I’ll go ahead and tell you now that advocating for fair treatment of necros is good way to get yourself banned on these forums. That being said, I think stability itself needs to be removed from the game completely. It’s a crutch for lazy players and isn’t fairly or evenly distributed enough to all classes to warrant its use. All we should have are stun breaks. I’ve said this a thousand times, and I’ll say it a thousand more; immunities of any kind that require no more skill than to smash a single button should never be implemented. They do nothing more than create imbalance and lend to exploits, favoritism of classes, and sloppy/lazy gameplay. Oh and whoever said engis dont have reliable stability, you might want to read over engi skills and traits again.
With that said, the following need to be removed as well since they’re not evenly distributed between classes.
- Fear/Terror
- Stealth
- Blink
- Signets with 25% run speed
- Knockdown skills
- Daze skills
- Invulnerable skills
There’s probably plenty more by just going with your criteria.
I’m fine with that, although other than the invulnerabilities, none of those constitute as “immunities” so you’re kinda shooting yourself in the foot on that one. I never said anything about CC skills, and stealth is a class mechanic for thieves, so it’s not really what I’m talking about either (I refuse to believe ‘steal’ is their class mechanic when it sucks so bad and stealth is so crucial to so many of their builds- but that’s another topic entirely). The main point is, and none of your argument addresses this at all, is that so much content is designed around needing ample amounts of stability- and yet only a handful of classes (and usually the most op ones) have access to that. Go run around this map on any class that normally can upkeep stab a large amount of time like warrior or guard, except without bringing stab, blocks, invulnerabilities, and tell me how that feels. Because that’s how it is for necros except we have no say in the matter.

I love having pve players in wvw. It just means I get free kills. And I really could care less if they stay or not. That’s the only reason I play wvw at all is to farm them. Certainly not to pvd or blob-surf. I really don’t understand why anyone would zerg at all when there’s walking lootbags wandering around gathering at nodes, watching vistas, andNd killing ambient creatures

This is a very interesting build, and not too far from what I’ve used before. I think I’ll give it a try since the meta has grown boring as hell for me.
I think it’s because they want to secretly make all classes deal low-medium damage hits and have medium-high armor and health pools to draw out long fights.
Seeing as the past changes and the upcoming ones appear to be emphasizing the nerf of burst and buffing long, passive gameplay.
Except in our case where they reduce our burst and sustain….
And if you spend skill points on signet of vampirism I’m going to reach through your screen and choke you out
…. Seriously though…Don’t do it O_O
Something you need to understand about healing seed: It has almost zero range (230) , meaning if you’re not standing on top of it, you’re not getting regen, the seed can be destroyed by a stiff breeze, and since you’re most likely getting focus fired by everything around you, and you are forced to stand on top of the seed and it dies soon as you summon it. If you would like the same kind of effect as healing seed, yet a stronger heal, more uptime, and a a combo field….Use well of blood
Summoning BF aint a heal so it doesnt proc it, as for targeted wells its a bug.
It procs on a healing skill activation, so yes it should proc on summon blood fiend. Equip any rune set with “on healing” effects, summon blood fiend, and see what happens. Then sacrifice it and see what happens.
The necromancer trait, Spiteful Vigor (II in Death Magic) does not proc peroperly on heal activation as it should when well of blood is used and ground target wells trait (VI in Curses- Focused Rituals) nor does it proc on Summon Blood fiend as it should like other on-heal effects do.
Has anyone else noticed Spiteful Vigor trait does not work with well of blood? It shows up properly in the tooltip, but never procs on heal-at all. It’s also not working on summon blood fiend.
OK…tested it again and found the problem. It does not work at all when you have ground target wells trait activated. Nothing changes the fact that it doesn’t work on summon blood fiend though. I’m putting this in the bugs section. If anyone has anything to add let me know.
So much hype over this, and it’s been live for how long now, yet no one can access it, and you can’t even let us know if you are doing anything to fix it?
