You could set up a macro to spam the loot key, although I’m not sure that’s permitted by the ToS. Personally I’d just like to have all drops go straight to my inventory.
That’s against the EULA as it gives you an unfair advantage.
No it doesn’t and Anet has already said that 1 action per key is allowed for macros. Auto-loot keybind is already limited to one use per second so it can’t be spammed anyway. Just set it up to attach to the back button on your mouse and have it repeat every second or so.
There’s a big difference between an infinite loop script and reading an X as a Y.
The whole point of this thread is that lazy people want it on an infinite loop, because they can’t press F on their own.
Just set it up to attach to the back button on your mouse and have it repeat every second or so.
Sounds like an infinite loop to me.
I think they were nice enough to put the loot bag at your feet. It’s not too much to ask that you press the F key every once in a while.
Next thing people will be complaining about is “using my skills is too tedious and boring. I have to think of what skill I want to use, move my character in range, and then press different buttons to activate my skills. It’s much too hard! Meanwhile other people are attacking me! Anet, please make it so the game fires off all my skills at the most efficient times.”
Why do people seem to feel that WvW (or to a lesser extent PvP) is something of some special importance. PVE’ers defend their server from dragons, trolls, pirates and all sorts of other dangers. I don’t remember anyone complaining about playing the game being too hard and needing auto triggers for pointless things like looting.
New hair is always a plus. Every MMO I’ve played I suggest really long hair in various tied and untied forms.

Aren’t there already bags you can craft that do this?
So…you mean they should give you skins, not actual armor? Like the shatter wings, or the achievement weapons. Id be cool with this, Im just clarifying.
No. The rewards would essentially be the same as now (maybe increased a little because most of the rewards are kinda useless). Instead of having to choose your reward solely based on which one’s stats fills your need or which looks better, a player could choose the skin they prefer AND which of the stats they want. Imagine it looking like the Transmutation dialogue, but with 3 or 4 pre-set options for each of the 2 or 3 sections.
I wouldn’t mind if they did this, and gave us a few extra (NEW!) skin options.
Because for the 99% of people who are able to click the correct button, it would be nice not to have to click on the confirmation button every time I want to exit the game.
Quoted for truth… well a close approximation of the truth anyways. It’s annoying when you’re in a hurry to leave and programs keep prompting you if you’re sure about things.
“Quit”
“Are you sure you want to quit?”
-Yes that’s why I clicked the button.
“Are you REALLY sure you want to quit?”
-Yes! That’s why I clicked on the kitten button!
“If you really want to quit, answer this skill testing question: 2(5 + / 4 * 6 =
39
“To quit please enter your first pet’s third uncle’s name”
uh, Rex?
Even after all that. I’m sure people would still complain about accidentally quitting the game.
There’s a prompt for logging out and switching characters because there’s an option. Either you log out or switch characters.
There’s no prompt on the quit button because if you don’t want to quit, you don’t click the button. There’s no options there.
Why don’t you click more carefully instead of subjecting everyone to necessary prompts?
(edited by Euthymia.4807)
Often when playing through the story and asked what reward I would like, it’s a choice between 3 pieces of armor. There’s usually not much difference, or I choose anything because I’ve already got better. I think Story Rewards need to be buffed because most of the time the pickings are pretty sad, but that’s for another thread.
Sometimes I pick the rewards only based on what looks better and thought. What if they let us pick what our reward looked like? The way I think of it is the person is offering to make/have someone make you a piece of armor or weapon as your reward.
The reward would feel more personal if the player was prompted to choose from a selection of skins, and then choose which stats they want on it. In essence like the transmutation stones, but with 3 or 4 (maybe more) options.
Has anyone come up with the notes for the Encounters of the Third kind? You know that Song the aliens play?
No one?
“To get the spaceships’ attention prior to their arrival at Devil’s Tower, the five notes the scientists play are G, A, F, (octave lower) F, C. When they arrive at the tower and are attempting communication, the notes they play are B flat, C, A flat, (octave lower) A flat, E flat.”
I failed music and have no idea how to convert that into do, re, mi, etc
I thought this would have gotten more attention… hmm
To be honest, the Ranger armor in the Gem Shop seems to be the best of the coat-armors…
I don’t have the game open right now, but there’s Ranger armor in the gem shop now? This must be new.
the cultural armor is meant to look good on that specific race. For them to be seen as a prophet (i think thats what you meant) child, would require them to make many more storylines, something like 40 more. one for each race in each different other race’s zones. not to mention the different choices you make would have to be different. as a sylvari, you wouldn’t be able to join a warband, which is what your story is as a charr. you have to remake your warband. Even if they didn’t make you special as an orphan and they kept it the same story, they would have to record a lot more dialogue and such.
