Staff without Death Magic?

If you really like staff but don’t want to mess with death magic, why not just take spiteful marks and soul marks? Those two combined make staff pretty nasty. Yes the recharge reduction is always nice, but honestly you can live without it. It’s only 20%.

Don’t knock it too much until we try it. Yeha sinking it behind a grandmaster is frustrating, but it’s an improvement. I almost feel like they listened to my suggestion some when I suggested something like this a while back. I just wish they would consider also my suggestion for adding a function to the AA that is built into the longbow itself where you can hold down the button for a longer range and higher damage shot (but it would only be that one shot, pretty much like drawing back a real bow for a long distance, well aimed shot).

Because Focus 4 is good for stacking vulnerablity.

Interestingly is, if i only use autoattacks, my dps with offhand dagger seems a little higher than with focus offhand (tested it on the golems in the mists). Which is strange as the weapondamage of offhands shouldnt effect the the 1-3 skills…

Auto attacks are a culmination of attack power and weapon dps, so yes having an offhand dagger will net you higher autos because daggers have higher base weapon damage than focus. However, the vulnerability, along with the multiple bounces will make your overall dps higher using a focus over time as compared to a d/d setup.

Well there are sigils that offer dodges, such as superior sigil of energy and superior sigil of stamina. I would prefer sigil of energy since killing an opponent doesn’t always happen when you need an extra dodge.

Yeah stamina is great for wvw, pretty worthless in pvp though

Custom Arena problems

So my guild and I finally got our own custom arena but is there some reason we can’t do just a 2v2 match? We’ve tried messing with all of the settings and no matter what we do the matches just won’t start with a 2v2 setup. Am I missing something here? I couldn’t find anything about it in the FAQ and didn’t find anything with google search besides some custom arena previews. Any help would be appreciated. While we have enough people to do full teams, we would still like to do small team fights.

because vigor falls under that whole “mobility” thing and they already stated, quite clearly, necros won’t get mobility because it’s supposed to be “attrition” class. Meaning we’re supposed to hunker down and stick out the fight rather than zipping around all over trying not to get hit like some ferret on crack. Sadly, their vision of attrition doesn’t compute with how our class actually is, so all we can do is cling to life the best we can and hope our team shows up in time to bail us out.

If the condis worked like they used to and stuck on them for a longer duration simply by the area touching them once, then this skill would be good still. but now, like I said, even with them sitting in it for a few seconds, it doesn’t matter. The second they leave that circle the condis drop off, thereby making this skill pretty pointless because no one is going to stand in it and our “attrition” methods of keeping them there are nigh-nonexistent.

If they scaled it to ticking per second, they’d also need to scale back its durations, which is the point. Its actually more forgiving to enemies with quick reactions, and less forgiving to people who are screwing around.

But you don’t need skills to take down people screwing around. They usually wind up getting themselves killed by just standing in one spot eating dps anyway. In it’s current state it really doesn’t have much place in pvp. Even in wvw, where you used to be able to drop it in front of a gate or something, it’s now pretty pointless to bring.

I think I used it in pve a few times, but with so much access to those conditions on shorter cd’s (or no cd at all on scepter auto) and epidemic along with other classes that can do the same conditions so even in pve it’s pretty pointless. A whole re-design of the skill is needed which is sad because it used to be such a neat skill (in theory anyway)

Atlas Feedback

There’s a few things I would like to see added to the atlas that I think players would really appreciate (especially new ones that missed the old content) .

  • Some of the more popular cutscenes from the past content such as the actual destruction of the Tower of Nightmares. I was very surprised to find it wasn’t there at all.
  • I can understand there being nothing about the thaumanova accident because they prob want us to go through the fractal to see it firsthand, but to leave no mention whatsoever about it seems a little amiss.
  • Mentions the molten alliance briefly, but again, no cutscenes, explanations. it’s just some art.

So I guess tl;dr:

  • Add in some of the old cutscenes
  • Add some more detail about the specific events

Other than that I think the atlas is awesome and look forward to seeing where they take it next

Getting d/c in kessex hills

Constantly getting d/c while playing in kessex hills area. I spent about 2 hours in there and d/c at least 7 times. As soon as I left the zone and did other things, my d/c’s stopped. I was also experiencing lag spikes while there (latency spikes not fps) randomly throughout the zone (the spikes didn’t always coincide with a d/c).

