We will be doing a text-only build today. Although you will see a “new build” notification in the game, no alterations are being made to the game at this time other than to update a few words of in-game text.
I got my gold back now. It arrived in delivery box. I updated my ticket. There was a delay of around 30-40 minutes between the time I cancelled my buy-order and received my gold.
I hope you don’t mind, but I edited the title of this thread to mention that for you, the issue has been resolved.
Hey, all,
So sorry for these glitches. The team is working on getting things in order, and as you can see from TheQuickFox’s post immediately above, some players already have noted a correction of the issue.
From what the programmers said, the accounts are ok, but they are displaying incorrectly and that should correct soon. I recommend you hold tight on submitting a ticket for a few hours, to allow time for everything to right itself (with the magical assistance of our programming team, of course. )
We believe this is associated with a glitch that’s happening today. Programmers are working to correct this issue, which I believe is associated with the display and is not actually wrong on the back end.
Can you please submit a ticket if you do not see this corrected in a few hours? (I’d allow 3-4 hours before sending a ticket — that should be more than enough time to see if things are okay.)
Thanks.

Beautiful!!
I have to ask, does it have a title? Is there a particular area that inspired you?
Oh, and what program do you use? I love those sort of details.

Thank you for all the details that you’ve provided in your reports. This level of detail will be helpful in allowing QA to thoroughly review what’s going on which in turn would ensure that the devs can implement a correction.
just doing hearts in Diessa Plateau the game crashes even
Dang! Thanks for letting us know, WC.
Yes, this is more widespread than PvP, I agree. The team is aware and is continuing to work on the fix.
This is common after a patch, especially where there’s a change to the dailies. You can get in some extra rewards, if you happen to have completed a few before the update.
Yep, not uncommon, that’s true. I have routed to the QA Team, and will update if I have more info. My instinct is that the dailies will not be reverted to the previous set when other bugs (PvP lobby issue, in-game mail crash) are resolved, but I am speaking only casually and do not have confirmation of that at this time.
Thanks for the report, Solace.
Are other players also seeing this issue? I had not yet picked up this cycle’s dailies, so I cannot confirm this personally. Just wondering if others also noticed the change when this morning’s build went live.
So sorry for this! We’re working on a fix, have actually gotten it well underway and we will have a fix as soon as possible.
Yes, we’re so sorry! We’re working on this and will have a fix as soon as possible.

Ah great! Here are the July dates. I will sticky this post for visibility.
Thanks!
2FA isn’t actually going to help against phishing, since the attacker will just ask for the code, which they only need once to remember their IP. If you want to stop phishing, the original email authentication was the best bet, since you had to actually click a link to login, meaning the user couldn’t screw it up. It just needed a bigger focus on the login location.
The default email authentication is actually just as good as 2FA, because your email is the weakest link either way. If your email is compromised, 2FA isn’t going to make a difference because your email likely contains enough information to phish support into giving away access. If you actually want to secure your account, putting 2FA on your email is far more important. After securing your email, ensure that no forwarding or recovery options have been setup to create a backdoor into your account.
That’s really interesting input, Healix. I’m glad you shared that. In turn, I’m going to point out these comments. I think it may well be worthwhile to mention 2FA for e-mails in our original message!
Hey folks,
If you have questions you’d like to ask, suggestions you want to share with fellow players, or concerns about the topic, please post them in this thread. (I edited to add that to the main thread, but because the input thread is new, wanted to make a separate post, as well.)
Thanks!

As you may have noticed, we posted an informational thread in News and Announcements on the topic of account security and recent phishing attempts. There’s new info there, and you may have questions or concerns about the topic.
So this thread is designed as a space for you to ask questions, share suggestions or tips, and generally discuss the issue of phishing. (That’s “phishing” and not “fishing.” The latter is a topic for a whole different sub-forum. )
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
We’re talked about account security and phishing in the past, such as in this legacy forum thread. However, because we’ve noted a modest uptick in account thefts related to phishing, we wanted to share some info with you.
One of the more common phishing attempts today is coming from within the game. The in-game message claims to come from ArenaNet or the Guild Wars 2 Team or it may be signed by someone who purports to be a member of our GM team. Some of the in-game mails may resemble a common phishing attempt we noted a couple of years ago, which you can view here.
So what can you do, to prevent this sort of thing?
Beyond that, please heed these reminders:
Again, the first and best protection for your account comes through SMS or Mobile Authentication. The second line of defense is caution and care in how you react to e-mails and in-game mails.
Let’s all band together to stop phishers in their tracks!
You can share your thoughts, questions, input, tips, and suggestions in this thread, and we invite you to do so!

Love all this, Windu!

We have had quite a few threads posted about Pips over the last few days. In order to keep things organized, let’s use this single thread to discuss the topic moving forward.
You may have noticed that a few threads were merged a day or so ago. Unfortunately, some of those covered very different aspects of the topic of Pips, and as a result of the merge, a certain amount of confusion has arisen. I apologize for the confusion that the merge caused, and hope that with this one feedback thread, all sorts of comments will make sense in the big picture.
If you’re responding directly to a comment, feel free to use the quote feature to make that clear, or lead your post with a few words about the specific sub-topic you’re discussing.
Thanks for understanding.

