Your gear seems pretty glassy for WvW. I’m guessing you aren’t mobile enough against thieves and are getting blinded a lot? Additionally although I also like Litany of Wrath it is much worse than Shelter against thieves. Litany is sort of a heal early and burst heal whereas the block on Shelter can be used to block their burst and then get you above the threshold for Heartseeker. Thieves are problematic in WvW no matter what because they can always choose to disengage and then run away.
You didn’t tell us enough about your build or game mode.
Bad player is bad. Also, he doesn’t seem to know what meta means. Meta is meta with or without your opinion.
It was stated obliquely but the Ranger whining somehow got in the way. This is an issue for all flat trajectory ground following projectiles.
Ranger arrows are not in that category. Do rangers get obstructed in surprising places? Sure. That still doesn’t make the flat trajectory ground tracking projectile problem relevant to rangers.
Mostly because you’re wrong about DPS warriors. I play Guardian and Warrior a lot. The current Greatsword/Hammer Warrior does not rely on Rampage. Rampage is just a cute way to guarantee your kill or get massive amounts of Stab and CC. Backbreaker/Earthshake → 100 blades is how I get most of my kills. Currently DPS Warrior is just better in every way than the Medi Hammer build of the last Meta.
It seems like Runes of Balthazar would always be better than Flame Legion in this build. It is more burn duration and an extra burn on heal.
Is there a sPvP version of this? The closest I see regularly is Cele Signet but it seems weak in comparison.
Two 7% damage boosts is not enough to compete with other professions that can stack above 20% base damage boost.
Dhuumfire – Shroud skill 1 inflicts burning on your target and renews all stacks of burning.
Burning (3s): 984 damage
That way you get a slower ramp up but still can put serious amounts of burning down. If your opponent dodges a few life blasts the whole stack could fall off.
???
You know they just added Resistance right? IT isn’t on a lot of abilities yet but it should increase a little in HoT.
Eles are clearly out of whack when top level teams can run two at a time. 2/5 characters in both PvP and PVE meta are Elementalists. That doesn’t make any sense.
I have taken a stance, if i solo queue and spot a premade im going afk, regardless of how the game is going.
You’re missing your chance to relentlessly troll them for doing unranked as a premade.
Go, GS/Hammer/Rampage. It is currently amazing. Why not take advantage before it is nerfed?
What about even more Aegis gimmicks? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_the_Defender
I sort of didn’t understand that part because the PS meta build uses more than just Rune of Strength to get 25 might. ( I see what you are saying now)
I still think it’s a waste of time and rune money to go after Might stacking on a guardian for the purpose of supplementing PUGs…
Especially since now, Phalanx Warrior with only rune of strength have a bit of difficulty to keep 25 stack of might.
That’s not true. I PUG primarily on my PS warrior with food 25 might is always on.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fried_Golden_Dumpling
or
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Plate_of_Roasted_Cactus
It’s true without food I’m only at 20-22 might.

I understand the complaints of it not changing. I sort of missed mine too so I started using a really “technical” looking back item skin.
On my smaller/female characters I use: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Antitoxin_Injector_Skin
On my bigger characters I use: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Decorative_Molten_Jetpack
Granted not everyone has the second one but the first one was easy to get and looks great on Engie IMO.
Play a Phalanx Strength Warrior with Strength Runes and you’ll see just what a waste this build is. Group stacking might is brainless on a PS warrior. Ele can stack it longer with fire fields but that requires a tiny bit of coordination. PS Warrior just magically gives full might to PUGs. I’ve had people comment on it halfway through the run. They either say “Wow, I never melt stuff like this!” or “OMG, where is all this Might coming from?” lol
You should try Communal Defenses if you are going to run Shattered Aegis. (Psssst, Communal Defenses has no target limit BTW.)
I don’t fully understand this build it does seem to work but it just feels exhausting in the current burst meta. I acknowledge it is way more survivable than some of the other Necro builds but I don’t feel like I can kill anyone fast enough to make a difference. By the time I get someone low their teammate(s) show up and I’m out of cooldowns.
Poe, have you run a marauder’s build with HGH and Hoelbrak or Strength? I don’t main my Engineer but I go power when I want the Engineer daily and am shocked at how fast it burns down Thieves and Mesmers. Not targeting people in stealth is wonderful. Not only that if people don’t focus me I usually get multiple down at mid. I think most people think I’m condi at first and don’t prioritize the FT Engie.
If it was 20% you could only run Hammer and Mace.
Might as well add my build in here. I use Greatsword, Litany of Wrath and Purging flames for strong AoE pressure. I often have three downed people after this combo.

