I made a Celestial Orichalcum Imbued Inscription and wanted to craft a sword. The Celestial Orichalcum Imbued Inscription will not show up in my crafting pane. I have made other items in the past with this, so I have the “recipe” unlocked. The items I’ve made in the past I can still make by clicking on them, but I cannot craft new ones via the discovery pane. Is this a bug? Has anyone else seen this problem? My weaponsmith is currently at ~485.
Not everyone has the ability to get something when the only way to get it is random chance.
…. It was pure chance.
Your example is utter trash as well. Why? Because I guarantee you that you got baseball cards from that pack. Maybe you didn’t get the card you wanted, but in every single pack of cards you did in fact get cards. There was no guarantee of getting a skin, that you wanted or otherwise, therefore there is no comparison.
Kal,
You obviously don’t understand my example which was perfect, given the RNG aspect of the weapon skin. Not everyone WILL get the rare rookie card they want just like not everyone will get a skin. It is pure chance…thank you for stating that. That was the point of my example! I gurantee you got other items frome every single chest you openned. However, the chance to get a skin out of the chest was less than than other items. Just like the chance to get a “rookie card” is a lot less than the other cards.
This is what inflates the price of the card, and it is done intentionally. I believe Anet also intended this by making the weapon skin chest drop rate rare. Im sorry but I dont see them re-releasing it. The weapon skin IS a rookie card in that aspect….you had a chance to get it last year and only last year, unless you decide to fork over some gold and pay for it on the TP.
If I am wrong great, I too will be trying to get the skins this year, but if they were in fact a 1 time thing, I am fine with that given the above real world example….I understand that aspect of MMOs and RPGs. I missed out, or was not lucky. Perhaps my luck will come this year with one of the events. I’m still anxiously waiting for my first ascended chest drop.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
I think some of you are missing the point of a unique event item. The rarity of the item is why people try to farm the crap out of the event and why prices are they way there are on the TP. If you still really want one, you can buy items like the scythe staff on the TP. To allow them to be re-released would be unfair to all those that put in the time and effort to farm or the money to purchase. For those using the RNG excuse and feel entitled to every single item just because you took part during the event…GROW UP.
Here is what it sounds like using a real world example. I buy 5 packs of Topps football cards hoping to get a Barry Sanders rookie card. I do not get one but the person after me does. Well that’s not fair, I think everyone who purchased a pack should get that rookie card. Maybe I can wait a whole year and next years’ cards will STILL have Barry Sanders as a rookie?!….that is honestly what this thread sounds like….and no, I am not an owner of one of those weapon skins.

Wait! WAIT!
I know, I know, I know!
It’s Scarlet’s Body!!!!!!!! Because then Scarlet will show up in the middle of Lion’s Arch, and pull a Scooby Doo on us by pulling off a fake rubber mask to reveal that she was in fact Mad King Thorn the whole time!!!!!
Best answer yet!!
100% of the people I see gather don’t have the special tools. See I can make up random numbers also.
I am not making it up what I see. I do farm runs on 2 characters daily in one of the orr areas. About half the people I see mining the node im at or near seem to have one of these special picks. That is for me personally. I assume this area has more than other area due to the nodes and price of picks. If you really see 100% that don’t, great, but I doubt it. Either way, my point is people are buying them at this price point. If not, I’m sure Anet would have lowered the price of the version 2 tools. I have 2 mining picks, an axe, and 1 sickle. Three of the 4 were purchased for 600gems.
Sin Vec, yep misread that. Thought he was talking about gold used to purchase the gems…my bad.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
Not sure how you think all gold came from someone elses real money….A lot of gold was originally made by selling blues/greens to merchant and doing dungeon runs with gold find gear/consumables on. Tequatl runs give me 1g per event.
Say you can trade 4gold for 100 gems, that is 32gold for 800gems. I know a lot of people that spend that kind of money on a single weapon or a couple of armor pieces. That is also character (not account) bound. Here is a unique item that looks cool and is great to put on your farming character (my thief). You never have to purchase another orrichalcum sickle again! It practically pays for itself in omnomberries.
You all must be in the minority, because ~50% of the people I see farming with me in orr have one or more of the special effects scythe, sickle, or axe. If they were not selling well, I guarentee you that Anet would have lowered the prices on these items. As long as they see the demand, those prices will stay. However, for those willing to wait/gamble, you can still get items like this for 600gems during special sales.

