I think the reason it may be karma or a new currency is the delay in adding it to the game and even pve fotm people had to start from scratch towards their new ascended gear when that was released.

Increasing the ini cost of CnD will pretty much kill all versatility with the class. Already you can only use 2 CnD per full ini bar unless you have spent your traits on it

But if you look your traits to increase this are in lines that do not pertain to burst damage /holywtfbbqsauceinthaface!!!

Its the reason p/d cond builds are FAR superior to BS builds

I think most people who cry about the distance thieves can put on them are not so mad that thieves are Op but mad they did not get a kill. Any thief who is putting tons of distance between you and them without stealth A: isn’t doing damage to you B: they are using all of their initiative to do it C: Every class has a way to stop this or at least minimize it.

I just wanted to say I greatly enjoyed working against the oceanic coverage DB had really hard to keep up with sometimes, I know Ebay is coming back up to tier 4 which is sad. Do not worry DB we will knock them back down to tier 5 in hopes of seeing you guys again. See you in a week or so!! Colhearth you are silly.

People who constantly complain about thieves when it is 100% known that their main issue is culling and the crying party is running a glass cannon and or pve build are just trolls or bad players. I hope this helps . lol

I have looted 3 exotics and at least 20 rares in the last month from wvw player drops alone, this does not include the few dozen yellows I have gotten from flipping supply/towers/keeps. I am not sure why everyone seems to be having issues. I would be for a slightly increased badge drop rate, though even this does not seem to be too low. Kill more, guys?

Score Update … and now I am on for the night.

Until I did the crafting to hit the upper 60’s and 70 I mostly played in guild groups and following a commander or two I personally think do not suck and it was fine, but if you roam much on your under leveled toon then yes you will get crushed fairly often. I also found that low lvl wvw was easier on guardian than my thief even with stealth… You should be ok mr bend .

I did 2-37 in wvw in 1 week, 37-67 in 2 hours doing artificing/cooking/jewelcrafting and now my guardian is 73 or 74 after 8 hours of wvw gameplay.

Thieves aren’t trolls, no more then bunker Guardians, D/D Elementalists or anyone else are. Just because you find something frustrating doesn’t mean that the folks on the other side of the screen are out to cause you frustration and grief. They are playing a class, the same as you and believe me, most of them aren’t doing it just to ‘troll’ you.
Moreover, you should be happy that ANET isn’t listening to the weepy players, it isn’t just thieves that get the criers. Do you think that there is some special love of Thieves that they don’t get nerfed like people want. Those that will refuse to alter their playstyle even one iota because they fully believe they should be the best and that everyone else can get screwed. I’m happy for it, I’d hate to see any of my characters become less then viable because a small group of people can’t deal.

My guardian drops AOE 6k bombs every 4 seconds in addition to my AOE autoattack.

Thats 30kdmg on one hit to a group of 5.

But that’s not burst…. a 4 second lag time gives your opponent time to respond. listen I don’t think the solution is nerfing every aspect of the thief, it still needs to be viable to play, but something should give, either:

1. make toughness give better damage reduction/critical protection so it makes it reasonable to survive burst if geared properly, or

2. Increase the re-stealth timer so thieves need to think more carefully when they engaged/don’t have multiple get out of jail free abilities or

3. Remove the jump-to ability from HS (or put it on a 4-6 second cooldown)so it becomes reasonable to kite thieves.

Any of those relatively minor changes would go a long way on balancing things out.

Dodge is your friend, blind is your friend, snare is your friend… learning your class “skipping the last word for now”

All I see in this thread is whining and people saying you can’t knock/pull thieves out of stealth which is a lie. Anyone who is having problems with thief in it’s current state, and those who will continue to have problems with thief after culling is fixed.. l2p, change your setup ,get over yourself.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with either of these “issues”.

Maguuma didn’t float it’s way down to the crap-tier WvW bracket by goofing around and whatnot. It took a lot of hard work from the elite command elements of Maguuma to ensure that we fight at least 1 dead server every match.

I’m not going to sit around while trolls like you say trolly things like ’we’re just having a good time’ to disguise the fact that you’re insubordinates. My guild, [ACM], a family friendly PvE/PvX/WvW guild, deserves better than to be forced into the sPvP channel because you goofballs are goofballing around.

Word to the wise: my guild members spent 100g to buy me your respect. If you can’t appreciate the gravity of the situation then by all means be prepared to be bitterly talked about from a different mumble channel.

Is there any estimated or desired conclusion of the culling fixes? Or any designated time frame for when the majority of players will notice significant improvements? I only ask because I’m tired of hearing about it in game while I play.

If you’re like me and refusing to grind for a legendary weapon or ascended jewelry I’d like to hear about it.

I have one level 80 and I carefully plotted which type of armor I wanted, got my full exotic set and several exotic weapons (all the ones I use). I’m happy with those stats, and I see significant but not motivating stat increases on the ascended jewelry.

So I’m not doing any PvE except to fuel my WvW, which amounts to about a gold a day of farming various rares and selling them on the TC. The rest of my time is spent in WvW.

