Next up: My first precursor?
Magic 8 Ball Says: Reply hazy try again.
Wow, that’s wonderful! Congrats on that reward.
~Muses to self: I wonder if I need to try that kitten-y kitten of a kitten-y JP again.~
I don’t need my Legendaries. I can play just fine with some well-chosen exotics. The thing is, though, I want my Legendaries, and I don’t regret the time, effort, or expense involved in acquiring them.
Other players’ mileage may vary. Some will like A, others will prefer B. No one is right or wrong, and only you can make the decision about which to get, or whether to try for one at all.
But every time I take one of my bows in hand, I’m happy. I mean, I honestly think about that every time I play. Not that others see them, or admire them, or they’re super-special and rather rare, although I guess any of that may be true. I love them because they’re just so beautiful, and awesome, and they make me smile.
The gem/gold exchange needs to be regulated. It’s always high when I want low and low when I want high. This is unacceptable
What, that happens to you, too?
…I won’t pretend it’s optimal; it’s just fun.
And that in my opinion, is what matters most. Hey, I play dual-bow Ranger, for goodness sake!
Ranger has been boring for me as my pet takes care of almost everything for me.
Sorry, but that’s blasphemy! Ranger is the best. Full stop.
for me is mesmer but mesmer is a wierd class
But oh so good to party with, and our mesmer community is marvelous with helping get the dailies! I am a major mesmer fan!
Hm. I guess I say “Thank you for the helpful thread” and leave it at that?
Technically there is a way to semi-“auto-salvage” gear and loot if you right click your salvage kits. I told my fiance about it and he went from whining about having to salvage everything to going right back out to farm so he could play with the auto-salvage button again.
As for the auto-selling…is it really that big a deal to find a random merchant on the map or (if you have one) go to the guild hall and sell things off? And auto-gathering sounds more like a cheat code to me than playing the game as intended.
I guess I forgot you can do that with kits. I sure do it daily with my Copper- and Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matics. (Why I put off buying those things is beyond me, btw!) Anyway, with a right click, I’m noticing a huge savings in time and it’s fun as heck to count the goodies fly by as I go through a batch.
TorsoReaper — it would be argued, I think, that any third-party program or system that expedites an in-game process might be seen as giving a player an advantage over another. If two players are farming, and one is going through the process as intended, and taking XX amount of time, while the second is using a bot or macro that free them up to resume farming, isn’t there an inherant “advantage” in that time-saving system?
I don’t use an auto-clicker. I clicked 10,000 times 2 in Guild Wars (the original) to gain two titles. I did that because while using an auto-clicker would have cut the time I spent by a huge amount, I figured spending the time was part of earning the title.
Just my two cents.
I always read that post as “don’t use macros to cast spells and slaughter people in PVP or auto farm instances” rather than simple QOL improvements to keep my carpal tunnel from flaring up. If you think I should stop, I will stop. You have access to better information than I do.
And see, you make a very good point. Time savings is very different, indeed, than having a combat advantage. I’m with you on the CPS situation — I thought my hand was going to fall off with the titles I got. I can’t say “go ahead” for the use of any third-party program, but we did expand the official messaging for clarity, which may address the differences here.

They’re worth the effort to me. I’m sure I’ve probably vendored thousands of major and minor sigils over the years. Even at 1 silver each for the major sigils, that’s a good chunk of gold.
For me, I find I get quite a bit more selling the Majors and Superiors on the TP — even if some languish for a while or don’t sell — than I would with a system that auto-vendored them. And it takes me about 2 seconds to vendor the Minors. If I can’t spare 2 seconds, I shouldn’t be taking time to play.
Some stuff is hard to code in, some stuff is extremely easy. This can be done in a day.
You really have no way of calculating the time required for such an implementation within our game code, nor do you know our prioritizations. Please avoid stating an opinion, speculation, or guess as a “fact.”
You forgot the Auto Play mastery. Just build a golem that plays the game for us. We can then login once a year to see how we’re doing.
You made me smile, but there’s a nugget in truth in there.
Love him. Love his story!
That is simply lovely! I admit to getting a tear in my eye with all the lovely shots. And the music is very nicely played in the Part 2 video. Are you also the guitarist?
Anyway, thank you for a lovely “look back.” I would love to feature this for an April show, if not this year, in the future, for April is the anniversary month of the original Guild Wars release.
Honestly, has there ever been a more beautiful area in a game than Pre-Searing Ascalon? ~sigh~

Suuuper cute, I agree! But what’s this rumor I hear about nibbling carrots while others are fighting off the baddies, hmmmm?
That is looking so good! I can’t wait to see the finished product, but I can tell it’s going to be really great.
Hey, this sounds like a ton of fun. And thanks for doing this “cross-region” so that even more players can join in one of your fun events!
Gaile, the chat filter in the forums always makes me giggle
Yes, me too. And I’m fixing it right now. I feel it’s blocking a more common term for a marginal need. Thanks for pointing it out, and sorry I missed it until today.
I’d vote pendant, so she doesn’t get smacked by some rough-edged keys. She’s too cute to risk that damage.