I would like a refund for WvW armor. There is a 70 vendor and 80 vendor. If you accidently purchase from the 70 vendor (which actually costs more tokens) you are stuck with it even if you dont ever put it on. You cannot salvage it for ectos or sell it on TP….you are screwed.
Yes, I suck for not realizing there is a 70 vendor there, but I rarely WvW and it was an honest mistake (with 2 pieces before I caught it). I just wanted PVT gear for my tequatl build. ;(
My necro can bring the best of both worlds because the conditions I bring do not focus on damage. Until this gets “fixed” I would think more people would bring a hybrid build similar to this for party sized groups like dungeons. The problem is that when a condition person groups with other people who do not spec for condition damage but still bring skills that do conditions, these people still use those skills rather than leaving those soley for the “condition” person to apply.
Personally I spec for PPT or PVT and do lots of damage and life siphon as a necro. I dont bother with bleeding or poison anymore. I use blood is power and wells to give myself might and groups of creatures 25 stacks of vunerability. I then add wells to blind them, and now my whole party benefits by being able to take them down faster and take little to no damage.
I know they cannot stack more than 25 due to server lag issues, so implementing where anything over 25 equals to instant direct damage could be a solution for PvE. Another one would be to add a few new conditions like Toxic, Naked, and Main Artery. Make it so 25 stacks of bleeding now transfers to 1 stack of Main Artery. It would take 625 stacks of bleeding to make 25 stacks of Main Artery. Main Artery does x amount of health degen. Same with poison to Toxic and vunerability to naked..etc.

Here are my “favorite” (not best)
Labyrinthine Cliffs (sky people) area: This is hands-down the the coolest concept and look to an area and reminded me of Cantha. I loved the special jump skills even though I did not care for the race. I also loved the merchants for all the karma foods in one place….please add them to LA!
Fractals: I wish I had more time to play it, but with new content, I just do not have any time for this dungeon. I kinda wished that new content was once a month, so that I could go back to the other content I enjoy.
Invasion: This was the most fun I’ve had in a large group. You felt like you were in a war, and it was all over the map! One fix: people who rez should get as much credit as those who just do dps. People (including myself) did not rez much due to the fast pace of the spawning and the penalty for not attacking. This is the opposite of team work and community.
Tequatl: This takes an organized guild or group but once you get one together, this is loads of fun. Turret duty, zerging, jump pads, battery defense….fun times. Here the fix needs to be less time waiting between events or better timers, also easier ways to get into overflows and numbering overflows so that you can meet up with people from other severs.
Wintersday and Mad King events: Any GW1 player loves it for the nostalgia, and then they made it even better than before and did a great job decorating LA!
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
Actually thinking about it now…I have a cool idea. Mounts are found in each map zone (or zones that Anet approves of), not something you own or purchase. For instance in the snow areas, the “mounts” are snow skis or snow mobiles. In the mountain areas, you can hop onto hang gliders. Rocky Charr areas have ATV like buggys. Human areas have horse-like creatures (no, not a centaur). Asurans have hover bots or something, and Slyvari areas have the seed pot helicopters.
Mounts are unnessary if you just want to get from point A to point B. Waypoints are faster, plus you get run boosters that give you an additional 33% speed or 25% speed boost 100% of the time…via runes, or skills/traits.
Prices to waypoint are adjust to your level. At level 80, 2-3silver is dirt cheap however you can still waypoint to LA for free via WvW if you want. On top of all this you can craft portals that allow you to waypoint from anywhere you are for FREEEEEE….yeah the crafting materials for this kinda sucks. I personally think more Tequatl type jump pads would rock!
Now if you just want to ride in something cause it’s cool. I vote Charr Cars! They have the buggys as you get into Orr. A mount where you can drive your whole party and have one turret gunner.
LOL