The honest to goodness problem with it is, the duration of the conditions themselves on it are laughable if you just walk out of the area of effect. They disappear almost immediately. In order to get the full “oomph” out of this skill, you need to keep them in it, which is a notorious problem of necros (keeping them in the fight where you want them)

Another problem, like op mentioned, would be the duration of the skill itself. It’s far too easy to simply kite around it until it runs out and then it has been wasted and it’s out of commission for another 40 seconds. The only fixes I can foresee making it viable would be larger area, longer duration, or longer condis/cover condi added but since necro condis are being phased out I doubt that will happen.

If they added a blast finisher to axe 3 you can put money on it that they would remove the retaliation, reduce the cripple, and cut damage in half all so we can….what? Blast into our dark fields for even more useless blind? No thank you. I’m with Dramor. Whirl on axe 2 would be great.

Also if they plan on keeping staff auto craptastic like it is now then it needs a better proc chance of a finisher, something like a 45% chance or a 20% chance per enemy hit (since the shot pierces)- not meaning it accumulates 20% per hit, but that each hit has it’s individual chance of the 20% proc. That would be far more interesting imo. Would be incentive to auto on it more and require more skill to line up your shots.

I think we need an elite ranged minion, something like a greater flesh wurm or something, that way we could potentially have 3 reliable sources of projectile finishers. I think poison fields need fixing too. A leap or projectile into poison creates….poison…. redundancy wins!

  • This achievement is also a tricky one, I would recommend you disable your auto attack so that you are precisely controlling when you hit the holograms. Necros, Rangers, Mesmers; watch your minions, pets, clones, and phantasms, their damage counts against you if you are not attuned. Engineers, your turrets fall under that category as well. For all professions, I would recommend crafting your build based solely on damage your character does and not use any summons or sources of outside damage. Again, attention is critical, always be aware of your current attunement and the attunement of the hologram you are fighting.

Really? Check out what those F1-4 keys do.

Yes, the F1-4 jay makes you clones explode, making AOE damage, which means they can hit an enemy with the wrong attunement. Doesn’t seem to solve anything.

Distortion (F4 key) is not supposed to do damage unless you’re traited for something like confusion on clone kill, ect and if so you should prob not run that kind of build in there anyway.

No More Tricks, Scarlet

  • This achievement requires a good deal of skill and awareness, make sure you are watching for the red telegraphs that show where the Holograms will fire next and make sure you do not run through any active scorch marks during the fight, good luck!

For rangers, does our pet count against us if it runs into the fire? Because I have done (at minimum that I know for sure) 3 events where I never got hit on my ranger, but my pet did quite a bit and I never got credit for it. Can you confirm or deny (or maybe do some testing on it) whether or not the pets getting hit counts against you? If so this is going to be nigh impossible for rangers to do.

I hope it wasn’t Bubbles. Underwater combat is atrocious and I don’t want new underwater content until they revamp that entire mechanic.

I was hoping that we’d get the manta people, complete with 2-3 zones which are entirely underwater. Seriously.

Many of us love underwater fights. Perhaps you play one of the classes that is kitten underwater, so it’s understandable, but don’t assume everyone hates it just because you do. I would absolutely LOVE a fully underwater zone. Now do I think this dragon is the water one? Of course not. And do I think underwater fighting is perfect? Of course not. It still needs some work, especially a separate trait tree or at the very least the option to select and “underwater version” of certain traits and skills that normally are useless underwater.

with the spoiler notes I would have definitely thought it was Primordus. I mean, a huge kitten drill? That’s like getting the Vigil to send out submarines in the waters expecting Bubbles, but end up getting Kralk instead!

Colin I do hope that as we shift our focus to Mordremoth, you’ll consider feeding us some content that deals with his champions first. Hopefully a new metaevent.

The drill is shown to be hitting the magical ley line on the screen, not some dragon. The reason Modremoth was still asleep was he had no need to wake. He had tapped into the lines and was sort of drip-feeding off them. When Scarlet interrupted the major convergence of them, it woke him up cause his drugs were cut off. Now he’s going on a withdrawal-induced rampage to get his world-juice back. I think she really believed she could defeat him after he woke up, which shows how truly nuts she was.

But hey, one plant lady’s schizo is another persons new content lol.

Yeah people will whine and complain even if you give them exactly what they ask for. I for one really enjoyed this last update. I think the end fight with her in the solo instance seemed a tad bit cut short, but overall it was good. The cutscenes were as good as I had hoped. Fix up the bugs so we can complete a whole event and I think this will be one of the best ones yet.