There’s been at least 3 (maybe more by now) red tag responses to this.
WTB a little bit of patience and common sense to distribute amongst the community
What player feedback did they take for these changes? lol “We’ve also adjusted some values for Minion Master builds based on player feedback.” Yeah okay. Anyway, the scaling with healing is pretty nice.
It will only be nice if they scale it properly, but I suspect it will follow the doomed path of the other siphons and be scaled in such a ridiculous manner that the trait will now be broken and worthless.
Ameranth should be GW2’s version.
It would be kind of neat seeing her and her hound all across Tyria.
She was supposed to travel all over, but so far I’ve only ever seen her in the Black Citadel. Not that I blame her, it’s a wonderful place to stay, but I think she bugged there and they never bothered to fix her.
Has this always been here? I remember in GW1 there was an obscure Dwaynas statue in lornar’s but I thought it was farther south?
Does anyone know if the lifesteals from rune of vampirism and rune of scavenging stack? Or do they share some ridiculous cooldown, or overwrite one another?
They already have the perfect candidate for the new Traveler. Go check him out sometime, listen to his dialogue. nHe even has a Yak friend next to him.

This is honestly what the stupid signet should have been all along (with numbers adjusted to reflect the higher damage output this game plays off of, of course). And that would be the passive. The active would be about the same, except it still uses that silly mark it has now and it affects allies as well. No icd.
The whole idea behind insidious parasite, and the reason it actually worked, was it punished fast, low to medium damage hits, but only provided minimal sustain against powerful hits (and nothing for condition damage). Why this excellent and proven concept escapes them is beyond me.
I’ve always wanted something for the auto attack like a “charged shot”. In other words as a regular auto, it can work the way it does now, no change at all, keep the mediocre dps. But you could hold down the button and “charge” it to get more range and significantly more dps. Also, rooting on barrage needs to go. They can already just walk out of it. I’m not saying we should be able to adjust the target area while we move and fire, just that we can strafe around while we fire barrage at the area we targeted. As for rapid fire, yeah it has a hard time hitting players, but I think a simple projectile speed increase would go a long way to making it better. Add 50% speed increase to the flight time during the channel or something like that.
Idk if they did this for dolphins (never seen a non-green-friendly one) but there’s some whales in certain places that are “yellow” mobs and they have actual skills. Something like tail slap, ect ect. Would be pretty easy to take those and turn them into pets. Likle I said about dolphins though, idk if they ever made them anything beyond animated background fodder.
Stop asking for things we already have:

If they would just take every underwater skill we have, put it on land weapons…we would be in perfect shape.
It’snot just vamp minions that’s getting the axe, they’re cutting the cojones off the minions altogether, and mark my words this most likely won’t be the last minion nerf patch. Vamp master, training of the master, next will be a revert to old minion hp levels and/or a damage chop to death nova. It’s coming, don’t be surprised by it.
How dare you bring up necro bugs when warriors still need so much polishing! For shame!
It’s been this way for a long time, it will be this way even longer. I guarantee it.
I’ve been playing a dagger/dagger diamond skin condi ele in tpvp (0/0/30/20/20 w/ settler’s, i.e., 3,200 armor and 600 hp passive regen per second).
I just thought I’d pop in and say I find this thread highly amusing….
Lol, don’t you like the 12k health in that build? And the wet noodle damage too?
If you’re using d/d instead of s/d for a condi build, I imagine your dps is sloppy :P
They did exist at one time, they dropped in the F&F dungeon. Saw it with my own eyes. And no way am I wasting that many guild commendations for a single insig or inscrip…that’s insane!
Ok it’s been over year since release and still no snow leopard armor like the respective shamans wear. Why? We needz Snow Leopard Armor!!!!
Are there any plans to re-introduce sentinel’s recipes in the future? Seems pretty unfair to limit an entire line of recipes to those people who were lucky enough to get it to drop during that short LS segment. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s currently no way, whatsoever, in game, to acquire recipes to make sentinel’s gear unless you already have a recipe? It can’t even be made in the mystic toilet?? That seems pretty unbalanced to me. That means the few who snatched a recipe back then can now monopolize the market with that stat.
