Corrupter’s fervor actually pops up almost instantly because of vulnerability and chill application. I was pretty surprised too.
I was thinking about setting my Reaper up for pug Raid tanking. I’m able to get over 1800 toughness with just Cavalier Trinkets and a Soldier’s GS. What traits are people running? Taking Blood Magic and Death Magic seems like it nerfs my damage too much. I’m thinking about Blood/Soul Reaping/Reaper so I can stay in shroud for a long time have vampirism support and access to Foot in the Grave.
What are other people doing?

Of course then I linked my Death Magic build… Like I said I can’t really decide.
What was your third line instead of Alchemy?
Nevermind, I think I see a couple of different builds in here?

The problem is the tiny animation can be obscured by the stun effect. When a Reaper Freezes a Rev for example. The block of ice completely obscures it.
^^ sure, but you must know that marauder scrapper is only created with every defensive trait lines (alchemy: condi remove+boons/inevntions: high healing-bunker down/scrapper: rapid regen, adaptive armor..) then add high power coeficient on hammer skills, many surv abilities and this is it.
You can use high cc pressure(lack of stability). Or shoot down his hp under 25%(3 sec god mini elixir) he will loose 1 heal(under 25% heal skill reset). I know him deep so my nades always eat him
If I take anything from this video I would tend to take that it looks like Scrapper needs a mobility buff. Given that the Scrapper in this video was within striking distance of that Ranger for about what felt like 10 seconds in the 3 minutes of that fight. Kind of looks like the Scrapper needs the ability to tank otherwise that fight would have been more one-sided than it looked…. and it looked one-sided.
This must be a troll.
1. You’re talking about on of the best Power Rangers and Druids in game… He’s fighting against Scrapper which barely knows his class.
2. This is conquest game and imagine how this duel may looks like if they fight on the point (Scrapper full cap point or Ranger dies in less than 60sec).
3. Scrapper was playing WITHOUT with Slicky Shoes, if he takes it… ranger is dead.
4. Scrapper was playing WITHOUT Sneaky Gyro, because it’s not allowed on the 1v1 server… he’s immortal with this elite. For a sec there I thought the title was referring to that ranger :/
This is not about who won this duel… duel shows how OP scrapper is, even if newbie or bad player using it.
Who cares? The Ranger had 100% health at the end of the video how are we supposed to take any lesson away from it? You even point out that the Stealth Gyro is all the Scrapper has and they just DOUBLED the cooldown. Post a video where scrapper kills that Ranger then we’ll talk.
I’ve been using Dothraken as a surname for my characters since before Skyrim and before I read GoT. I started doing it in Pen and Paper D&D campaigns.
The reason it turns up in GoT and Skyrim is that it is from Norse languages and sort of means Death Touch.
Yeah, I don’t understand why people aren’t more excited about this. It is a durable version of Viper. Could be very interesting for Necro especially in a more hybrid setup.
Yeah I understand, I guess signet is better in roaming WvW. In PvP it drives me crazy outside of a signet build because of all the conditions I pull off of allies.
Can you actually kill people?
hmmm yes.
I’ve been running this build for a couple of days / hours now and my record for 1 vs 1 is:
- S/D daredevil (dragonfinisher) = I win after about 10-15mins (he was very sporting though, didn’t run out of combat even when I got him low on health)
- Staff/Sword+Dagger druid = Draw after about 20 mins (he stopped fighting first. I stopped after. We were both still at full health)
- Hammer Revenant = I win after about 10-15 mins (they always try to run…but only when its too late)
- D/D shortbow daredevil = Fight got interrupted about 10mins in but I had the upper hand at almost full HP and he was at half HP
- Staff scepter torch Chronomancer = Fight got interrupted about 30 mins in but he had the upper hand at almost full HP and I was at half HP
- DD Tempest = I lose after 30 mins
This is the most boring thing I’ve ever heard. I can’t imagine this being fun for more than one day for the novelty.
People that are complaining about this change need to understand that it is less about it being OP and more about it being mechanically dumb. It doesn’t interact well with other Sigils or Procs or Runes or anything really. Flat immunity is uninteresting.
Can you post your full build?
i’m also curious why Signet instead of “Suffer!”?
Ran into a team once that had 2 mesmers syncing their split so our entire team got lifted into 4 gravity wells while the rest of their team applied stupid aoe condition and stripped from stability by necro aoe boonstrip + rev boon strip.
With this ballance, 2 mesmer 1 necro 1 rev on mid = gg everytime.
Don’t go mid?
Stranger still he hits 3 different targets…
You can do that too …? ö.ö
I meant it doesn’t auto on different targets like Revenant sword 3. That’s what it looks like it does in the trailer.
Remove 1 condition every 5 seconds while affected by Protection.
Can you actually kill people?
Interesting. On my Reaper I always ignore the adds and just drop the lord. I’ll have to look at moving around a little more.
Not sure what you expected.
I forgot how OP Reaper is against dumb targets. LOL
Moving becomes a novel concept if you play Reaper too much.
I was trying to get help with power builds though :C. Oh and is there a better line than firearms? I’m using it for the swiftness and the extra damage and the fury (the traits I picked).
I would grab Alchemy instead of firearms it will increase your defenses and give you HGH which will be useful if you are on Elixir gun a lot anyway. Then you could theoretically replace one of your Gyros with an elixir depending on the matchup. Since you have 3 kits it’s a pretty good case for backpack regenerator too or just use the meta alchemy line with self-regulating defenses.