As for the boss fights, I think they were pretty well done. I enjoyed them all (well almost all since I get d/c at the end every time)

And one last note for everyone saying “where’s the answers….this went nowhere….blah blah blah”:


Go back and do the final solo instance. Click each of the computers and read them in her little command center. It tells you right there that experts need to be brought in to decipher it all. We know there’s one more small bit coming…so be patient. Answers will be given.

Have you guys even tried this event yet? Cause reading all this sure sounds like you haven’t. Yeah he throws condis back at you. But you do have other weapons you know. Go to the weapon merchant vendor, grab an axe and a staff. Then equip plague signet (patience I will explain why) well of power, and honestly anything else you want ( I have been using well of corruption since it doesn’t automatically apply condis and he has no boons to flip so… but I did use flesh wurm and put him well out of range of the aoe as an escape when I did red one because molten guys spawn and can make things uncomfortable sometimes). Auto with staff (boring yes yes I get it) I even throw mark of blood down occasionally to regen people trying to rez the no-dodgers at his feet. The pitiful bleed it has is barely noticeable. When the colored buff circles come up, swap to axe and axe 2 for a burst. Even as a condi spec it does some damage. When the starts to aoe again swap back to staff and do the dodgy thing, repeat. You can also just sit in staff and keep your scepter on standby until the boss becomes susceptible to condis towards the end phase.

Now, as to why I chose plague signet and well of power:
You’re gonna get condis on you regardless. At least this way you have ways to unload them as well as help others around you who don’t know how to stop using condis keep them off. Between well of power and consume conditions, the only times I ever went down was when I was lazy dodging. Never from condis. Ever. And with those 2 skills, I had a metric ton of boons on me at all times. You know what it’s like for a necro to be loaded with nearly every boon? Of course not because it hardly ever happens. It’s nice. I can dodge all. day. long. (except when I get lazy lol) And since we’re not top dps’ers it doesn’t hurt much to the dps as a whole to be one of the people stopping to rezz downs (not deads…I don’t rez those). And now when you get to the top to the condi only boss all you have to do is swap to your condi weapons real fast - which can be done because there's room to run out of combat up there- and go about your merry way.

Don’t knock till you’ve tried it. I’ve done 4 of these event so far and aside from the thing disconnecting me at the very end the first time then bugging the portals the remaining times, it has worked wonderfully.

-Druss, I highly disagree that our defenses are the "laughing stock" of the gaming community. If anything, I'd say the ranger is a better candidate. I'm sorry, but calling it that is just ridiculous cuz it simply isn't true. What IS true is that people like damage. Necros are bad$$es at dealing damage. But when you go all out on damage you sacrifice your survival. It’s just the way it is. And it just so happens that the majority of people like damage, and they grab everything damage – traits, weapons, utilities – and then they say we can’t survive O_o. When you look at a high damage thief, for example. A lot of the time they have all three (or most) of their utilities as defenses (Shadow refuge, Blinding Powder, Shadowstep). Elementalist (lightning flash, mist form, armor of earth). Warrior (endure pain, zerk stance, balanced stance), Mesmer (Blink, Decoy). So why don’t you sprinkle yourself with some defense? I will admit that survival isn’t the easiest (in WvW, when compared with many other classes), but it’s very possible, while STILL maintaining a high amount of damage. In other game modes, I don’t see it AS difficult as WvW because WvW survival requires mobility, which Necro doesn’t have an easy access to. I’m assuming you are referring to WvW because you are talking about team fights.

I disagree with you. I play ranger as well and my defenses as well as escapes on ranger are like night and day compared to necro. My survivability is through the roof and I don’t have to load my bar with defensive utilities to do it either. 1 stun break or invuln is all that’s needed. The rest are on the weapons themselves and tied up in traits that you would usually take anyway in a variety of builds.

These are things that necro lacks. and while I know they said they are refusing to give necro mobility (which is something I’m fine with btw) they give nothing in return for survivability (which really should translate to sustainability for necros). And yes Im talking about wvw, but even in pvp, we’ve had our damage shaved significantly, but they’ve also hacked up our defenses and not given much sustain in return. It’s like they want every class to be able to counter necros yet necros counter to none. It’s not balance with necros, because to have balance you need to bring one thing up and lower another to achieve equilibrium. In this case, they wanted to lower our damage. I’m fine with that, it needed to be done, but in doing so they also lowered our sustain.

