Lieutenant Commander Tag for WvW?

WvW should implement a Lieutenant Commander Tag.

Lieutenant Commanders would be useful for leading smaller squads for havoc roaming, and perhaps new ruins of power squads.

The problem is that the need for smaller squads is growing and these squads need to be defined more on world basis. Implementing another rank tag would allow players to partition themselves easier to these smaller squads all over the map while Commanders lead the larger zergs.

Now players can choose how they want to lead and also who they want to follow. People who want to be a part of a large main zerg and take towers can follow commanders, but people who want to be a part of a smaller squad can now follow these new Lieutenant Commanders.

Lieutenant Commanders can have as many followers that want to follow, but large zergs are not there purpose and Lieutenant Commanders should be aware of this and divide players accordingly.

The Tag could be bought for 100 gold as is the current Commander Tag or perhaps even bought with wxp experience.

Here is an example of what the new tag could look like. It could be anything but I thought a purple diamond for some reason.

Just wondering if I am going to be able to fight tequatle with a lower level alt or do we need to be 40+ ?

I’m thinking there will be rewards for beating him as well as perhaps meta events, perhaps meta events will be doable but I’m sure downing tequatle will be one of those achievements so will we need to be of that areas level?

The dragon does look a little off from original sunless concept. I imagine they simply used this art anyway because it looked really cool. I would be happy with a different dragon or world boss update for every new world event from here on out—just give us new and different temporary dragons or monsters every update would be awesome I think, just have them drop rare items and tokens for new gear vendors.

The font is awesome and am wondering if GW2 artists would be willing to provide some downloadable fonts?? =)

Such as invasions could be implemented that periodically spawn on wvw map. They could be enemies to all wvw players or perhaps even created where if specific objectives are met they can become allied to a certain world to be used against other worlds.

There could be all sorts of smaller stuff that could be implemented so that wvw players get a chance for some unique events and loot. Jumping puzzles could spawn where a world must hold a certain point to have access to it. New weapon vendors could appear etc.

Heres a new Legendary GS concept I modeled. The sword is similar to already existing Twighlight or Sunrise but the blade would display rolling thunder clouds with lighting effect. I thought Rain would be a cool name as Rain=Reign. Perhaps players have water puddle running animation upon wield.

wow, the game actually looks really good no lag problems yet or anything. It looks better than my asus I think. I looked at the settings and they actually were all low but a lot of glow effects and outline of targeting even shows up.

Ok thank you. Can this type of laptop be upgraded to perform better in the future or is it pretty much grounded to the lowest settings? I think she will be ok with lowest settings as I believe most of my settings are automatically set to low as well and I don’t the graphics or gameplay is affected that much aside from textures and shadows. I hope it’s not too pixely or poor quality =(

I just bought one for my wife and am downloading game right now. Anyone play on one of these? I know they aren’t the best gaming laptops but was wondering how gw2 would run.

The other thing that worries me is a “windows” sticker wasn’t on it, so I believe it doesn’t have whatever windows package running. The game is downloading though which makes me think it might run anyway? confused

The sylvari designs are fantastic Kristen Perry and to me they are the most interesting playable race. I like my sylvari’s hair so much already that I usually hide the helmet slot for any gear.

For my male sylvari character I would probably most opt for long curly hair like I have irl, such as perhaps a system of gnarled roots about shoulder length. Probably something along the lines of these oak tree roots.

I believe there is a problem where the coat and pants meet at the waist that appears to separate the wearers body—at least on a sylvari. You can see through the body at the waist and it looks as if the waist is disconnected.

The email account I am using I don’t even use anymore and it is frustrating every time I try to log in with a new ip address. I have to try and get into my old email for which I often get locked out of temporarily because I forget all the passwords I have created. I would like to log in and be able to reset my email.

That is a good idea too shine. I was thinking with attunements you could switch between while in combat to get new abilities. perhaps utilities are then tied to traits and not f skills. this way your f skills or abilities could act accordingly. Instead of tool belt it could be like a “belt of shrunken heads” or something. Each head you collect giving you different abilities lol.
Elite forms could go in many directions. Imagine turning into a giant karka, or wurm would be neat.

We can for now call it a “Ritualist” or perhaps “Shifter.”

“Shiftualist” because it is extremely different than gw1 ritualist but retains some of the mystic themes and ideas. It would actually be a new “soldier” class although more ritualistic and primal themes such as the ritualist while being tanky.

The shiftualist uses mystic magic or rituals to transform into different creatures, races or “otherwordely” spirits. It’s looks and armor are very primal or druidic and can take on light or dark tones according to how you trait, although unlike nornish druids, “natural” animals arent’ implemented. It would actually be a cool expansion with Tengu race as the armor would work.

The main mechanics are “shifts,” which are much alike the attunments of Elementalists. Unlike the attunements of elementalists the shifts will accordingly turn you into different creatures that have different viable strengths. Also like the elementalist, the shiftualist is unable to weapon swap but main weapons available are staff, shield, or maybe even a whip is implemented. All the weapons would change the the shift ability mechanics like the elementalist.

Some ideas of shifts mechanics:

The different f skills are tied directly to your trait lines and unlike attunements can change through unlocking different traits (specifically new creatures or transformations are unlocked with progression of trait lines). Each shift will offer different default transformations before expanding on trait lines, and will also offer different viable strengths and weaknesses.

F1 and corresponding trait line Shift is “Beastiology” or perhaps “Monsterology.”
With this shift players can turn into a variety of beasts or creatures collected through trait line Beastiology. Some examples might be Minotaurs, Harpys, Wurms, or Devourers, Karka etc. This shift is tanky with more power oriented traits.

