I do like your design, it is really good and a nice concept as it shows nice variants of sky and space combining in this blue fashion. And to me it is a better looking legendary. (would be better with a red/orange colour scheme at night)

1. No, you knew EXACTLY what you was making when you went for Eternity and your treatment should not be special and get a THIRD legendary greatsword design whilst all others stick to one legendary design.
2. Your legendary in not THE legendary. And it certainly doesn’t deserve treatment over some legendaries that have been screwed other even with update (like the minstrel and meteorlogicus)
3. This will remove the day and night feature they wanted for the weapon and completely goes against the vision of eternity in the devs eyes. Granted some legendaries that look good in the devs eyes are lackluster in terms of quality and A-nets make belief, immunity to criticism doesn’t help getting the issues for these specefic legendaries resolved, but sorry to burst your bubble, eternity is not one of these weapons.
4. People actually like the current designs and your colour scheme might not be good in their eyes.

1.) I never said I did not know what I was making and that this was a suggestion to better the weapon.
2.) I stated in this thread not to complain about other legends..yet here you are, This sword is a COMBINATION OF 2, yes it does deserve special treatment.
3.) Anet are fine designers and I know they can do better on Eternity. Yes this is “one of those weapons” as it has been talked about since release why the difficulty is so high just to get a clone, thus the small update to it recently that most are still unhappy with.
4.) Seeing as there is no difference from owning Eternity or sunrise / twilight separate currently, Anet can simply give a sword splitter to the 5% of people that own this sword if they do not like the new eternity.

This weapon is no ordinary legendary, it feels lackluster because you spend double the length of any other legendary on the two hardest legendary’s to make in the game. It deserves special treatment opposed to the minstril or meteorlogicus because the combination of both sunrise and twilight is about 2.5k gold more than both of those legendary’s combined. and I don’t appreciate your rude remarks.
1. You self promoted your post on reddit (as much as I hate going on that circlejerk website) You pretty much want the weapon built in your image. Which is not bad but still the principal of wanting it the way you want and asking various people to back your post up is pretty low.
2. Then guess what don’t self promote on popular sites if you don’t want disenting opinions on your pretty silly prerogative of all legendaries but eternity being completely fine. Here is the special treatment of eternity You like sunrise and twilight but can’t have both without having to constantly switch? Make this greatsword that alternates the two forms between day and night with little additional effects to bring out the weapons uniqueness
3. No anet are fine designers that you want to do YOUR legendary design of. Yes Eternity does need a bit of touching up, but legendary greatsword users are in no way shape or form entitled to a complete re-haul giving you a THIRD legendary design when they have the most detail and beautiful effects that some would kill to have on their legendaries.
4. Have you ever considered people LIKE the eternity effects maybe? So they should suffer because a few people want your idea? Its not like either one looks bad at day and night.

<— Necro defending the purple. Although, i do think it should have been a cooler shade of purple, almost blue to better represent the night sky themes. Indigo, i think it’s called.
Quip is a pure purple weapon. If you want purple go get something purple. It should not be the scepter we all wanted because it had great effects that synced with the colour BLUE. At night it should still not be any shade of purple, a very dark blue would be better since it works well with the night theme and new stars they added would go great with it.

Yeah it ONLY looks good on you because of your purple colour scheme. (which is nice I have to say) But i’d say over 3/4 of people with meteorlogicus think the changes at night (and the trail) are tacky, last minute, lazily done and a slap in the face for people that loved the design.
-Footsteps are pathetically low in quality in comparison to others, It looks like a backed up lightning effect you saved in your folders and waited to use for something. You could keep the lightning and cloud footstep idea and STILL make it look better than this garbage. The only reason I like it in comparison to it’s predecessor is because it’s predecessor never had any in the kitten ed first place
-Removed a trail in replacement of some shine effects.
-The Night glow is a tangy, ugly purple mist that just does not go into conjunction with the orrery beneath it. Make it a dark blue to represent the night sky and still keep colour scheme people worked hard to get… This will actually make it look good with those shiny star effect you added recently
-The night alterations in general are lazy, last minute and ugly because.
1. The black animated clouds are ontop of the crystallized cloud which IS WHITE? wuhhh? make both black! Its so off putting seeing a mix of colours that aren’t meant for each other.
2. The lightning could have been A LOT smoothly animated.