That’s not balance, That’s hack-n-slash nerfing. On top of all that they now gave out condi immunities to everyone else and even gave warrior yet another physical immunity…because that’s really what the most sustainable and high damage class in the game really needed…. and lowered our weakness, chopped up our bleeds, removed DS as our one defensive tool we could count on to be reliable and removed one of the best aspect of team play we had (looking at you putrid mark cleanse). So what are we given in return? A healing signet that doesn’t heal and a faster reanimator that doesn’t proc when you need it (during fights) making the faster uptime on it pointless.

If these past few months are any indication of where we’re headed, necro is in trouble. Right now yeah we can scrape by, but there’s only so far you can sink this class before it becomes unplayable.

And don’t even get me started on pve necro. What a walking disaster….

Does this still justify the reductions in our other non-related bleed skills and terror?

Or will the requirement for entry still be to make the burning work, at all costs, because that currently is (and will remain) one of the needed damaging effects to take down certain classes.

I guess it all depends on the other unspecified changes, but I still think the hit (in spvp only) is going to be too hard.

The thing you are leaving out is the additional conditions we will be able to apply through the extra sigils. For example, with 30 in spite:
-Geomancy. It not only deals damage, but it can crit AND cause bleed on-crit effects, such as Earth sigils (1 stack, up to 6-7 seconds) and 5 points in Curses (1 stack, 2-3 secs). So on top of the raw power damage, and the chance of causing 1-2 additional bleeds, it causes 3 stacks of bleed for 9 seconds, every 10-second weapon swap. If this is taken to begin with, you could still have Sigil of Earth, which will cause additional bleeds than we currently have. Or… on top of Geomancy, the sigil below.
-Sigil of Doom – about 6-7 secs, every 10-sec weapon swap. You will be able to keep up basically constant poison on the target (if they don’t cleanse, but even if they do, the poisons are spaced out enough that it will apply again rather quickly).
- Not to mention Hydromancy, which could basically hold your opponent in place, making it easier to land life blast, for example. Or could even allow you to deal damage easier, since you won’t have to worry about kiting as much.

These combinations are the sort of stuff we DON’T have at our disposal at the moment, but we will have access to with just the sigils. So yes, Dhuumfire will be less accessible, but that’s not. the. only. change. being. made. and we need to stop looking at it as it’s the only change happening.
Also: good players will adapt and will make it a part of a new rotation of skills, in my opinion. Currently, your opponent can do very little to counter Dhuumfire. Very. Litttle. Especially when you sprinkle in those Terror-fears. That makes it super strong, maybe too strong. This at least gave some professions a way to avoid it, as opposed to eating it each time. Lastly, I don’t think a profession’s strength is solely reliant on one trait.

Currently dumbfire is uncounterable, not hard to counter. I am not arguing it should stay the same, I am simply pointing out the hit is going to overshoot the balance side of things (again in Spvp, not WvW, where the change will be fine).

I don’t buy the argument that the new sigil system is a buff for us, because it is a buff for everyone, arguably it will be much stronger on other classes than us that have less situational opportunities and more frequent chances to swap (IE warriors).

And no, the class strength is not reliant on one trait, but that one trait took the class from not desired, to heavily desired. It stands to reason a severe reduction in that trait will result in a similar effect.

I don’t like spite or dumbfire, I would rather put zero points in spite, but because of the gutting to terror damage and bleeds, and the prevailance of heavy removal already, it doesn’t work so well.

Being a 2nd class citizen is fine, it makes the class more fun because it is less popular, but I would rather they lower damage while raising survivability, rather than just lowering damage. Again we shall have to wait and see how it all pans out.

Death Magic trait reworks will be happening, but nowhere were they ever promised, or even suggested as being in this coming patch. We know they’re coming, but there is no possible way to say “when” right now.

We need them in this patch because atm having no blocks, no evades, etc etc and light armor and no viable defensive trait line is killing necros in high level pvp.

Death magic should be a defensive trait line with minor traits which significantly help in this area.

Chill out, we’re managing right now and they haven’t announced any plans to harm our defense. Heck, they’ve announced fixing a major bug that limits our survivability.

Yes, the changes need to come, but they don’t need to come -right now-. If you want to put in your input, dig back through for the “Compilation of Death Magic Minor Ideas” thread and add to it.

You can’t harm something that we don’t even have. Our “defense” is the laughing stock of the gaming community right now. If it wasn’t, then necros wouldn’t be #1 in priority targets in team fights and half the time in wvw we get the big red T over our heads. As for adding to an already bloated list of death magic ideas that will, ultimately, get ignored, we should be constantly down their throats to remove dumbfire and get us back where we were before this fiasco and balance from there

What are you even saying here? That people who run zerk and skip/stack don’t know how to play?

