The fact that I don’t like the game, means I don’t play it anymore. That’s all that matters.

If you don’t like it and are not playing it anymore what are you still doing here?

I am discussing the game. I do not have to play it to discuss it. I have played it for 500 hours but I generally like forum discussions. It’s a different form of entertainment and who knows….maybe in the future I might give it another go. Stranger things have happened.

As far as the credibility of the source, this is the issue. Which sales have been measured? Does it include digital sales the companies make themselves via the official store? Does it include cash shop sales? A single link like this doesn’t prove the point, but that’s fine. I do not know if this game is doing well or not. I just know I am not playing it but do hope things might turn out for the better. One never knows…

You just come off as a very sad person when you troll a game forum that you dont even play anymore.

Have fun with your ‘entertainment’ though. I know if I was that bored with my life, I’d be looking for another job or another hobby or something. Again, I just feel sad for you

Stealthers in every MMO I played were the most played class.

Vanilla Wow, SWTOR Assassins, AoC ect..

Hell, even GW2 30% of the player I see in WvW are thief.

and these stats are sooooo accurate right? you even admit your stats for GW2 is biased. go in another forum and spout your false facts

The Mesmer’s stealth on the the other hand is done correctly

and this is why there is so much QQ about stealthers in MMOs. everyone things their class is balanced(or even under powered) and all other classes are over powered.

combine this with the fact that stealthers are usually the least played class, and that makes everyone have some hate for thieves/rogues/etc

Culling is the thing I’m already talking about…

Then that’s it. Has nothing to do with thieves and will get fixed when they get the tech to work correctly.

I love hearing about how thieves need to be nerfed and changed when there is really nothing wrong with them. I main a Necro, and I come across 1v1 scenarios with thieves from time to time. There are three types of scenarios that I typically see play out.
1. I get hit off guard by a glass cannon, and I’m down and dead in a matter of seconds.
2 and 3. I see the thief before the attack initiation and I am prepared for combat. The thief either ends up downed or running away with little to no health remaining, whether perma-stealth built or not.

The classes are well balanced and don’t need changes. The culling is an issue that needs to be addressed, but that will help everyone out. Learning to play your class better and or staying in a group will help you counter glass cannons any day as they sacrifice HP for DPS.

It seems like you didn’t get the problem with thief. Just read all thread again pls…

it seems like you dont get why only a select few cough casuals cough have a problem with thieves. these same rogue QQ threads pop up in every MMO and it’s sad players refuse to learn how to counter a stealther.

One problem I have with the op is that it rolls several builds into one complaint. Spike dps, condition, and perma-stealth aren’t all characteristics of one build

I see this exact thing in lots of pvp threads in various MMOs. The ‘casuals’ just can’t distinguish between the different builds and they lump them all together into one massive uber build

over a solid month and have 3 lvl 80’s in exotics and the game has really became stale now

I love gamers like this. They’re so oblivious that they can’t even tell they’re just getting burnt out on the game in general.

Sure, people have left. Lots of people dont like vertical progression and they thought this game wasn’t going to be that way. Has nothing to do with the game being ‘broken’ or ‘full of bugs’ like you say. It’s just a game that they dont want to play.

Sounds like you dont want to play it either. We appreciate the ‘good bye’ thread. So many considerate MMO gamers love to create threads about them leaving.

Like they’re so important to us that we’ll just cry ourselves to sleep tonight because they left the game

how is this an issue in MMOs(ive seen this issue with laggy open world pvp before), but not in an FPS?

Is the issue 100% the gear/armor? Seems like with projectiles and collision detection, an FPS should have a harder time than the standard MMO.

So where is all the people?

From a programming standpoint, you have to make it the amount of registered users on the server.

You’re not answering the question. Still.

Why do the servers go down from full to high every morning.

There is a simple answer to this, they are probably counting registered users on the server that have login recently (definition of recently only Arenanet knows), any account that have not login recently are probably archived. And then they count all accounts that are not archived. The archival processes are usually fairly heavy on their databases so it’s probably done only daily at a time when there are less people using the servers like early morning.

