I have to say, AR is a lot better at defending and taking back their borderlands than DH.

funny u said that before we decided to golem rush.

good job DH on giving us your whole BL to 6 golems, even better job at letting us hold onto and siege hills up so that anything u tried would be denied (guess we know how to defend hint hint). You guys that logged after we took your garri, then denied u in hill’s lords room to a failed ninja with half your numbers (sneak attack?), it was because of u rage quitters that we were able cap bay and the rest of the map. By the way, when u open up a keep YOU CLEAR SIEGE, u left 20 AC’s probably 8 cats, 2 trebs, an alpha, and a bunch of ballistas, even if u wipe on the inner gate or lords room, its entirely worth it for clearing the siege becaause then you can just ram the doors down with double our numbers, but since u let us wipe u and have all of our siege (u didnt even kill the 2 cats behind the outer door u walked in on!) we were able to hold it all night.

These are the reasons y zara said AR is better at defending and retaking but your new to the BP midnight golem rush with 50 people, then the 15 all nighters that hold off 40 of your guys and make u all rage quit, then cap the rest of the map with 10-15 people and gain 5000 points. Your improving, but u got lots to learn in t6!

This is not aimed at any one server. I’ve ran in the zerg before, I’ve done the small group roaming, I’ve done the solo roaming. But seriously, all I can think of when I see this scene is a zerg forming up at spawn and leaving to try and cap a tower/keep.

You are fooling yourself if you don’t think Ar has some great players. We have been fighting Ar for a month plus, and there are some rock solid folks on Ar

I guess the backstory I should have added for clarity was: we knew Ar would be coming, we knew more Bp would show up, to defend tower, we knew we were right by the zone map in for Bp, and we knew the longer we could keep you guys engaged there " things would not go well for you"

And that right there is probably a basic difference in our outlooks right there. I don’t want to put words in your mouth but your take might be:

" Goat cheesed out and got help from the Bp spawn point, and being backdoored by AR didn’t help"

Where we see it as: “we kept a group we could not take on our up leveled toons, engaged until they got sandwiched, then some went into tower to keep Ar engaged, while most of us quickly logged onto 80s to help the other Bp folks backdoor the Ar at Lake tower, keeping the tower under Bp control”

At the end of the day it is two takes on the same set of events, both equally valid.

You might not believe me but I am serious when I say: I wish you guys all the best.

Perhaps if we ever focus on building a 5 man premade we can bring you guys the fights you are looking for. Probably not though for whoever is online and wants to wvw is who we roll with. Whether it be 15+ during prime time or 3 at 1 am pst

Please to be re-reading what I wrote and thinking about it. I understand points don’t matter to you, but if you are playing in a wvw zone it might be worth taking a look at the map and thinking about how things might play out.

I am on an iPhone otherwise I would fire up mspaint and make a nice illustration to make my point (picture, a thousand words and all that). So I will just kindly suggest you ponder what might happen if:

1) AR map all blue except lake and lowlands which are owned by Bp

2) a NSP 5 man engages a Bp xp group for an extended fight that starts in lowlands goes to the tunnel/canyon by Lake

3). AR has a vested interest in turning the green tower and camp back to blue

4) Bp as a whole has a vested interest in stopping Ar from taking back Lake and lowlands

What is the scenario that the NSP group might find themselves in?

You guys play a mean game of checkers. Seriously, credit where credit is due, you guys are great at Checkers.

But you are poor Chess players

The situation you guys are facing is that the majority of people in wvw are playing Chess while a smaller percentage is focusing on Checkers. It is possible to wear more than one hat, and if the good small group players on NSP realize that it is possible to play checkers as well as chess only good can come of it.

If you truly only want to play checkers, then that is your business. There are however, other games out there that focus more on Checkers.