This is probably the glassiest version with very few escape options but man does it burn people down.
EDIT: I just realized this is basically the same as your revised Duelist build. I’m just using Litany for more pressure and less survivability. lol

I’ve been having a ton of fun on a burning build running around silver wastes using great sword and scepter/torch. The gears a mix of sinister and carrion but do sinister weapons first.
I run either this way with valor:
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAR7fnkIClDhNDBWDBEEhjAiKPEN4EaDgH4NvbbEkBA-TViAABws/wsKBhW3AAXEgHM/9kyPKeCAApqC1qVQKAYWAA-w
Or this way with Zeal:

Zeal is theoretically more DPS but the valor version has some fun gimmicks and slightly more survivability.

Running this build with Sinister/Carrion mix. It’s pretty amazing. You should give Litany of Wrath a shot. With Smiter’s Boon and Monk’s focus it gets very powerful.
i just love my Guard Build GS – Mace/Torch
TeeHee Mace/Torch, posts a Scepter/Torch screenshot.
Nerf incoming…

About this topic, I did a little bit of numbers at the PvP trainer, and got 22k of physycall dmg+burning, with full zerker and runes of scholar, and 24k for precision, power, condi (dont remember the name in english) with runes of balthasar.
The combo I used was purging flames, gs3, gs2, gs5, gs4
Thats raw dmg solo and without any kind of buff.
So I decide to give it a try at sw, bought an exotic gear and runes (all pretty cheap, not even 1g for the 6 runes) and its amaizing how things melt.
Shhshshhhhhhh, burning is bad. don’t tell anyone!
I've been doing it too. I've got a Sinister Greatsword and the rest is Carrion right now. On multiple targets it is amazing. When my cooldowns are down and I only have one target it is a little underwhelming but when my cooldowns are available killing 3-4 teragriffs at once is SOOOO fun.
@Diovid That was sort of my point.
I can see sort a reason for it for stats like Crit Damage but the the line where they drew core seems off after the trait changes IMO. Healing power and especially Condition Damage seem like they should be core stats.
For those that don’t know Power/Precision/Vitality/Toughness now start at 1000 stat points everything else starts at 0.
Now that the stats on trait lines have been moved to armor the gulf between Power/Precision/Vitality/Toughness and everything else has grown even more. Where previously we could get up to 300 Condition damage from the trait line without wearing any Condition Damage armor now we are starting from 0 condition damage.
This means that even in full Sinister gear I can’t get my Condition Damage stat higher than my Power stat. That doesn’t make a lot of sense for the BiS Condition Damage gear.
I know it would require a Condition Damage calculation change but perhaps for HoT Condition Damage can become a Core Stat?
I’ve been enjoying it so much in PvP I’ve started messing around with it in PvE and am even considering a Sinister set. The one thing I can’t decide if the third trait line is Zeal vs Valor in PvE. In PvP it’s a no brainer for me MEditations and Valor is awesome. But I’’m wondering about the increased modifiers in Zeal for sustain. I’m also using a Greatsword to get plenty of AoE application and the greatsword trait is in Zeal.
I guess I should mention that I haven’t figured out anything useful for dungeons. SW and PvE open world doesn’t seem much slower than a Power build but it is bursty. I don’t feel like I have reasonable sustain for a dungeon at all.
What skills exactly are affected by Inversion Enzyme? I really don’t understand that trait.
I bet that is pretty nice. I’ll have to give it a try. I just like the 25 might from HGH and the ultimate laziness of staying on FT for Bases. :P
With grenadier being disabled and the new specializations I was able to get one of my favorite fun builds working better than ever. This build recieved big buffs to durability and Crit chance. Give it a try and have fun!
Change Symbolic Avenger so that the Guardian gets the increased damage when THEY stand in it not the target. That way the game only has to check if the guardian standing in their own Symbol.
I didn’t get a screen shot but I noticed strange behavior this morning on Scepter/Torch Guardian.
Honestly just copy World of Warcraft’s camera. Excellent FoV, standard expected 3rd person camera behavior, and a first person zoom-in.
As far as the smart pivot idea goes though I wouldn’t bother it is a large effort for a low return and it could be accomplished by using a zoom in to first person feature. As in all you have to do is zoom-in when looking up and your character won’t be in the way anymore if you can zoom-in to first person.
Please, please, please consider increasing the vertical FoV so I can see the sky and tall buildings. Currently you have to point the camera unnaturally high to see the horizon. This can be fixed by increasing the vertical FoV. It can also be fixed by changing a couple of other things like first person view or camera height/pivot position but the quickest fix is just increasing FoV or giving us an FoV slider.
Let us trade. Let the TP work. Most of all don’t make me craft! I will buy gems to get gold and give it to players on the TP to avoid crafting.
Youre crafting system is the best I’ve ever used in an MMO. However, there is a segment of players that will NEVER like crafting enough to trade precious game time for it. Please let us spend our money.

