What I was referring to is in this example.
I had fun watching that, BloodWork. You know what I thought was really good? Giving your build info. Doing that, you’re not just showing what you can do or have done, but also helping what others can do, too.
Hope you’ll keep making those.
(Note: As with any video, we would not be able to show this on Community Showcase Live because it uses music that is copyright by another person or company. But being on CSL isn’t the be-all and end-all of this forum, by any means! This stands just fine as a viewable video and even as a guide for others. I just wanted to mention that copyright bit because it could be information that others would benefit from knowing.)
Holllllyyyy kittens that is impressive.
I hope that gets showcased by the community team!
cough
Not that I’d ever give predictive commentary on an upcoming CSL, but, in a hypothetical sense, given Josh Foreman is my guest and given SAF is ongoing at the time of the live broadcast, well, merely speculatively speaking, wouldn’t it be cool if maybe a clip were shown and… something like that?
Oh on a purely hypothetical level if such a scenario could occur, then it would be very appropriate.
Speculatively speaking only of course………..
Right, right. Only on a purely hypothetical level…
Seriously! We need that! But then, Neo, maybe you and I are a small percentage of people?
Make it 3
Exxxxcelllent!
Seriously! We need that! But then, Neo, maybe you and I are a small percentage of people? I have heard that for many, bagpipes are not a pleasing sound. Some call them “wheezebags” and other not-so-nice names. I personally love the instrument!
What kind of uncultured swine doesn’t love bagpipes??
Well, really, that’s the crux of the matter, isn’t it? And yet, I have a few friends whom I think have relatively good taste who say the sound is like fingernails on a blackboard. Hmmm… I may need to start rethinking my friends, eh?
love the idea of the bag pipes. but what we really need is a theramin (spelling?) sounds like an instrument asurans would use.
Oooh, love that! What a terrific throwback to cheesy 1950’s human movies, to use that instrument for the Asura in Tyria!
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
That is incredibly lovely! (And how did I not see it until today?)
Thank you for sharing this — it’s beautiful!

This is amazing! You have done so much, the two of you. You SAB/SAF guild hall is the perfect model of commitment and love!
And special kudos to Cordelia, Jennybabe, and Aurorae for helping with the project and for making it possible for FATE to share the video.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
This is very cool, and I can see you put a lot of thought into the idea. I love that you invoke Greek mythology!
You make a good point. I guess Players Helping Players would be the best. But because I moved this here and we have a good conversation, I think this is the rare case for having two thread.
Bigz, would you be so kind as to share your guide in Players Helping Players, as well?
I apologize for any confusion with this!
Bug Fixes:
This is super helpful, and it’s in the right forum, no worries. Players looking for a guide would check this forum, where the community projects are housed, rather than in GW2 Discussion.
I will be mentioning this post on the next Community Showcase Live — I know players will really appreciate it!
Very nice! Love the perspective.
I agree, it is an interesting perspective. Well done!
This is really good! I noticed it was called “Small.” Is there a larger version available?
Our April edition of Community Showcase Live is re-scheduled to allow Josh to work on his current art project. Here’s the new date:
Wednesday, April 19th, at Noon Pacific Time
Guild Wars 2 Twitch Channel Link
Join me and my special guest — Josh Foreman! — as we delve into the latest creative offerings from our community of players.
As always, we’ll place the video of the show on YouTube, but we’d love for you to join us live, if you can, so you can take a chance on one of our giveaways!

Hey there, BW,
I think this would be best in the Creative Corner / Community Creations sub-forum. Here’s a link: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/creations
That’s where a lot of artists of all kinds present their works in progress and ask for feedback. Could you please post about this there?
Thanks.
If you need help with how to properly indicate copyrights, please write Community@Arena.Net.
Please Gaile talk to Keenan about the asuran portal of the Royal Terrace. That permanent sound is really annoying
We also need silent technology there! It’s impossible to relax there.