In Scrub league I use GS specifically for killing Revenants. It is pretty funny but also means you only have one weapons set most of the time.
I basically only switch to GS if I see a Crystal Hibernation. Then I swap to a greatsword with an sigil of intelligence spam Gravedigger and use “Nothing can save you.” This kills the Revenant.
Are you using the meta marauder build? Any tips? I just don’t feel like I have the same raw sustain I do on my Reaper. (on Reaper it is insanely easy for me)
I mostly mean in the PvP lobby but in game would be nice too. I can pretty easily solo the Blue lord and all NPCs in the lobby while on my Reaper and a few other classes but I have a really tough time on my Scrapper. Am I just doing it wrong? This is with the current Scrapper Meta build (Toughness Rune and Mara amulet)
Stranger still he hits 3 different targets…
Avunaye Dothraken
Avunaye is Swahili for Reaper. She is a Black Female Norn. Most of my characters have the family name “Dothraken”
I’ve been enjoying Blast gyro. I replaced slick shoes with it in the meta build and had a lot of fun knocking people off of points. Sometimes a knockback is better than a knockdown.
I play Reaper and Meta Marauder Scrapper. I can get more kills on my Scrapper because it is less predictable IMO. Don’t neglect 2 and 4 on hammer. Almost every skill does good damage you just have to really stay on top of your opponent to get all the hammer hits in. I save 3 sometimes if I have to chase out of the field.
Also you should have really high up time on protection and be getting heals from superspeed swiftness and regen all at the same time. That’s what makes you so tanky while still wearing the marauder amulet.
I also find elixir X to be a really fun substitute for sneak gyro. Being able to Moa your tougher match ups is awesome.
Even unranked is filled with premades now. HoT is an utter failure for your casual players that you respected in the core game. It’s bad enough that all the PvE takes a scheduled 2 hour commitment but now PvP is an utter joke unless you show up with your premade voip crew? PvP was my last hope to get a fun short play session but it’s gone now too.
Most average players can make 6 gold in an hour. I get that runes of the privateer are still cheaper, but the flat damage boost is worth it.
Eh, I’m not going to begrudge someone who doesn’t want to put an hour’s worth of gold into their armor. It’s probably worth it for their main, sure, but what if it’s an alt? As long as they don’t try to claim Privateer runes are numerically superior I won’t have anything against going with the cheaper option.
That’s essentially what I do. All my Alts have hilarious PARROT POWER!
Rune of the Privateer are the best dirt cheap power runes IMO. That parrot is great for soloing and they are just so cheap.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_the_Privateer
I would say runes of the ogre are better if only for the +4% damage boost, which is far more damage than the parrot will provide. The rock dog also seems to have better AI, and follows you more closely.
You missed the “dirt cheap” part in my post. 6gold is far greater than 12silver
Why are people complaining about the amazing stability on Rev? Free stability on dodge and the trait that can make it two stacks +8 seconds is super strong especially considering how much Vigor uptime is flying around.
People arguing with Blaine Tog need to read his signature.
“Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.”
So on the power train a guildy recommended this build that seemed ridiculous but it absolutely destroys a bunch of SoloQ classes. I am killing thieves by accident and druids became a joke. Down cleave with Greatsword is highly underrated. Lich seems crazy in this meta but 8-10K auto auto attacks are no joke.