I don’t care about blah blah everyone only crafts ascended now blah blah…no they don’t. And to lock people out like this is even worse than time gating exotic celestial stuff, which is another ridiculous feature, but for another thread.
lol no one is complaining about it now. It’s been over 3 weeks, like I said. People found counters, and no one uses the trait because of how weak it is. Its almost too easy to counter.
You guys made such a big deal about this weeks ago. And I love getting to say ‘i told you so.’
You cant be serious. All i’m running into in wvw is diamondskin. People stopped complaining in this thread, or went mm/power.
Same here. I’d say 8/10 eles I run across will have diamond skin in wvw. While in zergblobs that’s not a huge issue, for roaming it is a major issue. Even running MM sometimes isn’t enough because they can go from half hp to full in a split second, and back comes the immunity. No CC, no condis to whittle them down, slow them, put them way down here on our playing field….they just continue to happily faceroll that keyboard with zero skill required.
I can definitely say, for me at least, the drops on them from the gifts are much much lower than last year. And if this is a string of bad luck, it’s the longest string of bad luck I’ve ever seen. It’s been this way the entire holiday. Oh and btw they do drop from mobs, but only the toys.
Is it just me or are snowflake drops almost non-existent this year? I’ve been struggling to get any at all and I hit up those presents and toypoc every day.
stop attacking when you have the confusion on you and/or cleanse it off. When you get in close that’s when they put it on you, so if you insist on going melee, don’t #autospamftw
They’re scaled just fine, you’re just not paying attention :P
He’s prob hiding in the shadows like a scared little mouse like the rest of the human gods did once the dragons awoke. Previously he was imprisoned in the UW, but it required the players to constantly aid the reapers to keep him there. Without us being able to access UW I imagine he escaped, saw some dragons, pooped his skirts, and ran away like the rest.
Yes I’m totally necro-ing this thread, but for good reason.
First let me get the tired old excuse of “racials are weak intentionally” out of the way. Yes we all know that quite clearly by now. But there is a well distinguished line between intentionally weak and downright useless. Healing seed is one of those downright useless. It could be a respectable skill as far as racials go without being op by simply increasing it’s range. Right now you have to quite literally stand on top of it to get the regen. The seed itself is already susceptible to being destroyed far too easily (which is a feature that will likely never change) so why the need to make it’s effects infeasible to use?
The weakness reduction was the biggest hit to it imo. Now it runs out before they can even walk a few steps to land the hit, so it might as well not even be there. I’m not saying the loss of the bleeds isnt detrimental to it, but bleeds can be reapplied easy enough. You only get one 2 second shot at trying to negate that burst on you now though with the non-existant weakness.
I was certain spiteful vigor worked with both summons of blood fiend but now it only works on the active heal. Was it always like this? I remember running a build in the past that utilized the fact you can get “on heal” effects twice with blood fiend and this trait was included in it,but now it only works once. Kind of a letdown actually. I tested blood fiend with some runes right now and , thank goodness, knock on wood it still works with rune effects but it doesn’t work on spiteful vigor Boo
I think we’ll just agree to disagree on this. I’ve used the ol flesh sock since betas and never had an issue with how it functions other than it having a useless blast finisher and poison effect (it honestly should be at the start and end teleport spots, not just at the wurm, where it rarely sees any benefits)
I like this idea, but I’m also one of the few I’m guessing who actually likes underwater combat lol.
Nope you and I are the only ones though ;-)
But I still think separate traits would be awesome. I can see smoe skills not working underwater, and I’m fine with that, but a separate trait setup would be perfect and increase the playability of UW combat for a lot of people that currently despise it.
