I just found out that someone thought that because I asked for an e-mail address, they would be contacted by e-mail if they made the VIP list. No!

If you are added to the VIP list, you will received a response to your PM here on the forums.

So please, check your PMs to learn if you’re on the list. And also you’ll want to be aware that if you are not on the VIP list, there will be a sort of “general admission” line, so you may very well make it into the party!

This is a topic that I’ve been concerned about too, not as a woman, but as a human being. Hurtful words that are used unthinkingly can impact anyone, from a victim of sexual assault to a person with Down’s Syndrome or an individual with physical handicaps.

We do try to filter the use of certain words on the forums. I stand behind that process because, viewing the big picture, an individual’s perceived “right to free speech” which so often equates to “right to offend” should not outweigh a community’s right to enjoy a pleasant and accepting experience.

Because some seem unable or unwilling to participate in a straightforward conversation on this topic, I’ve locked the thread and the moderators will conduct a significant clean-up on the contents.

Honestly I’d prefer a vendor – turn in X number of kits and buy a specific dye. I have 33 of the first kits, 19 of the second and 2 of the third so far and 6 dyes from a single kit that I don’t have. Depending on how the forging would work, most likely I’d be somewhere between throwing them away and it not being significant compared to actually picking dyes I’d want, but it would work better for others at least.

I do not anticipate that the developers are considering adding another vendor for this once-a-year item. I was looking at the options that we currently have at hand. I’m most interested in learning if the items can be put into the Mystic Forge. I have so many characters on so many accounts, I have to figure out who would be eligible for the birthday gift today.

What do you guys think about forging them?

GW2Navi can do that and then some more. Has GPS feature and you can get chat codes for waypoints and stuff. It is just an overlay that uses API so its not a “legal hack” like dps meters.

Thanks for sharing that idea, too, TheRandomGuy. It sounds like a very useful tool… although I’m a little unclear about what it intended to be linked in the reference to the tool being “ArenaNet promoted.”

Those dailies always include a wide part of the map, say “ore from ascalon”, “vista from orr” etc.

This is correct.

• Gathering is regional and the related maps are given in the event description. Today’s reads: “Gather raw materials by harvesting trees in the following Heart of Maguuma maps: Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, Tangled Depths, and Dragon’s Stand.”

• Daily Event Completers are specific to a map, which can be ascertained by knowing or looking up the regions and then searching for the map within that region. For instance, today’s says, “Complete events in Caledon Forest in the Maguuma Jungle.” So I head to the Maguuma Jungle area of the world map and find Caledon Forest and away I go.

• Daily Adventures have a link within the notice that shows you exactly where the adventure is sited. Sometimes you may need to click that link twice to go to the world map and see where it is and then click again to identify the nearest waypoint, but it’s very functional.

Maybe it would help if you describe the maps to yourself as a group and learn where the groups are on the map

For myself, I use something like this

• Ascalon: Charr area, brown maps on far right/east
• Shiverpeaks: Norn, white maps
• Kryta: Humans, green central maps
• Maguuma jungle: both Asura and Sylvari maps, core Tyrian maps on far left/west and maps below Lions Arch
• Orr: brown maps in the south

Use whatever description makes sense to you and remember them as a grouped area on your mental map of the world.

I do something very similar. Sometimes, even after all this time, I muddle Orr and “Charrland” as I call Ascalon, but I get there eventually.

atheria — asking for a change of this nature is a very significant request. It’s not a “simple” alteration to the game at all, as it would involve a major code, art, and UI change, and it would need to be done in four languages. In truth, you have the ability to address your specific needs by printing a map of the five regions, or just drawing a sketch that shows Orr in the lower center; Ascalon in the upper right, etc. I completely understand that you cannot remember the locations, but you can make a tool for yourself that will help you and that is by far the most practical resolution for this personal situation.

Ok. I take on board that there’s “art” and there’s “info” and videos can fall into either category… and sometimes both.

Here’s a new idea:

What about a thread — as we have here for screenshots — that allows people to post links to and explanations of their videos in a separate thread in each subforum: profession, WvW, PvP, etc.? That would help keep videos visible (I’d sticky the thread) and organized in a single thread, rather than getting complaints that there are too many videos rather than discussions in those sub-forums, or too many action videos in the art sub-forum.

Go to class forums please. Already feedbacks there and I don’t think they are going repeat what already said to here. Plus that this thread going to be cluttered up.

We know there is individual feedback in the profession forums, and I’m sure the devs will read it. This thread is very useful, though, because it’s asking for clear and concise feedback, and that is very helpful to us, in addition to the more detailed input that players wish to share.

We have temporarily removed the Champion of Tyria Package from the Gem Store while we address an issue with it. We will make it available again as soon as possible.

At this time, we believe that everyone who might have wanted to make a comment about this topic has done so… perhaps repeatedly. We’ll close it now.

