I hate crafting. Will there ever be other ways(non-rng) to obtain ascended gear?
I posted this in one of the other threads but I’d like to see a mild buff to the heal amount like 10% then have it grant a boon like Retaliation or Protection both of which are a pain for warriors to get and would help make this signet unique.
Cool. I didn’t realize reducing duration by 100% would trigger the immune message.
I was playing sPvP on a condi warrior and kept getting “Immune” messages from a particular bunker engineer. It seemed he was immune to bleeds or cripples and I can’t figure out what trait or skill was causing it.
Nerfing Healing Signet 8% without changing the active is just not enough. Unless the active becomes interesting nerfing the passive enough to satisfy people will essentially remove it from the game.
Something like increasing the base heal on the Active from 3,275 to 5,240(base heal of mending) then granting 5s of Retaliation or 5s of Protection. (one or the other not a random chance of either)
Retaliation and Protection are both a pain to keep up on Warriors so it would be a good incentive to use the active. Something like that would make the skill interesting and keep people from never using the Active.
In the Thief duel how are you keeping target when he stealths? Or are you using a key bind to pick him up really fast?
I run a similar build. Try swapping Furious in for Blade Master. You will be able to use Flurry and Combustive Shot on cooldown. The continuous up time on the fire field is pretty amazballs.
Interestingly enough I specced a warrior in the mists to furious and bust mastery. Then equipped rampagers for the crit and conditions. You can keep up full adrenaline Combustive Shot almost continuously this way. I say almost because the cooldown is 7 1/4 seconds while the duration is 7 seconds. A new Combustive shot is ready to go almost immediately.
This is just to inform. I have never run this build and don’t think it is particularly relevant to the way they are nerfing Combustive Shot. If you would like to repeat it I tested on the the AoE golems in the mists but you don’t actually need that many targets.
This is a build/ guide I posted that is not the max dps zerker build it is very solid for casual dps and solo pve. however it does have the goal of learning the dps meta.

Sometimes the Latest greatest DnT or rT build isn’t the best build for YOU. Maybe you don’t play often enough to anticipate every boss move or you don’t have the money/resources to be in full Ascended. Whatever the case you still want to run dungeons and do good enough damage to not get kicked. This is the build I use when I’m feeling lazy or running a dungeon I don’t know well. It focuses on adding Toughness and giving you tools to help the group without dying.
The equipment is meant to be transitional (if you can’t afford runes of the scholar use ruby orbs). So that you don’t waste too much money but can replace jewelry as you get better at staying alive. You’ll see that the swap weapon is longbow not axe/mace. In a pug many times Longbow will keep you alive and do more damage than axe/mace. It also has an elite skill that will trigger Cleansing Ire without hitting anything. Note longbow 4 is a blind that can save you and party members.
Utility 1 is currently Bull’s Charge which I use a lot because it is an interrupt but it is also the slot I change the most. Switch it to “On my Mark” if you group has no vulnerability. Switch it to Banner of Discipline if your groups damage sucks and switch it to Endure Pain if you are still having trouble staying alive.
Lastly as you replace your jewelry with Zerker this build should get you comfortable with moving to one of the max DPS builds.
Runes of Perplexity. It isn’t a Thief skill it is an expensive rune set.
I don’t see a build to compare it too.
In any case I don’t think the celestial stats are worth the cost.
Perhaps most importantly you didn’t tell us what you want to do or what role you want to fill. WvW is not really enough information.
I think Warriors should have portal on fall damage. So we can jump off of walls and portal back up.
This is a better version of the original build IMO.

Doom on swap provides poison. Poison becomes a great use of your condition damage and another cover condition for cleanse builds.
I also think the 30 in Discipline is better than the other allocations because it gives you fast hands, perma fury and cheaper/faster burst skills. This means that you can immobilize people in your fire field much more often.
I’ve been running something similar for a while and find that it works best when I am working in my Longbow field. The main difference is I go for melandru or lyssa runes instead of the extra condition damage.
With Berserker gear, Fiery Wrath and Unscathed Contender Torch 4 can be hilarious. It crits for like 6,000 and people are really not used to seeing it. It does however have a HUGE telegraph if the other player knows what it is.
It’s simple. There are no “MAgic Runes” The only thing that would fit in a regen theme is Dolyak. They still probably aren’t as good as Melandru in practice.
Just for fun I ran as close to this build as I could figure out last night. There are 5 sources of regen that can overlap.