Tequatl is worth it now (after the patch). I have seen lots of people getting ascended chests, exotics, and minis. I personally got a mini Tequatl the other night and an exotic sword.
I sold all my key segments for 30s at the time…except for a set that I made for the achievement.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
Hi-Larry-Us
Some good stuff here. I especially liked the “runes of remorse”. They would go great with the sigils of shame.
Seriously though, they need to be able to communicate a better story to each player. The new dugeon path seems to have cut scenes that are more descriptive. Hopefully the living story goes that route via an email with a “video message” summarizing the new content. Currently the only way to get some info is from Dulfy and the ocassional Guild Wars news thread Ex.) “Scarlet story”.
It is sad but, most of the time I find myself needing to go to Dulfy to figure what what I need to do, where I need to go, what each achievement is…etc. This should not be necessary if implemented properly. How can they fix this? Here is a start: If I mouse over an achievement, it should give me a better description of what I need to do to accomplish it. If Dulfy was not around there would be 100% more complaining on the forums about the Living story content. It is a great site, but I feel that if the Living story content were actually done correctly, Dulfy would only need to be used as a last resort… for instance, only if you are stuck with one part of an achievment or story.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
You all have 2 weeks to get the achievement done for every Living Story. You can get 6 of them done in one sitting without trying. This leaves the last 4. Those were to participate (not win) a dragon event. That is 4 days out of 14. If you all really wanted this, get it done asap. If you have other excuses like work, internet, etc….you can’t blame Anet. If you did not have the time, you did not have the time. Everyone knows how long they have with the living story achievements. I would never wait that long for a reward I wanted, and if real world got in the way, I would not place the blame on Anet.
The ONLY excuse you all can use is that Tequatl did not show up at all last night due to a glitch, but it looks like the monthlies had already reset by then.
Have..you honestly not been reading these threads? People are angry because if they didn’t have time or the ability to get the last daily until last night, they were absolutely cheated of it, because ANet’s devs chose to not give one more daily DESPITE it still being September across much of their playerbase. Not everyone has a schedule that allows them to play the game often and more than a few people on here had to wait until last night for that final daily to pop.
Not providing one last daily before new patch content THE FOLLOWING DAY cheats your players and is just plain sloppy.
Of course I read the threads, which is why I answered the way I did. If you all really wanted this daily, get it out of the way asap….simple as that. There are some I push for right away and others, I care less about that I procrastinate on.
If real world got in the way and you could only make it the last 3 days, you missed out…Im sorry, that is just how life goes sometimes….Like you said, not everyone has a schedule that allows them to play the game as often as they want, but that does not make it Anet’s fault. To say you were cheated out of it is a little harsh. It’s not like they did anything intentially to take the achievement away from you.
Once the server reset, it was counting it as the next day because the monthly achievements also reset. The server was calling it 01Oct13 so technically it was Tuesday (somewhere). If however, it was not consider 01Oct13, you all would have a very strong case since Tequatl was glitched after the reset and did not spawn at all. Who know,s maybe Anet will be extremely gracious about it, but personally after hearing harsh words like “cheated” and “sloppy”, I would leave it as is and move on….ie, that is not how one pleads their case.