The top page says that the prices are 250g and one is available. Clicking on a single item shows very different prices and availability.

A lot fo people saying give it a chance or it’s fine for me are not understanding two things.
1) if you had an alt that already existed but was low level you are not in as much pain as an Alt CREATED after the patch.
2) It is radically different for different classes. Engineer for example has one of the best leveling traits (speedy kits) locked behind Frostgorge completion. So you will be moving at regular movement speed until you get to level 36 and cough up the money.
On my 80s the new system seems fine. A reason to do some open world stuff sounds fun. On my alts it is punishing and completely broken. There is no reason to back load trait acquisition. It should be spread more evenly across the levels.
The best example of the problem is on my level40 engineer. Before the patch I had a master trait and 2 adept traits. now I have one adept trait? That is a huge nerf and does nothing to make the game better.
Worse still on engineer the specific traits I lost are Huge gameplay changers. See Juggernaut and Speedy Kits.
Because the backpack sizes are race specific not gender or height specific. Short female Norn is especially bad.
How is shield 5 not enough?
I play 90/10 PvE/PvP and even I think this is a TERRIBLE idea. As soon as the meta for any class includes an unlockable trait the entire system falls apart and is a horrible punishment.
I’m sure people at Anet believe this is a horizontal system because “All the traits will be equally good.” Unfortunately, that has not proven to be even remotely true. Unlocks in a game with the current balance of GW2 will absolutely become vertical progression.
So, vertical progression in your “everyone equal” PvP environment? That is a design failure.
I think it must be 0/0/25/30/15 but I wonder if he runs hybrid because in dire i can’t get my direct damage to hit as hard. His heals are over 2000 so he has to be running some healing power. I wonder if it is soldier armor and apothecary jewelry. I just can’t figure out if it is soldier runes or melandru.
What is the point of a thread like this without posting your build?
1) If you actually want to be challenged you should want people to counter your build.
2) If you actually want the build nerfed you should encourage other people to run it so it gets nerfed faster.
I should have read through the thread. lol I just posted this build on the youtube page. With Sword/Shield I love this break down. !0% more damage and 10% more crit? Yes, please.
Right I agree with the suggestions about Hoelbrak runes. And missile deflection isn’t that good. Great fortitude is ok. But you would be better off with Blade master 10% crit chance with swords. Spiked armor retal is not a good trait. And like I suggested in the other thread your build is better off with 25 in arms for 10% damage vs bleeding foes.
And also Like i said in your other thread you condition damage is no more than what your traits give. Just becasue you have weapons that deal conditions your build is not a condition build so +40 condition duration food is useless to you.
So there for also Poisen on swap is useless to use as well since not only is your condition damage low but that is not enough poison to serve a purpose at reducing somones regen. And like I said the bleeding damage on swap is useless also.
Boom your build is 10x better.

Then make it 2000 dungeon tokens. Some people never craft in any game. I would play Minecraft if I wanted to craft things.