I once purchased gems with gold, and I don’t plan on doing that any more. I don’t plan on purchasing gems with real money either. I refuse to grind in a game that said there wouldn’t be grinding. I refuse to enter the treadmill in a game that said there would be no treadmill.

If/when I start having a disadvantage in WvW because someone else was grinding out a legendary or ascended gear in a PVE environment, then I will be searching for an’other’ game.

I am with you.. I have my exotics on thief and working up my guardian for exotics now, I only spend time in wvw but I still make more than I spend $ wise so I have no reason to go elsewhere. My gf has stopped making cash purchases of gems and I have well I never have I’m a slacker but I see nothing on the gem store that is really worth money anyway. I have whined or kittened my guildmates heads off about the no vertical progression turning out to be a big lie… I am not playing gw2 for pve.

Well if titan war says it I guess it must be true… but cd? Superior tactics? I wasn’t there but in 3 weeks against your server now I have never seen anyone on your server employ tactics. I have my doubts that you even know what the word means.

In this thread Mesmers say it is all thieves exploiting culling and thieves say it is all mesmers… continue. I hate culling.

As you know naracion I just usually point out the player and their guild and it usually works by bad publicity . I also know there are types who sabotage and just wont listen because they are more important than the rest of the server… I really wish I had been there when this happened.

Please please please shorten WvW matches to five or six days. I spent about 9 hours in WvW today, everyday about 6-8 hours, I enjoy it but it also feels like a responsiblity, to A LOT of us. Please let us have atleast one day off of WvW.

I do think that it would not seem like such a responsibility if they combined the servers, apparently the NA and EU servers all have a sister server.. merge all of those and just have servers, coverage would pick up and wvw attendance would increase taking some of the pressure off of players on the servers without 24/7 coverage.

Seems to me CD is just scared of moving up to t3 again. So they slack off after a week of pvdoor and zerging as to not move up any further in the ratings.

Honestly, if you’re not killing more people in WvW than being killed, you’re doing something wrong. I’m pretty bad and die a lot and even I have a 5 to 1 kill to death ratio (which is really bad). Even with those deaths, I always come out with more coin in my pocket than I went in with after repairs.

This is all that needed to be said, I am not some super boss or anything but I do kill my fair share.. and even the times when I die before I get tons of kills I always come out of my wvw time with profit.

From my month of experience on Maguuma it seems very wvw focused and still has enough players to do other things. Competitive but still out to have fun and enjoy the game. My guild has really enjoyed it so far and could not imagine being anywhere else now.

Getting a lot of lag in WvWvW as well compared to other zones, particularly in EB. Skills that trigger 5-10 seconds later, taking a long time before I can exit a keep door, etc.

This is how it has been for me lately, mostly during the nighttime “EST” but yeh making me play other games which isn’t really what I want to be doing.

I have been having a good deal of wvw lag although sporadically since saturday or sunday. Hopefully they will address whatever the issue is soon. Until then, I am killing zombies .

Every time I roll into these two maps EBAY and CoolDown It is like I’m doing a badge dance and they begin falling from the sky… thank the gods.
I do enjoy the forums with these two servers as well though, if I could kill people as easily here as I do them in game I would probably stay here more.

I always run in 2-10 man squads, we never seem to have an issue with zergs “unless we want one” and we do a very good job and denying supply , flipping camps and killing any group at or less than 3x our size . I think more people should look into not relying on numbers and spread out your servers effectiveness .

@OP: Blame the culling bug that thieves exploit like crazy. (Also blame the basic concept of stealth spike damage classes in general. They’re always lame and need to go extinct in game design).

lol actually, I do not use that.. and it is fairly annoying when a thief delays my camp switch by all of 45s “if he does his perma stealth well” but seriously I have no problems killing thieves when they stealth.. it is called aoe and tripwires look into it.

No, I ran condition a while and I have a good tanky condition build and gear waiting for the #1001 bi-weekly thief nerf but I’m running a mix build atm with all berserker and a few valkyrie pieces . 20/30/20/0/0 yay … I am about being annoyingly evasive while still putting people on their kitten at the moment.
Oh and btw I <3 the kitten replacement word lol makes me laugh.

To the darkhaven thief I just fought for 3-5 minutes next to your two buddies corpses just next to the bridge at SE supply on your home borderland, good fight that was a lot of fun.. first time in a while I have ran into a competent thief that could keep up the fight for longer than 30s thief v thief. Unfortunately we did not get to finish, maybe next time!

I want to say that the Crystal Desert guild Npc.. seems all your players are pro at logging once down… I am glad you have something down.
CD map is always the best for solo or 2 man running so many badges!!

Yeah there really needs to be some variety in them there borderlands. A random rotating central map would be pretty sweet as well. TBH all of the maps, if there was say 3 or 4 of them, on a random rotation with the match up switch ups….sah-weet! imo.

Urban would be cool. Man a rata run type would be nuts.

One thing there needs to be an end to though IMO is the what I would call wasted space a la borderlands. Too many open spaces that really nobody goes to unless you’re traveling or (for whatever reason) pve’ing.

I think we need more space and more objectives to bust up the zerg mentality/control. I think this is also unrealistic hoping since anet does not consider wvwvw pvp.