I’ve gotten 9 kills out of 11 attempts thanks to this guild.
I have a feeling that we will all remain in this guild due to future content of the same nature…ie they do plan on making other world bosses more challenging.
What sets this guild apart from others is that is it cross server. They have collected a bunch of players that are do’ers. This is the handful of players willing to coordinate, get on guild chat, upgrade/change weapons, traits, and skills on the fly. Bring new ideas to the table…etc. The whiners and complainers are not in this guild, people who find some content to be “too much of a hassle” are not in this guild, people who don’t frequent the forums to better their builds will not even find this guild.
The average guild typically has 3-4 of these go-getter type of players and the rest are somewhere in between or worse. This guild is almost all of the first type IMO. Makes for excellent instances and overflow content. I’d love to do some fractals and the new dungeon path this Tuesday with you all. It is just too bad we cant do guild missions together!
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
Guild Wars 1 and earlier added content in this game offered a lot for casual gamers. All titles were eventually obtainable. Arenanet seems to have gone down a different road now with this Tequatl redesign in favor of content requiring high numbers of players and coordination to complete.
GW2 offers a lot of casual content, and if you recall GW1 also had areas for non-casual player in the form of Underworld, Fissure of Woe, The Deep, Urgoz Warren, and the Tomb of the Primeval Kings, to name a few. These took a coordinated group effort and specific builds/weapons to accomplish. Old GW1 players and other “non-casual” players still look for this kind of content and now they have it with the new Tequatl.
It is not required to do, and the rewards are nothing special so if you don’t think it is for you…don’t do it. Armor and weapon gear is not as important if you know what you are doing and play smart, but take the time to bring skills that help the group not just yourself and change traits as needed…ie remove/lower points in precision and crit for now and add toughness and vitality (fast, cheap, and easy to do).
For the other person complaining, you can get dragonite fragments from any other world boss and WvW. To me a “casual” player is not worried about dragonite fragments needed to reach 500 in crafting though.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
(For those wondering, assume the minimum of 80 players for the event. Split them in half, forty going for the dragon and forty sticking by the turrets. Forty broken down into 5 man squads is 8, +2 to compensate for trolls/afk.)
Just a quick comment on your above comment about turrets and mobs. This is way too many for turret defense. Normally you want about 10-15 people on turret defense tops…usually 10 on the north side (3 turrets) and 10 defending the south side (3 turrets). By having too many people there you make the mobs worse. Now you have the potential to spawn champs. By lowering the amount defending turrets, you lower the mobs, and free up more players to attack Teq directly.
I do however, agree that there should be about 8 turrets not 6, or make it so that turrets cannot be filled until you here “There’s something in the water”…at which time the turrets open up. This prevents afkers and gives some leeway to noob gunners. However with a good turret group, you can keep his armor buff down to around around 4 the whole time. No risk of him ever getting to 20
I’ve been able to take Teq down 9 out of 11 times since joining an organized group and there are only 2 die hard basics to success:
1.) Good turret gunners. Keep teq’s armor down, cleanse the mobs, and spam skill 1 during the stun phase.
2.) People who can actually dodge into waves or jump onto them as needed! This is more important than the armor type/runes you have. You can actually sit there and melee the whole time if you know what to look for with his wave attack and realize that he always does 2 back to back.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
I can see both sides here. If you know you can’t win the Teq battle based on the time at which he reaches 75% or 50% then why not go for the achievement. If not everyone agrees then I can see arguing on both sides. The name calling is uncalled for and childish but each side should be allowed to play the game however they want. It was their purchase.
Don’t forget a similar event with a certain Scarlet in it. Once people got their achievements, it became a zerg farming event. Here the roles were switched. The majority of the commanders (and population…including myself) wanted to farm it for aether champ bags, but you would still get a group of people wanting to complete the event. So there would arguements and name calling with that event as well.
In the end it just comes down to play how you want to play, but be civilized about it. Realize that not everyone is going for the same thing as you, and in your case they might have had a good reason. The event was going to fail…yes, no? The tidal wave is cool to see once and there is a unique achievement that goes with it. However, don’t sit by and take any name calling or people IM’ng you with obsenities lightly…report them!

