They should just implement a new Commander Tag that allows commanders to choose color of their tag. That way we can just pick the color we want and our server will come to recognize tag color.

That couldn’t be that hard to implement!

I’m about to get enough guild commendations for a new trinket. I mostly play wvw so am debating whether I should keep going with the power>precision gear for my berzerker phantasm mesmer, or go with something with more toughness? So either power>precision piece or power>toughness.

I already have two ascended rings for power>precision (ring of red death, and crystalline band) now I just have to figure out if I should keep doing these stats or go more toughness. . .

Recruitment is actually going at a perfect pace. We probably get about two new guidlies a week and every one of them good players that seem very active. Currently we pretty much around one group of 8 to ten or two groups of five every night and it has been perfect.

Every Tuesday evening The Praetorians [PRAE] will be hosting a wvw small unit tactic meet up. We will also be splitting up into groups and roaming the maps helping SoR in wvw. We will meet up in LA around Fort Marriner in front of Asuran wvw gates around 5 server time.

We will meet and discuss, and raid call you may want although it is not required as we will be partying up. If you are interested in joining the new guild we will also be evaluating prospective players that want to join!

We aren’t against any other professions though, and atm are forming a third squad that can roam on SoR. Please help SoR and our larger guilds by joining us and being part of Havoc and Temple squads!

We know that Black Gate and others have benefited from these new Squad guilds and we hope to help SoR. With the new Temples and bloodlust being a must in close games, even with the T1 meta blobs, this is a viable need for our server. Let the big zergs do what they do best, but join us for multiple roaming groups that can truly create havoc for our enemies!

How are havocs functioning with fully qued zergs on T1 servers? Even before the pver influx it was too zergy.

When you say havoc do you mean capping camps and avoiding zergs? If I remember correctly, most of the roamers are in the mid to bottom servers.

Yes I mean that. BG already has roaming groups/havoc squads stealing bloodlust and flipping camps, and they have proven that it has helped them — even with the T1 blob meta. The only problem with the pve influx is wait time to get in maps.
The additional boost from the introduction of ruins has given new extrapolations to consider. Roaming in T1 is very similar to lower tiers and perhaps there is a difference in that T1 roamers need to watch out for zergs that might run them over, but given their usual location, that happens only very rarely—zergs have better things to do than chasing after us.

It’s great that you specified a havoc wvwvw usage to help narrow things down.
I think Hihey’s build is basically right for that usage: 20/20/20/0/0 being the basic format, and then add the last 10 where it plays best for you.

I work with a always running, hit and run group (mainly because we’re always outnumbered)

30/20/20/0/0 works best for me, trying to maximize burst from the iZerker.
Specific Traits:
Dom: +15% Illusion Damage, Crippling Dissipation (Helps me escape), Greatsword training.
Duel: Long-reaching Manipulation (For Blink), Deceptive evasion
Chaos: Manipulation Recharge reduction (For Blink), Staff Training

Mobility is primary, so 2 traits for super-blink, and Sup. Travelers runes.

Power always the primary stat on everything, as both GS and Staff scale well with power, and power=burst=hit and run.

PTV karma armor to stay alive, Berserkers trinkets for hitting hard.

Staff sigil is superior blood for heal on crit. I’m sitting at 40+ crit chance, and with a chaos storm or iZerk, I’m getting close to regen boon numbers during fights.

Greatsword sigil I don’t really know, thinking maybe air, but currently bloodlust.

Food power first. Rotate skill bar skills as needed (veil, portal, TW, mass invis, the one for rezzing, etc)

Honestly, once your staff skill muscle memory on the keys gets up, it’s a super strong build. Definite 1v1 wins, can keep 2 busy for a long while, and can run at 1v3.

For Greatsword I like sigil of intellegence—swap to it and get higher crit damage.

What a horrible gear!
No “oh kitten” utility to save yourself. No stunbreak.
Those 15 points into chaos seems a bit wasted to me.

I’d give that build a 4/10. Unless you run with a group of 10+ people you will have a hard time just staying alive. And even then, if you get focused you will last 5 seconds at best.

Theres more to it than you are seeing I think. The points in Chaos at 5 points gives 10 seconds of regeneration when you reach 75% health with a 30 second cooldown, which complements the traits in Inspiration. If you put 15 points into Chaos, that gives you 3 seconds of protection when you gain regeneration—and you are getting even more regeneration from mantras with inspiration points. So you have a lot of regen and protection. Not to mention the added toughness from chaos you are pretty durable if you play right. I squaded last night with this build and had no problem getting around enemies—even stomped a few.

Basically you don’t get gs training, but instead you get much toughness and also 15% more damage for phantasms with Inspiration line. this synergizes well with a squad mesmer for toughness and booning your allies while having decent damage. Also with using mantras you get heals for you and allies as and also regen and protection from dueling line.

I see the conflict in GS/Staff build although I must say I have found one build I am dabbling in. Phantasm/hybrid build focusing a little more on crit percentage and damage with a little toughness. The idea is to build up your phantasms as much as possible with stats and boons. In this philosophy the staff is great for booning your phantasms or in my case also my squad of about 5 to 10 people. Instead of opting to stat for power this build is more about utilizing inspiration traits to give phantasms a little more damage while balancing gear with crit stats.

I warlock does fall short but even at zero condition damage it can put out decent damage with power. Even saying this, the iwarlock as I now understand doesn’t work off of your condition damage stats but simply amount of conditions ON your target—that being said hopefully my squad/group will have done a lot of the work for me. Plus the staff gives me perks to buff squad.

So basically looking at it as a hybrid I see it as i’m stating for GS and staff is mainly for utility and not damage. If anything it’s a good thing to get away when cornered also.

check out this build and let me know your thoughts about using GS/Staff combo with it. It’s a beautiful wvw squad build I think.
