The Praetorians [PRAE] is a newly formed guild focusing on creating havoc squads for wvw roaming. This is the perfect guild for players looking for new and dynamic wvw play style for SoR. PRAE also focuses on guild events and sPvP tournament game play weekly. We pay a lot of attention to our players and hope to get the most out of what a guild has to offer. If you are a wvw player looking for a way to play with some of the best havoc squaders on SoR than PRAE is a good home for you. Check out our website at prae.shivetr.com or PM me in game for any interest!
Thanks
~Graey
Lords of Krampus has now merged with Praetorians [Prae] as a fully functional wvw squad guild. If you like wvw but hate zerging constantly come help us roam the map!
Pm me in game for invite!
I would rather see a new water zone with submarine “mounts.”
ah thanks, I feel this information wasn’t put out there enough as I had no idea this system had changed. In any case, it makes more sense to have one currency for all of these now and also that black lion tickets are available as drops.
So now black lion scraps are dropping to make the black lion ticket. I noticed at the black lion vendor all past sets are available from black lion tickets albeit it takes more. Are we now able to get any of these sets? Will black lion tickets drop in every new world event?
My guild will focus on roaming squads in wvw making our server a more well rounded one. Focusing on flipping camps, npc events, tapping on enemy keeps, making sure supply is flowing, temples for bloodlust, stomping, and creating general havoc for our enemies. We will be an elite force of a few good players.
bump! looking for some good roaming wvwr’s for squads. pm me in game for invite!
bump, still need recruits. Pm me in game!
Here is a little sketch I did at work of a hairstyle I would love to have for my sylvari. I do like the bud hair Kristen Perry (tarzen/rockstar) which is what I have currently. This one I like because my sylvari I tried to make all hard wood and some roots curling back from head would be cool.
I think I want my guild to focus on breaking up into squads focusing on wvw and letting the bigger guilds zerg around the map. This way I want to have wvw players that would actually rather run around with a smaller group flipping and doing temples for bloodlust buff. These players might be good at spvp as well, since they generally know how to fight better or use their skills best to help a small group. I also want to refrain from TS or any com being mandatory. Sometimes people just want to eat doritos and watch blade runner while playing, not listen to commanders all day telling them what to do or where to go. I know coms can be an advantage in wvw and dungeons, but it starts to get where the coms become their own competitive place for hardcore gamers to just be elitists. In my guild, I want to have the option to listen to commanders, but it shouldn’t be mandatory I don’t think—is it really that hard to whisper someone or just map chat?
I recently created my own guild for casual game play and mostly wvw squading and crafting. It is small but we already have four commanders. I hate spamming in map chat and also whispering to people with seemingly no guild. I’ve posted on these forums with little reply.
Is there any other way I am missing to get more people interested in my guild? How would you spam on map chat in the best and most efficient way? I’m on SoR and if anyone can help me it would be great.
Thanks
For the Sylvari.
I agree in that there needs to be some sort of in game map allowing players to take points that don’t just end every two weeks. Many people have little conviction as everyone knows in two weeks you will just start over, and how many people are really vested or even pay attention to the wvw ranking system—the only reference to who is winning.
I think if they did something like this they should make a new zone on the server where any guild can vie for control of a central keep. The elder scrolls online will have this sort of pvp implemented, and I can see way more conviction as the map is always an ongoing battle. To keep massive guilds from always occupying this zone, there would probably need to be a smaller limit to how many of your guild can enter in—such as a limit of 30 or so guild players.
Two more slots on the UI screen would be good enough for players to be able to slot consumables and perhaps boosters. Perhaps even pets. The thing is many players forget to consume for buffs and it would just be nice to be able to see some items that you want to slot.
Your theory is interesting. I had previously thought the five dragons represented corruptions, or more specifically “transformations” exhibited in elements of nature—crystal/electricity/energy or in fantasy sometimes air, undead/life, ice/water, lava/earth, water or maybe krait, and perhaps a hidden sixth transformation. Perhaps not specifically only a corruption, but an actual observed cycle exhibited in nature. Your suspicion on primordus isn’t just speculation though—can he not create “the destroyers”, minions from rock and lava, and aren’t Krait believed perhaps to be minions of the Deep Sea Dragon?
To extrapolate on your theory take the entrance to The Crucible of Eternity as perhaps a clue.

nice art! Very cool Idea
I think instead of bloodlust buff, everyone on your world gets a wvw mount.
some believe pale tree and the Sylvari’s existence is because of a dragon’s corruption upon the earth. Primarily the dragon in the starting zone, one of a plant elemental.