If twilight had similar problems they would have 5 teams working on how to make it right…
Still I feel bad for the ones not happy about the change. The OP suggested a choice of looks for Meteorlogicus. If they give us one, I don’t believe it should be as the OP stated it should either be the old one or the new and then you are stuck with what you choose.
Your logic hurts my brain. I want them to make meteorlogicus better. I don’t want them to make it worse but give them gimmicks. It should only be improvement and not lazy editing. No matter what ANYONE says, the design on night time was pure laziness.

-Add trails
-Make the blue glow a little less transulcent
-BRING BACK THE TRAIL’S (I don’t think you understand how sad it is to see this go.)
-Add more cloud effects on the footsteps, the lightning looks weird until the clouds come along but that is usually later
-Make it glow and trail when sheathed, I don’t like looking at meteorlogicus in it’s raw form

-Darker, blackish blue (BLUE, NOT PURPLE)
-Make the crystallized cloud black, the weapon looks like a mess when night hits and one part is white and the other is black..
-Unique dark blue trail that comes off the weapon
its weird, sometimes when the weapons sheathed and I waypoint it mixes the two colours THEN I get the trail. The effect is still there anet FIX IT.

Some of us have been yearning for these changes for nearly a year now. And I have to thank Anet for listening to the public. As the new changes are perfect in every way. For the people complaining about the lightning footsteps don’t match.. Are you kidding. The precursor is called -storm- and it uses 100 charged lodestones to make it. Think before you write. So yes, the footsteps DO match the Meteorlogicus.
There is no one saying that lightning footsteps are bad, I actually love that..but remove another effect, the blue purple trail, is such an injustice!:(

I loved it very much! I was hoping it will gain MORE effects than just footsteps, like spell effects! For example Dragon tooth which would look like it is dropping from a cloud (silly idea but you know what I mean), better arc lightning effect or something noticeable.. Its still very innoticeable weapon! Look at Dreamer, even blind person can see those ponies everywhere, Twilight huge trails…

Look at when she runs, the weapon no longer does the effect when you swing it or move it. What the hell? Why has the change been implemented.
Im happy to look past the:
-Lack of an aura
-A Night cycle which doesn’t really do much but make it purple and more stormy clouds (which you didn’t even bother to make black, I would like the idea of a night cycle if the thing it turned into actually looked good)
-Recycled footsteps and nothing imaginative.
-The shine being WAAAAYYY to over powering that I can’t see the details of the weapon WHICH WILL SUCK when it turns to an ugly violet colour that has nothing to do with night.
But getting rid of the effect when you move the weapon? Why are you doing this, there is no reason whatsoever. With the improved glow and the improved sun I thought this was going to make the moving effect of the flowing glow 10x better. But you straight up removed it?

SERIOUSLY these footsteps really suck. They’re like little lightning worms coming out the ground with the black clouds coming in way to late to make it look good.
I thought the glow was suppose to improve not be more dim, I can hardly see the blue anymore.
How do you do an update and make the weapon itself worse. Granted the features are cool but the outcomes flat out suck.

I just realised something else as well, the have removed the blue swivel effect that flowed of the scepter…. Really? Replacing it with mediocre glimmers isn’t considered a good thing to many.

Im kinda disappointed we didn’t get an aura of any kind or a sway of clouds when we swing the weapon but hey at least you bothered to look at meteorlogicus… But there is a huge problem in my person opinion.
Why are the footstep effects lightning they look so low detailed and oversized. And why are they lightning? Why couldnt it be like treading on clouds that disperse when your feet hit the floor?
Thankfully you gave it a day to night cycle which kinda makes me look past this but still, the footstep effects look really look like last minute effect you would put on Bolt :/

I hope that they keep the same colour scheme and that screen shot was a weird hue.
But from what I can see im not excited that much seeing as they’re putting little creativity into it. But from what I can tell:
1. They added Lightning to it (seems inappropriate but meh)
2. Weird shine effects (very lazy an effect why don’t we have more clouds?)
3. No aura unless the weird shines are the aura, then this is really stupid and lazy.
4. If they’re adding lightning to it (a very small lightning effect) does it mean we will just get a copy and pasted bolt footstep effect?

