run away from you when they are losing

Yeah, everyone told me that. But i used to play a roaming Necro… and is a lot worse about mobility.

But mesmer’s blink and stealth is enough for me. That is a lot, a LOT more than Necro mobility and a free card to get out of bad situations.

What about centaur runes for power mesmer? That works?

Centaur runes work great. With the runes you can actually move around the map pretty quickly as long as blink doesn’t fail.

Why blink would fail?

Because sometimes it randomly does. I think it has issues with terrain also sometimes, but i dont play one to know that.

When i’m roaming and someone from my team gets emote spammed i try to chase that offender down, kill them, then /sit on their face.

When an enemy group outnumbers us greatly and spams emotes because we’re in a tower, then we wipe them with or without siege (doesn’t matter), they get one /laugh.

People who disengage and reengage constantly, I usually just /wave at them like “byeee”

Then sometimes I’m angry as kitten and I jus run around going berserk and being ignorant, there is no method to that madness tho.

If making it so npc’s can cross a bridge is a “change” and not a “shouldn’t have been broken in the freakin first place” then i’ve pretty much lost all faith in everything now.

The hackers are running the show and ruining it for everyone else. When people say “roamer” I think “hacker” since I run into so many when I’m roaming. They are everywhere. Guy ran right thru a 20 man zerg solo….never slowed, and his health bar hardly wiggled.

A lot of folks just are not coming into WvW because they are tired of fights they can not win because of the rampant cheating. Why is it so hard to report someone for hacking? Shouldn’t there be a “hacking” option in the report function?

I’ve been round wvw a while now.

Outside a certain server or two, from EU i believe, who had rampant hacking and cheating going on, I have heard of no one leaving the game because of hacking. If you are facing one of those servers, then yes, I feel sorry for you, but this is not a wvw plague or anything.

Dude, guardian shelter and renewed focus would get him though any amount of slightly unaware players (I’ve done it before, cool down management ftw)…..and long as the tail was short enough, war can do it too, ele is capable of it, hell a ranger might pull it off if they got the proper setup.

Lastly, I don’t take anyone’s word for “the roamer was hacking”. I’ve 1v2 or 3’d people with a standard axe/sh gs war build and they’ve called hax on me, I put sw/sh gs on my war with the purpose of trolling people, led them around their own bl a while, they called me a hacker. I’m hardly a stellar player, but even worse with my pc.

I do not see the wvw you see.

People organizing to avoid fights though, that turns my stomach. Go to some PvE zone if you are completely unwilling to fight.

If only said PvE zones and dungeons weren’t nerfed so hard. If only flipping keeps wasn’t the best (and one of the few) way of obtaining dragonite, and flipping all objectives the best way of obtaining karma. People will optimize whatever can help them get to where they want faster, and EotM is no exception.

Full disclosure: I am in said guild, but I have not gone back to Edge for almost a month since my last alt hit 80. Just like I have zero issue with you defending, I have zero issue with coordinating to avoid fights and maximize rewards. Additionally, if your presence is hindering the progression of people on all sides, I have no issue if they band together to try to stop you. When pressure from defenders is too great, we would take a break or find another overflow. It’s recommended you do the same when your defense keeps getting shut down.

So you’re advocating enemy teams working together to kill members of your own side, because they dare to play the game as intended?

Honestly, if siege trolls, supply sappers, second account spies/ tag watchers and TS ddos attacks aren’t getting people in trouble in regular wvw, abusing eotm for profit isn’t gunna get you a slap on the wrist.

I could dig it. Not a huge reward over those who didn’t transfer, and not a terrible reward for staying imo.

It’s not really new at all.

It’s just not that super fun to run around with 5 thieves all the time blasting people all day everyday, but it gets you some kills.

But sometimes thieves roaming around just end up running together and some random magic that messes people up starts to happen. Sometimes a guild or group decides the wanna run around in stealth by taking a couple thieves with em and bursting out of it.

So it’s not really new, just something a group will do for a bit until they get bored and then they move on to something else.