That is extraordinary! Thank you so much for posting it here! I <3 that little guy!
Glad you’re enjoying those. It’s fun to see what pops up, isn’t that true? I finally popped for the Royal Terrace Pass a few weeks ago… after putting that off for a few years.

checked all, got nothing in WvW.
EDIT: ah kitten , the main checkbox wasnt activated, just the smaller ones -.-
Oh cool, I’m glad you got that working for you. I think I’ll edit the topic so it’s a question, not a bug.
It’s an interesting idea. I wonder if it would be one of those things where one person would want things organized a certain way, where someone else would prefer a different sorting. I know how much I appreciate the “compact” option, so sorting is an intriguing idea.
Update 2/28/2017: A few days ago, we became aware that Play for Free accounts were inadvertently being given access to a Level 80 boost and a shared inventory slot, content normally reserved for players who purchase Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. We temporarily disabled these features in order to work on resolving the issue. Now that we’ve ascertained that the features are functioning as they should, we are re-enabled the Level 80 boost and the shared inventory slot for players who purchase Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. The Play For Free accounts that were given the untended features will be allowed to retain them. We appreciate your patience as we addressed the situation, and extend our thanks to those who reported it.

Let me be transparent about this. Someone posted asking for us to provide him with some 3D models. You responded with an extremely negative and entirely off-topic comment about a perceived (and non-factual) “lack of communication.” The comment was removed because it was reported. It was reported because it was both off-topic and derailing to the thread in question.
Questions about moderation should be addressed to the forums team by writing Forums@Arena.Net. As is made clear in frequent posts and in our Forum Code of Conduct.
Incidentally, you were given neither points nor penalty with the removal of your post, and were given a detailed reasoning for its removal. Any further question may be addressed via an e-mail to the above-cited address. However, I would sincerely hope that this detailed explanation will end the discussion.
Please read the Content Terms of Use (See “Legal Documents” below) to ensure that your project meets our legal requirements and follows copyright law. As the CToU outlines, you may forward any questions to the appropriate e-mail address. As far as your request, at this time we have no plans to expand our Media assets but you can keep your eye on that section in the event we do offer more in the future. Thank you.
Yes, ,as nottsgman posted, we are still working on this and will get that boost for you as soon as we can! Thanks for your patience.
We’ll be making a game update on Wednesday, February 22 that will include skill balancing. Members of our skills and balance team will be on the official forums for a while after the build goes live to discuss those changes with you.
To take part, please join the new thread we’ll post after the build goes live. For our players who participate on the French, German, or Spanish forums, we will provide a list of highlights from the conversation by the end of the week.
Special guest: Alina Chadwick, Content Programmer, Living World Team

Continued praise and sincere gratitude to all the talented artists who contributed to the show and who keep our forums and our Tumblr pages lively. Keep that art coming, folks!
If you share here, great! Sharing on the forums means you have given us permission to feature the art. If you’re sharing on Tumblr, please always use the hashtag “#GW2 Fan Submission” to ensure we can showcase your art!
Special Note: We love all forms of art, but are particularly hoping to see some more videos or trailers and some musical pieces. If you’re a videographer, a trailer maker, or a musician, please consider sharing your work so that I, in turn, can share it on the show.
We’ll announce the March show date sometime in early March.

Hope you enjoy — lots of great art to see!
Many thanks for the shout out, you guys really show love to your community and we appreciate it.

Hey, it was a pleasure. You’re doing great work!
I am going to be giving this video a call-out during today’s Community Showcase Live stream. I highly recommend this video!
Today’s February 15th, so we hope to see you on the Live Stream.
Alternately, give the show a watch at your convenience starting tomorrow on YouTube.
I’m delighted to say that due to the initiative of a Guild Wars 2 fan, the artist has become aware of my request to share with us, and says she will do so. This means we should be able to feature the music in an upcoming Community Showcase Live show! (That will mean March or later.)
Thanks to whomever reached out to her!
Moved to Raids sub-forum. Title changed to reflect intentions of the thread.
Please do not use “clickbait” titles in the future. Thank you.
Last evening, an update note shared information about this quest line:
I believe that addresses one of the main concerns—having to do both sides of the event—and it appears that forum members have shared some strategy ideas, as well. If there are additional concerns, please post to let us know, but from my perspective, it appears that the changes coupled with the play-through advice should address most of them. Thanks.
This issue has been addressed, and Jade Shards now can be obtained from Jade Fragments.