I made Meteorlogicus but I am extremely angry with it having no effects. So I plan to make Incinerator (You know because I would actually like an aura and some legendary footsteps for putting time and effort into something)
So would it be nice to get some confirmation on if you’re ever going to give it effects (that it deserves) so I don’t waste my time getting incinerator for them, Because I would like to use my other gift of exploration for a sunrise and not waste it.

Ele is a very high skill celling class, pro’s do extremely well, and new players get destroyed.

Oh shutup, they were never that good, Yeah maybe a bunker ele was able to SURVIVE against 3 people but they were never able to kill them. We can barely win a 1v1 without having to use crappy point and click placement AoE’s that are slow as sin. Quit hiding under the illusion that you’re a good player because no mater how good you play you’re pretty much scraping the average outcome any other class can put out without even doing half the effort..
The class is fine guys, I almost beat a necro today to prove it…

Yeah I know it is stupid that the weapon has no Body aura, spell altering or footstep effects but hey what can you do…. They could of done a thing like eternity so that it turns to a dark themed orrery and call it Apocolypcius but that would be asking for too much. Whether or not they will add footsteps and a body aura who knows because I really wanted clouds floating around me and coming of the bottom of my feet as well dude….
The same phrase over and over again “having the lowest armor and heath in the game”.. It gets old to see players using this same excuse to justify why they are performing poorly with the profession. While some are complaining that the ele is awful at every aspect of the game, there are other players that are very good with this profession at every aspect of the game. What could be the difference?
The thing is they’re not.
The truth is with ele is that it can do a bucket list of things. Just very badly.
I don’t like the idea of having to chain combos perfectly to take a fraction of a targets health down when a thief can sit in stealth and literally bring you down to a good 10% of your health in a matter of seconds, I should feel more rewarded for getting off a good combo.
So like I could run a d/d elementalist then switch to s/f and die in that instead.
Fecking bravo. A nice balance of the truth not only hurting but making me laugh.
But here are my opinions on how to fix ele.
1. Make Evasive arcana, Attunement swap blasts/cleansing wave traits baseline.
2. Fix your stupid elementalist trait system to have decent traits. I see no reason to go into fire. The only decent two I see are for Earth and Air but usually we can’t go too crazy with those choices because we are forced into 30 in arcane and 15 into water.
3. Reactivate ability for when you attunement swap
4. Bring back the DECENT AND COMPLETELY FAIR RtL and mistform.
5. Fix little things with spells that lead to big problems. Like dragon’s tooth lengthy cast time, Fire grabs silly hit box. Fire fields not burning targets that run by etc.

It’s meant to be used offensively. It crits for around 1500 and lets you land big PBAoEs like Earthquake. Oh, and even though it doesn’t break stun, you can still cast it while CC’d like other instant abilities.
LF is actually my favorite cantrip. Mistform and Cleansing Fire got nerfed and Armor of Earth went from meh to worse because of it. If they want to keep Mistform the way it is, they should reintroduce stunbreak to Cleansing Fire and up the CD, or lower the CD on Armor of Earth.
Yeah I really want to get close to the enemy as the squishiest prof in the game… And don’t you dare say its great for d/d. But hey at least it crits for a lousy 1500.
Why are Anet being so kittened with this spell?
I pick the thing so I can get away not so I can do damage. The range of it from what I remember has been reduced to a horrifying amount not to mention they removed the stun breaker. And it does little damage anyways.
This thing should have at least a 12 sec CD for all the crap they’ve done to it.

Anet does say if things are going to be improved and changed. That sets an expectation. I’m asking if they have set the expectation with the things the OP is saying are broken.
Anet have said for a while certain legendaries will be getting a few visual updates, but this was a while ago and they’re never specific with this sort of thing. Seeing as most people that own these legendaries have asked for this relatively fair changes I think its safe to say these are not complete legendaries.
Loosen up.

