My wish list for gem store goodies:
- Mini Snaff
- Mini Taimi
- Potion that will allow you to become very tiny or very huge for a good amount of time, ie 30 minutes or 15 at least
“Also let us inform you that while not every instance have the option to repair, craft, vendors and others you do have the portal gate that will take you straight to your City where you should be able to sell and take advantage of every other NPC and their purpose.”
That is simply not true! It does not work that way for Asuran, and I doubt for other races as well, although I only tested it on Asuran.
If, as an Asuran, you use the Home Portal Stone to go to yur home instance, then go thru the gate to Rata Sum, you have broken the return chain and will not be able to return to your original starting location.
I started in Metrica, used the stone to go to my home instance, went to the gate to Rata Sum, declined return to Metrica and entered gate to Rata Sum. When I returned to my Home Instance and clicked the stone, I ended up in Rata Sum, not Metrica.
Hopefully Anet will add features to the Asuran Home Instance (and others also “shorted”) to make the Home Portal Stone worthwhile. As it now stands its totally useless for Asuran characters.
That’s true…. all my characters are Asura. The lack of any of the concierges currently makes the home portal stones mute. I’d like to see every race have the same conveniences to their home instance.
I have a friend in my usual party dungeon runs whose main is a hammer. Frankly I never had an issue with it… he’s awesome at using that weapon.
The canonical answer is a mix of what everyone here said. The asura as a society are not “good”. They are devious and calculating, even amongst themselves. One of the personal story options is to save a crew member or leave him to his fate. if you save him you are warned that your sentimentality is a weakness that could get exploited (paraphrase). Also, there is various NPC dialog around the world like an asura asking a charr inventor what kindof inventor doesn’t have expendable lab assistants.
So the answer is really that while there are some asura that detest the inquest and their methods, there are also plenty of asura that support them. To the point that they even have sympathisers on the council.
I totally agree…none of them are “good”. But I still love the Asura the best, and try to play mine as an exception – one who abhors experimentation on other Asura or any other race. My characters see life as priceless and tries to help others, rather than take advantage of them.

I guess my big problem is the lore presentation isn’t consistent. There is a lot of material that portray Asurans as valuing knowledge and its pursuit as being more important that concepts like good and evil… I think the bit with the Krewe captured by the Krait is a very good example.
So given this context, I would not expect that basically every time the Inquest are referred to in-game, it’s in the context that they are evil, and all of their actions that we see are basically evil (you would think they would do an experiment once in a while that doesn’t involve hurting somebody, just based on random chance). Essentially they should be portrayed as amoral and not immoral, and I don’t think they are.
Well, like humans, you can’t generalize individuals and put them in a box. There’s always the exception. I’ve ran into the ‘typical Asura npc’ who share that sentiment as that Krewe leader. But on the other hand, I’ve ran across several very kind Asura too.
There are some evil Asura who aren’t Inquest. The Inquest are evil… no getting around that. But I’m sure there are those who have enlisted (either not understanding what they were getting into or those who are tired of that lifestyle), and wishes there was a way they could defect.
I love my guardy Asuras because they’re the smallest they can be, and defy logic…beating the living daylights out of foes. It’s also awesome how their tiny little selves can provide stabilization from knockdowns and break off fear attacks for her and those around her. Not to mention giving aegis and removing conditions for others.
It’s the fact that something so small and insignificant in the eyes of other races, could be such powerhouses and very important in Tyria.
…and the elder dragons consume magic, aren’t we in danger?
Count me in if interested.
No no no, Snaff was almost successful in controlling Kralkatorrik’s mind. He was a mere few seconds short of doing so when Kral’s minions opened Big Snaff(his golem) and murdered him. The reason why the minions got to Snaff? Cause Logan was called back to Ebonhawke to protect Queen Jennah.
Exactly!! Snaff rocked the Tyrian world with his genius.
“Snaff specialized in the creation of enormous combat golems, but many of his smaller inventions focused on using telepathic control instead of machines”
“Snaff grappled with the mind of the Elder Dragon directly”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Snaff
I’d guess Mesmer with all that mind manipulation.
Excelsior! Thank you very much!
Also, this would have made Snaff the most powerful Asura mesmer in GW2 history. None of the lesser dragons (Claw of Jormag, Teq, Shatter, etc) would have had anything over Snaff… he grappled the mind of an elder dragon. What does that say about about present day mesmers? Much, much weaker. If Snaff could hold his own against an elder dragon, where does that put the rest of us?

I can’t find this information anywhere. Anyone know?
I’d like to see a mod where we could actually make our Asuras into progenies. We can only make them so small now.
Society of Asura Anachronism is a brand new guild seeking roleplayers from any server. Repping is not required unless roleplaying. Although based on Asura culture, any race is allowed.
Send me a note or whisper in-game for an invite and details. No stringent web applications to complete and no bureaucratic red tape in order to have fun.
ERP is not allowed.
Well, I’ve had the same rate of success as you, and just created my own. Let me know in-game if you’re interested.
I dont have any high level characters my higher level character is 20, i’m looking for a guild that can RP and can help me with, game, im sociable and im in vacation, so im up for everything, if you want to help me PM ]me in game, name: anlocoms
In my experience, rp guilds tend to ignore those outside their social circles if asked in-game. Most avoid sending guild invites on the spot. But and if you are ‘lucky’ to be IM’d, there are usually some ridiculous requirements you have to meet to even be considered. So much for simplicity. Haven’t had much success with the guild engin websites – even after the formality of signing up and contacting various groups. Back to old-fashion paper, in-person rpg’s for me.

I"m on a NA server
Looking for a friendly small-medium sized RPG guild (non-elitest). A guild that does not allow cliques, and values all new and established members alike. It doesn’t matter what server. I can always guest if it’s different from mine. I’ve played table RPG’s for years. No E-RP.

One of my husband’s toons is a mesmer, but made it a woman due to the feminine butterfly effects it has. Would it be possible for ArenaNet to include a patch to provide a more masculine effect for male players, such as maybe a puff of smoke, ravens, skulls, etc that would be less effeminate for male players?

Has anyone noticed the female Asura’s laugh (audio) stops as soon as she rolls on the ground? The full animation is still there, but her laugh is cut short.
On the other hand, the male Asura’s laugh runs its course in sound and animation.
I’d love to have a mini Snaff more than anything to be honest, but would settle to have a Mr. Sparkles too.
I agree.. I’ve noticed other players get “bent out of shape” when someone “disrupts” a rotation. Some do not have the speed to keep up, and harsh words are said from other players when “their” pattern is broken. Please randomize all Queensdale champs, like as Wasp.
There is always a High Lvl Zerg around starter areas like Queensdale, where they go through a "rotation"to fight spawning Champions one after the other. I think you should randomize the events to prevent this. That or other means to fix this problem. Please fix his soon.