Sabreene,
Join us it is not too late: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/tequatl/Tequatl-Terror-Squad-3-SLAY-THE-BEAST
I have now had 7 of 7 successful runs in this guild.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/tequatl/Tequatl-Terror-Squad-3-SLAY-THE-BEAST
Go there, add your name, accept the guild invite tonight, and get a kill. It is that easy. I have done the Tequatl event 7 times with this guild. Our group was successful all 7 times.
What is the bigger hassle?
1.) Waiting around for over a week and not getting anything done. Not getting into the main servers and even when you do, chances are they fail…..or
2.) Join a guild that was made to take down Teq (TTS), that you can sign up for here in the forum, and getting it done 2-3 times that same night?! You never have to leave your server, and since you can be a member of up to 5 guilds, you probably don’t have to drop a guild. Just rep, type in guild chat, and you will get a party invite, then just taxi on over to one of the 2 overflow servers and get it done!
….I joined 2 days ago. I played the event 5 times. ALL 5 were successful!
They are both a hassle. There should be a third option.
Yeah option 3, just don’t do it.
Seriously though, if you consider option 2 a hassle…. and if this is for something you really want to accomplish, then I’m afraid to see how you handle real life situations. People are providing you with options and it sounds like you are just to lazy to try them. You want to be able to just pop in at the last minute and have the chest handed to you. Then you come on the forum and just complain about how bad you have it, rather than taking charge of the situation and making Tequatl your kitten.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
There are lots of suggestions to guest onto other servers or join guilds, I don’t want that hassle. I just want to be able to log in when the message pops up, show up in the zone, and stand a solid chance of getting through it so long as I do my part. Right now that’s statistically unlikely.
What is the bigger hassle?

I played in TTS guild #2 for the first time last night. I was around for 5 Tequatl runs last night….4 of them were successful, all of them were in overflows. At server reset we made an overflow 1 and overflow 2 group. We split the guilds and did Teq at the same time and both teams beat him (although group 2 was faster)…just some friendly competition.
I then did him 2 more times that night. Again two were simultaneously going on in an overflow 1 and 2. The benefit to overflows is that the turrets are usually empty or at least not filled with someone that is away from keyboard. In the main server, you never know.
Thanks for the runs, Sir Maxximus

