I guess the Arsonist elite spec wif Torch could get Amaterasu and set an area on fire with black flame that causes heavy aoe power/crit damage with a unique burn condi that can’t be removed and jumps to nearby enemies if they get too close while burning. I just want to set the world on fire.

Looks like a same old basic staff build that’s existed since beta/launch. There’s not a lot of good traitline options so it’s pretty common sense.
It’s like catching the loch ness monster on film. Don’t think an Anet Thief has been seen before in any content on live server.
They gave up on water so hard that they forgot to finish rev’s.
All I know is I’m very often hit while Vaulting which broke a lot of joy I had with this weapon when I realized I may not be able to use it in high lvl Spvp play at all.
Which is why I been gearing up my Necro and using him for Fractals and will be using him for Raids. Pretty ironic situation really. Insane amounts of Survivability and Damage and much less effort. Less effort for all other classes with more pay-off.

Only time Anet generally takes action against players for abusing an exploit is if it leads to an obvious unintentional gain in money/items. Like buying an item for 1 gold that sells to npc for 2 gold and repeating it. Stuff like a trick to make a dungeon/mission easier is usually ignored till they fix it. Can’t really help fully without more details though.
The fact that we can toggle anything should make people happy, and if Anet never added these shoes, none of this QQ would be here.
It’s a rare drop off something you can only run into with a mastery, think of it instead as a extra “prize” you might be able to get.
Imagine if they were account bound….. which easily could have been done. And like others have mentioned, prices will fluctuate, and they depend on the community demand. If people will pay 1.5k gold, then great, doesn’t mean you have to.
People have been asking for toggles for all pieces of armor since the beginning. They been slowly adding it in one piece at a time but stopped at shoes/chest. The whole reason the shoes were added was because it was widely requested constantly. But instead of adding a toggle it feels more like they added it in a way to spite everyone who’s constantly pestered them for it. “Fine! you can hide your shoes now, good luck getting it through. Now get out of my office!” :O Wanted it for my Heavy armor mostly since majority of the feet armor are huge boots.
@Doggie
I can think of at least another 2 that arent trenchcoats (or have a skirt).
Nope.avi
Funny how people always try to say that though when it’ll never be true.

Both have skirts, dude so thanks for adding to the funny business. So I wont have a nice day regarding this. Tired of them making my weapons clip, making my Sylvari’s butt look big and getting snagged on bushes and other random objects when I’m running around so I’m locked into Glorious forever.
Those are skirts o.o….?
Yes.
I could never reset my heart. I love everyone who’s filled it.
I did it relatively easy, personally, multiple times when I was bored and felt like helping a guildy do it on my Mesmer. I’ve done all of the JPs in game, and even the ones nolonger in game multiple times and none of them are really unreasonable, outside of the sheer length of Tribulation SAB W2Z2-3.
Hardest part to me is the pillars under the ship which apparently I learned are skippable if you jump on the pipes below the end of the pillars and use blink next to the platform. That and succeeding the diving challenge since I had to keep porting people back up to retry it. Only way to do it generally stems from watching the video 100x first. The vertical bouncy pads also succeed more often if you start running forward 0.5 seconds before it triggers. The horizontal ones work better if you make sure you’re standing on them only while they’re completely still.

lol, figures.
I wish they would fix it. Cuz it makes me angry+sick every time I see an unnamed Ranger pet. It disgusts me to see them neglect their loving companions just because they’re too lazy to rewrite the name in.
I mistook their pets for new HoT ones a few times when I was looking for them as well.
If you play Male Sylvari you can romance both Trehearne and Canach.
But Thief can stancedance with their F2 with Improvisation.

Someone listed the medium boots for 1.5k on the TP, still there. Wonder if they’ll sell.
They will.
So aside from being super time gated by event to farm it, does actually getting the drop involve super RNG like getting an ascended box drop?
Not really. You pretty much move the corsair to that guy and that guy is your target. It’s like Counter Strike now.
Arrrrg
Hey, talk like a pirate day was over two months ago!
Just cuz they do pirate-ish stuff doesn’t always make them a pirate.