I honestly never really have an issue with having to re-summon it and it being immobile. Since it is immobile it’s immune to CC, can be placed up out of reach of enemies, and stays put on the backline where you would want your ranged to properly be as opposed to bone fiend that likes to run to 150 range and then shoot projectiles -_-
No out of all the changes necro needs, I really hope they don’t change flesh wurm.
I don’t doubt that if Evon won the election, Kiel would have done the exact same thing and grumbled about Evon being interested in Fractals (remember he promised to show us Abbadon) and something else about his actions in Tyria.
Not surprising. That’s all Kiel does is whine and complain and give us content without proper waypoints <cough- saw that coming-cough>
Evon is the hero Tyria needs. When we take on the next elder dragon i hope he’s leading the charge. I would follow him anywhere
It’s a broken skill. It doesn’t work in DS, it has an ICD so you can only get the heal once every second even though you may receive multiple hits per second (and even then the passive healing is so low that the only time you will ever get a net gain of health is if clones are hitting you), and the active can be countered by them simply blocking or walking away (since you can’t hit them and thus get the healing effect). The passive siphons also do not work with the vampiric traits nor do they damage the attackers at all. The initial self heal is incredibly low and scales pretty poorly with healing power then leaves you with no healing at all for 35 seconds . It’s all around just a bad skill. Don’t even spend the skill point on it.
If you guys would be interested in seeing legion-themed skins added to the game, please head on over to my suggestion thread and comment, upvote, show your support and ideas. Thanks!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Charr-Legion-themed-weapon-skins/first#post3377318
It would be nice to see some weapon skins themed around each charr legion. We already have the blood legion and iron legion shields, which are awesome themselves, but there’s no ash legion shield (I have seen them on npc’s so I know they’re in the game somehwere) but it would also be nice to have other weapon skins based around each legion available in game. Right now, the only charr skins besides the shields we have are steam weapons (which let’s face it, those are mostly iron legion weapons) and adamant guard, which technically aren’t an independent legion.
We charr are proud and we do exist and want some more attention to our race. We may not be as numerous as human players, but we deserve no less respect and attention. Please consider adding in legion themed weapon and/or armor skins. Thank you.
Shoot me an invite if you don’t mind. I’d love to join!
I’m gonna bump this to hopefully get a response. I’d really like to free up those bank slots….all I need is 1 more freaking pet too >.<
Not going to lie, I will find myself rather please if a charr of all races comes out as the hero of Lion’s Arch.
There’s no other alternative. Charr are the heroes of the game
If you want the easiest build to run with minimal effort, go hambow warrior. And use my special technique I developed for maximum efficiency:

Seems like everytime I hotjoin guess what…it’s skyhammer. I leave it to join another, and either I catch the tail end of one and the next is skyhammer or it lands me in a skyhammer again right away. Its been popping in the rotation much more frequently lately. The map is already horrible to deal with, why is it showing up even more now?
I even just got it twice in a row. Thought that wasn’t supposed to be possible?
Honestly I think the 60 seconds isn’t too bad. Ele summons only last that long. It’s the cd and inability to clear the stacks that makes it worthless. If you could resummon it as soon as your stacks are back up, then the 60 second duration wouldn’t be a problem really. If you wanted ti back up faster, just double the sigils up lol. It is kinda weak in terms of a summon though. There are summons from consumables (like fire elemental essence powder, ogre pet whistle, ect) that are far stronger and more resilient than this guy.
The introduction of gold to acquire pvp stuffs does have a downside for people like me that play pvx and do both pve and pvp. My already thin gold resources will be stretched even thinner now unless gold rewards in pvp are pretty substantial. I don’t like being holed up in one game mode. I get tired of pve and do pvp for weeks on end and vice versa. Time will tell how this plays out, but for a multitasker it has me worried. I was satisfied with the glory system (although it was kinda slow at times since I wasn’t a skyhammer bot farmer or a glory exploiter, but the grind seemed worth it). Hopefully they will release more details about it soon and clarify just how this is all going down.
YAY! LOVE IN THE THREAD!!! <3
