I was one who couldn’t get in because I had a commander tag on. I tried the waiting 20 minutes deal and it actually did work for me. So YMMV, but it does have a non-zero success rate (I thought it was complete bull until I tried it…)

Problem with mesmer:
As we all know most mesmer abuse the macro on their gaming mouse to pull off the chain burst on the target. I’m sitting at 2.4k armor with 17k hp, i got drop like a fly in less than 2 sec. Lots of ppl says that you simply have to dodge their incoming combo, but with their stun + daze, it’s impossible to avoid the incoming combo, not to mention they could stealth-burst as well. I’m hitting like a wet noodle when comparing their dps with us.
Can someone share their wisdom on how to deal with them?

what really needs to be nerf is cele signet necros and mesmer in general. this 2 class is just plain op and they out sustain a d/d ele in everyway. i just dont get why would ppl call for nerf to d/d ele when there are much much more obvious problem to fix? nerfing anything that has to do with cantrip would just take away ele’s sustainability, doing that will just relive the period where u dont see a single ele in any of the spvp or tpvp games. would pretty much be like how warriors are nowadays where 10match u get to see 1 or 2 warriors while in 10 match u see mesmer and necro every single time…
OP’s question should rephrase to : how to beat Mesmer?
with 20k burst in 2 sec, almost perma stealth, ridiculously amount of invul skills and teleport how do you exactly kill them?
Nice vid. If you are only using 1 cele trinket, i’m assuming that u mix in some zerker with soldier armors?
this afternoon while playing half way through, i notice there was quite a bit of bad lag and spikes while pvping and shortly after i was disconnected from the game. After that when I tried to enter back into the game it keeps telling me that the game client is unable to connect to the game server, so i’m wondering is it just me or is the server down?

how can eles be OP when all it takes is 1 rotation from BURNdian and mesmer to bring us down, and i mean literally 1 rotation, instant drop.
just a question, everyone in this thread stated that d/d ele are getting nerf but i have yet to read any news regarding that, so i can only assume that the nerf you guys are mentioning is the nerf to burning?
I’m a fan of Sc/D but no matter what kind of build i run it’s always sub par compared to D/D ele and the burst from Sc is just out right inferior when compared to mesmer’s burst which they can pull it out almost instantly…
I have no idea whether is my build sucks or sc as a weapon is just not possible to be used in high level pvp or even in pvp at all.

Sc / D – Sigil of Air and Energy
Utilities – Lightning Flash / Arcane Bolt / Mist Form / FGS
Traits – Fire(1 -1 – 3) / Air(2 -2 -2) / Water(1 – 3 – 1)

well just as you said, there is not much we can do to evade type thief and rangers, and as for mesmer, lets be honest here, the only effective duration of the whole stance with your propose change is only about 5 seconds? you really wanna spend that precious few sec to tag a mes clone just for the 2 sec buff? i would very much rather not. everyone uses berserker stance is mainly for the reason it provides u the resistance from condi for the whole duration from the start and by removing it, dude u just killed that stance and not to mention, u have to TAG a target for it work. Like what i previously stated, you don’t get to tag a target all the time. you will know it very well when you are fighting FEAR necros without the resistance, you just a walking drum stick for them at least till u tag a random target.
i’m not saying your suggestions are bad, i do personally like the balance stance change but for endure pain, i just dont see it as viable, mainly due to it won’t synergize well with what we have… think about it, you use endure pain to avoid physical dmg, while condi kills you, you use your adrenaline to cleanse the condi while activating endure pain which only blocks 50%? if you have prioritize, cleansing the condi always come first, and if that is the case, the skill will almost certainly not gonna be optimal at all times
@ Uuni, that is the whole point of this traits. Thing is Anet don’t see the way we warrior vets see, thus so many of such threads* are out there.

problem with all your suggestion is that they requires us, warrior to actually hit our enemies for them work.
Quoting from you " “on hit” meaning that you damage an enemy with any direct damage ability, condition damage does not count". in most cases, stances are used by only melee warrs, which when up against mes, theif, rangers (which makes up of most classes that pvp), we often don’t get the luxury of being in melee range most of the time as we all know, they will stealth, run teleport before we are even near. The evades and stealth coming from rangers and theif is so ridiculous,i dont know where to even begin. Thus this explains why shoutbow is meta now, and will still be meta even in the next patch.
@kagamiku, well said! after taking a more in-dept look at warriors’ changes, the conclusion that most of us has come to is that, other than using longbow and be a support, i have no idea what weapon sets/ build i can use in pvp that will not end up as a burden to the team.
I think stances are fine with the way they are. your overhaul suggestions, imho are nothing but nerfs. with anet promoting shouts now more than ever, are you trying to wipe out stance all together?
BTW… your enduring pain is wrong and messed up…
With the upcoming changes on june 23, from what i can see in tactics, the practically stacks all the traits together where now it seems like shoutbow is strong than before. is the meta still gonna be shout bow?
Hammer/GS got nerfed hard since u can no longer f1 burst and switch weapon + burst again, and they stacked 2 of core hammer/gs build together to make it even more less efficient… the end of hammer/gs builds?
I know D/ F and S/F are quite awesome in pvp, but the thing about them is that they lack the speed/mobility to keep up with most of the class. So i was wondering if there are any scepter / dagger build that will be viable in higher levels of pvp or the benefits of focus just heavily out weights the need of having higher mobility.