The fact emotes can show up in chat is kittened in itself. I never spam emotes to annoy/troll anyone, if someone is actually annoyed by something so insignificant then that’s their dang problem. Some emotes just look hilarious if you spam them really fast, and If I want to do that on a few occasions then I have the dang right to do so.

Just create a tab with for all the usual chat (say, map, guild, etc) and another tab with the same, but also emotes. Use that tab, when someone spams, go to the other tab without the emotes. PROBLEM SOLVED. Leave bans for people that actually deserve it.

More people should be trying to make eotm more interesting and providing some decent scraps, instead of the k-train (and the whining about it without making an effort to do anything about it). I’ve ran into more than one commander who goes out of there way to get their zerg some bags, even just booby-trapping keeps with some AC’s real quick.

Needs to happen more often imo, kudos to you.

I just don’t feel like you should be dieing enough to make it effective unless you suicide a bunch to stack it, which really, just feeds the enemy points anyways.

I also believe somewhere anet has said they’ll never add any kind of stat boost to outnumbered.

This build looks interesting, ill give it a try with my trusty a/d s/t combo because I’ve been trying to mix it up and look for a crazy setup for solo roam. And I’ve just started playing BM ranger again.

This condi burst build I love to play tho, concentrates on weap swaps to stack bleeds, possibility of maintaining perma poison (what warriors??), pet damge, large amounts of evades and dodges, stacks condi, toughness, healing and a bit of regen. The original RRR build stacked healing on sigils and runes, I run afflicted runes and stack corruption for more bang.
It’s pretty much my old faithful for roaming tbh and hardly ran it for a few months, back at er tho, and successfully.

First pet is either wolf or hound, second, pick cat or bird (i’m biased to bird)

Some builds kind of hard counter this build and some will trouble you a lot——-good nade engi’s who deny the space around them properly, straight up phantasm mesmers, for some reason d/d thieves are rough(for me anyways), condi thieves are a good fight, necros also provide a really good fight, if you screw up landing a few too many skills, a 1 minute scrap can turn into 3-4 minutes of messy condi sharing that you’ll probably end up loosing.

Notes: Build used to be better before pets got nerfed to the ground, raven f2 would hit like a truck.

Run runes of dwayna if you’re nervous about being too light in regen (both afflicted and dwayna are like 6 silver)

For Bm grandmaster, i still have to to experiment with AoE heals on pet skills, which I’ll test out tonight and in the morning.

WS adept and BM master traits could also be switched out for an extra 30% or so uptime on vigor (needs to be experimented with also).

I’ve looked into torment sigils and stacking some extra precision to proc those, but the loss doesn’t seems to play off.

Random things I don’t think people covered, just add this to your notes.

If you’re scouting for your guild, run a fake tag, so enemies don’t know who is going there or which guild is planning an attack.

Depending on the tier and discipline of an enemy zerg your looking at possibly getting right up to 1000 units near them(seen thief scouts who would go right into an enemy zerg for minutes at a time). If you can, find out which enemy is leading/commanding, try and get that info to your leader. Mostly, tail a good 2-5k units away from the enemy side and too the back kind of like a caster would in a fight, but at massive range. Slip in and out, use the ruins to move faster as zergs tend to move around them or directly straight through. Also, ruins let you get height views nicely, while running off to the edge of the map just doesn’t let you recover as easily and go right back to scouting. On that note though, sometimes, specially if the enemies caught onto your scouting, make up some really stupid long paths that don’t make any sense. If 20 enemies want to chase a scout from s/e camp to the minotaurs, LET EM, that’s your win.

As the guy above me said, “30 x headed west from s/e tower to s ruins”, is very quick and easy to type and informative. And follow up, check if that team goes s camp or to s/w tower, and keep the commander informed.