You are awesome Linsey Murdock!
Yeah, she really is! I got a sneak peek at the list and I was blown away by its comprehensive nature. So happy that the devs are going to be able to make this happen!
Hey there,
The team is aware of these issues, and is working on a correction right now.
No ETA on a fix, but they’re on the case!
Hello Gaile, you might want to check your post in the news subforum that you have linked (replying here as I cant do it over there):
[…]If after six hours you find that you still do have your Hall of Monuments rewards, please contact Customer Support for assistance.
I have the feeling that part is missing a “not” as I dont think you want people that have all their rewards to contact support in a few hours. I believe it should be clear for most people what is meant but some might understand it wrong. Unless you want support to get spammed with “I still have my rewards”-tickets in a few hours.
Dang, I fixed that in Spanish, French, and German and missed it in English? Shame on me!
Thanks for the note!
Detailed messaging posted in the News and Announcements sub-forum,
here.
Thanks for your understanding!
Friday morning (Pacific time) we had a brief outage of Guild Wars (original) that caused a temporary desync between Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. This impacted several players’ Hall of Monuments rewards. In fact, some players received notification via the Guild Wars 2 in-game mail system that said their Hall of Monuments feature was removed because they had acquired more points than intended. This message was sent in error and your rewards were not affected.
Here’s a workaround that should reset things so that your account is back to normal:
Doing this should re-sync your HoM rewards. But please note the following: It may take a few hours for the reconnection to take place. If after six hours you find that you still do not have your Hall of Monuments rewards, please contact Customer Support for assistance.

We had a brief desync between GW and GW2. It’s nothing major, but we’ll have information soon, including a workaround to reset things. All is well with your account.
Apologies for that scary message, and for the apparent demotion!
With the next release, we will be making a change to the Watchtower Cliffs (aka: the centaur stronghold) area of Lake Doric. The Harathi centaurs noticed that while those who shout “I can outrun a centaur” were not much of a threat, those who could build turrets and other weaponry were. They reached back to their command in the Harathi Hinterlands and requested support, which has come in the form of trebuchet fire aimed at enemies in their Lake Doric stronghold.
This change is intended to discourage players from AFKing in the centaur stronghold. The strikes come swiftly and carry a powerful punch – especially towards summons – while not becoming overly punishing to those who are playing through the entire area. Keep an eye out and be ready to evade the bombardments!
We will continue to monitor the centaur’s stronghold area and will investigate potential changes to incentivize intended gameplay in the area.
Hey Noisia — are you still up for commissions? I was going to do a call-out on CSL, but wanted to be sure you still had the time to make these chatbox banners as individual commissions.
Thanks.
That is very nice! I love the incorporation of so much iconic imagery, and I agree the little mastery points are too cute!!
I like this sketch, and think it’s wonderful that you have developed such a detailed and interesting backstory.
This is amazing stuff. I have to wonder how many hours it took you to acquire all those chests and rewards. And I hope you got everything you dreamed by doing it.
That’s stunning! <3
But wait, can you tell me more? What’s the character’s name? Whose character is it?
That is thief Sindrener from bluri.2653.
Thanks, Cynz. Bluri is a lucky pup!
This is a lot of fun. Congratulations on your 5th Anniversary, RISE!
I had some free time last week, and finished this painting about druids. I think I was heavily inspired by the GW druids, so this is partly fanart.
Super hype with the last patch.
That is amazing work. Thank you for sharing it, Penslinger!
These are enjoyable videos.
I just wanted to mention that we are not able to share them on our Community Showcase Live broadcast because they feature copyright music. (Copyright not ArenaNet, I mean.) I didn’t want you to think their lack of inclusion was based on a quality problem, and I do hope you’ll continue to make them!
Hey Jake,
Could I get the artist’s name and her permission to share this? If she has an account, just ask if she could kindly post in this thread to make sure we have all the courtesies observed.
You might also include the character’s name, too.
Thanks!
ahem
Ok, I defer to the next person.
Found it and Hahnchen DID post it: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/creations/ART-BlindGravity-and-Angelsdevils-Portaits/6460008
Yay!
For every forum member who feels someone’s videos should be in a different place, someone else feels they should be here.
The fact is, the profession forums are for discussion, and this sub-forum is for sharing player creations. That is why the videos are moved here.
Take a situation where someone creates a video that features one of every profession. Should they post it on 9 sub-forums? I don’t think so. So this spot should be the “go-to” spot for videos — no matter the subject, no matter the profession, not matter whether they are guides, gameplay videos, or music videos with gameplay underlying them.
And quite frankly, I am not a fan of a forum member calling moderators"overzealous." They’re doing their job properly. So let’s understand that there’s a place for everything, and respect that everything should be in its place.
I’m open to discussing this, but ask that you consider all the alternatives. For instance, where does that cross-profession video go? Things like that need to be considered, so we don’t have a lot of cross-posting, because posting in a bunch of forums reduces the visibility of actual conversations. We also don’t want to have a flood of videos that push actual conversations off the forums. (Which is sort of why we have a fan art forum to begin with. No one loves fan art more than I do, but I know it’s best in its own place and not scattered across discussions.)
Maybe the answer is as simple as a sticky post in each profession forum, “Put your videos here!” I’m open to that as a “for instance” of how we can best handle this situation.
Looking forward to input on this, and thanks.

Love these! I prefer the first because the second is a little on the dark side, with the background and all. But both are very nice.
Wish Hahnchen would post these, so we had permission to share them on CSL. Ah well, maybe sometime in the future.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
I tried to watch, but it appears the video was removed. I hope to see it in the future.
This is amazing. I love the detail in the work, and learning a bit about how it was made.
That’s stunning! <3
But wait, can you tell me more? What’s the character’s name? Whose character is it?
If this day get established, I’d love to share it with our devs to let them know it’s happening. It sounds like a super idea, and I know some of us would love to drop by while it’s going on.
So please let me know if this gets more formally organized, and a date, time, location, etc.
Thanks a bunch!
We are including this thread in a report to the studio, so please do feel free to add any additional thoughts on Episode 5 here.
Thanks for your feedback!