Please show us a vid of you running CoF P1 naked with level 75’s in a reasonable amount of time and, yes, when I said one hour it was a slight exaggeration.

Not all people who zerk and skip are skill-less. But you’ll find a whole lot more that are than not. And I too was exaggerating a bit about running naked, but challenge accepted. Soon as I find people dumb…err brave enough to do it I will post a vid of naked 75’s running CoF…might be a while though because I only have 1 toon left to level, the rest are 80’s and he’s only 50-ish.

If they ran past you, fine you got something going.

But often I see players who do not play smart.

If you are 25% downed and you notice that a mob nearby is low health and currently being attacked by someone else, what is the smart thing to do?

Heal yourself?

NO!

You tag that mob so you can rally as soon as it’s dead.

If I see 4 normal mobs ganging up on a downed player, I 100% of the time will not rez you immediately. I can kill 4 normal mobs quicker than it takes to rez one player while taking hits. And I certainly expect players to realize this and tag the mob so that they will rally right away.

But don’t lump the whole community into the same group as greedy bag farmers. Many of us, myself included, will go out of our way to help you back up (if it’s possible to do so, sometimes there’s just no way).

The things that really kitten me off though are when you’re rezzing someone, they wait until you get them almost to full and up, and they waypoint out….
Or if you rez someone, and within a span of 15 seconds they go back down because either:

  • they have no business trying to run a glass cannon build if they don’t know how to use it
  • they don’t take the time to heal after they are up but rather just throw their barely alive body right back into the fire to get blasted apart again
  • they try to solo 15 mobs thinking somehow they will magically walk away from that
    ^ those are the ones I stop rezzing after a few tries. I’ll go out of my way to help you, but only if you’re helping yourself too.

Depends on the dungeon you were trying to do. Necros are mediocre in most dungeons but not terrible. They can do speed runs in the easier ones, but dungeons like arah that are riddled with 1 shots unless you have ample blocks/invades/invulnerabilities, ect you will become a liability and slow the team down. People that speed run are going for maximum speed and effectiveness, so if you make them take 2 mins longer than they want, they get mad. Dungeons are just not designed with necros in mind at all. They are designed around boon heavy classes and warriors. That doesn’t mean they can’t be done with a necro, but you’re not going to do efficient speed runs and unfortunately, rude people like the one you ran into care only about shaving off as much time as possible and will kick you for no reason. This is why if you run necro and want a dungeon group you always:

  • advertise it yourself and enter the dungeon FIRST
  • advertise in big capital letters NO SPEED RUN (although this only works 25% of the time as people just spam click join and never bother to even read which path much less whether it’s a speed run or not)
  • or just don’t run necro and don’t worry about getting kicked from groups.

It’s a sad truth about the state of the class, but it is as much the community’s fault as the poor design of the class itself. Get used to it, I doubt it will change anytime soon.

So quite frequently in this update, my skills become unusable. And I’m not talking fps lag, nor ping (latency) lag -at least it’s not acting like latency. They just stop working completely. The only solution is to log out/back in or get killed. I’ve tried swapping weapons via hero panel, equip/unequip, swap town clothes….all the usual tricks. Nothing. It’s not character specific either. Anyone have a fix for this that doesn’t involve complete reinstall?

bombs, grenades, throw mine, their toolbelt abilities, and tossed elixirs if traited with acidic elixirs. also turret explosions are affected by explosive powder.

only bombs, grenades, throw mine are reflected in the tooltips as being affected, and it doesn’t affect any of the other things labeled “explosions”. The whole point was it needs cleaning up one way or another. Needs to affect all or the ones that aren’t affected need their tooltips fixed.

Anyone else think explosive powder trait (or more specifically skills with the words “explosion” in them needs more clarifying? I mean turret explosions are explosions, so is FT #2, yet the trait doesn’t affect them. Not sure it even affects minefield. Either the skill descriptions need cleaning up or the trait needs to work on anything with the term “explosion” in it. Thoughts?

if they do change stats drastically later on, I would hope they would allow for a one-time change like they did when they removed magic find. If they don’t do that, then yeah I agree there will be an uproar over being stuck with unwanted stats on ascended gear. I honestly am in no hurry to craft my ascended stuff. I do it as I’m able to, and if not, it doesn’t hurt my feelings any. The stat gain over exotic is not noticeable unless you sit counting damage tooltips while you fight and add it up constantly.

Impossible to do this now as no one wants to do it.
It would be better to start as we we mean to go on and able to solo it like the other story modes.