Captain’s Platter
On my mesmer I always rotate between my GS and Staff spawning only phantasms. So when I let my berzerker go I automatically switch to staff and spawn iwarlockittenep spawning them as they die in the fastest order of spawn. All of this while keeping my aoe’s on target as they come up.
Why not necro? You’ll be way tougher than ele but still a ranged caster class.
They should just make Karma the main currency for everything and get rid of a lot of other things. Such as make Karma vendors that sell new world event gear, wvw gear, ascended gear and everything else. Just make unlockable vendors for each world event and perhaps ascended gear—make new stuff and ascended worth a lot of karma so players can choose where they want to spend it. I have so much karma right now and nothing to do with it.
I think it must have dropped from WvW chest, as those I usually don’t have time to check what i’m looting so probably missed it.
Also, are the wvw ascended infusions worth it?
Yes some dude was talking to his pet cat for about an hour, no one was role playing with him though lol
Was about to log and watching tv going through bags when I found a grizzlemouth weapon chest!?? I almost erased it too because my keyboard is so sensitive. I don’t remember where or when it dropped—Twighlight Arbor new dungeon maybe?
I got Grizzlemouth’s Spire and it’s pretty beast. I just wanted to share that it dropped and usually nothing this rare drops for me. . .pretty good surprise in my bags.
Anyone know how rare this is? Or best thing I should infuse it with? I only have one other ascended item the red ring of death and haven’t even begun to farm ascended stuff.
I vote mesmer as well. You can find thiefes and guardians in other mmo’s, you can’t find mesmers.
My wife plays and she also played wow for a long time. The nostalgia of wow is hard to beat for some but I think GW2 is what she would have to go to if not wow. The quality of the game and design is enough for you guys to forget about holy trinity, plus you get dodge role which my wife thinks is so cool. There is sort of a blurred holy trinity and you get plenty of proffesion customization. Plus the last event Twighlight Arbor had an end boss which made me almost feel like I was playing wow again. You do want the tanky proffs trying to get aggro and there are plenty of mechanics for heals. The auction house is great although it seems a lot harder than wow to me, which your wife might like. It does take time to get used to I think but since launch the game has grown on me even more.

Small havoc guild forming on SoR [LOK] Lords of Krampus
pm me in game if you are interested
If you want something different our new guild on SoR [LOK] Lords of Krampus is trying to build a guild focused on havoc squads flipping and taking new bloodlust buff. We are pretty casual and still small but already have three commanders. It would be great to have someone who could train in spvp style our havoc squad so that we can stay alive and efficiently stomp enemies! If you are interested, we are exploring the new idea of the bloodlust stomping aspect of gameplay and could use your input.
pm me in game at Greyalis.2309
hiya, you should join my new guild [LOK] Lords of Krampus on SoR. Me and some friends are trying to build a casual wvw guild that focuses on smaller havoc squad groups running around the map. We already have three commanders and you can casually run around with us and stomp enemies whenever ya want. I would love to also start doing fractals in the meantime for ascended gear and you could help us with that if you are interested!
pm me whenever on SoR in game at Greyalis.2309
Join my guild [LOK] Lords of Krampus on SoR. We are just starting up and need people who are interested in havoc squad roaming and taking temples for bloodlust. We are totally rage free and you don’t have to worry about ts or following commander zergs night after night. pm me in game if interested and i’ll send ya an invite!

Hey I currently created a guild that is built for exactly what you are looking for. We are small but are growing with three commanders already. We mostly focus on small havoc groups running around flipping stuff and trying to keep bloodlust buff for sor. The guild is Lords of Krampus [LOK] and we could use you and your buddy for sure!
Perhaps just make new 80+ zone for mounts. I’m thinking geared more towards players that want to explore and do high end crafting in end game. Make a small city at the beginning of the map where players can show off mounts. Maybe a giant labyrinth, sort of like fractals but it’s a huge map with little or no wps.
I propose that wintersday dev team consider that Krampus would be the perfect winter holiday boss for any mmo and here are some reasons.
~Krampus is the Alpine Yule Demon going back a long time that was basically St. Nicholas’s counterpart and punished the bad children while St. Nicholas rewarded the good ones. He would use a piece of birch wood to whip them, or kidnap them if they were really bad. A new hunt for this monster, or perhaps even dungeon would be a fun concept.
~He looks like a Charr. He is furry with claws and has horns on his head. If a character was implemented it could simply be a scary kitten charr with hooves. He actually appears more like a messed up goat or satyr, but it would be easy to see how he would work out in the gw2 universe.
~He is widely known and perhaps somewhat of a trendy figure among history and monster lovers, but not so popular that he is too cliche. Like bosses such as the headless horseman and the mad king, he is a perfect symbol for his holiday and would be a loved and feared character in the gw2 world.
