the only Charr siblings im aware of are Rox and Rytlock, who are of different ages.

Where’d you hear they were siblings? I sorta remember someone saying they were originally gonna be related somehow (like father and daughter) but that idea was scrapped in the final version.

I’m working on a back story for my future Asura toon involving the incident and I was wondering if anyone might happen to know what year the Thaumanova Reactor exploded? I figure it would’ve happened not too long ago, given Scarlet’s involvement, but I’m not if it happened around the time your character starts (1325 AE) or some time before that. Any info you might have would be appreciated.

Thank you

Soooo I have to ask about these ideas… and as awesome as many of them are…

Has ArenaNet ever implemented any of them? I have been gone for awhile, so maybe I missed it if they did… but I can’t think of anything off the top of my head.

I know some players suggested custom mail carriers some time ago, and that became a thing. So you never know, maybe someone else’s idea will get picked next.

Idea for a new outfit: Guild Athletic Outfit.

What I’m thinking is the top is a plain tee-shirt for male/tank top for female, hands would get fingerless parkour-type gloves (that can be hidden), bottom half would be knee-length Cargo shorts with maybe something like a water bottle attached to the hip, and the feet would get athletic shoes. Plus, your guild’s emblem would appear either right in the middle of top half, on the left side of top (where you heart is), or just below the collar like with some gym clothes.

QUICK EDIT: If you’re not in a guild, top would be blank.

Changing up weapon skills

in Revenant

Posted by: Headcase.4618

Headcase.4618

I’m of the opinion that the legends should come with their own weapon skills for each weapon much like attunements do for Eles. On that note, I also believe that if we go down that route, I believe some of the legend utility skills might work better as weapon skills. For example, Vengeful Hammers and that stability road skill (will look up name later) could fit better as hammer skills while in dwarf stance (with Phasing Smash turned into a demon stance hammer skill.) I understand that this method would require coming up with new utility skills and such but this is just my thoughts on making the legend swapping work.

Naming my Asura

Hello
I need help coming up with a good name for my future Asura Revenant. I originally was going to name her “Abyx” (like the game controller buttons, A, B, X, Y) but the name was apparently taken, so I’m trying to come up with a new name for her so that I can claim it now and not have to worry about it later. So far, I’ve narrowed it down to two gaming-related names since I’m picturing her as an SAB fan girl, and they are; Terro (anagram for “retro”) and Shmup (SHoot ’eM UP) But I am open to suggestions on other names. So whatever name you can come up with, gaming-related or close to it, would be appreciated. Thank you

P.S. I am aware that female names usually end in vowels and males in consonants, but I’ll take whatever sounds the best. Plus, Moto seems to get by just fine. (ignoring Kudu)

[Suggestion] More skirt outfits for charr

A lot of outfit – related threads usually consists of ppl saying they either love them, hate them, wanting clothing tonics turned into outfits, or wanting more casual looking outfits. On the fourth one I agree, which is why I decided to take it upon myself to come up with a quick design for what I’m calling, “Cultural Outfits.” These outfits will look different depending on which race you play as, similar to the Chef’s outfit but also, assuming there aren’t any technical limitations, these outfits would also have an image on them based on the god/spirit/legion/cycle/college you selected in character creation.
Thoughts?

Note: Apologies for the picture quality as I am not able to scan them at this time. Right now I only have a rough design for what it would look like on Humans and Charr, will add more at a later date.

Gem Store God Outfits! A Pattern?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Headcase.4618

We already have Grenth’s Mask. So if they do a Grenth outfit I don’t think they’d re-used the mask they already have in game. So they’d have to change his, that kinda debunks part of your theory. But its a good one. I do imagine we will, at some point, get an outfit for every god currently around though.

Grenth’s outfit would be fine even if they re-used the mask. If you have the mask you can combine it with any armour, while the outfit is basically a onesie with optional hat.

I’m fairly confident they will stay true to the six human gods’ appearances when designing the subsequent outfits.

There are depictions of Grenth with horns on his head like on statues and such, so maybe they’ll do that with the Grenth outfit.

So.. making Town Clothes and the other clothing tonics into Outfits?

Noticing the trend in outfits, we’re seeing a lot of human-god inspired ones, so maybe we’ll get Asuran Colleges, Charr Legions, etc.

Should’ve mentioned in post, but I am aware of ppl wanting town clothes tonics and such into outfits, but at this point I don’t think that will be happening soon. Anyway, what I was thinking that these outfits, for the most part, would look different from the town clothes, more so on the other races such as the Charr and Asura.

