This is not the game that I paid for.
Thats why I am complaining
What is the game you paid for? I would go return it if you bought the wrong game. Most places don’t accept returns on software that has been opened though.
Would do you better if you paid attention and made sure you bought the right title next time.
This post , and it’s condescending tone tells me you just created this thread to argue with people who do not share your views. Methinks they have a name for that, but I forgot it. ;/
I dont know, I got a nice laugh out of it. Besides if its not a game you think was worth what you paid for it… then why would you still be here? You can get a refund out of ANet fairly easily.
I think one-time events are an awesome idea – they should just last for longer. I would say a week at a minimum, and the “Phases” like the Investigation stuff should be phased or instanced like the personal story is and not be only on certain days.
Having the large group events is fantastic but I think the non-group events like the Investigation should really be up to the player to do on their own time.
Thats all really, just stretch the event out for a few more days.
Do you also pass along to the designer when users say it makes them want to jump off a cliff in real life?
Feels more like a chore or a punishment than a leisure activity.
Then dont do it.
If a jumping puzzle requires 20 people to jump in the same spot at the same time, scrap it.
Start over and design it so that this is not a necessity.
One of the biggest complaitns you got with the halloween event was that the clocktower was too hard, because nobody could see themselves to know where they were or where they were going to be…and then in The Lost Shores, you include a jumping puzzle that requires a bunch of people to start in the same place, at the same time, at the same pace? :\
We can’t see ourselves, again. We can’t see where we’re going to land…again. Stop please.
Lol, EVERY jump puzzle starts in one spot and they all have a specific path. If you had just waited a day to do them now theres almost nobody there anymore – just like every other jumping puzzle.
Same here :/
Little annoying, but I can live with it… assuming it doesnt persist after the weekend lol.
Same deal on Tarnished Coast, and whatever overflow I was in before that.
Ive been holding off doing the new stuff while I wait for a friend(different timezones), but Im still not 100% sure on whats happening.
Theres the one-time events at noon PST, I get that. And I know the instance and new areas will stick around after the weekend.
But what about the investigation events, and the “quest” to collect junk(or are they the same thing…?), are those going to be around the whole weekend or are there new ones each day or what… Basically Id just like to know what I need to get done today, and what I can wait to do later this weekend.
Cool thanks guys… Living in the sticks blows sometimes.
Having it auto-cast would be REALLY nice, especially since its done already underwater. Though perhaps with a lower AoE radius(on just the 1 ability).
I would dearly appreciate a size indicator instead of a file count, but we cant have everything.
I mean we paid for this!
oh wait we did not..
Relax guys.. what is a few hours??
The difference between life and death, judging by some of the posts Ive seen

What kind of PR is that that doesn’t want to talk to it’s consumers?
Im raising my eyebrows right now, because Ive had years of watching what MMO “consumers” act like when a developer says anything. If it was my job, Id be an alcoholic :p
This is getting annoying. I’ve been checking for an update every hour now for 6 hours. Nothing…
Is is really too much to ask to get a reliable time here? I mean the 15th is over in half of the world already.
I wouldnt say its too much to “ask”, but its too much to expect that a major content patch that also introduces new systems will always go swimmingly.
Just chill people, its the event on Sunday thats the important one-time thinger.
Anyone have an idea? Trying to decide if its worth going to a buddies to download it or not(looks large, but file count is a useless way to guestimate).

Exact same issue with a friend of mine(Im going to make my own thread though), 3 days and not even a response from ANet and the hackers been on the whole time.
I still have trouble timing it. I try and use the Mine on top of the turret, and time for when it pulses, but half the time the combo doesnt go off. I wish the animation was more obvious and corresponded better to when the actual field is up. But I have done an explosive combo off it earlier today, so its still there.
Edit: If thats what SideStep is referring to, I dont think its a bug or exploit.

Lornar’s Pass’ Griffonrook Run, if done the correct way (carrying the bomb) could easily be the most rage inducing jump puzzle out there.
You have toCarry a bomb with a 3 minute timer through a gauntlet of griffons which swoop you. If you are hit by a griffon even once, the bomb detonates. There are eggs which give you health (needed because there is lots of fall damage) and speed buffs along the way
You need the bomb to open the chest, but apparently that is bugged.
I just did this one, and its by far the hardest puzzle yet. But I had a lot of fun raging at my computer and really look forward to more of these
Well because of the way GW1 handled skills and builds, it was far more necessary. But yeh, Id like to see it in GW2 as well.
I don’t know who decided to put jumping puzzles in an MMORPG, but it wasn’t a good idea.
These (extremely easy to get) Vistas and the jumping puzzles(not so easy, lol) are EXACTLY the kind of stuff MMOs need more of these days.
I know I did a post before but those computers were pre build and I couldnt change the stuff you guys were telling me, now I will try a different approach these are the specs and I can change them this time:

Little overkill, but others have already suggested alternatives. But what do you want out of your PC? Do you want every setting maxed out with 60+fps? Are you fine with medium settings? What else does the computer get used for(besides web surfing or music)?
You dont need an SSD or Ivybridge for gaming, 8gigs of RAM is plenty, for GW2 unless you need everything maxed you could save ~$100 and get a 7870 instead. Plus where are you going to get the parts from? Do you want to build your own system, or do you want to have it shipped ready to go? There are retailers like Microcenter who tend to have good combo deals if you live near one, or things like buying a 660ti that comes with Borderlands2 which may or may not be worth it for you kind of thing.
Right when you first make your character, THATS when you started the “Endgame” content. Get the generic MMORPG treadmill out of your head and try looking at the game more like… an FPS. Back your chair up a bit so you dont band your knees on the desk, but I honestly find GW2 has far more in common with games like Modern Warfare than it does with most MMOs – and in a good way. Youre just in, bam, playing the game. All levels are for is pacing the content, not gating the meat of the game in an attempt to milk you for cash.
Plus theres TONS of farming and grinding for people who want it.
“I don’t understand why this concept is mutually exclusive from the current game right now. It would be possible and perhaps necessary to implement high end PvE content. Most people playing this game instead of WoW are doing so for a reason. If GW2 had a similar PVE system to WoW, and kept what it has right now the game would appeal to everyone, and it would be phenomenal.”
I disagree somewhat. You can actually play most MMOs the way GW2 is set up, there is tons of stuff to do in WoW before hitting the level cap but most people just dont see it. The problem though is that everyone wants to do only the endgame content, so if the focus was on endgame then the rest of the game becomes the usual race to level cap. Then the development has to shift to endgame and leveling people faster.
However that will happen eventually anyway as ANet adds new content(which I am 99% sure will be level 80 stuff) and as most people hit level 80. But this isnt the “Need a new dungeon every month to keep people playing” type of game for a few reasons(no sub fee for one), so the focus will shift to PvP like it should be IMO.
Theyre not really a “turret class”, turrets are to support you not be your mainstay. Not that I wouldnt like to see an all out turret spec, I just dont think its something you can do right now.
Engineer could use a bit of tweaking but I have a lot of fun with it right now, I knew going in that this wasnt going to be a stand back and shoot things class… its a utility class.