There is no way they could fit this into the lore. A charr nobleman of divinity’s reach? i don’t think so
It’s an idea. If not for now, then definitely for an expansion. I think it would be really cool.
Also don’t forget your raised by the other race, so a Sylvari in a warband could make sense. Then they could add some decisions and dilemmas that arise as the character learns about their own race.
Commanders and leaders of the sort should have specific channels for that sort of thing.
Kind of like how in EVE Fleet leaders have a channel where they can chat with everyone in that fleet regardless of what wing or squad people are in.
I was doing some personal story quests while watching some classic Disney movies (They are awesome even as a adult!), when I thought of an idea that would blur racial lines.
What if we could create characters that were orphans and raised by another race? They could be seen as outcasts and have to prove themselves or be seen as a profit child or something.
This could also be good for people that want to play one race, but prefers the cultural armor of another.
Also, you can just ask someone you know/trust to return to sender mail items. That’s what I do when I don’t feel like using my Personal Banker Golem’s.
Thats assuming you have someone with you though, and you then mention a very key point. TRUST.
If you willingly hand over an item and they decide they would rather keep it and sell….you are in essence out of pocket.
I know there is a method and mechanic in place (bank) but I stand by my suggestion with the amended points in my last point so as not to impact inventory space.
Mail space is already limited, and they aren’t going to let you mail yourself for the reasons already mentioned.
Either guy more bank space or more inventory bag space. Those are your ONLY two options.
+1 this idea. They are just spammed around. I don’t really see the point in them.
I am pretty sure that someone somewhere mentioned that the a single dye can colour differently depending on what material its dying.
And as is obvious from playing the game, this does not mean “heavy armor looks different from medium which in turn looks different from medium”, but rather that the material in the armor piece, such as cloth or metal, dyes in a different way.
And naturally, there are even differences within those parameters.
That could be it, then it would be helpful to somehow differentiate those parts. I understand that some parts of the armor is metal, leather, or cloth. There should be some icon or label to indicate this.
Not quite that simple. For example, a lot of Heavy Armor has dye slots that colour both metal and cloth parts in one.
So for your idea to work, they would have to alter the colouring system by adding new slots.
Maybe the coloring system could be/should be reworked. They did change the Achievements UI and there wasn’t really anything wrong with the way it was.
Mad Rasputin, I agree with you 100%. I do not understand why they have these restrictions on all this stuff. The least they could do is make some of it account bound so at least you can send it to an alt, if you happen to have one that can actually use the stuff.
However, I have not seen any change since the launch of the game that fixes this type of problem. Only a very few exceptions have I seen this changed for.
Not very player friendly in my opinion. I keep thinking they are only looking at the way to make more $$ for Anet as opposed to allowing players to actually “play the game and use items” as they want.
I don’t see how this makes money for Anet one way or another. If there was a “un-soulbind” item in the gem shop, then the money making argument would have merit.
I don’t know what it is. Either poor foresight or uncaring. I agree it’s pretty stupid that you open those achievement chests and get nothing you can actually use.
When I said that $$ remark, I was thinking about all the stuff for sale in the TP you purchase with gems. Unless you have accumulated sufficient in-game gold, most folks use RL money to purchase gems.
yes, but none of it has to do with PVP gear. I don’t see the connection between soulbound PVP gear and the gem store.

Using the same dye color on armor pieces will sometimes result in different collors appearing on the armor.
For example:
Notice how the orange color is darker on the armor, but on the shoulders it looks more like a yellow/gold color.
Using the same color on Armor pieces should result in the same color appearing on the armor.

I don’t understand what the OP wants. From the title I assume he wants them nerfed, but from his other posts he wants them made stronger?
um, Character creation, remove armor button, set glow color.
Already in game.
Only Nerf I can see happening to portals that wouldn’t cause to much rage is forcing it to only work on:
-Your Self & your party membersWhich would be fine and acceptable, would force people to join the mesmers party to use his or her service but ’ey, would prevent others from QQ because they hit “F” while running around.
would suck for wvw; where portal bombing/golem rushing makes encounters interesting
No but that’s cheating! If you can’t get to where you’re going legit, then you don’t deserve to be there. It’s unfair that you can get around large groups of enemies /walls/defenses because some mesmer put a portal down.
Think of all the effort people put into mounting a defense, and you just skip all of it with a portal.
/sarcasm
I totally disagree with this. In my guild we have some (specially older) people who can’t do jumping puzzles. We are a very social guild that help each other with everything. This includes with doing jumping puzzles.
GW2 is a social game that encourage helping each other. There is nothing wrong with a portal and wanting to get rid of them in puzzles is in my opinion very selfish and anti-social.