1) Healing Signet
2) Mango Pie
3) Adrenal Health
4) Dolyak Runes
5) Banner Regen
This is the build I ran: http://tinyurl.com/kpt77cw
I skipped Dolyak runes because I already had Melandru. It was pretty darn funny. I was able to tank the a couple of level 80 Champs in Orr. I tanked the Champion Arena guy in northern Orr for so long that I got bored and had some guildies come kill him.
It is a pretty funny troll build but there isn’t enough damage behind it IMO. It gets a little better if you swap the armor for rabid or carrion.
In your Longbow/Greatsword build why do you go 20 in Strength instead of 20 in Arms? It seems like the reduced cooldown might be better in PvP.
Runes of the Scholar are so far and away the best rune that it is silly. Then second place isn’t even a rune it is a rare jewel. The six piece bonus on most of the other power runes needs a buff to be in line with Scholar. All the 5% bonuses need to be 10% like Scholar.
What gear are you running? I always feel naked in Zerker when I WvW.
Don’t nerf it. Besides people with jobs haven’t even logged on yet.
I see a few of these builds in PvP but I can’t find a guide and can’t seem to get the feel for it either. Anyone have some tips or know a good guide? I can’t even really tell what the focus of the build is.
Ok then give them more traits that buff pet HP. Wear your Zerker gear and spend the traits to get tanky pets. My only real point is that it should be a trade-off. Some cost for pets that can solo supply camps seems reasonable. Straight buffs to everyone’s pets regardless of build/Stats seems pretty broken.
Now I still think they need more protection from AoE especially in PvE but if that buff is straight HP that apply to all pets in all parts of WvW it will be an awful change.
Lumping WvW in with PvE is really scary for this change. Summons that can handle PvE levels of damage in smaller scale WvW are going to be very overpowered. If for instance you buff summons to be able to stand in AoE in PvE and that strength is brought to WvW how are you supposed to kill them out in the field?
My MM necro is now immortal. 30k HP Flesh Golem incoming!~
I think this is really scary too. I can already take a camp+bad player, now it’ll be even easier with it taking a million hours for them to knock down my minions- which are now draining even more life for me with improved draining traits.
Yeah that’s the sort of thing I’m afraid of. Rangers and Necros and Mesmers can just solo all your camps if they buff summons to the point of surviving Arrow cart spam.
I also don’t understand why they don’t base hp and power off of the players gear. You shouldn’t be wearing Zerker gear and get tanky pets. You want tanky pets? Get tanky gear.
“Pet HP split between PvE and PvP
We wanted to make pets and summons more viable in PvE/WvW while making sure they didn’t become too strong in PvP.”Lumping WvW in with PvE is really scary for this change. The problem here is that there are two very divergent styles of play in WvW. In zergs, this is almost necessary so your pet can actually survive and do damage. Roaming, however, it does threaten to be OP.
So what should it be balanced around? I’d edge towards zerg-based combat and the health buff as that’s where the bulk of WvW focuses around. Roaming is fun and all, or at least I hear it is, but large-scale combat is where WvW shines and is what WvW should probably be balanced around. And there, that health buff is practically necessary to run anything but a ranged pet.
I’m on Blackgate. I know all about fighting zergs. I would hope they could come up with something like WoW did and give them increased resistance to AoE not just buff their HP way up like they have been doing.
Even something like deprioritizing summons in the AoE 5 count would be better than just buffing HP so high that no player can kill a Ranger Elite summon.
I don’t have the answer I just hope they can be more creative than a 70% hp buff.

If your damage is low while leveling you probably need to upgrade your weapon. I buy a new rare weapon with DPS stats every 10 levels or so.
I just found out that Charr racial gives 6s of fury. Maybe if you had some boon duration runes? lol
I’ve run them both extensively. My ascii graphic failed.
on a spectrum from pure support to pure DPS Healway is decidedly on the support side while AH is slightly over the line toward a pure DPS build.
One thing I have noticed is that is a 2-3 person situation Healway is an amazing game changer. Give me a Thief a Healway Guardian and an Engineer and you can kill everyone without ever dropping combat.

I’ve been maining a Guardian for a year and I didn’t realize what a gem this particular sub-forum is. I’ve been recently trying to focus on other professions and finding the same detailed resources that Guardians have in here is almost impossible. DnT stuff on Guru isn’t bad but it doesn’t cover the range or minutiae that we have in the Guardian forum.