If you know your guild or map hopper zerg is going to a boarderland, pre scout. Run past your near keep (i’ll say hills), path somewhat like s/e camp, s/e tower, s hills, along west side of hills, n hills s/e garri, n/e camp, n/e tower and n/w garri. Repeat other side of map. Find out, structure tiers, seige, or lack of (for each gate), note where you seen enemies (on the field and scouts, note how many go to get a camp, how many scout each structure.) and which structures may have been forgotten about a bit (cannons and oil not built, partially dmged gates). Amount of supply, a 700 keep for ex. with certain siege up (reinforced/ cannons oil mortar i think) will probably mean someone is trying to wp that keep, it might end up being heavily defended or heavily demoralizing for an enemy to loose.Things like no mortars or AC’s to defend hills west cata wall, might be helpful to know too/

Get good at tagging gates, for my ranger I used swoop, double dodge to gate switch to sword, lightning reflex and sword leap out. I like tagging gates, learn to love it because I know how irritating and how much people absolutely despise someone who would waste time hitting structures just to make it look attacked or block wp’s. Also, be ready to block wp’s on demand (for commanders), and get good at feeling out and timing out 3 minutes, to try and keep keeps perma contested.

The spaces between keeps will be the sketchiest ones, basically around SM on the paths to each keep and between s garrison and the keep below it will be hotspots of people running down to their keeps or to reinforce zergs. Either way, don’t play around there if you don’t want to end up dealing with a duel or something. on that note, hiding near these places can let you know enemy numbers moving around (supply runners or dead run backs)

Ranger tip, lightning reflex, sword 2, about face, sword 2, switch to gs, swoop, massive gap maker if you need.

Ever since mid of season one, I haven’t been able to last long on EBG without turning model limit to medium and quality to lowest.
I’m fine everywhere else, large world events, 3 way lag fest garri fights, all on auto detect, but EBG is a whole different ball game. It seems when I come around certain corners in that place(wildcreek always gets me comming out of rogues or dredge) where as soon as I turn the corner, BAM dc, but I’m fine with the previous setting I mentioned.
Could be my pc, but other people I’ve told about this have had a little more success staying connected.

Hopefully this helps for the times being, but anet really needs to check up on this.

If they lock the doors, it will be sad, cuz it’s better than t1, every single person that has come from kitten AR with free trans, including myself, has enjoyed themselves so much more. AR is nice in bronze and I’m not even sure most of us would want to go back up into silver anyways. I’ve had this exact issue/experience over the last few weeks.
Jumping toons, very frequently, just little hops, I move fine from my view and people say it looks like I’m lagging a little bit.
It also isn’t always bad, but I do small man ops in wvw all day, larger group stuff around 6pm server time and it always feels I’m in and out of this laggy stuff.
Sometimes a 3 way fight and sm goes off without any problems. Yet not much earlier I would have been experiencing jumpy toons in a 15v15 somewhere.
I’m not very tech savvy so I’m not sure how to get info about this, but it is extremely irritating and hope it gets dealt with in upcoming patch.

AR is a freakin great place, one week here, some culture shock and some kitten kicking has made me realize I should have never left this place.
Like bigger scraps, we get those, like roaming? A ton of that to be done, whether for havok or just for 1v1’s, you’ll be satisfied with the fights and impact you’ll have.

When it comes to structure to structure siege, the only tower that needs help in the whole game, is South East tower on the borderlands. It’s pretty much just a tower under a rock in a hole. Specially with the bloodlust area now, there’s no reason for hills to be able to treb it. The open field spots to long siege are plenty, and at least a smaller group can run out and suicide them.
I just feel like south towers are staging towers, for further pushes, but it’s near impossible, if your not fast or unstoppable when you hit the east side.

All around and on south ruins island before patch.

A buddy and I pretty much face planted into a group of 5 randoms, and got two of them downed and stealth stomped.

With 3 left, we split off trying to loose as many as possible. Ran out towards south camp with a war and ranger on me, looped around one side. The thief chased my friend, who was playing condi thief, and just as I rolled around, almost dead, he stomps the thief, and pulls the ranger off me. Rinse repeat, kill warrior.

Later on the ranger joined our party to actually be really cool and ask us if we were hacking or not, we told him it was a little coordination and a little luck that helped us win. We all shrugged it off and went on our way.

Just leveled my ele from 20 to 80 in about 45 hours with s/d, all glassy and such.

Good risky fun

Fill out nabarue’s traits as best you can as you go, and all will be well. I stacked “strong” armor and equivalent stats on accessories the whole time.