Dude, you got to specify what your build is for. PvE or PvP? and weapon sets as well, cos this build seems like it only works with a certain set of weapons only.
I can only assume that the above build is meant for PvP, so here’s the question: why would you get armor attack over dogged marched? You are using (or most likely) a zerker amulet, how would armor attack benefit you? since condi are the bane of all warrs it makes more sense to get dogged march…

Hi all, quite sometime ago, I read something about Dev are considering implementing a change to one of out heal skill making it into a shout. Is this true?
Sounds good, I do agree that we should come together and voice our opinion on how warrior should be! However, don’t get your hopes up high, base on past records, even though we summarize everything with sufficient supporting evidence and details, more than likely Anet won’t give a kitten about it.
I know why the warrior community is voicing these opinions. And they are valid opinions. However it’s the way that they are being voiced that is troubling. Also the warrior class has been buffed in these last sixth months. They were simply drowned out by the negative comments concerning the more glaring nerfs. As I said above I am not saying that the nerfs were justified or not. But what I AM saying is that the current method of posting angry rants at ArenaNet or other classes in general won’t help.

reason for many warriors lover to voice their unhappiness in the forum is because of the ridiculous buff to other class and the great nerfs to warrior. lets be honest the past 6 months or a year in which patch note did you see warriors getting buff once? and with the decay on adrenaline, our heals / dmg / crowd control are all affected to the point where we can really say warrior are currently the hardest class to play in the game. To some extremist they will question why Anet create warrior class if their aim is to nerf them since the launch of the game.
Agree… The game right now is just plain ridiculous… After the patch the whole game is just a big disappointment. People have this stereotype of thinking where warrior is easy to play as counting 1,2,3 but with all the nerfs from the past year, Anet has or almost done with taking them out of the current pvp / WvW meta. You guys know what? i haven’t even touch on bugs and glitches! Bull’s charge missing when target is right infront of you, 2 sec delay before activating Earthshaker, after casting earthshaker, 100b deals no dmg even though the target is well within your GS range. Rush allows you to run THROUGH your target and many many more…. to add on Anet’s joke some of the bugs/ glitches has been around for 2 years and Anet couldn’t bother/ have no idea how to fix it.
For the love of god… why give out so much nerf when they cant even fix bugs that were present since launch?? 2 years ago, my bull’s charge / rush went straight through the target, 2 years later my bull’s charge still went through the target, to add some bonus to it, i’m literally standing right in front of him and yet i still miss… (imo) I know there aren’t any perfect game, but if they can’t even fix bugs from 2 years ago, i dont think they should add more content or nerf or buff anything else…

if OP thinks warrior using GS to get away is too much, he obviously haven’t encounter a thief that can stealth blind and stealth infinite to get away, not to mention using short-bow to shadow step to ridiculous places where no one else can reach(why aren’t Anet nerfing this?)…
being a warrior isn’t about face tanking everything… if they can do that and still win fights, I don’t see any point in creating other classes…
bull’s charge and rush is buggy as well, but over the 2 years Anet didn’t give a kitten so.. I don’t think they gonna fix anything and just continue their nerf train…

I’m using a mix set of knight and PTV gears with full celestial trinkets, but still quite unsettled for which runes to use on my set… some say the 25% speed is important for eles as they aren’t that mobile compared to other classes while some says we should keep our might up as long as possible. Can i have some advice please!

Recently I came across AddiktGaming’s video guide for elementalist , where he prioritize healing power over toughness and power and his build is something like this :

I tested it in sPvP / tPvP, sadly the Valkyrie amulet only give us 13k hp, but still with 600+healing power, I manage survive pretty well and perform much better than the standard celestial build…
so I was wondering if this build would work well in the WvW environment. some suggestion and comments would be greatly appreciated!
As title states. wonder if it’s illegal and how do people manage to do jump-dodge so perfectly and succeeds every single time? i tried it out and only succeeded in doing it once every 10 jumps.. Are there any secrets behind it?

Personally i prefer killing my opponent(s) ASAP rather than dragging it into a long fight. I’ll have the lemongrass to cope with the conditions and with the 70 vit boost i’ll be sitting around 22~23k hp which seems to be tanky enough for me.

Well after playing With Axe/Shield + GS, i still find more success with Mace/Shield + GS. In just one combo, the opponent normally is left with about 50% or less hp[unless they go full bunker style]. With forceful GS trait, the whole combo can be pulled off quite often, so even if the opponent has stun breaker skills they wont be able to dodge the 2nd incoming combo. mobility isn’t an issue her as well since the cd are quite short on your GS.
I recently found great success with Mace/Shield+GS, with all the stun and daze skills couple with berzerker’s stance, even mesmer and necro don’t seem impossible to win anymore… So i was wondering if mace/shield + gs is worth investing my time to master it or are there drawbacks which i haven’t realize yet.. need some input please!
not only it has high toughness and attack, it has decent CD as well. Although the crit rate suffer a little, you still get around 50+% chance. in addition, it has a good -condition duration and -stun duration which helps a lot against those pesky hammer users.
any comments?

planning to use this build for roaming and zerging.
has tons of toughness, vit and power, even the CD is pretty decent but down side is it has lower crit rate( 50+% with SoR)

3. Does this build only works if you are able to obtain the Cavalier type trinket?

I’m quite interested in this build but the part about dishing out damage really holds me back from changing my zerk build to this.