So true. I’m one of those old players who can’t do jumping puzzles, (I also have fibromyalgia) My fingers just aren’t flexible enough.
Over the years gamers have become older and older, many who play mmos nowadays are 50+
Something to think about—EDIT— On a side note; -I am of the opinion that in a game you use the tools that are handed to you/your class to achieve the goals/solve problems. Thus, using portals are not cheating imo
Your little side note made me think of something. What’s the point in Mesmer portals if not for skipping content? Mesmer puts one portal down, moves, puts another one down, party/people enter at one end and exit at the other.
What possible use could it have other than moving people past or around things?
That red bar under the skills is this range finder. If the skill has a red bar, you’re out of range.
This is the downfall of games.
I can no longer rob. Steal. Kill. Mislead. Swindle. Betray. Burglerize. Stump. Haras. Drive crazy. Bewitch…. Well i guess you can say greif.People are cry babies now. Every one thinks games revole around them and them alone.
Just yesterday i got banned from a game cause i sold some one a gold ship. They reported me cause it was ’yellow. (it looked damm gold to me)
Some advice kid grow up. Suck it up and move on. Honestly people that complain about every little thing are ruining games
Maybe you need to grow up and realize you ruin games for others.
Only nieve gamers. It just comes to a point were people are going to start complaining that in pvp because some one kills you alot they are picking on you.
And i am gown that why im not complaining about everything cause its not going they way i want it.
I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about you kittening that you can’t:
I can no longer rob. Steal. Kill. Mislead. Swindle. Betray. Burglerize. Stump. Haras. Drive crazy. Bewitch…. Well i guess you can say greif.
Yeah. If you get your jollies by ruining someone else’s fun, then yeah you need to grow up.
Do you also go to the play ground and throw sand in kids eyes and tell their parents “If they don’t like it they can just move away or learn to live with it?”
I find it both hilarious and also kind of sad that all these people wanting to protect their “right to grief” wouldn’t dare grief people out in the “real world”. You’re all just sad individuals with “internet balls”.
I kinda miss the streaming updates that happened in GW1. Anyone know why those don’t exist in GW2?
I don’t need an option like this, but I understand the need for it. Every Asian MMO out there that submits you to multiple hours of patching after a fresh install of their game (Thank you Anent for the up-to-date install btw) has a bandwidth throttling option.
Trion has a simmilar system for Rift, they have a mobile app where you can use guild chat, contact list and even let you know of specific events when they happened.
Yeah I wouldn’t mind if Anet developed their own mobile, desktop, and web-based app for this too. Even if the mobile app wasn’t free. As long as it’s not like 10+$ I’m fine with it.
Trillian works great, but the mobile version has it’s own sets of issues. There’s Pidgin, but that doesn’t even have a mobile version.
This is the downfall of games.

There’s another company that uses Trillian do to such a thing, and it works very well. Although it uses the private messaging system (tells), it’s better than nothing. It’s probably the only good thing they’ve done. They have 3 games, and you can talk to people in any of the 3 via the PM system, and then also from outside the games completely via Trillian. You have to be a subscriber (Gold or Lifetime) to use the Trillian feature though.
Eve also has a nice system. The EVE Gate where you can see your character’s contact list, skill list, queue, and currently training. It’s got a calendar linked to the one in game, and you can send mail to anyone. You have to be subscribed to access the EVE Gate though.
Then you’re using it incorrectly. I’ve seen plenty of Elementalist use it to move their butts into a safer spot so I, or others, can res them.
I can move to a safer spot all I want, but the aggro follows. Logically, it should drop aggro or at least blind foes as you transform so that they don’t follow you.
the salutes in game now are fine. Also I’m pretty sure different country’s military salutes differently anyways. Why do we want the boring US military one?
It seems like you don’t understand the aggro system.
It’s based on proximity (with a bit of LoS), stats (in some cases), damage, control, and utility.
If you want to ensure aggro, root/cc your opponent and stand next to him while bursting him as much as possible while they are rooted/cc’ed. This will make yourself a very large target in the AI’s eyes.
Unless someone goes down. A downed player seems to draw tons of aggro.
Can you please tell me what the point of that mist form ability Elementalists have when they’re down? By the looks of it, it would appear to be a skill used to drop aggro and get a few seconds to move away from danger, but it’s anything but that. Either I’m using it wrong, it’s use is completely counter intuitive or it’s broken.
It’s a disengage. You can use it to avoid skills and re-position yourself (preferably behind allies or into some water). By yourself, it’s somewhat useless, but can be a decent stall if you have conditions on the enemies.
Most of the time I’ve used it. It’s completely useless. Mobs will follow you even when you’re in mist form, and I’ve seen mobs leave fighting parting members to go after me instead. Then there’s a bunch of mobs attacking the mist, so I die pretty much as soon as it ends.