Join one of the TTS guilds. We look for empty overflows. I was around for 5 Tequatl runs last night….4 of them were successful, all of them were in overflows. Both groups will be working together as much as possible. When one overflow fills up we have been starting groups on a second overflow. (the other night we had 2 overflow kills at the same time). We will also be setting up additional times for people to get together to make attempts (and kills) to cover as many play times as possible.
As it stands right now, we do several “runs” each night to get as many people the kill as possible.
Thank you for the detailed answer and for your role in putting the guild together….what about the voice coms,..I assume it will be in the guild message somewhere once I join? Are you all using Mumble, TS, or Vent?
Or maybe they are giving the metrics gathered during each and every spawn time so they can draw meaningful conclusions from them?
Im afraid that metric may be skewed if groups (of the same people) are guesting on others servers just to say that it was done on that server. And the same groups are the only ones that are consistantly repeating it 3-4 times a day…basically a false positive….However I hope to be a part of that group soon!
I have to say i’m very happy with this combination!
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/103036/gw020.jpg
What is this armor type? I like the Paragon look here and the color combo!
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
One more question…
I am assuming that TTS 2 is grouping with TTS1 as much as possible to make sure that the newer members of TTS2 can still get him down…but not at the expense that a TTS 2 member cant get due to too many TTS1 members right?
Can people start to rotate in and out to save spots for new members if they have accomplished the event more than 3-4 times?
Me please. I will accept by 5:30pm est today…(still a work). I tried to join the first group/thread but my guild cap was maxed. I dropped a guild and now I am ready for an invite this time around.
Will we have our own voice comm…or does this depend on the server we will be hosting on?
I totally missed out this weekend since I was without internet from Thurs to Sunday. We upgraded out modem and of course it was not working so we had to wait for a tech to pay us a visit and get everthing up and running.
I definately want another go at him. We did half decent on Wed immediately following the release because a lot of us jumped on the Mumble Maguuma WvW and made a new channl. We got him down very close to 50% which was not bad for 1 day after release…can’t say much after Wednesday though?
I also tried to get an invite to one of the US tequatl guilds, but since I had no internet I could not drop a guild and add them. If there is still an opening for a teq guild I can do that instead? Penguin, are you in SFD or EK? The name looks familar.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
Rather than give up or try to guest on yet another server for a chance… I would like to see if there are still people who want to take down Tequatl on the Maguuma server or if people with experience on other servers would like to join us to help take Tequatl down in Maguuma!
Please respond here if you would like a guild invite or if you are in Maguuma guild already and want to coordinate a better plan of attack on this damp lizard.
1 recommendation for Anet… can you force the turrets to be empty until we hear the “Something’s in the water” at which time people can enter the turrets. When we try to call off to find who all is manning the turrets prior to the fight we only get 4-5 respond. If all turrets are not active it is an automatic fail!
Invite me please if possible! Have done him 3 times (Maguuma) and got him down to around ~52%.
Do we need a second guild with a few “commanders” active on both so they can cross message?
Dude, you have 2 weeks (or more) to try…it just came out. Patience grasshopper, patience.
11) Be melee, condition damage is discriminated by anet.
How about making yourself useful by defending turrets instead of going for Teq?! There are lots of spawns constantly attacking and conditions will always help…especially blinds and vunerability. Or bring other skills to help the group that you normally dont bring like signets that group rez, or walls that block , or group buffs etc. It is not all about dps all the time.
Ex.) Ele’s with fiery greatsword or ice bows seems to work great due to large aoes, so if your a conditon ele, just change 2 skills…etc. They can hit all 3 Teq targets at once for extra damage.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
According to one of the dev videos, the key is to not let the stack get up to 20. Once at 20 he makes a bone wall and now is invulnerable until the wall is destroyed. Teams will get better at keeping the stacks down and using the turrets as needed. Other players need to come back and defend the turrets now. There is no need for some players to even hit Teq. If they do the other things needed to get the event accomplished they still get the reward.
I highly doubt exotic gear will make that much difference to the overall success…maybe shave off a min from the total…if that?! And who does not have exotics now that everyone is crafting these to get to 500?
Plus all the good players don’t typically get on until server reset.
LOL You guys are playing with the B team.
(edited by Holy Whirlwind.2067)
I read page 1 so forgive me it others have mentioned it. I just want to break down what happens during zerg fights and why people are complaining here.
1.) Conditions only go up to 25. With 80 people (according to Anet) being at this fight, the majority of conditon damage done to Tequatl will go to waste.
2.) People who spec out to do high condition damage will have their useful conditions replaced by other classes who are not spec’ed for condition, but still bring weapons/skills/trait that do conditions. These people should try their best to not apply conditions if possible. Temp fix: Highest condition damage should automatically replace lower ones?
3.) World bossess also don’t take crit damage, so part of the DPS builds go to waste. Kinda sucks for this build too, especially when they need crit hits to heal themselves via consumables. They are not doing 40k damage if they cannot crit.
4.) Some champs require a certain amount of damage in order to get the exotic bags. This favors the beserker builds and takes away from team work and support. This is very noticible during invasions
Anet should give “points” to those rezzing in the area and doing team support as the champ gets taken down.
5.) Anets current fix (for Tequatl) seems to be to spread out the zerg by defending multiple areas and having multiple targets to attack as well as as other jobs (turrets, battery…etc). I personally like this idea. This is more “alive” and realistic. People can still help out and feel useful where needed and hopefully they do not need to even lay a weapon on Tequatl to get the full gold award.