Huh! I must stand somewhere different because I don’t hear that. Let me hop into the game and take note of what you’re hearing. Thanks for the input.
EDIT: I’m standing in the RT, practically in the gate, and I don’t hear a thing. I checked my sound settings, and everything is on, so … I can’t figure out what the issue is. Could you explain? Thanks.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
This isn’t a “vote” situation, per se, but input is appreciated and we’ll be reading!
Upon re-reading this: Why do I get the feeling this thread is another ruse? You guys (Anet) have a track record for asking for player feedback on a suggestion, when in truth, the proposed “solution” is already in-the-works and will be implemented anyway – regardless of feedback.
Rest assured that the proposed solution is not in the works, and this thread, and the idea of gathering feedback, is not a “ruse.” I have been forwarding player concerns on this subject for years, then following up every several months in response to players who ask about it. This thread is a genuine feedback-gathering initiative for a legitimate attempt to address what many players have pointed to as a quality of life situation, be they users or whose who plays besides the users of certain legendaries.
At the very least please allow for other people to get rid of the noise. I can’t stand it when someone is right next to me firing horses in every direction. Enjoy your legendary, but please don’t ruin my experience for it.
That sort of sums up some of the “choice words” that have been directed at me. I feel when my bow negatively impacts someone else’s experience — even to the point of a party member asking me to drop out of the party because they “can’t stand another minute of that bow!” — then a solution is worth investigating.
It’s good to get this feedback. I’m really happy that we’re talking about this, and that one of our team members is willing to look at possible changes. But by no means is such a change a given, and other suggestions are appreciated, as well!
The Dreamer is amazing, keep it as it is.
Also people who don’t like the sound effects of Quip and Dreamer now have alternatives in the form of Hope and Chuka and Champawat.
I will leave others to comment on Quip, but as a player who uses The Dreamer ever day, I want to share some thoughts:
Saying “Get another bow” seems akin to saying, “Let them eat cake.” I would love to own C&C, and perhaps someday I will. But at this time, I am not able to undertake that legendary journey. So I will continue to use the bows that I have: Kudzu and The Dreamer. At the end of the day, I love the bows I have and I don’t know that I ever intend to change. But as a user, I am delighted wtih the prospect of a modest improvement, such as the one Keenan proposed.
Now, I don’t mind the whinnying, personally. I tune it out, no biggie. However, some other users of The Dreamer object to the sound and they tell us they are disturbed by it and that it negatively impacts their pleasure in using an item they spent a lot of time to acquire. And as a user of The Dreamer, I’ve experienced other players sharing… err… a few choice words with me about the sounds.
Given the amount of feedback about the “noisiness” of the bow, I am in favor of the proposal at hand. But I’m just one user, and I’m looking forward to what others have to say. This isn’t a “vote” situation, per se, but input is appreciated and we’ll be reading!
One of our sound designers, Keenan, was kind enough to look into sounds effects related to a few items or areas about which players have reported concerns.
The first thing Keenan examined was the Captain’s Airship. Players said they felt that area had a rather intrusive “hissing” effect. Keenan was able to eliminate the hiss, and while he was at it, he adjusted a few other effects in that same general area. These changes went live today, and we believe you’ll enjoy your visits to the airship even more in the future.
Keenan also is looking at possible changes to two weapons that players have reported as having problematic sound effects: The Dreamer and Quip. He has an interesting idea about how to address your concerns, and we wanted to share that idea to get your feedback: “I’m thinking about trying out an implementation where both of the weapons have new, unique sounds (that are not annoying) while still giving them a very small chance to play the original sounds. It seems to me that would give everyone the same experience, remove the annoyance, and keep the original goofiness that some owners may like about the weapons.”
So we want to sound you out about something:
What do you think of the potential changes for Quip and The Dreamer?