How about kicking someone boots them into a private instance. If they are booted anywhere near the chest. They can still get it.
Put a timer on the private instance, so AFK people get booted out of that too.

Thats what i said.
Really SUNDRY skins seems to be a borrowed word for a-net (particular by medium). In guild wars 1 you can get some different skins for your character in gw2 definitively not. That´s make me very sad.
That’s not what you siad. I said the available choices were worse in GW1.
how long we will wait for this armor – more?
A long time. It’s not going to happen. You MIGHT get something like it in an expansion.
i don´t want to wait any longer.
Then stop waiting. It’s not going to happen. Also, stop spamming your own thread about it.
More variety is all armors!
I don’t think so. I think you can consider yourself lucky that Jugs of Karma can be transferred between your own characters. Don’t think it’ll ever, nor should it, be transferable to other players.
It’s pretty easy to obtain anyways. Just do events, and complete Dailies and Monthlies.
When your armor is damaged, a little shield icon appears next to your health meter. This same icon should appear on party/squad member’s picture, and some how for those that use the compact party UI.
That way if you’re in a party and one of your members forgot or didn’t notice they had damaged armor, you can give them a friendly reminder.
It’s an idea. People would find a way to abuse it though (both ways). I don’t really understand why people do this kind of thing.
Maybe one of the parameters could depend on how long the person’s been with the group, or maybe you don’t get access to the chest (or get crappier rewards) if you weren’t with the team at the start.
Has anyone come up with the notes for the Encounters of the Third kind? You know that Song the aliens play?
Its not only mesmers, ita all of these pets npc, turrets etc around the game, you loose the target and to recover it is a joke, while your enemy attacks you from safety you cant reach him and attack him because you need to adjust the camera or move to TRY to clik him to get him in target, its stupid, really this is a super advantaje to all the ranged classes and thieves that stealth, they dont loose the target while you dont know where they aren then if you locate them trying to click them in al of the clones/npc/turrets or whatever mess there is, its a super super advantage.
there is no advantage since you have more armor than them. This “mess” you’re talking about is the whole point of the classes you’re talking about.
For the mesmers especially, you’re not SUPPOSED to be able to click on them directly. Doing so invalidates their whole class. The only time I’d support what you’re wanting is when we start seeing Mesmers in heavy armor.
I agree, let’s just have a “ignore Mesmer class mechanic” button.
A mechanic that is abusive, and no matter what many clones you spam, people like me know who is the mesmer its pretty obvious, but the problem is not finding who it is, the problem is targeting when you know who the hell is the mesmer and you cant select it with the mouse because so much clones are in the same place etc, no one should be alowed to shield themselves like that.
I could be wrong, but isn’t that the whole point of the clones? The way I see it is you break an entire class if you can just ignore the illusions.
The targeting system does need a little work though. Even in PVE, it targets Neutrals or enemies that are further away while you’re trying to fight other things.

Downed state should be removed in WvW and sPvP. It is fine in PvE.
No. It’s annoying in PVE too. It’s pointless because it seems to draw agro, so you die before you can even do anything useful unless you happen to rally.
TL:DR Downed state adds more skill and allows you to turn a fight around, I like it personally
I don’t see how it adds more skill to a fight. You were doing bad enough to find yourself in a downstate in the first place.
They could remove downstate and give people a little more health to compensate, and achieve basically the same thing — Give people a few more seconds to fight.
It was pretty much the same in GW2. I played an Elementalist and had a choice of Hydromancer, Pyromancer, Geomancer, and there was a 4th, but forgot the name. You had the same 4 armor choices for most of the game and every few levels you bought the next variant for your class which was exactly the same thing with slightly better stats and a slight change to the armor’s model.
I assumed it was exactly the same in all the expansions that I didn’t play.
So far from what I’ve played of GW2 it’s exactly the same. Only difference is you can find them pretty often as drops.
not gonna happen. it was that way at beta, and there was an annoying as hell dye extraction system. also, rare dyes are too high in market value. making them account bound would lower that value. also those who have multiple characters with sets of the same dyes would not be too thrilled, unless those dyes were returned in mail.
The dyes are all organized in tiers. They could make it so all, but the top 1 or 2 rarest tiers are account bound.
Every time I see the Norn I think “Vikings (possibly with a touch of Native American)”. I’m pretty sure that was on purpose, and it’s done perfectly. They don’t need to be changed at all.
sighs
The devs stated early on that GW2 will be a different game from GW1.
Yes, they promised a lot of things. Whether they lived up to those promises is debatable.
Does it mean the game needs to change it’s name? No
I find the game awesome as it is. The only thing I really miss from GW1 is being able to have two classes (I was an elementalist/mesmer).