What happens to MF on Celestial?
in Super Adventure Box: Back to School
Posted by: Holy Whirlwind.2067
Why are you worried about the 33% stat reduction being useless later when it is that way now?
Because people spent time and money making magic find gear. They spent consumables to craft armor and jewelery. Now that aspect of the gear (the only reason they made it, disappears). They should be able to go to a vendor and “turn it” in for gear of another stat type. This is on a piece by piece basis, not account wide.
This also affects weapons including exotics that they just released with MF attributes. Why would Anet release new weapons with MF (a few weeks ago during the champ update) knowing they would remove MF attributes? I thought that the day I saw the new weapon skins and stats…
Then there is magic find to infused armor that was purchased with laurels. Those laurels should be payed back, since they cost more than any other infusion. I have faith that Anet has thought this through somewhat. I just hope that it is done fairly.

There’s no reason for them to sympathize with farmers who put their personal gold accumulation ahead of the community effort and community reward. Since however you started from view that only your wallet is important then you probably can’t appreciate that.
See you are assuming the “community” is trying to get the event done. But once you kill Scarlet once, what incentive is there to kill her again? You fail to realize that after a person has completed this achievement, the fun is zerging the event for champion bags. The zerg has become the “community” (the majority) and now it is you who is against the community. Assimilate and get with the program.
When you win the event you typically only get one more bonus bag vs if you fail on the 3rd wave (which gives you 4 instead of 5 bags). However you were zerging so killed more champs than those not farming, so you ended up with ~40 or so exotic bags. Anet did this on purpose to help keep this event active and going strong for the full 2 weeks.
In the mean time those who did not get the achievement can still often get it ~25% of the time or even more often from overflow maps where less farming/commanders are present.
There is not right or wrong way to enjoy this event other than trying to force others to play the way you “think” it should be played. I will play it on the fly. If I see too more people zerging with little chance of winning I will join the zerg and farm. If I see potential for a win, I will stop zerging and go for Scarlet’s minions. I have fun each time I map.

For those who have not noticed….farmers tend to load on the main map, while completion tends to happen on the second or 3rd overflow. I always notice on the main map 6-7 commanders and they are always zerging for champs. On the overflows the number of commanders drops and people tend to go in smaller groups to where the “main” missions are. We completed one in 25min in an overflow with 0 commmanders once.
One thing I have found helpful if you need to complete the event is to party up with guild members. We go in casually so that we are not all in the same “instance”. We keep track of the first wave of Scarlet’s minions. Whoever’s map completes that portion first is the map we join. That map usually ends up completing the event.
In the end does it really matter once you have gotten the achievement once? Just join in and have fun killing stuff knowing that GW2 is very much alive with all these people playing in one map with several overflows on just one of the many servers! I do have one wish though:
OPTION to turn of characters names (not in party or guild) in map areas seperately from the name option when in towns.

Not sure if this has been asked/mentioned elsewhere but:
I’m assuming Scarlet’s character and story will be tied in to the new Fractals that we will get based on the voting results (Thaumanova). The new Fractals deals with the eternal alchemy correct?
She was already headed down the wrong path by breaking in and stealing stuff from Rata Sum, and then after seeing the eternal alchemy she changes here name to Scarlet and kills her teacher.

I ugraded my video card just for GW2 and it made no difference since my bottle neck is the CPU. This game is very CPU driven and not so much video card. ;(
Great addition , alot more easy to manage salvages , instead of having 4-5 mystical salvage kits to fill up your bags you got the 1. Great Stuff
How is this convient?! A mystic salvage kit has 250 uses and better chance at rares and removing runes/sigils. It takes up 1 SLOT. This kit would take up 4 SLOTs for the same amount of use!! (1 for the kit and 3 stacks of copper)…do the math.
Plus you spent 800gems on this, I would almost spend it on merchant express and sell all my crap rather than salvage most of it, or extra bags.
They need to make a merchant that follows you around for a week.
For now I will continue to make and use mystic kits to horde my ectos!
Oh… Wow. Do you somehow think that you mine copper? That’s copper ORE you mine. Copper as in the currency.
Ohh, yes I mis-interppeted that then. When they said copper fed, I read that as copper ores…and having to keep ores in your inventory. Thanks for the correction. Not that bad now… but still wish they were closer to mystic kit percentages. Account bound would be great if I could mail it to myself before character swapping though.

