dudes, they are a priority, but you cannot expect anet to deal with each individual report as the only mechanism of combating the bots. this is why you don’t really see the bots you have reported a thousand times disappearing.
based on my own experience in eve online, what they might be doing is gathering data on bot detection. once enough data is compiled, can they take one big fatal sweep of account bans. once that sweep is done, any bots that use the previously detected methods will be automatically detected and dealt with, while the team continues gathering more data to combat the next round of bots.
it’s a forever war that can’t really be won, only mitigated.
would be cool, even just as a portal for causal players to find the server’s own internal forums.
t3 armor would be a lot less cool if 30g was the buyout price. i, for one, can afford that right now. i am in no way cool enough, so i hope they keep the high price.
do you really want tons of people running around with t3 armor? i don’t.
that’s like asking why do people play games like counter strike: source? or more interestingly, why do people play cs 1.6?
cuz it’s fun. it’s not about the gear grind that you seem to want, but fun.
fun.
the high price serves to make that armor more desirable. nobody right now has a full set of t3, unless they are that crazy.
as they are cosmetic only, i think it’s fair. players can easily get the stats they need, but if they want to look “super cool”, then they’ll have to work for it. i think it’s a good system.
they are pretty aggressive, but it’s for the best. go check out other MMO forums, and you’ll see what i mean.
i think they should be buffed, but 20x is pretty extreme. all that would do is just be rather irritating.
they can use a mesmer portal.
what i want to see is the use of the golem in defense. during BWE3, we took a tower with 2 golems, but they got pretty beat up in the process. the guild in charge of the operation left the tower, leaving the 2 golems behind. a guildmate and i decided to wait for the eventual zerg to take the tower back, and we hopped into the golems despite them having 20% health.
when the gate fell, we each popped that defensive bubble, and did that spinning maneuver. i saw several 20k hits occur, and i’m sure several enemy were instantly downed if not killed. furthermore, it was just hilarious to meet a massive zerg in that manner. i wonder what could have happened had we had a ballista or two supporting, and full health.
how is there no point to spvp, simply because you have all the tools that you need to compete?
here is a really crazy notion – prepare yourself: what if people played spvp to get better at it, and skill, instead of gear, is the only measure of success?
woah, what am i thinking? sorry about this.
devona’s rest and kaineng are winning the moral war right now. you should join one of them.
i don’t expect much, aside from the forums being a bit cleaner for exactly 3 weeks. once the night elves and orcs rush to clear out the expansion content, and post a bit on the blizzard forums how there is no endgame, will they maybe return and we’ll be right back where we are right now.
how is there not any incentive for a guild to play WvW? here is one incentive: it’s pretty fun to work with your guild to capture objectives.
i hope this crazy realization helps.
sometimes i run back to previously defended locations to reactivate the siege in fear of this.
if only there was some place you could go that is in the opposite direction of the server transfer zerglings. gosh, there must be some way to find a place where there aren’t any queues, a place where the inhabitants would appreciate any additional organized force.
it’s a valid tactic that requires a lot of coordination. most groups cannot pull this off.
if you are on devona without a guild, then it’s not going to be fun for you. either join one, or just move on. no offense, but the only thing that hurts devona or kaineg is organized groups leaving, not individuals.
so much insane hostility to an honest post. are you guys going to be really angry when they figure out how to reward dolyak runs?
i agree that the reward is supplying the destination, but is it wrong to reward karma for things when it is warranted?
the idea is to discourage karma farming in wvw, but not to remove rewards entirely. wvw isn’t just for level 80’s in full exotic gear.
world versus world.
exploring the many many many areas you haven’t seen.
ignoring the old gear treadmill, and playing for fun (crazy i know).

zintair has a point, but i don’t feel the OP is stomping his feet as you say.
i myself use a full khilborn set, but am considering using power/precision/crit damage trinkets to compensate for the lack of raw damage. while i mostly use death shroud as an escape and extra buffer during wvw, you cannot deny that power helps death shroud immensely.
a bit longer actually means more than an hour of a wait. and you are straight up lying if you feel devona’s is empty in wvw during prime time.
it isn’t. we took our garrison and all related towers last night. nobody was there, it just happened on its own. totally empty.
reward people from going high pop to low pop, and punish people who do the opposite. better yet, lock all high population servers. pretty simple.
if they only gave reward when the yak destination actually needs supplies, then the situation would resolve itself.
also they could diminish the reward if more than 10 people are guarding it, because that’s just silly.
level 80 necromancer, and i’m at a level 8 happiness. once the necro bugs are dealt with, it’ll be a 9. if they add condition damage, toughness, and precision gear to the tailoring profession, then i would be a 10. right now any condition mancer is forced to karma or dungeon farm, or spend a ton on the khilborn set (of which the boots seem to be out of stock!).
yeah, take mickey’s advise and transfer to the top 3 winning servers. you’ll never get to play within a reasonable time in the wvw, but you’ll be winning!!!
devona’s isn’t that bad. i’m there. i’ve done all the events on cursed shore with random people, and have done them with guild members as well. wvw is fun, even though we lose. no queues, a small tight knit community, and great fights to be had.
have fun on henge of denravi, i guess.
i’ve never had a repair cost problem, and i play on the 2nd worst server. sure, sometimes i’ll suicide myself and incur a small loss in funds, but most of the times, you make money if you fight effectively.
your post essentially translates to “where is my gear grind?”
good grief.
the game is far from “deplorable”. please learn to make appropriate titles. yeah, there are some messed up skill points, but do you have any idea just how huge the game area is? is it really that big of a deal? i went go to level 80, and i can remember maybe 2 skill point areas that were bugged, along with a similar number of events that couldn’t be started or finished. not exactly the biggest deal, especially when you consider the size and scope of the gaming area.
devona’s has a PVE problem too, but i’ve still managed to at least clear the gate of arah event, killing the eye of zhaitan. you just have to do it during the prime time, so don’t let this aspect discourage you.
plus if your guild has over 10 guys, what is the problem? with 10 coordinated guys, you can take care of most events on cursed shore.