F2 and trait line is “Mimic.” This shift and trait line explores the lesser races of Tyria such as perhaps Skritt, Quaggan, Ogres, Krait, and perhaps Dredge. In this shift, players can mimic different lesser races of Tyria and are more about strategy and precission based although still being considered tanky and melee.

F3 and trait line is “Mystic” and actually and has no transformatinos but allows spawnable otherworldly spirits to be called upon through abilities to boon or condition enemies, and also heal yourself and allies.

F4 trait line is perhaps “Dark Ritualist” and transforms the player into demonic otherworldly spirits that are still tanky with a focus on aoe damage.

F5 trait line is “Ritualist” and transforms players into Healing otherworldly spirits that are tanky but with aoe heals.

So all of these can be switched or “shifted” to according to f skills, but are tied to how you set it up in your trait lines which will determine what things you can do or transform into.

The profession is the extreme magic based “soldier” archetype being more magical than the guardian but less tankier than the warrior. It would be a ritualistic tanky or shamanic , almost barbaric type melee class using magic to transform. So instead of the “knight” armor, it is more barbarian or mystic type imagery that sets it apart—or the form you are in.

Now we have symmetry as we have our third soldier profession that acts as a “tankier” class albiet an extreme magic user but with the least ammount of armor or weapon choices. We also fill a “druid” archetype, but without using just “animals” such as norns or traditional druid tropes. We fill in a niche for a combat or fighting with “hands” type trope which would be determined by the form your were in—this also solves the problem of focusing on armor on creatures for players that would rather transform than wear armor. And it also could be full of ritualist themes implemented, but instead of calling upon spawns mostly the rituals are transformation based. Another thing it does is to solve the demand for any new races or professions in one go, as players that really want to play a quaggan can trait to do so.

Anyone that actually read any of this, please expound with ideas or critiques on this idea!

Thats a good idea. I would opt for a druid type class that can transform into other animals, monsters or lesser races perhaps. This way you don’t have to worry about armor you wear but the creature will dictate how you fight.

It might be called a “shifter” so you can stay in your normal form or perhaps like an ele transform into different creatures. So it would be like a soldier melee profession like an elementalist. You can also trait into the different creatures on trait lines.

Some examples would be maybe you can shift into:
skritt
quaggan
dredge
kodan
ogre
krait
minotaurs
harpys

this way players can opt to trait to be a quaggan fighter underwater a lot, or perhaps for a skritt elite where you can shift into three skritt to fight. just an idea

I think it would be a good idea to expand in this way and also to offer an updated version of wvw battles. Have a new zone where the three factions are in battle over territory in accordance to new lore. Then have players on the server be able to fight for their faction over territory in pvp.

Here is my Signet build which people claim doesn’t synergize but is my favorite mesmer build so far.

Use Staff/GS for both phantasms and ranged abilities. The staff is great with chaos aoe boons and signets. Just use signet of inspiration and chaos field for boons constantly and keep transferring them to your phantasms. If you use all signet builds you get a blind and a stun also—how is that not synergy? People forget that you can transfer boons to your clones and with a power build along with might and swiftness popping often you can do some great damage.
Signet of Domination:
Passive: Improved condition damage.
Active: Stun your foe.
Signet of Inspiration:
Passive: Grants a random boon every ten seconds.
Active: Copy all of your boons to nearby allies.
Signet of Midnight:
Passive: Improves boon duration.
Active: Blind nearby foes.

If you are sylvari like I am I can’t do anything but the twighlight arbor gear or sylvar racial gear. Use the soft pastel glowy colors once you get the exotic dyes—I think the lighter colors look better on sylvari gear.

However, all of this I would reskin from Zed’s gear for swiftness and power once you are able to.

I agree to your sentiment partially lately but think the problem could easily be solved by simply giving us new trait lines or abilities to find out in the world.

In other words, what your “archetype” is becomes more than just your profession or weapons but gets some flavor from factions in lore, or specific quests that will reward players with different abilities.

An easy way to do it would be to create unlockable trait lines in this fashion. Say you want to go full healer than there would be a specific quest line or content to unlock this trait line.

Perhaps the abilities don’t even change but the traits make you heal allies. Such as using your heal skill heals a targeted ally or perhaps even all your weapon skills turn into healing skills for allies—an example would be my mesmer healer can create a portal that heals allies that use it, or I can shatter illusions on allies to heal them.

people love collecting things. period. and mounts is a big part of that. without mounts, the world isn’t really working to the extent that it REALLY is working.

the people kittening about mounts would be the people imagining the idea of some genius dev in arenanet that said “no mounts” who may or may not exist saying “mounts are lame” and smiling down on all the kitteny people as if they are a part of some known gw2 hegemony of “real gw2 players” that really doesn’t exist.

once mounts are implemented, these people will reflect back on “the good ole days” of gw2 when we had to reach LA via a waypoint “uphill in the snow both ways.”

We have race, sex, profession, small feature modifications and ink dye. Doesn’t it feel like something is missing?

I like how elder scrolls has obtainable traits or abilities that cuts across profession or race. I was imagining it would be cool in perhaps a future expansion if some genius out there implemented a blank elite skill or trait line to be filled in by players through obtaining unique and distinguished rewards resembling exotic or legendary skills.

At least it could be unique particle effects, or transformations.

It could be 80+ new trait line to be filled in however we want or by what decisions we make in game via personal exploration or story line.

Just sayin’ I love GW2 but to keep an edge something like this would be interesting.

I think it would good to obtain further weapons skills through end game content or quest lines. Players could opt for different themes for their weapon skills and then apply them to a weapon sort of like transmutation. So if you do a “vampire” quest line for example, you could obtain vampiric skills such as a swarm of bats aoe or something. It could just be visual and not OP if people are worried about it.