They announced a while back that armor sets are now in game earnable only and that means needing the HoT expansion and the Gem Shop will be outfits only. Back pieces are not considered to be armor for whatever reason. And neither are glider skins.
But they rarely add new Armor sets earn-able in-game. They did the Glorious armor and that’s about it, meaning I’ll never have a chance at more diverse medium armor chest skins (skirtless male stuff) since the focus is 100% on outfits. I don’t really count HoT expansion as being an addition on-par with their Outfit releases, and the armors pretty crummy with nothing new or unique about them. Leyline is unique in the aspect that it looks like a Chak s*** all over you and it solidified into concrete.
Till the core/universal game receives new skins at least monthly it’s all pretty much bull. People buy gold through gems so cmon, even if you make them insanely overpriced like racial it’d be better then the current situation which = never happens.
(edited by Doggie.3184)
My male Sylvari does.
It’s just eating away at my heart and soul every time I see a new trenchcoat.
It’s literally causing me emotional trauma at this point. I felt both depression and intense rage when I saw the new HoT medium.
Range skills lock on with tab when you’re using action cam. They are hard to land without targeting enemy. Some skills also require a target in general to work. Thief doesn’t have skills like that though that I can think of atm.
Still wearing the same exact thing since Anet made it very clear that this would be the only skirtless chest piece I’ll ever have access to for the rest of eternity. Even if I pay 50 dollars for an expansion it’s still not enough for another one to them.
Joking aside, pretty sure both DH’s and Rev’s will be toned down… between now and the next 3 years ofc.
In three years when they redesign the trait system again to just be a straight line.
Esports live broadcast then: 10 players with their heads on their keyboards.
(gif brought into my hands by Zero btw)
You can catch a glimpse of his screen, and he’s playing a DH.
Nah, this is how you play DH. You just take a nap in your traps and wait for silly teef to steal to u and ded.
Lifeshroud’s power within it repels Deathshroud’s.
Would they come in groups? Multiple Pocket Raptors?
You forgot the most important rule for fighting a DH:
YOU DON"T FIGHT A DH
Joking aside, pretty sure both DH’s and Rev’s will be toned down… between now and the next 3 years ofc.

The problem with dragonhunter traps isn’t only low base health classes but you can imagine how much fun these traps are in zergfights.
But anet apperantly has said long ago that they won’t balance wvw, which they then did which brought us the pirate ship meta (ranged zergfights).
So yeah.. whatever, I guess.
They’re fun in wvw zergs but keep those heal buttons ready cuz Retaliation hurts like hell. :x
It’s Anets way of getting Thieves to use dual pistols since it’s only way to dmg them enough from range. If hard to catch wasn’t on an awful traitline then it’d be nice for saving you from pull. It’s also a horrible idea to steal to them.
It’s funny how strong DH is though when it’s the spec everyone hated when they saw it. That’s what happens when something about a popular class is widely hated. It gets turbopowered buffs or something. Thief is unpopular in theme though since we’re profiled criminals and spit on by society. They’re supposed to be Heroes and they were; they defeated Zhaitan. However, they lived long enough to become the villain and got beaten by the Nerfbatman.
I recommend using “snap to target ground targeting” from main options. Also action cam. I thought this too until made those changes, now I find it ridiculously awesome.
Snap to ground target guarantees you to miss unless the target stops moving. The radius of vault is much smaller than the distance your target covers during the vast delay before the damage occuring.
^
I found it easier to hit people using Action cam, personally. But I can’t use it at my feet when I want to in that mode, which annoys me at times, which snap to target fixes… but hitting people in distance with that mode on is 100x worse.
I had a lot of problems though where I’d get hit during Vault, as well as the moment I land before being able to dodge afterwards.
(edited by Doggie.3184)
It’s called Nerfbat. It’s been nerfed so many times it nolonger performs it’s original role. So instead of fixing it Anet changed it’s role to +1.
Not only is the Dungeon nerf sad but I’m disappointed HoT area doesn’t have any new 5man dungeons to do for XP, Tokens, etc. They coulda just lowered reward for super easy dungeon paths and upped the ones for harder if they needed to do anything. I generally didn’t farm the same paths all the time and did them for fun way to get money, xp and tokens when I was bored of SW and etc. I find myself in HoT zones getting bored of events after doing them so many times and wish there was a Dungeon I could do for XP there.
Dodge a rapid fire or other multi hit effects and enjoy all of the cleanse ever. DD was meant to be played as an evasive team fight brawler, or at least that was what anet was trying to aim for. Don’t run DD if you still wanna be the +1 back capper.
??
You’re talking like the trait is good. You still only clear one condition per dodge.
A dodge lasts .75 seconds
Cooldown for that trait is 1 second.you have to waste two dodges to clear two conditions on a rapid fire.
And people still think that’s op.
Successful evades* if it was on dodge then it might be great. Anet insists on punishing dodge Thieves for dodging w/o procing evade though.
It sounds like it’s amazing but it’s actually not as great as I hoped when I dueled a bunker condi Thief a few times and still couldn’t cleanse all the bleeds reliably enough. And to struggle vs 2 dmg conditions it’s pretty bleh.
(edited by Doggie.3184)
I find it laughable that this is what we are offered for condition removal, being given such a uselessly low condi removal amounts, other classes have utilities, such as guardian which will convert ALL their conditions into boons, or traits that remove 3 conditions usually, even rangers can clear 13 conditions entering their avatar mode.
Thieves have to choose traits to remove 1 condition on successful evade, not even on dodge or remove one condition when using a trick, or stay in stealth and be utterly useless waiting for condis to tick down.
How abysmal our condi removal options are forces us to take traits to survive that are sub optimal. the amount of times i get condi burst, attempt to clear them all and die slowly to bleed/burning/torment ticks as the other player can walk away laughing is just ridiculous.
I think having our condi removal traits buffed to at least 2 or 3 conditions would help massively with keeping us in fights without being QQ`d for being stealth bots.
/end rant
Full Glyph Druid also has a Heal that removes 2 conditions 19s CD, 3 Utilities that each remove 2 conditions 16-24s CD~ and an Elite that cures 2 conditions on 24s CD , all with DMG, Stunbreaks, CC, Heal, self and team support and all other diverse needs. Now that is a good universal trait. Unlike Thief Utilities which can’t have a whole category ran cuz no stunbreaks, condi removal, etc in any of them.
(edited by Doggie.3184)
I play Thief for everything but tend to use something else for Spvp and Fractals unless I’m really bored. Which is usually Reaper… cuz it’s just too easy to steamroll harder content with them. Well for most classes it would be compared to Thief. Probably have to use something else than Thief for Raids.
Shoulda been more specific, like a Mini Karka. :P
Been wanting that thing since they were added cuz I love water critterz too much.
I was playing with Quagga in EotM when I was lvling elite spec. Always fun seeing them in game.
On one hand, it’s nice that a long-awaited feature has finally been implemented (though really there should be a visibility toggle for every armor piece. RIFT can do it, why not GW2?). On the other hand – a rare drop? Why, ANET?
At least put it on the cash shop, I bet that would create a more predictable stream of RMT revenue.
Wildstar happy lets you hide any armor piece straight from the menu. Why Anet why? Giant Coats and Shoes are bulliez. Almost have Stealth Detection lvl’d though so hopefully getting them is possible.