Please note: Each of these changes was or will be a one-off change, and each change takes time of team members who are very busy with upcoming projects. If there are other sound-related issues that you believe we should address, you may add them to this thread. However, please keep in mind that the main purposes of this thread are to tell you about today’s change to the Captain’s Airship and to gather your feedback on possible changes to The Dreamer and Quip. We appreciate everyone’s efforts in keeping this thread on the topic at hand.

This sounds like a great idea! However, could you please post about your event in the In-Game Events sub-forum? Here’s a link: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/events
Thanks.
This is an interesting discussion, and it’s clear there are a variety of opinions about the topic. Please feel free to share your thoughts, but we’d appreciate your doing so without the use of pejoratives or insults towards those who hold a different opinion.
TL;dr – Be kind!
Here’s the Gem Store Gallery and Wishlist with sound alerts like TorsoReaper requested. Click the Help button on the page for how to use the app.
Awesome job! Thanks!
Oh my goodness, that’s great!
You could ask the API developer if it’s possible to release a new node that would expose (a) the items available in the gem shop & (b) the costs. Then fan-coders could write an app that would display changes.
The relevant forum is:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api
(The developer is extremely open-minded and usually gives quick feedback about feasibility and time frames, i.e. he’d say if it was a practical impossibility with current data, if it were more work than it sounds, or if it’s something he could whip up over coffee.)
I think this is really good advice. I don’t know what technological requirements such a system would have, but with kind players willing to do some of the work in creating an app, I do this it’s worth asking our API-knowledgeable folks — who are some of the most amazing at participation here! — if they can offer an opinion on the possibility of putting some of this info in an acccessible form.
Hello,
Posting this is ok, but not in the main Guild Wars 2 Discussion sub-forum, which is intended for conversations about the game. Best to post in our “Looking for” forum, where you will be more likely to find people who may be interested in forming a party with you in Guild Wars.
I’ll close this thread, but please feel free to create in the proper sub-forum. Thanks!
Everyone experiences a game somewhat differently, but there are so many subtle things in Tyria, I’d start over, personally.
And hey, welcome back!
We believe that all of the momentary issues with gems not showing up on your accounts has now been resolved. If you continue to see issues with your account, please contact Customer Support and they’ll help!
This thread had been temporarily removed to allow me to review it (because there were some side conversations that threatened to pull it badly off topic). It seems a conversation of interest to our members, and I note that most participants have remembered to show respect towards their fellow forum members and post in a constructive manner. With that in mind, the thread is now reinstated.

Edit: Someone fulfilled my request in full, thank you so much. And I’d also like to add, if anyone wants help with jumping puzzles, I can help with most of them besides the hardest ones like Ember bay. Feel free to message me or add me and we can figure out when to get you through whatever puzzle you need help with.
I started working towards Bolt last month and got lucky with the mystic forge and got Zap. So I’ve been working towards getting the materials, but the charged lodestones required have really killed my enthusiasm since it take so much time to farm for just a couple of them even following event trains, I only got a couple in the last few days since I have other stuff to get done. I plan to farm silverwastes to work towards the gifts of magic and might, but I’d appreciate it if someone could send some Charged lodestones my way. I have 9 out of 100 needed, I’m not asking for all 91, but even just a few would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for editing to show (1) your wish was fulfilled and (2) to credit our nice community for doing that! Glad you’re on your way to that item.
Thanks also for offering to help with Jumping Puzzles. As someone who sometimes ~coughoftencough~ has difficulty with the more challenging ones, it’s great when a more veteran player offers to help!
I agree with you guys. This is a beautiful addition to the game.
I apologize for this thread because in no way should it have drawn an ANet response.
Actually, I think you brought up things that others may have wondered about. If you did not, then they arose in the thread from other forum members. I was happy to give the information that I could on the subject at hand.
My guess is that the ArenaNet tag has special meaning to players.
I am sure players love to see developers playing their own game,
but seeing the developer’s tag could be distracting to others.