Hence this results in early mornings there are always slots open in servers after the old accounts are archived.

Server population is not players online at that time, it’s players registered to that server.

Yes, it’s full of accounts of people who aren’t playing.

my friend just got the game and sat refreshing the server list for 15 minutes until SoS went from full to very heavy so he could roll on the server I’m on.

so it changes based on how many people are on at the moment. i doubt he was able to get on the server because people were moving OFF the server. . .and i doubt it was from people getting banned from the game entirely

I played in BWE1 and felt like I was clawing and scrounging for xp wherever I could find it. Now I seem to be over level on most of the stuff I’m doing. This could be from the Vistas that weren’t in BWE1, or just an overall increase in XP.

But, I have not seen an xp Nerf. However I dont do just PoI for xp. . .they could have nerfed PoI xp

I gave up magic find and love it!

The new update won’t be doing anything about night capping. The devs said themself they find every player’s time as valuable as another.

Breakout events will be a lil fix for that i hope.

Every day this week in WvW, I have heard multiple complaints from people about how annoying these unkillable thief builds are. It is a problem.

you must be new to MMOs. people ALWAYS complain about stealth classes. no matter if they’re top tier DPS or at the bottom of the barrel

learn to separate the legitimate complains from the crying QQ

A single fix that would help balance stealth.

It’s just the plight of stealth classes in MMOs. Even if thieves were the weakest class in the game, someone would be able to kill an up-leveled noobie in WvW who would make a forum post about how unfair stealth is.

- 1) ANY profession, immune to stopping a stomp (finishing off a downed player) should have that changed – especially stealth while stomping.

- 2) Stealth should have a diminishing cooldown after used once.

- 3) Culling should be properly fixed in relation to the thief class

1) This is pretty funny. Every class has a way to stomp without interruption, save from stomping a Thief (although teleports work), Elementalist, or Mesmer.

Let’s just go through the list, shall we?

Elementalist: Can stomp in Mist Form or with Stability, completely invulnerable in Mist Form
Guardian: Can stomp with Stability, immune to CC, still takes damage
Mesmer: Can stomp with both Distortion and stealth, completely invulnerable with Distortion, can still be interrupted while in stealth
Thief: Can stomp in stealth
Ranger: Can stomp with Stability, although I wouldn’t recommend it, as it requires an elite
Warrior: Can stomp with Stability or Invulnerability
Necromancer: Can stomp with Stability
Engineer: Can get Stability or Stealth from Toss Elixir S, unsure if they can stomp with Elixir S itself

So, in actuality, stealth is the weakest form of stomping. Invulnerability is obviously the best, with Stability in second. Immune to CC is better than just not being visible. Nerf all classes, buff all downed states. Downed states aren’t OP enough yet.

2) It already does. Revealed keeps thieves from going back into stealth for three seconds.

3) Completely irrelevant to the thief class. This is the game as a whole. All classes that can stealth or all abilities that teleport you quickly can abuse the culling glitch. Stealth is not a thief-only mechanic.

Why not? Did you design the professions? Did you balance the professions?

Do you really think the Devs were dumb enough that they gave the thief more mobility than they had originally planned?

This game has been in development for years, I’m sure they’ve designed the thief quite a few different ways before settling on this version.

It seems like the devs WANT thieves to have ways to escape. And if you can’t snare, root, stun them. . .then you deserve to watch them fly across the map

When did 5k become a lot of damage? I guess if you have 1700 armor (or was it defense? or maybe toughness?) then that would seem like a lot.

It’s a lot of damage when it can be applied every 0.8 seconds and there is no way to kite. Damage is fine if there were realistic escape options.

^^^ Agreed.We will get lots of flaming for this but that’s a fact.

It’s not the class which is op.It’s the player can’t handle fightning it.Sorry but if you don’t have either a defensive utility to evade burst damage or a CC utility/skill to catch a running Thief , it’s your fault.