~It’s cool when holiday events in any mmo use real world references in unique ways and I’m sure many would like to see Krampus reinvented for gw2.
~Loot or gear sets could be birch wood concepts. I’m imagining a berch wood staff very gnarled with snow flake particle effects and perhaps a mini Krampus.
I may be biased as my guild is Lords of Krampus lol. I’m just saying that if I was a dev, I would love to create this concept.
Here are some popular interpretations of the demon.
anyone..?
Tired of running the same big zerg train day after day? If you are, Lords of Krampus on SoR focuses on small squads of 5 to 8 players flipping stuff and keeping bloodlust buff for SoR. We leave the big zergs up to the larger guilds while helping them by keeping bloodlust and causing general havoc for our enemies all over the map.
We will also try to spike as many enemies that cross our path once we have bloodlust and will practice skirmishing in wvw as well as spvp. The need for these squads is now viable, and our main SoR wvw guilds need our help while they zerg around the map.

Tired of running the same big zerg train on wvw day after day?
LOK Lords of Krampus is a primarily squad based wvw guild looking to create some good squads for SoR. We need people on SoR at are looking for a casual wvw guild and players that like to run in small groups of 5 to 8 people. We will be doing a lot of squad work thus focusing on helping SoR with capturing and maintaining bloodlust buff and need players who like to skirmish and stomp enemies! Once we have bloodlust we will also help with flipping points while trying to spike as many opponents as possible. Good players would be able to stay alive and do some decent damage to opponents and perhaps spvp would be good training as well. We are not a hsuge zerg focused guild as we see this as left for the bigger guilds, but want to help SoR in other much needed ways.
Krampus is the ancient demon and yule lord of Christmas and we want to create a somewhat important and funny demonic presence on SoR server. Please PM me for an invite to Lord of Krampus [lok] on Sanctum of Rall if you are interested in helping this guild grow! Lets put our finishers to good use and spike as many bad guys as possible.
Another WvW suggestion that was moved to the general suggestion forums and will be buried 10 pages down within 24 hours.
Thank you and sorry. I thought this was a forum for gw2 enthusiasts to write stuff. Next time I will have something totally original and game changing.
why it’s “tequito”
So that we can assign our own meaning and objectives to tags on the map within our guilds or world.
This gives us ability to partition our commanders to whatever we want, including main zergs, havoc squads, and ruins of power.
How about three: Blue, Purple, Orange
Another option would be to simply allow commanders to change color of their tag. This way guilds and worlds can on a need to basis create purpose and objective of colors.
How about just changing the color of your tag, that would be enough.
An elegant solution as well Chris!
Then guilds or even worlds can decide how to best use the colors of tags in the way they want to structure it and perhaps assign objectives.
This would perhaps solve the problem of people abusing or misusing a specific tag purpose and would be an as needed tag to be used within server strategy.
The only thing is the neat specialization of having a Lieutenant Commander tag.
Another idea would be to have guild rewards or upgrades that give GM’s permission to hand out specialized tags, colors, or even titles that would act as commander tags on map. This way only serious wvw guilds have ability to create these other tags.
hmmm no
I understand what your saying, but practical you are assuming people will act as you wish. This is however an MMO and human nature will dictate that this will be just a cheaper version off the commander tag, but wont change a thing bout the zerg size. Zergs are as big as the amount of people that want to follow. A commander doesnt have a lot of influence either. If he feels a zerg is too big he can only dismantle the zerg by taking the commander icon off, wait atleast 15 minutes and then start with a fresh zerg.So a lt. Commander wont have much influence on the size either.
I understand your unhappyness with the zerg, but this wont solve it.
You are assuming that control of other players following you is outside of your servers control and guild control which is only the case some of the time with unorganized players. My guild commanders all communicate what there objective is and our guild follows their lead. Our commanders also communicate with all other commanders from other guilds on map, so everyone that plays wvw on a nightly basis knows what they are supposed to be doing.
This is simply a structural implementation that betters already existing guild structures to be used for defining our squads. If human nature can dictate that it will be an abuse than these players simply won’t be catered to by the serious players. Thats how it is in my guild and my world anyway.
Anet has also said that this kind of update is in the works, just no due date.
(edited by Greyalis.2309)
I opt for sooner rather than later, especially now with some of the discord between taking keeps and defending ruins of power. Hopefully, they would soon implement something like this with a living world update. I myself prefer to do small squad roaming and something like this would organize some of the stuff guilds are now battling to contemplate within squad structure. It doesn’t seem to big a change, just make the tag available and that is all.
