1 question, why break stun with headbutt / berserker mode over a 10 sec break stun skill?? is there even a reason to save outrage when there’s no passive effect in it?
Because it will give you 5k health (2x Rousing Resilience, one from the headbutt and the other from entering berserker state) and put your in Berserker State (where you want to be) to start wrecking house with your opponent sitting in a 4s stun, while still having your short cd stun breaker ready if you need it.

Not sure if it’s just happens to me, i got laughed at when i kind of voice out that reapers are ridiculous be it in terms of condi-management or outright smashing people’s head in with their power builds. Not to mention the humiliation i suffered from druids where they can leisurely talk to me while i’m putting in serious effort trying to down them, just to be rewarded with a few daze and knockback + full hp recovery in less then 5 sec…
To Anet, it makes perfect sense to have ele overloading and force them unable to perform any other actions or switching to other elements for a good 4 to 5sec while having negligible damage/protection/heal at the end. Pretty much sums up everything right?
Yeah, that’s what happens when you build a class around the traditional “wizard” archetype of a low health, low armor magic user, but then give them a weapon set with melee range, give them no effective way to maintain distance due to the large number of gap closers available to everyone, build the PvP game around holding and fighting on very small points, give them no exceptional burst and no additional survivability in terms of skill utility in comparison to what the classes with high hp and armor have.
Typically, games that attempt create a magic user around this type of archetype give them superior damage or superior, but short lived forms of mitigation. It creates a risk vs reward scenario.
But the low hp and toughness of the elementalist really kitten all when it comes to balance as none of the changes to how elementalist work or how other classes work take this into account.
It’s just an arbitrary, unfair penalty against the class for no real compensating value and just something we have to deal with.
If there was any kind of compensation for that low hp and armor ever, it was the celestial amulet, since the jack of all trades skill style of the elementalist meant we could effectively use every stat and get value from it.

At the very least, other classes have no excuse / reason to give when losing to ele now, right?

After testing for 5-8 matches, there’s a fatal flaw for in build. as much as i would like this build to work, it just crumbles in the face of condi. in addition without fast hands, you can’t swap weapon sets fast enough before blowing all your CD and thus unable to rotate your skills properly and with just 1 condi cleanse, you simply dont have the sustain when fighting with necros, condi mes or any other condi class…
As always, lazy way to patch things and “balance” the game. Root problem is still there.. aaaaaaaand there’s no wars again.

Weapon cd reduction is a major update aswell. Yet they didnt mentioned it. That doesnt mean we wont get it.
“Cyclone Axe was previously split between PvP/PvE with it dealing less damage in PvE. We unsplit it now so it deals more damage in PvE. "
How this is a major update? …. Personally I didn’t even know they split the dmg in PvP/PvE…. I mean… it’s already a skill that deals little dmg in PvP… and inflicts 4x vuln… it’s already a meaningless skill. How the kitten that dmg in PvE affects me at all? I don’t do PvE at all and even if I does… I don’t see why anyone would be counting on that skill to deal dmg…
Now imagine the rest…. if this a major thing that needs to be mentioned.LoL… it’s just sad
well, this is anet we are talking about and so… the preview of changes are pretty much what you gonna get in the actual patch. i’m guessing we are still getting some minor changes like tweaking the numbers a little but i guess that’s it…

i just cant see any reason or in any situation that you’ll pick DotE over brawler’s Recovery. you can’t kill any faster and yet, you drop faster to condi than dropping your pants when your nake gf is waiting for you on the bed
Well these are not all the changes. So keeping that in mind, and thinking about how most things except warrior and thief are getting nerfed, I feel like this could give warriors a build that gets into the meta. Lets just hope it wont be cancer like the old ham-bow build was…
indeed, with the removal of tanking amulets, with warrior’s current dps, we “might” be viable again since many of the classes relying on those amulet has lost a significant amount of sustain. This might not be all the changes but like always Anet’s preview contains at least 99% of everything they are implementing. lets hope that last 1% change is base lining fast hand or we are really screwed. AGAIN.