And the Bifrost
The Bifrost has footsteps…. and a unique weapon trail.
I really don’t understand what makes people want legendaries to be more like every other legendary. Adding footprints makes it LESS unique, not more.
Now, I totally support giving it more FX and greater screen presence, but doing by repeating the same old kitten droppings is a lame plan. When I draw Meteorologicus, I want storm clouds to gather overhead, I want a brief blast of wind and rain, snow, hail or what have you (the FX for most of that being already in-game). I want the rumble of distant thunder.
I want WEATHER, not piddly little footprints like those greatsword saps leave laying around…
As much as I would love this, they would never give this to us. Since it is too unique an effect for caster legendaries which Anet seem to hate. Just because a lot of legendaries have footsteps does not mean it will make the scepter less unique because you could just say it’s currently not unique now because of how it comes of as a normal weapon and not a legendary by not having any sort of trail effect like footsteps and an aura.
What about the Juggernaut? I’m pretty sure that doesn’t have footsteps either, and if it does then it has a very underwhelming effect (a silvery water-like trail when swung). Also when wielded there’s no glow/aura on it or the wielder either.
If you want a focus that’s worth the cash, the Anomaly can’t be beat. It honestly should be a legendary weapon. The Minstrel… omg what thought was put into that before people tested it prior to release? Obviously very little/none.
They did say that legendary weapons took off an awful lot sooner than anticipated, and to this day they still haven’t addressed any issues with any of them (that I can think of).
Juggernaut has an EXTREMELY noticeable aura, The thing turns you silver for pete’s sake. It would be overkill at this point.

Pretty much everyone that has it wants foot step and aura effects on it, it’s a probably one of the legendaries with the most unique design.
And no it wouldn’t be over the top. Are the Twilight and Sunrise, swords that you can see different parts of the sky in depending on perspective that also has a paint brush swing effect and foot effects that work the same over the top? It’s a legendary, But nah man a scepter that isn’t even half as big is too “gaudy”.
Sorry to bring this up, it’s mentioned a lot on this forum but the squeakiest wheel gets oiled. Meteorlogicus, The minstrel and Eternity still have not got their little elements that make a legendary, legendary.
Meteorlogicus, The Minstel and Eternity are in need of:
-Foot step effects
-an aura (for the first two that is)
-Subjectively something on the arm
Most people regard Meteorlogicus as an extremely detailed weapon, therefore not deserving of any real special effects like an Aura and footsteps so the topic is always brushed off.
The minstrel is extremely Unnoticeable and has nothing legendary about it.
And eternity is lame because of 3 things.
1. Nothing to seperate that what your holding in your hand is eternity and not just twilight or sunrise.
2. No footsteps which I think we can all agree is a huge trait to a legendary. (Unless the aura is really good)
3. No toggle option.
Honestly I can still see another year go by an nothing will happen.

First of all I will list the problems with Fire Grab
Fire grab
-CD is far too long for the amount of damage it does and lot more other professions have harder hitting abilities on their “2” ability
-It seem to require a re-occurrence of the big bang to land the thing on anyone that moves even the slightest bit.
-Animation is weird, the width of the blast is shorter than the animation at most times, and the width of the blast goes further then the animation itself.
Dragons tooth
-For how long the dragons tooth takes to land and how much it hits for, trying to catch a player in it is not worth it.

-Easy as sin to move out of.
What could be simple solutions for these do degrading as all sin spells.
-At least Triple the animation speed of dragons tooth.
-If not make it either placeable or make the tooth follow the player
-Double the width of the blast of flame grab, make the cast time a tad quicker and lower the cooldown to a 15-20s cd.
-Or change the mechanic of fire grab to be a target spell that does a more powerful flame blast (still make the CD shorter).
But still, there are too many problem with Elementalists in pvp that don’t going like bunker builds, it’s doubtful any of the criticism we display will be taken into account.

