I originally planned on having one of each profession but now I’m considering making more for some of the elite specs like Dragonhunter and Druid.
Also, if the problem of culture mixing is such a big deal… Divide Cantha into provinces/zones: Shing Jea would be Japanese, Kaineng Chinese, Jade Sea Korean, and Echov… Nevermind, it’s German.
I’ve made similar suggestions like this one on similar threads before and I feel like this might work out. Although part of me can’t help but think this might cause other problems to arise from this, but I might just be imagining things.
I’m sort of on the fence about what build to use. On one hand, I like the Valkyrie builds that some ppl have put up (with some variations of my own), but the other hand I feel like Celestial might help me get the most (if not, enough to be useful) out of each legend without having to switch gear every time.
So did they cancel the invasion or is that still going?
(Posting from work, so I don’t know what’s going on)
EDIT: Also, what’ll happen to the armor skins and potions since it looks like very few ppl will be getting them through this event?
(edited by Headcase.4618)
Still holding out hope for Scarlet’s armor skins tomorrow.
Changed up the build, increased damage and condition damage output.
Set yourself up in a chokepoint in wvw and Hail Rodgort
Interesting setup, but how come the none of the master traits in DH line was selected? Was that by mistake or what?
So I’m trying to come up with a burning build that can be used for Dragon Hunters and this is what I have come up with so far:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAsfTn0ABNChFdCWkittendiF/hSO8P/33KAqgHILCnwME-TBjAAB+pJA6DBwDHBAAeAA4s/Q0aBo4EAoqGEWV/ZMlfVqEcPdEkCwPhVA-e
Any constructive criticism you have would be appreciated
EDIT: Made some adjustments to build.
(edited by Headcase.4618)
I hate to shoot down your idea, but what you’re suggesting seems a bit redundant. Probably cuz the Revenant is basically supposed to be a heavy-armored Dervish IIRC.
Now if it’s new legends you’re looking for, I was thinking Pyre Fierceshot as a “Legendary Outcast Stance” that grants access to the longbow, and also perhaps Snaff/Oola as a “Legendary Golemancer Stance” that grants access to a focus.
You know what I’d like to see? Scarlet’s Spaulders and Grasps. I really hope we get these before the anniversary sale ends.
Music Instruments should receive like toys, minipets, ect. their own tab under the Character Menu.
Alot of stuff in GW2 thats currently an inventory item could be removed from the inventory, if Anet would change these things simply into account bound character menu items, which you can then select from the menu to use them.
That we we could remove alot of unnecessary things from our inventory.
But in general i think there are mainly also other things, which Music instruments need to be improved.
1st) the whole system around Music Instruments needs to be improved, so that it is easier possible for anyone to play/replay good sounding melodies by some kinmd of “Auto Player” which plays for you automatically the input “Song Sheets”, which could be craftable items, which you can inscript with “Songs” and give these items then like Pets Names which you see then in the menu where you need to choose a Song Paper for the Auto Player
When a player uses this way to play a Song, people can see then at the Character name pop up a Symbol that tells players, the Song is currently “Auto Play”.
If somene plays manually very good, then naturally no symbol appears. The Music instruments need to get improved with some kind of ABC System, or whatever, that makes it possible to add to the crafted Song Sheet your outside of the game scripted Song Notes", which tells the game how to play the notes with the used instrument.
Because only this way will we be able to receive fluid sounding melodies without the lag that comes from manually shifting the pitches back and forth permanently every few seconds ect.
There are some much older MMORPGS out there, which show already, what was possible alot of years ago.
I think anet with GW2 could make that alot better.Next point to improve is the Guitar, seriously, its the absolute worst sounding instrument of them all, that sounds absilutely not like a Bass Guitar.
For Instance, thats here is the sound how our Bass Guitar in the game should sound
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sReVucg7zy8instead we have this terrible sounding stuff …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWdLSGGyrYUwhich sounds more like a mixture of a dirty smoky broken car motor/ broken piano kind of thing
—-Despite this criticism, I’d love to see more Music instruments for the future.