We go where the PvP is, doesn’t matter how many enemies there are. As you were saying because of the map colors, it was obvious that the tunnel/canyon was the only place where PvP was happening on the map. We are usually pretty good about pulling out before dying, but there are of course situations where we stick around too long. At the end of the day, if we get a good amount of kills we are fine with dying. As you stated, we were there for 5+ minutes farming the 20 or so BP from the camp and some AR until we got rear ended by an AR zerg (I believe it was AR) from hills which overwhelmed us eventually. Culling in that area usually seems to be worse than anywhere else on the map, so we didn’t see the zerg until they were on top of us.

You depict a little different of a story now than before where we died to an upscaled GOAT group. Also pretty weird hearing you say we’re good at something.

Edit: I guess if we were good at chess we would have gone and taken some towers while you two were fighting each other. Some days we might like “chess,” but on most we like the “checkers,” I mean PvP.

I never stated our xp group defeated you Guys single handedly, only that “things did not go as planned” for you all. Though I guess I should not be surprised that what I wrote was interpreted that way.

Score in the lower tiers are reflected on the numbers each server can produce, nothing more. NSP has shown that it can dominate on multiple reset nights when the numbers come into town. Move along……..

BP used to do the same, in fact the reset night rush was something we became know for. Eventually we realized that it is a marathon not a sprint. Blowing your wad in the first 48 hours is not a solid long term strategy.

Someday NSP will get tired of following others coattails and try to take objectives themselves. Maybe then you won’t be last every week.
Every week its the same BP attacks ARBL, then NSP shows up, BP leaves, NSP leaves. AR attacks BP, NSP shows up. NSP never leads the way anywhere except to last place.
If a place is fortified NSP avoids it, if a place just got taken by AR or BP, then NSP will show up to cap a paper tower left behind.
It’s truly sad and quite pathetic.

Difference is we played for fun and got 2nd. You will “play for fun” and be distant 3rd.

ALS took the start of the week off.
And NSP was well into 2nd place and AR set up to be last.
But near the end of the week?
We plummeted hard. And I saw plenty of ALS and the other AR guilds in WvW 24/7.

So, to pretend that you didn’t even try. Is mildly laughable.
You’re kind of like that mediocre kid, who tells you he didn’t study. And then gets top of the class.

Everyones like, sure you didn’t.

yeah I have been a power necro for awhile now, ankittenrying to come up with what I want to do next. These days roaming solo or in a duo, the majority of what I encounter are thieves and confusion mesmers, and a power necro with horribad range isn’t cutting it. Kinda a shame as I really enjoy the class, but am not too interested in going back to full conditionmancer spec.

I wasn’t there but I think we can all agree Anet has bloody aweful timing when it comes to resets and wvw. As for advance warning, Anet does not give that much warning compared to some other games. So you are quoting yourself to back up your assertion that BP only zergs? That is certainly an interesting tact.

Who are your soloers? I solo pretty much 2 hours a night. I can name probably a dozen NSP who run solo, and have only seen one Thief from BP solo. From my experience, BP zergs more than anything else.

There are NSP guilds who see me, and one person fights me 1v1, and the next, and the next, and the next. What BP guild would do that?

Um no, AR zergs more than anything else! Maybe you should play yourself! Never seem to see anything but huge numbers of waves from AR, particularly ALS and interestingly enough SoS. I run with whoever is on, be it 3 or 23, and I do run around alot solo but never seem to find anything but numbers.

No one said AR doesn’t have zergs. AR also has a lot of solo players, many of those Rangers surprisingly enough, and there is a guild dedicated to running in pairs. I run primarily solo, so I see who is solo, and who is not from both BP, and NSP. I see the small groups, and the groups, and also the zergs.

I’ve seen BP maybe one group, a couple trios, but NSP has so many small groups, duos, and solos, it is night and day difference.

While I can’t speak for other BP players/guilds. But for me, it depends on the time. Prime time PST is spent running with the guild. However, 11ish onwards PST is usually spent running my Necro with a Ranger buddy in EB or perhaps one of the other lands. (sometimes we pick up a few and run a 3-5 man). Late late night if I stay up is me solo. I get roflstomped by greater numbers late at night all the time, /shrug thats just how it goes.

