This picture shows a few things:
-Where is the matchmaking class balance? Anet please admit that guardians are OP and thieves are not doing so well! why did you put 3 guardians on the same team!!!?!?! (Sorry can’t help the fact 2 thieves partied together….bad idea)

-Leagues mean nothing in an mmr sense. I know that its day 2 so people aren’t where they should be, but shouldn’t the matchmaking be accurate? The other team has 3 rank 2’s and we have all rank 1’s, yet we steamrolled them. It’s not like the system even tried to put a rank 2 on our team but idc only because we won. If leagues are just prestige titles you can lose and don’t effect who u are matched/balanced with then the system is no better off than before.

I just killed Sorge the Zealot in HoTW path 3 and I am still 3/4 Sanctuary Savior and it was my last one. It doesn’t have a checkmark after it.

Yeah, I bugged it down in the Ogre lane because I was in combat so I probably have to start it over. Which is a bummer because each time I hit a bug I stop playing for the day either waiting for the bug to be fixed or for a workaround (I’m not going to spend my time finding a way to fix bugs lol)

Anet specifically said that their Mastery system is their form of progression. SO you shouldn’t have an easy time killing him until you have leveled appropriately. This is barely a gate(Play the game for X number of hours and you will be able to do it… wait that sounds like leveling!)

These meta events are supposed to be a part of the end game, challenging content that should take some progression to achieve and you guys want to be able to kill it with no masteries on the first week.

I appreciate the people that ask what they can do about it in this post. In case it wasn’t obvious I’m glad that the requirement is there, I would suggest some way to make it more obvious for players so they can know what must be done to make the boss practical (Sure other players are always available but maybe have an npc tell you why you are dying immediately and how you can prevent it)

I bought the Shackles of Madness (Halloween gloves) because in the preview they looked great, only to find out that the chain is a single rigid body that looks like CRAP doing anything but standing.

Flying looks bad, walking with a hammer looks bad.. any time my hands aren’t at my side.

Anet, please fix this so that it dangles the way a chain would !!!!!

Has this been removed from game? I got to it on the first night and decided not to do story until they removed it and people tell me its been removed and it seems like its still there for me. Some things I’ve tried,

-Rezoning
-Quitting the chapter
-Starting another chapter

I am still told to Train Itzel Posion Lore… has this or hasn’t this been removed is my question. And if so, how do I update my story to follow as such.

You’re doing it wrong. Elite specs have nothing to do with the events, you unlock your elite specialization traits and skills from hero challenges and you only do those once.

Most hero challenges are locked until you learn the masteries which means you have to grind the same events over and over and over again. How about you actually start playing and game not and spout bs on forums?

I’m in the 4th map now, I repeated maybe 2-3 outposts with some friends earlier but other than that I haven’t gone back to any map other than for story.

I’m on the last branch of my elite spec and will probably finish it completely within the next two hours and I still have plenty of map 4 and a few hero challenges that don’t require anything other than flying. Up to this point all my masteries are at 1 except for updraft.

Just because there is a hero challenge that requires something you don’t have, doesn’t mean you have to grind to get it immediately. There are so many events and so much content you shouldn’t be repeating anything you don’t want to in order to level up your elite specialization (if that’s your ultimate goal)

I felt the same thing when I saw this. I was mildly disappointed when I had to do the lvl 1 mastery of each one but when I saw the Rank 4 Itzl I just decided to log off and take a break since it was a buzz kill.

The problem for me was that I was 3/4 of the way leveling each of the other masteries before since there was no indication I should get Itzl up to 4 first

I swear, I’ll play a few hours straight on my various characters and will complete all my daily achievements EXCEPT the defender one.
I’ve tried just sitting on a single point, but whenever someone I’m fighting on the point runs off I don’t get credit and if I chase him and kill him somewhere not on the point I won’t get credit either.

It seems like there’s so much fighting off point or running to die off point I can never get the kill when the point is in our favor, especially when there are so many tanky builds that can dcap quickly. In fact, while I was writing this post, I was on a point… the fight lasted so long that a dcap was inevitable, I killed the sob and didn’t get defender credit.

1) What do I have to do to complete the daily
2) What’s a reasonable way for me to achieve this

Anyone NOT planning on using the new specs??

I always wondered that too, from a tpvp perspective. I played these past few BWE on my engineer just fine, sure I had to learn about the new abilities of the elite specializations but after that I could properly fight them.

The thing about the engineer elite specialization is that it would probably be ran if you want to be a melee character and only then (just from hammer speculation) so if the meta is still ranged engineer, I assume they won’t be on the elite specialization.

The drawback is that the current meta does not include your elite specialization, and if one day it does? You do not have the option to run it. And I just like the flexibility

I made sure to not skip any talking scenes and it let me finish it. It seems that if you skip through the scenes too fast it prevents u from completing, possibly?

Nothing progresses after I reach Apprentice Valda. I tried killing every Son of Svanir and nothing happened. I reset the game and tried again but the story doesn’t progress once I get to her and the bad guy enters the portal. I can repeatedly talk to her but what she says doesn’t change

And what about for those people who do already have it? That’s $50 + $50 = $100 lost.
As opposed to a latecomer only paying $50 for the same products.

But if you are referring to the expansion, and whether or not I have the same benefit as someone who buys the expansion and gets the game free, then I say no I do not get the same benefits, I benefit more. I get all the experiences I’ve had in this game up to this date and they won’t get to experience many of those things.

How so? Living World Season 1 rewards are available to everyone now, and Anet has even said that they want to add Season 1 to the journal at some point. Season 2 is obtainable with gems/gold as well. Other than that, they’re getting the exact same content as you (core game), only they won’t have to pay for it.