GW2 needs:
- Violins
- Xylophones
- Pan Flute/Ocarinas
- Clarinets
- Tamborines
- Rattles
- Saxophone
- Triangle
- Cello
- Erhu
- Step Shoes
We need to get the good things together, so that its actually possible to play together a great orchestra
That would be awesome, if we could get in game enough good musicions together with instruments that play all together ingame orchestras
This^
And if I might add to your list of instruments, they should also include an electric (albeit, gas-powered) guitar to go with the bass guitar, and maybe some kind of Asuran-made portable turntable.
(Fixed “things” for you)
Race: Charr
Gender: Male
Profession: Engineer
Skin: Viper monocle
Issue: Creates a small line on the Charr’s lower jaw that’s the same color as Dye spot #1. Does not show up on other races such as humans.
That Royal Guard Outfit:
Super 10 out of 10 Paladin armour ! I love it.Also: more FROG or RIOT !
I might know a guy who can get your frog back.
Recently I was considering whether or not I should create a second Guardian and I was wondering if there was any benefit to having multiples of the same profession or is it strictly for aesthetics?
So recently, I ran the CoF meta in Fireheart Rise and during the final event where we fight off mobs til the time runs out I see that out of the pile of mobs that fell after being killed there are a few of them that are still standing up and not moving. Now I believe I’ve seen this happen during similar events before and for a long time I just assumed it was because of all the players killing mobs faster then the game can process, but then someone chimed in and said it’s cuz of “bad install” and I had to reinstall the game.
Thing is, I’ve installed this game twice already (the second time was cuz my laptop had to get a new hard drive) so my question is if it is a bad install, what went wrong? And if reinstalling the game doesn’t fix the problem, is there an alternative solution?
These are pretty amazing facts and all, but can an ele defeat Segata Sanshiro?
I don’t like the Outfits system, but if I had to suggest something, how about some casual clothes since Outfits is built upon the festering remains of Town Clothes?
I’ve suggested something like this as well on other threads. They could be available right off the bat like a new player’s introduction to outfits. Also, to add a personal touch, they could have an emblem on them based on what you picked in character creation (ex. Human outfits with god emblem, Norn with spirits, etc.)
Another outfit I suggested is a “Guild Athletic Outfit.” Picture the outfit Faith wears in Mirror’s Edge and you’ll get what I’m going for. Plus it’ll have your guild’s emblem on the outfit if you’re in a guild. (It’ll be blank if you’re not in one.)
Hello, recently I put in a request have my display name changed because I have come to greatly dislike for a number of reasons I don’t want to get into. Needless to say, they said they could not. So currently, I’m trying to come up with some kind of alternative for this problem which, unfortunately, points to me having to delete this account and make a brand new one. This would mean that I would have to complete erase my account and everything on it, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the game (probably with a new copy of the game groan) Which brings me to my question; Can I ask support to help me to transfer everything in my account (items, toons, etc) into a new one. If not, then I’ll need to seriously consider if this account is worth keeping or removing altogether.
Hope to hear a dev’s response to this.
Thank you.
I’d really like to change my display name but so far the only method I can see for doing that is to create an entirely new account and delete the old one, and I do not want to do that for a number of reasons.
I only have one question; Will there be Mini Llamas?
Something I noticed when channeling Ventari is he is the only one without an aura around the arms. I know this is a minor issue but I feel this needs to be brought up. Maybe give him a white aura or something in the future.
Bump
I know it’s just the beta, but I believe it’s worth mentioning this bit from the demo
My new Asura Revenant, Betatester Abyx.
EDIT: Included pics of final version once Scarlet gear shows up in TP
(edited by Headcase.4618)
Daoir, ranger, thrill-seeker, lady-killer, all around awesome sylvari and his wolf, Talbot.
(It’s pronounced “da-HEER” btw)
I too have noticed the same thing lately. I have no pictures or particular references. I’ll make a note as I continue the personal story of my latest character and add them here.
Make sure to include a screen grab for the Devs. They told me it’ll help them.
Lately I’ve been finding that certain PS cutscenes and LS instances have areas where some dialogue is muted, such as the Greatest Fear chapter with Tonn, and instances from Dragon’s Reach Part 1. And just now, I found another bit of muted dialogue during Forewarned is Forearmed cutscene.
EDIT: Add some screencaps from Battle of Claw Island
(edited by Headcase.4618)
Thankfully we’ll be able to make new ascended aqua breathers come xpac.
