For example:
how is it even possible that a mesmer illusion is hitting the same dmg then some highest burst attack of other classes?

My Illusions are hitting for 0-4 dmg per hit.

Not sure if trolling or just plain stupid.

It`s not direct dmg that counts, It`s bleeding they apply. I have 57% crit chance and trait Sharper images (illusions inflict bleeding on crit hit). My clones apply vuln or bleed on hit plus one more bleed on crit (and they crit a lot), so if you have 3 clones out and Staff in your hands (with Sigil of Earth – 60% chance to apply 5 sec bleed on crit) it`s really easy to stack up more than 10 stacks of bleeds in only few seconds.

I know that because im playing nearly the same build. But thats defintely no burst damage and can easily be countered by removing conditions.

Edit: Oh and our Phantasms actually are our high dmg burst attacks.

problem is that people will start to AFK battlegrounds stating that they “defend” while leeching exp.

Same problem persisted in wow.

More game modes please, including duels.

I would like to get a “Last man Standing” gamemode with random queue. Everybody has 3 Lives and only the last one alive on the map gets exp/points.

Why can't I PVP with my friends in the Battle Grounds?

This is my first time posting criticism/feedback on any game like this, but I have just spent a good amount of time gettingkitten off at this so I feel I have to leave my 2 cents.

I completely understand why the battlegrounds are designed this way, and I would be okay with it, if the system did not try to fit me into the same battlegrounds as my friends all the time. I am part of a very small guild of friends, and I saw one of my friends doing battleground so I decided to do some as well. I queued on my own, not even in the same party as my guild friend, yet we ended up in the same battleground.

That was fine, I guess, until that game was over and we got thrown into a new one. This time I had been moved to the other team. I got a bit annoyed so I exited the game, waited a few minutes, and re-queued. I got thrown into the same game once again, together with my guildmate, but on the opposite them of him. No matter how many times I try to re-queue now, I still end up in the same game as him.

This might be a case of extremely bad luck, but if the match making system insists on putting me in the same game as my guildmates, at least let me play on their team. I don’t care if I’m put into another game with a bunch of strangers, as long as I’m not forced to keep playing against my friends every time I happen to do battlegrounds at the same time as them. Please, at least give us an option to play alone if this is how it’s supposed to work.

Where is the problem exactly?

Just dont use hotjoin and select a Server by urself. Fixed!

Aside of that why wouldnt you simply play against ur buddy for 1 or 2 rounds?

Why is PvP so simple? Is this supposed to be fun?

i would so incredibly stomp you in sPVP that it would take like 2 minutes for another “Mesmer is so OP QQ” thread to open up on forums.

buying a ssd wont fix your problem and i bet u already knew that. I guess its related to your SLI configuration. SLI is not well supported in most games because its bullkitten technology.

i’ve got the same issue and it’s one of the most annoying things ever, it might have something to do with autotargeting being turned off but i don’t know

My god I come back after being out for a bit and seems like a bunch of randoms have wandered in to spread misinformation O.o

Primarily, the Mesmer is a support Profession (a force multiplier, focussed mainly on the application of Conditions – in more standard MMO terms a debuff class), with high survivability and harrassment capability in PvP, and a lot of tools in its toolbox. Again, if this doesn’t sound interesting, then don’t play a Mesmer, and don’t pollute the forums with calls to turn the Mesmer into some other class that you’d like to play.

In my experience the mesmer is a damage profesion with ramp up time that also brings amazing utility. As a support profession you lose out to guardian, warrior, engineer and ele (providing he’s built right).

I’ve been playing a mesmer for awhile now(80) and we are a unfinished class. I challenge anyone to pick a grand master skill that is extremely valuable compared to just putting 20 into a slot.
Mantras are terrible and should be removed.
The synergy between our talents skills and weapons need to be completely rethought. Engineers have similar problems.

Mantra’s are awful, the trait trees don’t support them either. Grantmaster traits are situational, there are a few times you would use them though again they are in odd places (phantasm based tree with a shatter based GM skill :O). If you think we are unfinished you haven’t played a mesmer in SPvP, we are imo T1 for that.

Illusions are supposed to die quickly. You should not land more then 1 of their special attack when you summon them.

In what fantasy land are you from O.o If you dont have 2 phantasms out at all times as a mesmer your doing it wrong. That or your running a very specific shatter spec.

You people really need to try one of the 10/20/0/25/0 +15 variants and realize just howkittenpowerful a mesmer, and its illusions, truly are.

WORD! This one knows what hes talking about.

Anyone else think SPvP is a mess?

well if your following the zerg in sPVP your doing it wrong. Most of the time im capturing free nodes while everybody else is zerging somewhere else on the map. Easy win …

this game is definitely designed to usw WASD to move that should fix ur problem

and this also works for pve with slightly modified traits.

Mesmers are fine the way they are.

Well when you move your camera or view off your target the focus or target disappears and you stop fighting.

i have to admit that i dont have any problems with targeting?

If you locked on a target (tab) it should be locked until the enemy goes into stealth or creates mesmer illusions.

Maybe you have a hotkey unintentionality assigned that somehow breaks ur target?

Hey Guys,

after reading a few other posts about how “weak” a mesmer in PVP is i thought i just might share my PVP build. I mostly play sPVP and win around 90% of the 1on1s i get into. You also have a chance to win some 2on1 situations depending on the enemys skill and their classes.

My build is based on the “Bleeding on illusion Crit” trait you can get out of the Dueling Tree. In combination with stacked conditional damage you can get up to 12-18 stacks of bleeding (ticking for 105 dmg per second) on your opponent just from constantly spawning illusions while kiting/stealthing/dodging your enemy.

Please realize that this build is not really a close combat build because you will get destroyed in a few hits by most meeles. The key to success is to pull out as many illusions (NOT/NO Phantasms) as you can. Most important to archive a massive flow of illusions is the “Spawn illusion on dogde” trait.

What you do:

Kite the enemy with your stealth/illusions until blurred frenzy is off cd. Use illusionary leap and switch position with your leaps illusion to root the enemy. As soon as the enemy is rooted Use blurred frenzy to deal damage. As soon as blurred frenzy is on cd again start kiting and spawning illusions.

This build needs a lot of proper timing but as soon as you get a feeling for it people will go mad at you because they simply get swarmed by an army of your clones crippling them again and again and again while your sitting back kiting, healing and waiting for your cds to get off cd and go close quarter again.