In scrub tier I DID have a Skull Grinder Condi warrior hand me my kitten. Though he was only able to do it the first time when he surprised me. All other warriors have been an ignorable joke.
Personally I like viper with shouts and well of corruption a lot
Share this build? It sounds interesting.
I can’t link a build I don’t know. Metabattle has one but I don’t know which it is.
No. Warrior is in a bad spot and that build is terribad in this meta. At least consider one of the newer Berserker builds with great Stability uptime.
I’ve heard some grumbling that the EU version of condi rev is better but I don’t really understand the differences. Any Revenant experts care to enlighten me?
OP is probably a thief that didn’t buy the expansion.
Oh. I thought it just matched you against and with other players as bad as your MMR.
It does if you soloQ but real MMR manipulators are not soloQing
Can I request advice for how to handle a specific scenario on Foefire?
Say I’m on Blue team (it doesn’t really matter which team, though) and I’m near Waterfall, which we own. Red team has just capped Mine after killing one of our players there in a 2v1 situation, and the same number of players from each team are fighting at mid. Now one of the Red team members who was at Mine is close to arriving at Mid, and the second is likely to follow in the next few moments.
My question is, what’s the proper way to rotate in response to this type of situation?
-I can reinforce mid, but we’re likely to be outnumbered for some period of time on the point, and I’ll likely just end up getting wiped with my team. To me, this seems like the worst idea overall unless I have a very good reason to believe I can turn the fight quickly upon arriving.
-Decapping far to interrupt their momentum is only feasible with a high-mobility profession or one with access to Stealth, since I’ll either have to cut through the mid fight or take the significantly longer way around (which is what makes this situation particularly tricky on Foefire). I’ve been playing on a variety of professions recently, so this may or may not be an option, and I’m not sure how good of an option decapping far is under these circumstances.
-Defending Waterfall seems like the best decision if the opposing team still has members who aren’t engaged at mid, since that would help prevent them from securing an additional decap or full cap while we wipe to the rest of their team. At that point, however, I’m basically just trying to do damage control instead of actively trying to regain an advantage for my team. Is there anything else better to do here, or is that outcome likely to be the best thing I can salvage out of the situation?
Maybe this seems like an oddly specific situation, but I feel like I run into it more often than I’d like as a solo player. Any insight anyone has would be much appreciated.
It depends on your class. If you are a support bunker definitely reinforce mid. A support bunker at mid could prolong the fight long enough for your down teammate to get back in the fight. As you said if you have the mobility/stealth you could decap far.
To me the key thing to remember is in the example you gave you only have to kill one person at mid to make that an even fight. Ideally you come to the overlook and start putting ranged pressure on the lowest HP opponent. Then you can jump down on them and get start a cc-chain or a burst chain. since you will be late to the fight they should have already blown cooldowns and you can quickly turn it into an even fight.
Does saying: “Please don’t abandon me at mid.” count as blaming the team and QQing?
1. Defend the points you just capped.
A lot of times people just wander off not knowing where to go once the team has two points capped.
I’d be happy if they just learned this one. Every time last night I’d win a teamfight and cap mid only to be instantly abandoned by my soloQ teammates then overrun by respawns 10 seconds later. Sometimes they would leave while I could see the other team incoming. That point that you just fought for is VALUABLE. Defend it.
I’d also go as far as saying that a full pug should NEVER 3 cap unless the other team has DCed or is dancing in their spawn.
The only real problem is that it gives the buffs to teammates so they are great for stacking on point. It would be enough of a nerf just to change the boons to the individual only and moderately buff duration.
Why aren’t you taking “Path of Corruption” if your build is about corrupting boons?
The funniest part is the people in OP’s screenshot are doing it wrong! lol That is in unranked. Your MMR there is not the same as your MMR in Ranked.
EDIT: I take it back they aren’t in Unranked but they are still doing it wrong because they don’t have Ranked Gems next to their names. There is no use lowering your MMR unless you are already up a bracket.

I often run it just for the Cooldown reduction on shroud skills. It is a very overlooked facet of the trait. IT becomes particularly powerful/required if you run Speed of Shadows. Without Vital Persistence everything is still on cooldown when you pop back into shroud.
I played against a warrior the other night that ran a condition build I’ve never seen before. The things I know for sure is that he used Skull Grinder had a shield and had a surprising amount of Torment and Confusion. This is my best guess at his build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQRApc8enMdAlkilhAWhAciglqATpHE7yBILuLQA4d02antA-TpRFABnXGAgHAAO7PkwBBAhTAQyHBAA
Is there a similar build going around? Any ideas?
WTB Dire amulet in PvP
Cele reaper: no healing power use and doesn’t have enough immediate damage to kill good Druids and scrapers in a reasonable time frame, but it can absorb more damage.
If that’s true, then Soldier makes more sense. Soldier has the same drawbacks but with freakish durability. It doesn’t seem like the (relatively) small amount of Condition damage on Cele is enough to make a difference.
I mean if you want to have this problem, you can. Wearing Soldier I had a fight vs a druid at the Treb on Khlyo that was so long I had time to type “I’m bored.” and just leave.