I mean, what about me? I bought the game and went on a hiatus after playing for a while, missing out on the entirety of season 1 and coming back as it ended. So by your logic I payed for no special experience, and I also have to buy HoT as well.

Experiences aren’t the same as cosmetic rewards. I barely have any of those season 1 rewards, none of the ones that required any farming.

Even if its added to the journal it won’t be the same experience; the experience of logging in with your friends and exploring the new content with everyone else while its brand new and fresh.

And the fact that you, as someone who owned the game and took a hiatus for your own reason, missed those experiences is unfortunate, but Anet can’t tend to every corner case in the world

I’ve had this game for almost 3 years. If three years ago, you told me I could save $60 dollars and get the core game for free three years later with the purchase of the expansion, I wouldn’t wait, I would buy it all over again. The hours I spend playing this game are worth way more to me than whatever physical currency I spent on it. Priceless.

This wouldn’t be too bad. Small problem though is in motivating players to take part in it. Usually ANet does this via achievements and special rewards (skins, items etc.).

I think it could be similar to the one-time events they’ve held in the past. However, I don’t think they should make it a grind fest like the other major events, more so if you’re in LA and want to help out you get some reward and some achievements but don’t make it such that everyone in LA has to be doing the event or hell breaks loose

I was strolling along through Skrittsburgh, and I see this waterfall that goes into a lake… I get up onto the ledge fairly easily… and then bam, I’m stopped. I’ve never hit anything like it, both sides of the ‘wall’ are playable areas, the fall is into water, I don’t understand why Anet would put a wall there. please check it for yourself

Anti, I was on the losing team -_-. I have no problem with profession based dailies, its just that I wish they would randomize it such that not everyone is playing the same class on the same day… easy quick fix I don’t know why they can’t do that

Theres a difference between “Have Placed a mine” and “Started placing a mine” but not in Anets eyes. This happened twice where I’m going through the mission, and click F to grab my turret and my engineer starts to ‘place a mine’ instead because they’re in the vicinity. I immediately stop him, but I lose the buff for doing the achievement. The mine was not placed, even after this I can still place a mine in that corpse because it was interrupted. So case and point, the mine was not placed as the achievement specifies, but I still lost credit for it. Fix the way events like this are handled in the game engine.

They need to do something about switching teams in hot joins. Its insane…the first 30 seconds of a match often determine the out come and its usually because the start of the match is unbalanced and then whenever it comes into balance someone joins the winning team. Doesn’t Anet see whats wrong with this?

As of the recent complaints from the guardian community, I noticed that there are some highly disliked “skill types”. I realized that there are some skill types that I absolutely never play with because they just aren’t entertaining or don’t provide much utility(mostly the former).

For this post I would like you guys to comment saying what you favorite and least favorite skill types are. Think about what you would like to see or not see in your class’s new specialization. Especially since we are starting to see some unique skill types shared with other specializations (Mesmer gaining well)

Why limit ourselves to dragons?

I would like for Anet to generalize the Dragonhunter specialization into just a Hunter specialization. Why would someone want to be good at JUST dragon things. There are many things dragons are bad at. (They die at the end of pretty much every movie ever made) Let me channel whatever animal/humanoid/thing that I want.

For instance, I would like to channel the Quaggan in order to fish and fit in small places.

Or possibly channel the Rock to become immune to everything but paper. One ability could allow us to blend in with the other rocks so we are camouflaged.

I don’t know, let me know what you guys think…maybe we can expand upon this idea.

This is a problem. I think the easiest way might be to prevent people from joining the winning team even if the numbers are in their favor. This will at least get some games to even out a little.

Right now:
1. Initial fight happens.
2. People on the losing side leave.
3. Autobalance kicks in.
4. “Spectators” join the winning side right away.

Yeah, I kind of like the idea of removing or severely reducing incentive to team swap and what not. However, I think this would just reduce the number of ppl in pvp and that is not something Anet or the players would want.

I think they need to do something about joining teams when they are imbalanced or starting a match when its 2 vs 1…

Some ideas:

-Start a match when the numbers are even and don’t let someone join one team unless someone else is also queuing to join the other team.

-If a team has a severe advantage(100 pts or whatever), don’t let anyone join that team first…for instance, lets say the score is 300-200 and both teams have 3 people, someone can join the losing team, but not the winning team such that it would be 4 vs 3.

These aren’t finalized and can be tweaked but I think some thought needs to go into it from Anet

I used to be able to jump into practice arena and there’d be a somewhat decent match going on, with your occasional faceroll. Now, I have been looking around all day to join a match where from the start the teams are balanced or the game isn’t 300-0. I understand that practice arena isn’t the place to go for balance, but I swear its gotten worse to the point no game is enjoyable. We are either destroying the other team or the team I’m on is getting destroyed to the point everyone leaves. I like to play practice because I can easily switch my build around when I’m testing and because its instant, two things I can’t get out of queues. Let me know if you guys are experiencing the same and have any suggestions

They could also randomize the professions for everyone to avoid class stacking. I like the idea of the daily but the current implementation isn’t the best possible, that’s for sure.

They aren’t applying a combo field right now as I test in game. And to be honest, they should. Their description says “a random spell” at the location, and on the wiki, the random spells are Wall of Reflection and Smoke Screen, that of which provide combo fields.

edit: I get leap effects but not projectile ones

Is the wall field from Toss Elixir U supposed to apply to projectiles? I put down both the wall of reflection and smoke field (from Toss Elixir) and shot through it and no conditions or buffs applied.
