I took a break from the game for more than a year, i see sword/warhorn build are still the meta in WvW but i would like to know if axes (that i always liked) are viable for roaming or small groups.
Are there any builds that use axes has weapons?

i like traveler runes a lot, i can’t stand the slow motion speed of my guardian.
Ok, I agree with your point, that all other heals will be unaffected, so in that sense it’s a nerf. However – HS + adrenal + regen from dogged was what made warrior sustain what other people considered “godly”. And this sustain was weak vs bursty zerker builds and poison. One of the 2 will be weaker after the patch.
Yes warrior sustain is really good, still this change to HS is a nerf no matter how you see it.
I can say that due to the change in ferocity it will affect warrior survavibility less than expected but at the and of the day this is valid for every class and every healing skill.
with the crit damage reduction it might turn out to be a buff

its not just the passive that is the problem. Its warriors as a whole.

Most of the whining i see on the forum are about HS e Cleansing Ire, now healing signet has been slightly nerfed, should they nerf also CI (maybe adding an internal cooldown) the warrior would be fine?
A lot of people also whine about the warrior stats (high HP, high toughness) but i don’t recall anyone saying anything about it when the warrior sucked, now apparently it became a huge issue.

Warrior Regen was increased.
Crtical damage took a 25% nerf, but healsig only took an 8% nerf. The damage of the people who actually do damage (ignoring those shamans bunkers who can’t kill anybody), falls behind passing warrior healing.
Healsig is more powerful than ever.
With this line of thoughts every class received a huge buffs too their healing skills.
Do you really think the conquest gamemode needs more maps?
I’m hoping for another competitive game mode surprise reveal this or next week’s Ready Up, which wouldn’t be just for hot join.

I’d like a new game mode, also the last map they added is skyhammer which isn’t exactly a big hit.
I don’t like Sylvari so i would go with humans, however i’ve only norn characters
You might have problems vs heavy condition builds without cleansing ire.
I would also swap the amulet with something else, healing power doesn’t really add much survivability, i prefer to use soldier’s amulet.

Runes can be changed but i like the speed bump also in PvP to move between mid and home points and the vitality bonus is a nice addition.
Can you please tell me what is wrong with the build and the areas that need improvements?

I mean, if they still have several months of work to release the new system why the “hurry” to remove pvp glory?
A integrated VoIP would be a nice addition, anyway the OP is right: way too often i see people raging after the first minute of play calling out teammates and whatnot.

Yes, you can still spend earned glory points after march 18 but playing pvp will not grant glory anymore.

Glyphs are not graphical variation of the spell, some enhanctments though added special effect to the weapon.
I think howevere that purple is the characteristic colour of mesmers, i wouldn’t like it to be changed :P

Not sure what your goal but let me point to obvious mistakes.
sigils not stacking together
Change armor to dire and trinkets to zerk or try somthing else if you go for combine direct dmg+ conditions +survival. Arcane thievery currently not good enough. It is sounds very good in theory but long casting time long cooldown and huge chance to miss make it waste of space. I use mantra of resolve to clean conditions. I did try that weapon combo few times didn’t like it. Scepter is underpowered and unless you PU cond build doesn’t really works well.

thanks for the tips, can you please be more specific about the sigils? What would you use? I put energy sigils so that i have one more dodge to spawn clones on weapon swap, accuracy to get better crit chance.
I will try mantra of resolve, when i was playing mesmer i remember mantras not being used much so i dismissed them now.

Indeed you might be right about Illusionary Persona, i’m still not sure about the equip setup, with this build i should have quite a decent uptime of confusion that’s why i invested point in cond. damage.

I guess that having several ways to apply confusion i should focus on condition damage, i tried to keep crit chance not too low because IIRC sword/pistol are have power (and crit) based damage.
How would you change the traits and on which stat should i focus?

i’m trying to complete the map also with my warrior but i’m stuck at 99%, i completed today the red border (which was the only one i was missing) but i’m at 726/727 POI and I cannot find where is the last one!
I’ve wandered from map to map, i’ve looked also in each zone zooming out and i’ve completed all of them, i don’t know what i’m missing :/
I’ve been in LA after the patch and it’s completed that too…

People complain about the hambow removing too many conditions and I agree. The longbow F1 is to easy to use and in teamfights you build adrenaline up so fast you can use that one and the hammer F1 on cooldown, meaning 6 conditions removed every 7s. That is a bit over the top and is why the hambow is so so strong in spvp. Removing 3 conditions every 7s would bring them more in line with the rest.
How can you remove 6 conditions every 7 seconds steadily?
You could do that in particular situations i guess, but in the long run you will never remove so many conditions with cleansing ire.
i have NEVER played warrior before. i did well. TOP kills. 2nd score. did well. top defenderand top assaulter. bottom line if u play a class you have never even logged onto before…. itllshow how bad you are too. btw i got all my points WITHOUT CAPPING so yeah. try again?