(edited by Headcase.4618)
So I just completed the Greatest Fear chapter with Tonn and I noticed that for whatever reason the dialogue is muted in some places during cutscenes. This has also happened in some LS instances as well (in Dragon’s Reach part1 for me). Not sure how far this has spread and I’m hoping you can take a look at it.
Thank you.
I can say with almost 100% certainty that they have drum music and battle songs, like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHAHw7KsNfU
Maybe also bagpipes and trumpets.
Considering They can make a working gas-powered bass guitar (and hopefully an electric guitar in the future) This can only be what their battle songs sound like!

(Note: Flamethrower optional.)

I’m probably in the minority in this discussion, but I think outfits are the way to go for casual clothing. In fact, instead of it being available in the gem store, let’s make it “Town Clothes 2.0” and have it accessible on your toon from the start. And to add a more personal touch, the outfit will come with a different emblem on it depending on what god/spirit/legion/cycle/college you selected in character creation.
This is a minor gripe and I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this, but I feel it should be brought up. The giant hammer that appears during hammer skill #5 should resemble the hammer you are wielding instead of the default Mistwalker Hammer that was shown during beta.
I’ve said this on similar threads before, but I’m going with Asura.
A bit off topic, but I just watched the Season 1 recap on Youtube, and I noticed their wasn’t anything on what happened in Southsun. I know the two events that happened there have nothing to do with Scarlet, but perhaps you could add a recap of those two stories in the future? Maybe from Canach’s perspective since he’ll be playing a larger role in HoT?
Yeah, the current recap focuses exclusively on Scarlet’s main objective so a lot of the finer details of each release were left out. This was to keep the cinematic at a manageable (and watchable) length and also present the most relevant details that bridge the Personal Story to Season 2.
That stated, I agree that it’d be cool for people to be able to learn more about the other releases from Season 1, since there were bits of plot and character development in each one. We’ll keep this in mind for down the road. Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad I could help.

Here’s a question; With the acception of the 3 points you get for linking accounts, do you have to physically enter HoM from GW1 to get more points? Cuz I have “Legendary Defender of Ascalon” which, if I’m not mistaken, counts for 2 points for HoM rewards (under “Any Title Statue” in reward calculator) and yet the I’m still at 3 points on HoM achieves instead of 5.
Welp, guess I’m not playing for a while.
It’s only on the character you log in with first. Your alts will be fine. and you will not have lost anything. But yeah, I wish I had my brown pants on.
So just to be clear, if I log in with one toon, then switch to another toon and/or switch back to the first toon, everything will still be there? Or is everything going to be blank on the first toon from now on?
Name: Digitologist Abyx
Race: Female Asura (Alt)
Personality: Likes to smash stuff, and SAB (crushes over Moto)
Appearance: T3 heavy cultural armor plus Scarlet’s Grasp and Spaulders. Will appear as Tron-like as possible.
Weapon(s) of choice: Leaning towards Hammer/Sword+Axe (Sword+Shield with elite spec)
Legends of choice: Shiro and either Mallyx or Jalis
Backstory (Cliffnotes ver.): Born unable to use magic like other Asura, she ended up working as an engineer in Thaumanova doing menial work. When the reactor went off, she awoke miles away from the explosion not only with a different appearance (eyes from purple to red, hair from dark brown to platinum blonde, and skin markings completely disappeared) but has also gained the ability to channel power from the mists themselves.
i really enjoyed reading this
and it sounds like a cool little asura you got in mind there
i love the whole born unable to use magic but ends up being able to channel from the mists
Thank you. TBH, I was a little worried that this idea would break from lore or something like that, but I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Okay, say they do this. What about ppl who don’t have the coins to buy these designs? Yes the festival vendor is still around but the items they sell are also available from the laurel vendors. So for this to work, I think for this to work we’d need to have an alternative method of obtaining weapon designs besides the coins, most likely laurels.
Unless you’re planning on being a tanky support kind of Guardian, you’re better off sticking with what you have.

If we’re just throwing names out there, I’m gonna go with Jora as the Legendary Norn Stance, Or maybe Snaff as the Legendary Golemancer Stance (assuming we aren’t just channeling GW1 characters. But beyond that, I’m not really what sort of role they could fill, gameplay wise.