As for providing you with a list of names of people who run solo, again, I think it depends on the time of night and the mood of the player.

Personaly I would like to see more small group action (ex-Mid MLF DOAC player), fight clubs etc. The only fight clubs I have seen in this matchup have always been smashed by people unwilling to let others “do their own thing”.

Trying to generalize entire servers based on the behavior of a few is fail. Every server has their jerks, their nubs, their pros, and the really nice people.

Anyways, nice week, I missed most of it due to having to work out of town since last sunday, but got in some playtime last night. Some fun 1v1s, some 1v1s that ended in both of us getting faced stomped by the adds from the third server.

Conditions have a weakness in wvw when you go up against coordinated guilds. However if you aren’t on a tier 1 wvw server, those won’t be an issue. Conditions, imo, are a much better option in wvw because they have strong AoE damage/support without putting yourself in danger, and can be used from/on walls to defend and attack much better.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Servers in all tiers have very good soloers and 5 man gank groups, and organized guild teams. In fact many people have left the upper tiers in order to avoid ques and to get great small scale wvw action. Trying to equate a server’s tier with individual player skill is, for lack of a better word, pure arrogence.

I switched from a full exotic conditionmancer to a full exotic powermancer. Both have their place in WvW, however, I prefer the powermancer playstyle.

Numbers Schnumbers.. it is great to see NSP in the lead.

Maguuma guy in the OG guild who makes rather flamboyant posts. He is a legend in his own mind.

Watched both vids, nice stuff. Others have mentioned things, but one thing I noticed that I haven’t seen mentioned is food buffs. Lots of fights where you have none on. I know it gets missed in the heat of battle when they wear off. Maybe I am being nit picky but IMO you would be doing yourself a huge favor to stay on top of that a bit more.

If it’s to test your skills 1v1/2v2/whatever and not just test out abilities specific to your WvW use, sPvP is an even playing field that’s suitable for that. Yes, it’s not exactly the same, but it’s similar enough that if you’re worried about people ganking a fight club it’s a viable alternative. And also, who uses racial abilities 1v1 anyway?!

Pain Inverter is probably one of the best abilities a Asuran condition Ranger can use, that could do 6k, or more damage if the person chooses not to attack for 5 seconds, unless of course they can remove a full array of conditions.

I have migrated away from pain inverter, but yes.. pain inverter is wft pwnsauce (mods wtf pwnsauce is not targeted at any one server/race/class in order to make them feel marginalized)

Back off of Toble, PAXA. You guys did, indeed, break up fight club on multiple occasions. These were organized as a fun way for people from all 3 servers to test themselves 1v1. The fact that you guys broke it up proves, to me, you don’t hold that much respect towards any of the servers here. Toble has called you guys out because that is what your are currently presenting yourselves as. I personally don’t care how you play, but I do care about server and guild respect.

We personally don’t care about OS and especially fight club. Little respect for carebear activities. Fight club doesn’t hone anything other than bunker builds. Toble throws out garbage daily, don’t kitten where you eat.

if you spec solely for 1v1 fight club then, yes you have a valid point. If you fight club with your normal wvw build, then fight clubs are a great place to workshop things.

Fight clubs are a great way to figure out how to fight that “one class” or that “one build” or just learn the ropes on your toon. While it might not be tr00 pvp, it is a great way to hone your skills. I appreciate the Fight Clubs you have put together.

on mainhand dagger is +5% crit chance, offhand is the sigil of rage, was just a cheap experiment. for a Dagger necro for procs what do you suggest? normally I use the el cheapo air, cause it is a random ~1200 damage now and then.

does it work?

I run around with 61% crit chance, sigil of rage has a 10% chance to proc on crit. In over a week of wvw/pve farming for $$ I have never noticed it proccing. I know it doesn’t show up in combat log, but I would think I would notice it on screen.

Has anyone else tried this sigil? or know if it indeed does not work with our daggers? FYI the sigil is applied to my offhand warhorn.