Pretty accurate.
You just need more practice and I’m sure you’ll be a professional ninja in no time and control all variations of speed with ease. I believe in you.
Positive game design helps build a positive community. No fighting over loot with stupid item rolls and guild point systems and other silly things. Game just encourages good old fashioned fun Teamwork.
Acrobatics is pretty awful. The vigor minors outshine the actual traits (horrible compared to feline grace) and Hard to Catch is ironicly the only good one (ironic since it used to be one of the worst traits in game). Power of Inertia being removed gives very little access to might with stealthless evade builds.
Haven’t found much reason to try Critical Strikes a whole lot. No Quarter is neat and all but didn’t feel necessary enough. Pistol traits are all gone except this single one which doesn’t save the P/P weapon set, I don’t really use signet builds, IP was only really cool with Ricochet~ nothing really stands out to me anymore.

That pose actually has nothing to do with anime. Its used alot in Naruto, yeah, but its a real life practice of making your body ready for a jump.
Pose has nothing to do with anime -> then mentions an anime that uses it a lot -> logic?
Nice ninja skillz, OP.
omg. can you please tell us where/from what kind of creature you’ve got them?
ikr. kinda rude.
What do you mean Base one? I got the Shield Consumable Skin from Weapon box but I used it on my Ascended Shield~ then found out about these Gold Skins needing a Fractal Weapon to make it so now I feel like I wasted it and confused.

idk why people disliked Trehearne. He did a lot of things you as the MC couldn’t and didn’t just force takeover and steal all the credit like people think. He’s the one who studied Orr his whole life while you knew nothing about it. He’s the one who knew how to use the sword to weaken Zhaitan. And he shared this Info with you and built you an army to back you up, since you were the strongest fighter that could lead it. He makes it very clear that he isn’t a fighter and needs your help and it should be obvious that you need his.
He was the typical JRPG Zhuge Liang strategist who helps you through the game and does all the planning and organization for everything behind the scenes and brings the important decisions to you, and of course lets you lead all the fights as the commander of the army.
In the end he showed how much of a natural he was at slaying Dragons by revealing Mordremoth’s weakness. Sad that he couldn’t be saved. :[
Now they just need to add a similar face to his to makeover kit like they did with Tybalt, cuz that’s another awesome thing about him. :s
(edited by Doggie.3184)
Weakness is often very underrated/underestimated. It’s a very strong condition and the reduction % is always the same. Lotus poison is actually one of the reasons I liked my old DD venom build a lot and I could 1v1 anyone and shrug off all those heavy hits. But now I don’t need it anymoar.
BTW you should see Reaper now… Weakness AOE Spam + Chilled enemies do less DMG + Minions lower dmg by 50% makes them so insanely tanky. ;x Crazyness.
Since it’s only Ascended Tier it’s Anets way of saying Legendary Armor will be this x10 and cost 10-20k+ gold.
Congratz on wedding. Lotta RL relationships and marriages started online somewhere nowadayz, myself included, so a good way to keep in touch.
This defeats the “People who play online games never will get married” nonsense!
Too bad interesting players I meet are guys…
Well, same sex marriage is legal naow.
