I think I get what you are saying but those two things have me baffled, and if they are just typos I can’t figure out what you meant?

So what I can draw from this page is: Unless you play the same way that <Insert Player X’s Name Here> you are doing it wrong.

Some of the posts on this thread are so cute I could put them in my pocket.

On a more serious note: pvp games that had/have more static opponents tend to have more variety.

Seems like some of us played DAOC. I played a Mid Healer on the MLF server. We were up against the same people week after week, month after month, year after year. So yeah, it no longer became a matter of “whatever it takes to win” it became “whatever is the most fun”. The issue I see with GW2 is that because of the donkey and the carrot aspect of ranking and tiers, people will do “whatever it takes to win” even if it isn’t what they would have the most fun doing.

While I still enjoy this game, I hope that with time the “win the match” attitude takes a backseat to “hey, what can we do that will be fun”. Seen burnout taking its toll on this server and a few others. Hitting reset every Friday week after week is taking its toll.

I would try raising your Attack power a bit. you have 61% natural crit without consumable buffs or sigil stacks. So with food and sigils you would be ~81% (off the cuff calculation). 81% crit is awesome and all, but you could probably give up some of that to boost your Attack into the 3k range.

What do other necros think about crit% I roll with 61% crit chance and +57 to crit damage, and 3,243 attack power. Obviously I would like to see all those numbers go up, but at what cost?

There are no diminishing returns.

I worded that poorly then. Basically: if you have 100% crit but horribad power and +crit damage you wouldn’t be doing yourself any favors. You would be better off Dropping the crit % and picking up more attack power and +Crit damage.

My question is where do folks feel the line is for crit%? As in “get at least this much, but anything after that is just gravy, and you should probably focus on attack power and +crit damage”

Adding to that, context and tone gets lost on forums. Often what isn’t intended to be inflamatory gets blown out of proportion

I have never had any issues in any situation, be it 1v2, 1v3, Group vs Group, Zerg vs Zerg.

But then again, I’m a Thief, so maybe other professions havn’t found out how to effectively kill the other players yet? I’ll give some friendly advice, instead of wasting itme to stomp someone, just burn them down. While in the downed state, they take more damage than they would if they were up, and if anyone is trying to rez them, they become free kills to you as well.

nice vid, yeah the 5 sec CD on DS vs the 3 sec stability is seriously a case of wanting to have your cake and eat it to. Both are so valuable. I have been using the stability, but am gonna give 5 sec DS CD another try.

I am on BP, perhaps we shall bump into each othe before thursday. Enjoy the next tier you guys have been amazing (don’t you dare quote me on the WvW forums, I will deny ever saying that )

edit Just took on a hammer guardian and a warrior… 5 sec DS cooldown was awesome for the fears, but as soon as I went DS it was knockdown everytime, gotta dodge, get more range or figure out some magic way to get stability :P

Really well played, but I’d get so frustrated trying to solo without being able to stomp. You kept downing people left and right, but no stability.

Can’t watch vid on my iPhone, but most solo power/ crit. Necros trait for 3 seconds of stability when we go into death shroud so that we can shadow stomp. Looking forward to watch this vid when I get home

Great Vid, I am enjoying it. I am so attached to spectral walk, but the mobility of Signet of Locust is tempting. Saw some new tricks for me to tinker with. By chance where you out in EB last night 12am – 1am running solo? if so we might have spared a few times.

First time there was 6 or 7 of us, some underleveled (some BP pugs wandered in somewhere in the fight. Second time it was 5v5 with only one underleveled. No question about who got the better of who. but do you really need to double or triple the numbers?

Take a step back and think a little bit before you post. You guys run a solid, well built 5 man Gank squad. Nobody is questioning that, don’t demean yourselves by inflating numbers.

I think we can all agree that axe #1 is bad, whether it be boost range a bit, or speed up attack it needs some love.

I fired up my old Ele from early release, bought some daggers and began tinkering with it (know thy enemy and all). A D/D ele is like a power necro on Crack and PCP.

If you want FOTM D/D ele is where it is at.

Allow players to use the existing mechanic for target marking when they are ungrouped.

From pve to pvp, there are many situations when the ability to mark a target would be helpful when ungrouped.

some fun 1v1s with some DR this afternoon. Mag, I know you folks are tearing your hair out looking for fights, but if you see people in an evenly matched 1v1, do you really need to roll it ASAP every time?

Yes yes, this is wvw, yes yes l2p and all that. But in a blowout, facestomping solos with numbers every time is fun for nobody.

hmm just logged on to try it. it was a zerg battle but I was able to go through the full shroudstomp animation and the person did get capped, but there was like 5 capping him. will try again

Asura necro: so stuck with the terribad light armor helmets. The only helmet I can find that I like is the Order of whispers one. However, not knowing it would actually matter I chose Vigil when I rolled my toon.

Anyone know if there is any other light armor helmet with the same look/skin as the order of whispers?

I have checked everything I can find and it looks like a no go, but thought I would ask here before giving up.

hmm kk, will tinker with well of corruption or Corrupt Boon and see how that works. Will keep that fear for when they go water handy

In WvW, dagger/dagger bunker Elems are the new FOTM, and they are a tough nut to crack. In talking to some guildies who run that build they stress that the way to defeat that build is through confusion, vulnerability and bleeds.

Any of you folks have some input/experience on how to deal with this build?

No offense, but you do realize we have our own server forums? Not arguing about the content of your post, but it might be better to keep it in house instead of on a public forum.

Don’t know if we have fought, but these past two nights I have had some amazing 1v1s with DB folks (I am an assuri necro from BP with the flaming shoulders).

I have typed and retyped this post a few times… basically what I am trying to say is: win or lose, I am honored by everyone of you who is willing to take the time to 1v1 me. I win some, I lose some.

Special shout out to the Dagger/? Elem from the guild NNM/NIN?/NLN?/NND? (not sure of the guild name)who after defeating me, kited away the moose I had aggroed, killed it, then let me self rez, then followed with /bow and /salute. True class.

Also a shoutout to a Guard in AOD? we had a great great fight that lasted nearly 5 min until the zerg from my server happened to come by and steamroll you. My apologies, that was totally out of my control.

There have been a bunch of other great fights as well. As this game ages I really hope the small scale 1v1, 3v3, 5v5 type of stuff starts to flourish. For that is IMO really where the fun is.

changing gears I really really wish Anet gave us subforums for each match up that they then archived or wiped at each reset. I really wish we could have a That was a Great 1v1 thread. That way folks like me wouldn’t have to hijack threads like this.

Anyways… all Drama and smack talk aside (and that most definately includes me). Happy New Years

mixed feelings. I appreciate the effort that went into it. But as others have said some classes really outshine others in it. If I am fighting a Ranger or Mezmer and they go into the water I just wait by the shore to see if they will come out as there is no point in fighting them down there.

I would like to say on half of DB, we are sorry for any of the people who come on here to act superior to any server we face. Especially new transfers who are just throwing mud at people they just abandon. As a whole we are a respectful server and help anyone that asks questions in /t chat. I for one love the opportunity to teach players how WvW works.

Thank you, seriously I mean that. Being corpse jumped by a guild who was fighting on your side not two days ago is some serious C grade game sportsmanship. It is nice to see that there are some classy players on DB.