The reason that this particular name is blocked is entirely different than you believe. In fact, we block names that have a space around the letter “G” because that’s the most effective way to block someone from posing as a Game Master. We learned from experience in our own and other games that some people impersonate GM’s in an attempt to scam other players. They might use GM Fred or G M Fred, or they may incorporate symbols that look like “GM” at a glance. Blocking a self-standing letter “G” allows us to better prevent that unfortunate situation.

I wanted to be sure that you knew this this thread is still active and your input is welcome. This thread pertains to the PvE Preview, our first of two events. I’m now (since the preview is over) posting a PvP/WvW Preview feedback thread.

I just took a peek at my Private Message box, and yes, it’s pretty busy there, but it’s great that so many of you have indicated you’d like to attend the Guild Wars 2 Fifth Anniversary Party!

It’s not too late to request a possible spot on the VIP list, so go ahead and let me know you’d like to get on the list if you will be in Seattle on September 1st, and if you will be sure to attend if you land a spot. And say, if you haven’t had a response to a recent request yet, don’t despair! I decided to tackle that bursting PM box on Monday rather than on the weekend.

I’ll be getting back to as many of you as possible over the next day, and will be accepting requests until Monday morning, August 27th. This gives me Monday to review the last requests and get back to everyone and it gives you time to plan to attend the party! • Scourge: Fixed a permissions bug preventing necromancers from accessing their scourge profession abilities underwater.

Ranger

• Leader of the Pack: Fixed a bug with this trait’s interaction when using the skill One Wolf Pack.

This thread has more than exceeded its reasonable shelf-life. The heat within it, and the accusatory and insulting tone adopted by many leads to the conclusion that it’s time to close it. Clearly, anyone interested in the subject has more than said his/her fill — in some cases many, many times over — and the time expended by the moderation team is excessive for dealing with a single thread.

Suffice to say, opinions on this topic vary widely, and that’s perfectly fine.

Hello everyone! Thank you to all the players that are going around helping others out! It really is satisfying to see that there are other players out there that are more than about themselves!

The only thing I’ve really wanted is the Miniature Raven. It’s so cute and amazing, I missed my chance to buy the Mini Avian 3 Pack when it was available, so now I’m hoping to get Black Lion Keys in order to get the 2 Black Lion Miniature Claim Tickets needed to exchange for the Miniature Raven.

I just heard from Irenio, and he mentioned that there is a second fix going in that should eliminate a few lingering issues with the Pet Swap delay. The situation was only partially addressed the first time around but the whole issue should be fully resolved with this second pass.

Naturally if you continue to have issues, we want to hear it, and we’ll keep an eye on this thread in case you need to report something. However, I believe this will render this bug “done and dusted.”

I’m someone that gets motion sickness incredibly easily from screen motion. And the raptor was no problem for me. I use the settings below. They keep me well zoomed out with a wide field of view. I also happen to have my Motion Blur (bottom of the Graphics Settings tab) fairly low, near the start of the first bit of thick white line.

Try those settings, those who are getting queasy. It means characters are tiny so you may miss out on clothing and face details on others nearby, but it’s so nice not to puke!

I’m sorry that you’re having this issue. I wonder, have you tried lowering your Visual Blur setting? That is a specific recommendation from the team, and they feel it may help with this problem.

We’d love to hear from you if this adjustment is effective. Team members who have worked/are working on the mounts will be tracking this feedback!

The Elonian faces do appear slightly lighter in the cheeks/forehead than our original faces when they have darker skin tones, and there may be something of a variance between the face and body of a specific character. This was intended because it helps call out/highlight the features of the face.

• Attempting to borrow a raptor while using the Fire Extinguisher bundle skill may cause the raptor to despawn before the player is recognized as riding a mount.

Is the HP and toughness of pets in WvW actually a bug or it’s the new mechanic? My fernhound died from the veteran harpy, which is quite a joke. If it’s how it is from now, then you just killed the core ranger and you assume we will all buy the new expansion. No matter what is the plans for the new expac, rangers didn’t deserve such a nerf bat in the nuts.

Have other Rangers noticed this situation, as well? I’d like to see if there’s anything to be learned, as the more I know about general feedback, the better I will be able to express the question or concern.

Reiterating the need to look into the actual healing coming from the new minor trait ‘Rugged Growth’. It still heals for far less then what is on the tooltip.
Would be cool to fully benefit from a new minor trait that has replaced the beloved Bark Skin.

I am not aware of this one and cannot say what’s up, whether it’s a problem with the skill stats or with the description. Thanks for bringing it up.

You may have missed my comment: I just merged a few more threads, and wanted to update you on the bug with Skill No. 3. That, too, has been addressed and you should see that fix rolling out very soon!

Merged about half a dozen threads, and I’m hoping that this thread will give you all the info you need on two significant bugs for the Ranger.

If I missed anything, please note it in this thread, but rest assured that the devs are reading this forum, and are actively working on any issues that you point out.