Distracting, it’s true. Also, “target creating.” I’ve been there, done that, many, many times. If you’re wearing the flair, you’re going to be a target. There have been times I’ve spent more time taking dirt naps than contributing to a fight, and I even tell people when we party up that they should expect to carry my corpse if I’m tagged. It’s all good — we know it’s likely when we tag up. (Whisper: If I can be the distracting factor that leads to my team’s victory, it’s alll good. )
Thanks for the reply Gaile!
I do have a request… We want more devs playing because many of us really need the “Conquer the Creator” title. Can you make that happen?
Well, you know you’re going to have to beat us, right?
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
Ok, seems there are a few concerns, so let me give some info here (with no slight intended for the OP or anyone else participating in this thread):
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
This is a very exciting project, and I’m sure Guild Wars 2 fans will have a lot of fun with it. I’ll get back to you with a couple of suggestions for copyright notification. In the meantime, if you have not done so, please review our Content Terms of Use: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-content-terms-of-use/
Thanks.
Are you saying it saves our CC (or whatever) information, even if we don’t check ‘Save Billing Information’?
I cannot answer for others, but I know my computer sometimes “helpfully” saves information that I don’t intend to save. So I may leave unchecked a merchant’s “Save my info” box, but my actual computer thinks it knows best, and I find when I start to input the CC number, it auto-fills.
I am happy to check into this concern about saved info, but I’d like to do so after I know this isn’t a system rather than store issue.
I looked at this lightly. While I’m not a CS Agent, I know CS processes and procedures, and they have followed them with great care. You have been answered, in detail and in depth. I would assume that the reason you no longer receive answers is (1) you have received explicit information about your suspension and (2) you have submitted a barrage of tickets asking for information you already have received.
The forums is not the place to discuss this. In fact, in my opinion, discussing this is likely going to be fruitless. However, if you wish to discuss this matter, close all your duplicate tickets and review the first that you received. Then, if you have questions, you can respond to that first ticket. The fact is, though, that tickets can reach a point where they no longer merit responses.
Looking at this matter from my view, as forum lead, you may not discuss this matter on the forums and this thread is now closed.

Thank you for your patience while we addressed this issue. The content has been re-enabled.
sheriffsauer.com is gone. Domain expired on 3/1/2017. No point in this sticky anymore.
Thank you for pointing that out. I’ll unsticky this thread.
If someone picks up the ball and runs with it in relation to this resource, we’ll be happy to consider re-stickying an updated thread, or stickying a new one.
There are some interesting suggestions here, and I will pass them along today.
I’m sorry for what happened, Doug, but glad you got everything quickly sorted out! Thanks for sharing your observations, and thanks to others for adding their thoughts.
Some months ago, we asked forum members to not create or engage in threads requesting the reopening of a server or the adjustment of Glicko ratings for a specific server. We explained why at the time, but a little more information and an expansion of our request seems in order at this time.
Server Reopening Requests: Worlds reopen most often due to the natural ebb and flow of players, which impacts the number of play hours on a given world. If a world reopens, it is usually because players or guilds changed worlds, players have stopped playing on that world, or, rarely, because we made an overall adjustment to world capacity. We do not reopen servers upon request and ask that you not post such appeals.
Thread about Worlds: While we appreciate “world pride,” quite a few threads about game worlds become unnecessarily contentious and negative, and we need to close those. Sometimes the mods use the term “matchup thread” when taking action. Yet you should know it’s not the matchup that’s the problem, it’s the unpleasant comments or tone. I’ll work with the moderators to help them make closures, warnings, and infractions clearer.
Glicko Resets: The devs don’t reset a Glicko rating upon request, and resets are not based on perceptions or opinions but on factual data derived from the game info itself. We’ve seen understandable confusion when a reset takes place shortly after someone posts a request thread, or when a reset did not happen even though someone requested it. In order to avoid that kind of confusion, we ask that players not submit Glicko reset requests.