Since when you obtain the winter’s presence u unlock all weight skin for it, so I’m wondering if the effect is still there no matter how many times u transmute the skin over to another shoulder or it’s just that one skin that you receive when u complete the collection will have the snow effect.

some of these changes looks great. but guys, lets face it. Anet is not gonna bother with all these changes. if they did they had to practically rework the whole warrior profession…
i’ll be happy if they could just baseline fast hand and warrior sprint but…

Recently, I notice a big drop in price for the shield skin Ghastly grinning shield, dropping from 4.8k to the current price of 2k, i was wondering is there a reason for such a big drop? i know HoT brings in new skins but why would it affect the limited shield skin so much?

hi all, I’m currently trying to make a condi build for my base necro,(trying to complete map with him to unlock the reaper) i normally use power builds and now i wanted to try something new, to make this journey to 100% map completion fresh.
So my question is, ever since anet nerf condi duration, are condition dmg builds no longer effective in PvE? If it’s still good can i have an example / build to run with?

actually i wouldn’t mind if the dev remake all skills and utilities and make them all into shouts with different utilities than the current ones we had. taunt would be really nice and may be a stomping skill that pulls enemies in towards you?
Fighting from fair ground to handicap hard mode then to hard mode with both hands tied. Other classes are so strong that there is no reason for them to lose to warrior… so warrior difficulty just changed from normal to insane over the course of 3 years?

Warrior is fine.. totally fine.
it is just that other things like druid or dragon hunter is over-buffed and now, every people claim that. Thus they will be nerfed like dd cele ele later. For sure.
If nerf on those class would be conducted later, then everything will be fine.Warrior specs, including berserker, is just all fine : not that great, or not that bad. Actually, with smashing brawler trait with perma stability on berserker trait line, they works great. They can spam primal burst with only 2.5sec cooldown without any interruption from petma stability. People just don’t know how to fully utilize berserker spec since it has been out for only few days but only compare this berserker spec to Rampage warrior that can be god-mode for 15sec and saying that new berserker spec sucks. They shouldn’t be compared though. Who can win rampage warrior without need to run away until that ends?
Anet did good job on balancing warrior. Just nerf some overbuffed stuffs such as Dragon hunter or druid will solve the balance problem.
I believe warriors have been given too little and taken from far too much, over the years since beta. it is a very undeniable truth that other classes are being buffed to the point where it’s really ridiculous. If your standard of “good job on balancing warrior” is to keep taking bits and pieces of warrior out then I can’t agree with you on that. But what i can agree with you on is to keep playing my most beloved class out of all the classes and love it even though they are like an unwanted child and play it like it’s on a hard mode. We may get buff, We may get nerfed even more, but ultimately just play warriors if you enjoy them.
Its not that bad. A 4 second nerf with the trait isn’t that bad. Dragon’s Maw wasn’t a huge deal either. Renewed Focus was still better, so the nerf to Dragon’s Maw doesn’t really matter. The other two nerf weren’t so much nerfs as they were just fixing a mechanic that was broken and not working the way it was meant to. So, i wouldn’t exactly count those as nerfs personally. I will still play DH with these nerfs and still have fun doing it. The class is still a blast and personally, the Procession of Blades nerf kinda feels right to me. It makes setting up double layered traps easier as the difference between cooldowns on Procession and Test of Faith felt a bit too wide to consistently do it. Now it feels much closer together and easier to wait the extra four seconds or even use Procession to force an opponent into triggering your Test of Faith and taking damage from it. This wasn’t really possible before the nerf to Procession unless you held it for a few extra seconds.
as u said, renewed focus is better than maw, so why does maw have to be nerfed? it isn’t really justified at all.
more than dev nerfing DH, i would really love to see how chronomancers and reapers get nerfed. chronomancers has been op before patch, and even more so after patch, reaper dps is just insane…
So none of the QQ’er are looking at the insane amount of DPS/burst a reaper and chronomancers can dishing out? That’s really weird…. so the main section of the community is made up of Mesmer and Necro?
Mesmer has been ridiculously strong months before HoT patch is still OP currently and no one is questioning about that? Seriously?
You can stunbreak and get out of their burst. If you get caught in maw, you can’t stunbreak and get out. It’s not the dps, every class has a strong burst. It’s the cc that makes it so I can’t mitigate unless I run Signet of Stone on my bar. If they made Maw so that when I use Lightning Reflexes I am able to get out of the killzone then I wouldn’t care.
but each person can only ahve so much stunbreak, have u even consider mesmers with the daze/stun combo? have u been perma lock by them before? if u did, maw is no where close to how ridiculous perma-stun lock dps mesmer are… not to mention they have access to invuls and stealth? So how are you gonna argue about this?
Yes both DH and Chrono have way too much CC ATM for their ridiculous damage potential.
to me, ultimately, ppl are QQ-ing is due to the problem where they still are very unfamiliar to the mechanics of the class and they dont know how to dodge… give it some time and if DEV are still not in a nerf crazy mode, i believe DH wouldn’t be nerfed to the ground like warriors…
Edit: not to mention, all traps has a cast time and if DH were to take the maw, they lose their invul skill which is one of the most precious personal defense skill. so i think with such a big trade off this kind of result is really to be expected…