You need to learn to use the lfg tool. I spent every bit of 15 seconds typing in I wanted story mode and had a full party in max of 45 seconds. We ran the entire dungeon, no leavers. I have never once had a problem getting a group for this dungeon. They’ve already nerfed nearly every encounter in this dungeon (some of the airship fights used to actually be semi-challenging, especially the final airship) so asking for even more nerfs on an already faceroll easy dungeon is a terrible idea. It’s the final story it should require some kind of group.

And by “solo the other story modes” I hope you mean personal story and not story dungeons. Cause I’d sure like to see you solo some of them. AC and CM don’t count, anyone can solo those, but you’re not getting through CoF, CoE, ect solo.

If you look at light armor hoods, the base of the hood goes off in such a ridiculous direction that it makes me sick to look at it. It’s not even a small gap like you’re showing, it sits well above the shoulder armor and has a large ringed gap all the way around the neck. it’s disgusting

if you insist on sitting at 1500 range and trying to hit moving targets with a creepingly slow projectile that is well beyond your pet’s attack range, might as well flag the pet off combat and use a moa so you can passive buff with their f2 skill. Have a wolf on swap so if they come after you, you can fear them off and run like hell. I know your intent is to do max dps as a “sniper” but you still need at least 1 escape or you’re just a free kill. I’ve tried a build like this before and gonna tell you right now, your hit ratio is going to be extremely low. players doing simple side strafing will dodge your shots 90% of the time. In theory this is an excellent build. In practice, not so much.

Um, necros can have 3 sec of stabo every 6 sec with unlimited uses.

Not true, while it may be off cooldown when fully traited with reduced DS cd there’s no way you’ll be able to keep up enough LF to do it every 6 seconds on demand, and if you’re flashing DS that much, woe to you because that means you’ll rarely have access to your heals when needed thanks to the skill-lockout bug when exiting DS

Stop killing build diversity BY killing builds that are so OP that they effectively cause gravitation away from diversity. HAMBOW would be a classic example.

HAMBOW is a warrior spec, and as such, is untouchable by nerfs. Stop kidding around :P

I’m curious with glory being removed, what will replace it as incentive to continue with pvp? I’m primarily a PVE player, but I saw that with glory and gold I can purchase the tome of knowledge to level my PvE characters. This for me was a big motivator to actually participate in pvp matches. Will rewards like this still be available after the March patch?

I think too many of you are getting stuck on the word ‘order" the OP used. His main point, and a valid one, is that people won’t listen to commanders. Nor will they utilize the tools commanders and squads have (even though the whole commander system is severely lacking, you still need to use it to its full potential). Like when marionette first came out, I would ask every single time for people to join my squad that were going to be in my lane. It helps me keep track of them better, it helps me coordinate via map drawing, and we can separate our lane’s chat from the screaming over map chat.

Yet every single time, even up to now, I get maybe at max 1-4 people join squad….I can understand if people don’t know how, but I tell them how each time. Right click me-join squad, then /d for chat shortcut. Not rocket science.

And no, I do not issue “orders”. I let people choose their roles and I adjust from there as needed by asking for volunteers to fill in where needed. But this can only be accomplished when people show up with the mindset of willingly following a lead and working as a coordinated unit.

I can see this from a non-commander’s point too though. You got some random bloke with a tag he/she bought and nothing to back up their commanding experience to help you put trust in their command decisions.

There needs to be a better way to get this tag than just being wealthy. Something that reflects their commanding ability. I’ve always thought achievement points would be a good method. Maybe not the best, but better than just blowing gold on it. It would at least mean you spent a reasonable amount of time in game doing something and not some 10yr old kid that whipped out mom and dad’s c-card a week after they got the game just so he/she can boss around other players.

tl:dr-
Listen to your commanders please. Join their squads…use squad chat /d
If they act like jerks, leave their squad and ignore them. It’s what you were originally going to do anyway right? At least give them the chance, and make a concerted effort to pay attention.
Commanders: Don’t be jerks, respect the players, coordinate firmly but fairly and respectfully.

I like that they nerfed Dumbfire…but in all honesty (and this is coming from a diehard necro player) Dumbfire needs to be gone, burned in it’s own consuming flames, and swept up to never be spoken of again. Most of the necro community never wanted this fail of a trait, we still don’t. We knew the horrors it would unleash on our already nerf-heavy class. It had a good run for those 2 weeks though, was almost worth it to hear the QQ’s. But it needs to be gone. Forever.