good work, soldier of kaineng. your devona’s rest brothers are proud of you.
if you guys see a DR player /waving you, trust he is part of this non-aggression pact. i had a sweet dance party with some kaineng comrades earlier today due to this.
i just want to say that i was one of the DR guys in pangloss on a ballista last night. it was hilarious! good job on eventually taking us out. i’m sorry that it diverted you guys away from stonemist, but honestly, that was hardly our intent. there wasn’t any strategy involved in our holding it. trust that we were just having a good time.
i do admit that we seemed to be pushing you guys when we should have all gone to borlis. the funny thing is, when we tried to go to borlis pass borderlands en masse, we all crashed and were locked out of the game for 15-20 minutes!
i’m not in FIST, btw. just relaying what i observed.
i agree, OP. most of the threads on these forums are just hilarious. it’s like people want to spend 2 weeks grinding their brains out, speed running dungeons to get “dat gear”. they do this in literally every game, and wonder why they never have fun, ever.
as i said it is hilarious, but it also just pathetic.
dueling should be included because it would be fun, and seemingly not hard to implement.
the only mount that i would deem acceptable would be centered around social activity. this would be a guild mount that doesn’t move any faster than normal movement speed, but has enough seats for a full party.
it would be hilarious.

yes preeze. my shoulders and helmet look so bad. i hide them for a reason!
sorry, but this is ridiculous. also, just so you know, there is evidence that “you can see”. you were taught this in high school, but you purposely ignored it, just as you purposely try to get offended.
if you don’t believe me, wiki “peppered moth evolution”.
lol. but really, by bringing up the subject of evolution into your discussion, you have condemned this thread to be locked up.

i, too, come from eve online, and spend way too much time at the TP (or as i like to say, in Jita).
i would love something like this. give us a top hat and a monocle!
i don’t understand anyone who thinks it’s not an “artistic” area. there are some areas, especially around the bodies of water, that have some amazing and creepy structures. one that really stood out to me was the huge statue of that demonic looking guy, next to that even larger stargate looking thing.
it’s hard to notice these things because you are constantly attacked by the risen, but i’ve encountered moments where i just stood there taking screen shots.
i just really like the desolate feel of the area, i suppose.
would be cool if there was a “barber” we could pay for recustomization. gems or gold, i don’t care, but this does need to be implemented soon.
they may have a “medium population” but that entire population is in wvw. their queues reflect this, and resemble a higher population server.
as a condition mancer, i use DS mostly as an escape and an additional buffer. i also use it to do more direct damage to mobs when the zerg is big in an event, as we all know the issues with condition damage in such situations.
in WvW, DS has saved me many many times. and even in a full condition build, i feel that it still does decent damage. i also love dark path used with fear. you can blink to a target, chill him, then fear him in the direction he doesn’t want to go. it’s incredibly powerful.
for me, wvw is my end game. you claim your server is completely one sided… perhaps you could join a smaller population server, and help build it up into something cool?
join a smaller population server. less zerg, and the people that have the motivation to play on a smaller server are usually more individually skilled.
war isn’t a sport, nor is it fair. see you in the heart of the mists.
i was there, with commander jones! it was hilarious at the time, but in retrospect, it’s kind of disturbing how flagrant the botting behavior was.
these people.. they… they have no decency!
i skimmed your post, and saw the words “grind” over and over again. i think anet just wants you to play the game and stuff. pretty crazy concept, i know.
i agree OP. even worse, on my server sometimes everyone refuses to continue the chain beyond the shelter and point north of it, favoring to simply farm those 2 areas endlessly.
it blows my mind.

there should definitely be a report guild name option. i’ve seen guild names that i can’t even repeat here, but didn’t report them for the reasons you have listed.
i didn’t read any of the posts in this thread fully, instead i scanned them for negative emotional responses. given the high frequency of these emotions, i would say that the tactic of camping the jumping puzzle to be effective.
it’s called denying the enemy. completing the puzzle gives you siege prints, among other things. it’s a valid tactic that you should try to get used to.