wow, this is just sad T_T, thinking back, we all feel/ died a little on the inside when warriors get hit by the nerf hammers time and time again through the 3 years and now even our elite spec isn’t looking promising. Please Anet, cant you shed some light of hope on us? instead of mesmers or engineers?
Why no Shield instead of WH?
due to the recent shield buff, when traits u can 3 sec block every 20sec and a 16sec CD shield bash.
Edit: warhorn got nerf pretty badly, when anet unnecessarily remove the trait where u convert 1 condition into boon. to me i dont think this change is justified at all… Constant nerfing over the years, really puts warrior 6 ft underground

to counter d/d eles would require u to time your shield bash, always try to bait out their dodges, or wait till ele comes out of water attunement and start your combos however you only have a very small window frame to down them or they are just gona reset and chase u again, chances are if the ele are not greedy and is patient, you are most likely not gona win or might even get killed in the process of taking them down.
sadly i dont see fast hand getting baseline anytime soon or it ever happening…
Reason why many warriors are losing interest and complaining that we are in a bad spot is that, many other class kinda outshine us in many ways which forms this impression that we are in a very bad spot.
Simply take mesmer as an example, they out dps us, provides team speed buff and brings many other benefits to the table whether in the context of pvp or pve, they simply does better than us. i’m not saying warriors are totally irrelevant but just that our banners/shouts/might generating traits doesnt have that much impact anymore, and this is due to the nerfs we have been receiving over the years.
Berserker was suppose to be our salvation but, anet’s definition of “introducing new ways to play” for warrior is to make them into a condi spec class while it’s fun to imitate engineers, necros & mesmers, we simply can’t do better than them in this aspect. So if you like the challenge, and still love ya warrior, keep playing them!

i just hope they make some adjustment to berseker to the point where they don’t pigeon hole warriors into a condi spec which, quite frankly it’s sub-par compared to other classes such as engineers and necros… if it still don’t bring enough to the table for power warriors, it’s really gonna heavily cripple warrior as a whole class… I’m not saying warrior will become redundant but i believe that with the new changes in HOT other classes can bring much more to the table than warrior can… in many ways..
I think the reason behind this is quite simple. Ele core mechanics revolves around attunement swapping and self comboing. Thus Fire/Air/Earth/Water/Arcane traitlines grant many boons/effects/advantages when you rotate and combo through your attunements. Tempest mechanics competes directly with this by forcing you to stay in one attunement, and keeping you from getting back in it. So by using overloads you lose what the entire class has been designed and balanced around. It would have been fine if weapon skills weren’t set up in fire for attack, water for healing, air for cc and earth for defense. Tempest could actually worth it if we had a weapon swap mechanic like others class do (stronger aa, skills with shorter cd, and better efficiency overall without having to rotate/combo, and no more themathically themed weapon set) and cycling through attunements just to linger to their passive effects and overload. This would limit our weapon skills to 10, but we could switch fighting style on the spot.

no matter how well you play, there’s a conflict in the mechanic for both core ele and tempest. if you really need to stay in 1 attunement, might as well just go with fire staff ele, this way you deal much more dps using the old traits than tempest. this is also the reason why so many ppl are raging, nerfing ice bow is just adding more oil to the fire. not saying it doesn’t deserve to be nerf but 50% straight nerf is just simply killing it…

it’s still not working is cos the patch is not even out yet…. though chris said patch is coming out in 10-20min, you should not literally take it at face value… it’s gona take at least an hour before they “really” push it out…