Also in hotjoin people come and go during the match, score is hardly a measure of how well you played even in tournaments.

Actually it is. I am going to guess you have not leveled all professions to 80 so you do not even have a clue how OP it is or isn’t, yet you will make such statements.
I have 5 classes to 80, I don’t need to level every class to 80 to give my opinion on class balance, or i have to take for granted that anyone who claims warrior is OP has leveled every class to 80?
And yes, he did prove something. Unlike people who make blind claims based on what they read here or what someone afflicts against them in game, he at least picked it up and tried it for himself. You on the other hand are claiming “it is not OP” and offering absolutely no evidence, facts, or any argument what so ever to support your perspective.
The OP on the other hand never made any claims in the original post, he simply listed how easy or difficult he found certain aspects of his experiences.

Yes but IIRC the devs have talked about the 8% reduction of HS passive during the livestream, i guess that should make it to the balance patch.
Condi Bunker Mobility Warriors are OP (As most condi bunkers are currently, but warriors get to have the best mobility on top of it)

What makes you think your class deserves the ability to get away from every other class scott free whenever they feel like it? You have the most gap closers in the game PLUS effective immunity to movement impairments.
The hambow build you are calling OP doesn’t have the slightest mobility, hambow warriors can’t run away from anything: the warrior troll build you are talking about is sword/greatsword, hardly OP.

I wonder if could be a good idea to make HS to scale better with healing power so that a warrior should make a tradeoff between damage and great sustain.
Anyway don’t forget that to use cleansing ire you have to land the burst skill and unfortunately only hammer and longbow are easy to hit (well comburstive shot always hit).

I would love the warrior to have more depth and proactive gameplay instead of relying too much on passives, that is not a reason for a nerf however.

Warriors can do perma swiftness since day 1 and they’re are not out of comparison (also, they’re not the Gods of this game, but i don’t want to start another ‘nerf warrior’ thread considering the warrior forum is already loaded with them).
Guardians can’t do perma swiftess easily, that’s a fact:
what the user was suggesting was giving up two utility slots to use a couple of shouts that most of shouts guardians don’t use (kill yourself and retreat), on top of that equip a staff which is not a weapon everyone likes and most guardians don’t even use, I do not call that pretty easily even without comparing it to warrios.

I will test again my spirit build in tpvp this week, I have only played a few matches but i quite like the gameplay though I preferred the beastmaster bunker build I was using a few months ago (i don’t remember spirit rangers being so popular back then).

i’ve played a few months ago something like a hundred games with the ranger to know the class.
I must say that i liked playing ranger despite his problems, I was using a beastmaster bunker build (0-0-30-10-30) but reading the forums it looks like now only spirit rangers are considered viable, is that true?
I just want to know if i’m wasting my time testing other builds, i left the game for some time and i don’t know what changes underwent this class.

It’s easiest class to play in pvp by far, best survivability, amazing spike damage, amazing mobility. It towers above anything else.
I can’t believe I used to play one so much in pvp and thought I was pretty good at this game, this was before the buffs and healing signet changes.
The guy who just said he put out 23k damage and is whining…..you get to put out that sort of damage whilst still retaining 3k armour and 20k hp. An ele can’t even get close to achieving that sort of output, yet to even try would have 12k hp and 1850 armour, with 0 escapes and 0 defensive traits.
This is why there is an issue with warriors at the moment.

The warrior forum is becoming hardly readable.
Warriors are significantly over powered at the moment. The key would be to make them, once again, extremely subject to condition damage with few ways to cleanse.

Rune of the dolyak regen is ridicolous and doesn’t scale with healing power.

The greatest precursor of balance is population of a class. Warriors need to be toned down dramatically.
Maybe you didn’t play when GW2 was released but warrior was a very popular class even back then.
In every MMO the warrior is usually a very played class.
