The focus on tangible objectives rather than score. However the timer still and will annoy me. Pretty anti-climatic.

Maybe they can add an “overtime” mechanic. If it goes past 15 minutes, another 5 minutes is added, and all players are buffed so the NPCs are killed faster.

Yeah, right now I just hope they work on getting rid of the point system and finding something else

I agree, I haven’t ended a game to points yet, but there were matches it got really close and we were going to lose but didn’t because we killed the lord before they did. Had the match gone on ~30 seconds longer they would’ve won.

No, I said our gate. I’m trying to kill the Hero/players attacking our gate and the treb wont do damage when they’re directly in front of the gate

Its been difficult and pointless to hop in the trebuchet, I would fire it in front of our gate, it would explode and no damage would be inflicted.

Played a few matches, won some and lost some. I like that it doesn’t feel like the same pvp as Conquest; I was worried it would. I’ve already made a new build that I wouldn’t use in conquest but fits fairly well in Stronghold.

There’s also a lot going on throughout the map so its not like you may be bunkering and you have nothing to do.

I’m not sure why, but sometimes when I leave a SR I immediately lose stealth. I’m not in combat or near any mobs, the stealth just disappears and I get the debuff for being stealthed recently. Why is this happening?

I enjoy this post, it’s not something I would bring up but since you did it reminded me of the peaceful zones in leveling and exploring. I sure hope Anet sees this post or is already thinking to still include that “home, feel-good” experience in some of the newer areas. And I’m sure the Mordrem won’t be the only enemies we encounter throughout the xpac.

Great POI though! Lots of information and things showed (even if we weren’t supposed to see all of it). Those skills/interplay exceeded my expectations!

My one question from the whole thing is this: since Revenant is going to have condition manipulation (much like Necro from GW1), will there be condition manipulation added to the Necro with the release of HoT?

Necros already have the most OP condition manipulation in the game right now

World Map transition animation

I’m not sure if this is in-game or if has been talked about before, but what I am proposing is to toggle the transition animation when opening the world map.

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, its the animation that takes place when you are on your character and you open the world map, it doesn’t instantly show on your screen but the camera zooms back into an aerial view and then the map appears. When you close the map, the reverse thing happens.

Reasons
1)It’s fairly obvious why I would want this as it slows down the time checking the map especially WvW..

2)The camera angle induces vertigo. Not a serious case of it, but most of the time I want to go from exactly what I am looking at, to the map, back to what I was looking at. I don’t want to have to look at the ground in a sweeping motion over and over.

Effects
1) I think it would be crucial in getting non-seasoned players to look at the full map before making positioning decisions. An example of this is when a player is running in the open world and toward a destination( event, point, etc..) they constantly update their heading based on their offset. In the same realm of PVE, players will be able to check the map easier for events taking place throughout the zone (i.e. silvewastes, temples, wvw)

2)In addition to the personal decisions, it will allow “leaders”(commanders, group leaders) to check the map faster when they want to command people where to go while they are fighting especially in WvW.

3) Less camera angle changing going on. When I am pvping I am constantly changing my camera angle and there is so much pitch and yaw (z and y axis rotation) rotating taking place. I could be looking behind my character, open the map, the camera will rotate around and above my character, I’ll close my map and I won’t be facing where I was before hand.

Conclusion
I understand the choice to make certain constraints such as how far you can zoom out, but I think this animation should be able to be toggled off as it could improve the quality of life for players like myself. I don’t think it would be difficult to implement and it wouldn’t really disappoint any players as they can keep the animation if they enjoy it. Please speak if you feel the same way or have any other suggestions. Or if this is already in game and I’m just blind.

For map voting, is there a “random” or “I don’t really care which map” option, similar to Mario Kart track selection?

If you don’t pick a map, there will just be 9/10 selection that are rolled on.

I’m trying to get my friend back in the game. Unfortunately its been around a year since he’s been on and he doesn’t remember his password. When he tries to reset his password, it asks him for information including the game key and character name. He enters it in correctly and then it gives him an error and tells him to contact support. He submitted a ticket a few days ago and hasn’t heard back.

If I try to reset my password, all I need to do is submit my email and its all done. Why the two systems? And what does that error mean for him?

What really gets me is that every chest piece has to hang low below the waist, I loved the assassin armor in gw1 and that’s more of what I picture my thief in. I’m not saying I would never wear a coat, but I’ve pretty much exhausted my taste for coats after two years of just coats.

I know there are a few non coats, but they still hang below the waist in a weird/feminine sort of way. i.e. Duelist isn’t a coat, but it looks like I’m wearing a skirt.

Why are all leather chest pieces coats?