Arguing World Links: The devs make world linking decisions after on a neutral review of data, using algorithms, and based on their best judgment. If you want to discuss your opinions about specific world linkings, you’re welcome to do so. If you have questions, my best advice is to pose your questions in a conversational (not combative) way, because sometimes a dev will be able to provide some information, such as here. However, as a general rule, ArenaNet employees simply do not have the time that would be required to answer individual questions or debate a world linking topic. They do read the forums, however, and will review your constructive feedback on the subject.
I hope these additional details and explanations will help everyone understand our desire for communication coupled with our need to set realistic standards for discussions and forum topics.
We have temporarily disabled the acquisition and/or use of the Siege Disabler item in order to correct a bug related to the item. We will re-enable the item as soon as the bug has been corrected.
Wow, that’s wonderful! Congrats on that reward.
~Muses to self: I wonder if I need to try that kitten-y kitten of a kitten-y JP again.~
As I say to anyone who has trouble with JP’s, if you need a mesmer to help you out, feel free to whisper me. I love running jumping puzzles and am more than happy to assist with any JP in the game.
Though I doubt you’ll take me up on the offer, the offer is there nonetheless. And that goes for anyone reading this.
Very kind of you, DP. At one time I eschewed any help in doing JPs, because I thought that might be “cheaty.” Then I asked a dev and they told me that getting help from other players is part of the game, and that there are some designs that definitely benefit from — maybe are designed to lean towards — the assistance of one of our amazing mesmers. So now I do avail myself of their help, and quite honestly, mesmers have been responsible for quite a few dailies completions for me (you know who you are!), with the attendant reduction in bruising from pounding my head against the keyboard.
So thanks for the offer, and y’know, I may just reach out sometime!
Next up: My first precursor?
You never know. My precursor came from the King Jalis Refuge jp in Snowden Drifts.
I traded in six frozen weapon fragments yesterday, thinking “mmm, two ecto”.
I got the Leaf of Kudzu, and a Shamans weapon used to make the corrupted shard.
Slippy, this is something I’ve never done before so I hope you take no offense to it, but could I rub my mouse on you? Perhaps my keyboard, as well? And if you hold really still, I can grab my computer tower… Oh, and I would be remiss if I left out my router. Would the cables be taking it too far?
I think somewhere around “router” is where you crossed that line.
I think this is very well done. It’s a pleasure to hear this, and honestly, your voice is exceptional! The range on this particular song and the various modulations in key are very challenging — you handled both well.
Since you said this was a work in progress, I look forward to hearing future versions. Keep up the good work!
This is for Cernoch, one of my guildies from River of Tears. The character’s name is Kuchi Fluffy Tail, a Guardian Charr he often uses in WvW. He’s usually the last one standing, so this painting is not that far from the truth. XD
LOVE this! Although I’ve already selected art for the March CSL show, you know that pieces can be featured on a future show!

As you can see, creating something for your own personal use, or as a gift, is different that contemplating creating something to sell. I’m sure you can understand that allowing individuals or companies to sell merchandise without permission or licensing is not a reasonable thing for us to do. No matter the size or scale of such an endeavor, we need to carefully retain all rights to our own properties.
However, there is a possible outlet for your creativity! Check out the WeLoveFine Fan Forge: http://www.welovefine.com/feature/guild-wars-2-fan-forge-info.html You can submit your ideas for merchandise, and if it is selected (there’s a fan vote system which, in part, determines what is made) then you would earn a royalty on each piece sold.
We’re getting set to offer you this month’s CSL, coming to you live on…
Wednesday, March 15th, at Noon Pacific time.
Special guest this month is the amazing Bobby Stein!
Join Bobby and me while we look at some incredible fan art. Our community is sharing so much great art on the forums and Tumblr that I already have 10 selected for April, and another dozen for next February’s Valentine’s show!
We look forward to seeing you on March 15th. (And yes, there will be a giveaway! )