I thought you preferred frogs?
Well, I have a lot of things I love: Cats, Frogs, Bats, Owls… I am fond of a lot of creatures. Frogs hold a special place in my heart, it’s true. <3
Anet is all about the cats….
Just use a swear word on the forums and you will see for yourself.
Absolutely and unquestionably true! What other company in the gaming industry — in the world — has a Kittenizer?
Join me on Wednesday, February 15th, at Noon Pacific on our Twitch Channel for our fan art program. Special dev guest will be programmer Alina Chadwick!
The show is reverting to the old “live” format, rather than “live in chat” so forgive my various flubs or muffles on the names and such. We have all sorts of great art to share with you: music, crafts, visual art, video — we will run the gamut!
So grab your lunchbox if you’re West Coast, take a break if you’re on the East Coast, or settle in for some evening viewing if you’re over in Europe. The show runs about 40 minutes, and we’ll have it on YouTube later in the week.
We look forward to seeing you on Twitch or YouTube!

Gaile, if your being held hostage by “the cat”, just wave 3 times to any player in game. I am sure someone can hide you out in their guild hall until it’s safe. ;-)
I think I’ll be ok. After all, I control the Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers supply, as kitty has not figured out how to open the pantry door or pop a can lid.
Due to an potential exploit related to drops from Jade Fragments, we have temporarily disabled the drop of Jade Shards from the fragments. Players may continue to mine Jade Fragments for Unbound Magic and Bloodstone Dust, but will not get Jade Shards until we have addressed the issue. Thanks for your understanding.

There was a time when ArenaNet used to call out people who would post on Reddit claiming to be the “innocent victim” of a false suspension. Someone would claim “I just got a 1 week suspension… I’ve never said anything bad in chat… other players are just griefing me… ArenaNet just bans people who get multiple reports, without investigating anything!” Then someone from ArenaNet would come along and post the chat log from that person in all its uncensored glory and retort with “THIS is what got you suspended. Questions?”
And that, right there, was one of the most glorious moments of my career at ArenaNet. I think it was particularly funny because quite a few members of the community know me, and know I’m not the sort of spew nasty language. So when I posted up the comments, it was pretty clear, even with judicious use of asterisks, that I was pulling straight from the logs.
It was hilarious to see people get shut down like that, and it showed that ArenaNet does indeed investigate and take action on those verbal abuse reports.
Keep in mind that ArenaNet usually starts people out with a 1 – 3 day suspension at first (they might even get just a warning before that), and it may take up to a week or more between when you submit your report and when they have a chance to act on it.
I’m pretty sure they do take action. But their actions on specific incidents aren’t always immediate or visible to us.
Believe me, reports are read, and we have a team on board 24/7/365. That doesn’t guarantee that the team member will respond exactly as you desire, for they try to look at things objectively, and we tend to forgive an occasional “slip of the tongue.” Still, we do take action on offensive chat and will continue to do so, in the interests of keeping the game pleasant for everyone.
You also are welcome to send individual reports to the team. Best to include the exact day, time, and precise spelling of the offending player’s character or display name, to offer the most effective report.
I agree with others: Canach is great. (I miss [that other Sylvari who shall not be named to avoid spoilers], though.
As the OP noted (and thank you so much for updating your post!), changes were made to the boss encounter. Please read the update notes for more information.
Aerlen — Please read the notes for our update this evening. I think you will be pleased. Thanks.
We discovered an issue on the Lake Doric map and rolled out a correction this evening. We wanted to let you know that players who achieved 100% map completion in Lake Doric prior to this evening’s hotfix will need to redo the New Loamhurst and Doric’s Landing hearts in that region in order to re-acquire map complete. You can do that any time after the next global reset, which takes place daily at 4:00 PM Pacific time. Please note that redoing the two hearts will not give you a second map completion reward, but it will fill in the map and indicate your accomplishment.
Guys — we’re aware of your concerns. Thank you for sharing. We’ll lock this thread now (after a little cleanup).
What a great initiative — I love this idea! (And it is coming together very nicely, too!)
I am going to try to give the The Krytan Herald a shout-out on Community Showcase Live in February. If we run short on time, in March for sure!
Thanks for doing this, Fornax — it’s marvelous.
That is truly gorgeous. And I found another I love as well, by a different artist.
As far as I know, we would need the artist to share their work on our Tumblr page or on this forum in order for us to feature them on Community Showcase Live. You’re perfectly fine to link to them, I was hoping to show them off more, though, and I think I cannot without them essentially giving us permission to do so via a share on our pages.
Thanks, though — I really enjoyed hearing this!
Hey all,
As you know, we released Episode 4 of Living World Season 3 — Head of the Snake — today. As always, communications team members will be gathering feedback from players on all aspects of the release and will share it with the entire studio. Members of the dev team also will be reading your input, as well.
This is our official feedback thread, as we’ve created for each episode this season. And as normal, we’d like to use this thread to gather your high-level input. Sooo…
After you have played through the episode, please share your overall thoughts on Episode 4.
Please keep it to 50 words or fewer in this thread, offering your top-level overall impression here. More detailed analysis or feedback would be more than welcome in alternative threads and you can rest assured such comments will also be read. I hasten to add there’s no need to rush through the content, we’ll be reading this thread for a week or more.
Thank you for sharing, and I hope you have a great time in the game!