I don’t see any of my leather wearing characters as a coat wearer. Is it a clipping issue? I don’t see why every single chest piece would be strictly a coat

I’m super frustrated with the way PVE servers work. I understand they made big changes to them by making Megaservers; however the way servers work are still crap.

First off, myself and many others must spam ‘join party + esc’ over and over again to get onto a map with friends. I’ll usually do this up to 20 minutes and if nothing happens I will give up because my fingers start to feel irritated. I’m sure many other people do this longer. I know there are arguments saying, “You can spend your time not spamming join party and go off and do something else” but honestly I get a single chance each day to kill Wurm and Teq and its what I enjoy doing, not the ridiculous spamming of party mechanics.

Second , what drove me to write this post, is that if a disconnection happens whether on your end or ANETS end…You are kittened. I play a somewhat important role doing wurm kills, leading condition teams, and right before the wurm started tonight, after preparing for 25 minutes, the game tells me it lost connection to the server. Well kitten. Not only will there be less coordination for whoever was relying on me to help out, I am now sitting here spamming to get back in and try to help. The 15 seconds it took for me to get back onto my character is less hurt to my guild than me not being able to participate at all… they don’t want some person who has just been spamming to get on the map.

TLDR; Make a queue to get onto a full map. And give disconnects some sort of window of opportunity to log back into the map.

Question on this particular macro legality.

However, if you click 7+8+9 all at once it would be the same thing. And depending on how the macro is set up it might not even be detectable. Then again, using all three utilities at once seems like a bad play

I think it would be neat if you could use the stone and appear in your home district, THEN you could 1) Walk out the front portal to the city or 2) Use the stone to get back to where you were last…. That’s what I would assumed it would do but I guess not. Regardless I would not drop 900 gems on anything like that

Every once in a while my zephyrite skills will just disappear. I wont be switching to kits or and I will have plenty of charges remaining, my hotbar just switches to the weapon set. Is anyone else experiencing this as well? Gets annoying when I am in the middle of a jumping area.

yes please, 95% of the time when I’m bored in Wow I hang outside of Org and duel while (95% of the time I’m bored in gw2 I log off. Just give the option to deny all duels for people who r against it.

All you need is numbers, which is hard to get on alot of servers.

Thank god that there is a guesting feature in this game.

That’s barely a solution and shouldn’t be considered one by ANET. All these zerg events keep requiring people to guest so much that they rarely spend time on their own server making it worse for people trying to play on that server they are guesting from and the server they are guesting to. Even so, guesting onto a larger server will often just throw you into an overflow because everyone else is trying to piggyback this dumb achievement.

Everything in this game is RNG and has been since the start; From the drops on mobs, to the items that ANET decides to bring back and suddenly make important, to the kitten players in the overflow you get. If you care about loot in this game you are going to be upset. Now, I just play for the story and don’t even bother changing the armor on my char anymore. Once I finish the content and get my taste of story I log off until the next patch

LOL The plate shoulders that were big to begin with were increased in size but no love for the halo too small to make any impression.

The ironic part is people are complaining how bulky those things look. Seems like ANET doesn’t know how to scale, big or small.

Agreed. I won’t spend the 10g and 5 days of work to get a potion that doesn’t even work right on my main character. The lack of a red response imo tells me they care very little for stuff like this, most likely because it’s not a gem store item so they aren’t losing any real money….If a Gem Store item even clips on one tiny thing, they insta-fix it and you see red responses, but there has been no indication that devs even know, or care, about this issue.

Since you bring it up that’s a very good point. Most of those things are responded to the day of. Well I pay for gems based on how the game is as a whole, so if they want to half-kitten this then I won’t pay for gems

It’s not the game’s fault you have no time to play. Get some time, or go play a static MMO that doesnt change anything for months.

This is considered A Living Story. Time should not stop for players who where not around nor new players.. We don’t have time machines to go back and relive past events in the real world. We read about it or watch d footage of it. This should be the only way for people to “relive” past events.. Snooze you lose!

Well when I want to spend time in the real world, I turn my computer off and go outside. This is a fantasy game where they clearly have technology to allow them to revisit past events if you want to get into a lore perspective. And they have applied “re live-able” content to a few of their instances already, why not apply it to some of the more important LS content (i.e. tower of nightmares last instance)

TL;DR People should be able to re-experience or progress through the main plot of LS

How? When so much of the content is dependent on 100+ players cooperating at a time? What would have? A solo marionette fight? Solo Lion’s Arch?

Well they could focus on less zergy content… but that’s beside the fact.
As for those events such as the marionette fight and escape lion’s arch they could certainly make it such that you can rewatch the cinematics or enter the solo-instances in a chronological order to follow along. Simple and not out of reach imo