Because every other profession can do what you do but better, the difference is our skills are more varied and thats it.
I dont get why you are all so happy..I for one realised that 15 water and evasive arcana should be like the base for ele survivability..Not even something like fresh air can outweight the fact that ele base defence SUCKS..
This patch achieved nothing..It only forced EVERYONE in max cond removal only now we have our water line nerfed..Not even stability and 20 in earth is worth it with the necro plague.
Thx anet..but unless you really fix the arcana problem and the base ele defence nobody gonna use air/fire/earth grandmaster traits in serious pvp..
Thats my opinion of courseIt’s kind of a problem that anet decided to give classes basically the same dps, but gave classes different health and armor. Thieves and Elementalists who spec full damage get 1 shot by boss attacks if they ever get hit, warriors can survive it while specced full dps.

Pretty much. Obviously if you’re like me and play a Staff ele who is spec’d into Earth and Water then the patch is great. I can understand why others aren’t so happy. I originally played as a fire ele, but you very quickly realise it isn’t viable when you’ve used your dodges and get hit by a boss and die >.>
At least thieves have the ability to completely hide and are pretty much the worst profession ever -_- kill them all!
That is the problem, I don’t want to spec into water and earth to survive things other professions can survive without the need to trait into the defensive aspect.
To be honest I wouldn’t mind traiting into Fire and lightning for less defensives (or hell the defence we have now) if the trade off was notable and the traits were good. The damage gain is very minimal and hardly noticeable.
Most of the fire traits are stupid things like “Burn target when doing” not only is it silly that not all of our fire spells apply burning, but burning itself does very little damage and most of the fire traits revolve around lazy burning mechanics and nothing new and more fluid.
Things like:
-Cleanse a movement impairing effect and gain a Speed buff when running through fire fields
-Blast finishes being undodgeable and stuns when a foe is burning. (with a decided internal cd)
-Fire blast finisher when critting a burning targer (With a decided internal cd)
All would be a nice welcome instead of “Burn target for a millisecond when you execute every spell you currently have”
This is deciding whether or not the stuff we need now (evasive arcana, water trait 15 and increased healing) goes baseline
Most mobile profession… that’s good for a laugh! Ele’s are at the bottom, and ele’s are the only class that can’t survive a normal fight without being mobile.

Of all the things to reply to it’s this? Really?
You’re not going to do anything to fix the class which has a bucket list of QoL issues such as:
-Having to trait 20 into water to survive.
-Having to trait 15-30 in arcane for utility.
-Useless passive traits on things such as fire .
-So many spells are way to slow and have this draggy feeling towards them.
-Scepter spells requiring way to much time to dish out damage.
-Staff hitting only 5 people.
-Dagger being pathetically useless unless you try bunker (despite admitting close up professions will receive damage and defence bonuses)
-Ride the lightning silly CD mechanic, its silly long CD even when you hit someone with it.
-Ride the lightning freezing you for a split second at the end of it every so often
-Fire grab requiring a re-occurrence of the Big Bang to happen to land it on someone who moves an inch.
-Churning earth having a silly long cast time for such little damage output.
And these are VERY few examples of the problems with ele, But I guess this won’t get replied to because you think your balancing theories of elementalist’s are immune to criticism.

Can we please get an exact timeline on when the final couple legendaries to receive their updated effects will receive them? Namely, Meteorlogicus and The Minstrel.
Judging by how rapidly all other legendary effects were updated, I can not surmise it would be an extraordinarily long or difficult process to add effects to the final few.
Please just DO IT and add it in immediately so it can be done with. No need to wait until a bunch of new legendaries are ready to be introduced. Please focus on fixing the final few now.
An exact timeline would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

fail trollYeah, a boring blue light effect that floats 30cm of the center point, its lazy and weird and could do with something like clouds brushing of the weapon, especially seeing as it is a main hand weapon that has no additional effects to specific spells.
Plus Footsteps need to be added to it.
Minstrel is an off-hand; no Im not saying it doesn’t deserve a rework because it does, but the point is that this main hand that requires 100 FRIGGIN CHARGED LODESTONES got way screwed over in comparison to the others.
See you’re looking at Meteor like everyone else, doesnt have effects, not worth my time. Meteor is the most artistic detailed out of all the legendaries, and to put effects on it would actually be quite overkill. When you make it your buying it for all the detail and design in the model, not for the affects
Oh and the the sky and space swords that you see different parts of depending on your Point of view isn’t detailed?
There is absolutely no reason why we can’t have both a Great looking weapon with additional effects in comparison to the others…