Thanks everyone!
OP says he is level 62 so he is likely looking for a leveling PvE build in which case he doesn’t need uber meta stopping condition removal. Just something to get that kitten poison off. Go all DPS and learn to dodge while leveling. Dodging is an important skill anyway and mad DPS will help you level faster. If you are a big baby like me you can use health per second food while leveling.
Try this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUMQJARWlYgiDnFyvDf4ERuA7DAE7BGz4HB-jgxAEFA6DUybIrZvIqXwUlER1yAIuFA-e
I included food and armor etc.
Swap Writ of the Merciful for Pure of Voice if conditions eat you up or you are playing WvW.
This is for level 60. put your next 20 points in Zeal or Valor. You will likely do something totally different at 80 depending on the game mode you focus.
Ninja Edit: I know these builds don’t match the “Mad DPS” I mentioned in the first paragraph. I was mostly talking about DPS armor like zerker if you can get it or power/precision armor otherwise.
Yes. Symbol of Swiftness only adds one second of swiftness if you already have swiftness. Always save it for when your swiftness falls all the way off. Use Greatsword leap or sword 2 on rabbits to catch up when you already have swiftness.
Shouts too. 20% reduced cooldown on shouts + Retreat and Save Yourselves. Though if I’m in a good Zerg I can get a lot of swiftness just by blast finishing the static fields.
I don’t know if you can still edit but your build has a typo. You call your heal Healing Breeze in the description but you have Signet of Resolve slotted.
Cool build though. I love people that understand the strength of the dodge heal coefficient!
Brutality, post your Warrior build! I could take my Warrior off the shelf until this Condi meta is over.
I said this at the introduction of torment. A new condition without across the board buffs for condition removal is completely insane.
I wanted to buy weapon skins but all I got was crappy Black Lion Chests.
Whoa, moderator changed my thread title. I didn’t know they did that.
I would happily pay outright for weapon skins but have no interest in dealing with the variable and unknown price the RNG boxes create. Why would you do this in the face of overwhelming feedback that we don’t like RNG boxes? We are not the Asian market. Cultural differences do exist.
I’m trying to find ways to give you money but you make it really hard.
Have you ever seen Amins’ scepter burst videos? Thats the most burst I’ve ever seen from a “unique” guardian build in WvW. There are a few Greatsword burst videos that hit harder but they are on Risen Giants.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nttQ7bBkA8w
I’ve been playing with a build that I got for Gauntlet Farming that turned out to be pretty funny burst in WvW but it is horrible on survivability in bigger fights. 10/30/10/10/10 Bursty but delicate like paper.
For me, it’s Staff #4.
As a male Norn I call it “Power Poop!”
I don’t understand people calling themselves tanky without Healing Power. The dodge roll heal + vigor is nearly the most efficient heal in the game. It also heals everyone around you. Sigil of Energy and Sigil of Stamin are your bestest friends ever. You can be healing 5 people for 1500 hp and be dodging almost continuously while in a group fight.
Just based on the math a build without crit and more specifically crit damage is not going to be a high DPS build. The amount of power you would need to make up the difference is not attainable.
But that sounds like Guardians can’t bunker. Are they no longer the main bunker in sPvP? I’m actually asking since I mainly WvW. Or are you saying that Guardians have to build DPS to bunker? Which sounds insane.
No purging Flames? It tags everything every 32 seconds (talented).
This also ignores the healing Power coefficient on SoR. It scales much better in something like Cleric’s gear. SoR has the best coefficient of all Guardian spells @ 1.25
At 1000 healing power things change a lot:
Signet of Resolve:
9400hp on 40 seconds (talented to 32)
Prayer to Dwayna:
7370hp on 30 seconds
Which still means nothing to me in WvW where I will always be using Shelter.
So it means that a warrior somewhere used “On my mark!” on Amins?
I see this most often on bosses in PvE but I’ve seen it a few times in WvW. I finally caught it in one of Amins’ videos. I’m talking about the red ring thing under his character’s feet.
It should just teleport backward a set amount and do the heal bubble. That would be mechanically similar to Elementalist and Thief skills.
First off I love this build and run it in WvW all the time. I’m just wondering where I could adjust things to maintain the playstyle but do more DPS in PvE encounters. Switching my armor SEEMS like a good place to start but then my heals are anemic. Are there some traits or weapons swaps that would help pound out the DPS on the dumb PvE mobs?