Nika is back! Is Cantha next??

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Headcase.4618

Going back to Cantha?
Sure, I’d love that.
But so long as some cooperate desk jockey thinks it will offend people, I won’t hold my breath for it.

Was that their reason for not doing cantha again?

smh…..

cause it offended the east from what i heard

Refresh my memory, was anyone offended by Cantha in Guild Wars 1?

From what I heard from various people on the forums, Japan, China and Korea weren’t happy that their cultures were mixed together.

Mixed architectural styles and cultures don’t sell well historically in east Asian countries, so they’d miss out on a wide number of players if they made Cantha a melting pot kind of area like it would have been in Divinity’s Reach. It’d probably work better if they picked a single culture to base it on, but I’m not sure how accurate to lore that’d be.

I posted this on another Cantha-related thread some time ago, and this is just hypothetical, but what if instead of just using one culture or rolling them all into one, Cantha were made up of different provinces that are based on different Asian cultures, such as a Chinese-themed province, a Japanese-themed province, and so on and so forth. I believe that by doing this, we can get a Cantha that has representation from various Asian cultures and none of the mixing that said cultures have an issue with. Would that work or would that just create new problems?

Here are my names

Norn Guardian (male) Sven Delacroix*:
First name: One of the few nordic names I knew of at the time.
Last name: Got it from the short story “The Lottery”. French for “Of The Cross.”

Human/Canthan Mesmer (female) Chihaya Horikita
First name: From Chihaya Kisaragi, a character from a Japanese idol raising video game, “The Idolm@ster.”
Last name: From Japanese actress, Maki Horikita

Sylvari Ranger (male) Daoir: Went by two different names before settling for this one. Name means “Strong Oak” IIRC.

Charr Engineer (male) Sagat Bronzefang
First name: From the Street Fighter character of the same name
Last name: More or less the first thing I came up with. Rolls off the tongue IMO.

Norn Warrior (female) Astrid Leifsdotter
First name: From Astrid of the “How to Train Your Dragon” movies
Last name: From Leif Ericson and the nordic word for “Daughter”

Human/Canthan Thief (female) Ibuki Toda
First name: From the Street Fighter character of the same name
Last name: From Japanese voice actress, Megumi Toda

Sylvari Elementalist (female) Erynnah: This one was incredibly difficult to name cuz just about all the names (and variations of them) I wanted were taken. I was only able to claim this name after adding an “H” at the end.

*Fun fact: when I used this last name on my GW1 toon virtually everyone I talked to assumed I was french.

Celestial Ele is still very strong and fun to play. Now you have choices.
1) Air/Water/Arcane – focus on playing defensive whilst still putting out decent pressure.

3) Fire/Water/Arcane – great damage and blind spam

What about Fire/Air/Arcane? Could that work?

Ground targeting for Turrets is no longer available. I heard someone say it’s supposed to be baseline but it only seems to apply to Supply Crate.

Looking over my notes from the first and second streams I don’t see a mention of it for baseline.

My guess is that people dropping them in impossible to reach (and thus kill) places was a big part in removing that trait.

So they really got rid of it? If that’s the case, I guess I’ll have to make a new build.

I have a question regarding switching between normal professions and elite specialization; Would the elite specialization be able to wear a different set of armor then the regular profession, i.e. a ranger wears berserker armor while druid wears knight armor, something akin to a build template, and if yes, would this also apply to the wardrobe system as well?

Catacombs combing paths bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Headcase.4618

Headcase.4618

I don’t know if anyone reported this, but apparently there is a bug that causes paths 2 and 3 of the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon to be selected at the same time.

How it seems to work is that one person in the group picks path 2 while the rest select path 3 and then both Detha, and Tsark will follow you. Once you reach the Hall of Campions, Detha will start setting up the traps for the Ghost Eater while your group is attacking graveling mounds. This means that, unless you exit the dungeon, you can fight both Colossus Rumblus and Ghost Eater in one go and get credit for both paths. This also means you skip out on loot and dungeon tokens from Path 2.

Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

Thank you

They aren’t changing armor types, why would they need new skins?

I think he is referring to the fact specializations come with new skins.

What I’m referring to is could specializations include something akin to a wardrobe template where you can say, have a thief wear Strider armor in standard form, and Viper armor in Specialization form without having to spend transmutation charges everytime.