Not all new content is for everyone. Arenanet tries new things with all these minigames, and living world updates. If you don’t like some of it, skip it…..it’s OPTIONAL. Go do what you like. If you don’t like any of it, please just leave the game. The rest of the community won’t mind your absense, we promise. I’m happy with a smaller, tighter community. Please just don’t come back in 2 weeks and complain about the next update. It gets redundant. I personally loved the group arena at the bottom with all the bosses and loot!
If you have a legit concern that can be addressed, great…expecially bugs. That is helpful and constructive. The reason for the different currency is to reward the people who played that content. It makes some weapons/skins more “valuable”. To combine it all to one, kind of defeats that purpose, and I’m surprised that this is not obvious to everyone. I would like to go back and spend a different token on a jade weapon, but I also like the fact that those tokens were more rare. I feel more pride in sporting my jade weapon.
Also for those who did not realize this: Arenanet is making it ALOT easier to get a Legendary. They are doing almost everything but handing it to you. We get WvW badges from achievement chests. The new patch is an attempt to get players to play other dungeons so that everyone can get the tokens they need for their specific legendary. Dailys lets you get karma jugs, which lets you get Orrian chests, which give you shards and lodestones. Soon we will be able to craft the precursor. Laurels lets you get the mats you need or more shards. Karma is now account bound. All this makes it 10x easier to get a Lengendary now than before. You don’t need a large guild to do any of this….but if you do, you are allowed to join more than one guild!
…and I would be happy to throw you an invite.

Out of the 4 possible torchruns, you have to do the one in the middle of Divinity’s reach (near the portal to LA) for this daily achievement to count….Hope this helps.
You can see how many people are waiting on the NPC who you’ll need to talk to in order to get into the arena. Most fights will not actually take two minutes. The arena will admit the next person whenever someone wins or loses as well. Also there’s a lot of other stuff going on in the map. You guys should check it out before you jump to too many conclusions.
No offense, but you (Arenanet) kind of brings this on yourselves. When you only release tid bits of info, people are going to jump to conclusions. Either release more detail, or I favor releasing less. Just let us know what to expect with each new release without going into details or allowing Beta testers to post about it.
Most of these complaint threads should not even be posted until after the content is released (or would not) if some of these small details were to be left out prior to release.

Too bad, I spent 10k honor badges on siege weapons yesterday to save space in my bank
same here i bought a ton of siege to make space for all the badges
You really had 40 stacks of badges (10k)?!
I don’t understand the sad face. What are you saving the badges for? Spend them on seige stuff if you do a lot of WvW or spend them on exotic weapons/armor if one of your toons is lacking. I personally bought the gift of battle, and then 2 exotic pistols which I then re-skinned with the celestial skin to pimp out my thief. If you wanted you could also salvage them for a chance at ectos.
Plus every 500 achievement points gets you more badges….so why horde more than ~500 at a time? Be happy that you got what you wanted/needed from the “free” badges that Anet did not even have to give us as ahievement rewards. You all keep acting like you’ve missed out on something, I don’t get it.
Hi guys,
(1) It is no longer possible to “securely” store gold. This is a real issue and will make aspects of the game more stressful and less enjoyable for many players.
(2) Many players liked being able to keep character gold individual. This functionality has been destroyed.
(3) Many players liked being able to centrally store gold. This functionality has been destroyed.
(4) Many players, myself and my guildmates included, feel forced to create and expend influence on creating personal guilds to re-gain the gold storage feature that has been destroyed in this patch. (continued in next post)
1 and 3 are solved by 4. If you really feel the need to make you own guild for a “safe” bank, it is easily done with laurels for guild influence. This really should not be that big of a deal for most players. Almost everyone I know already has their own personal guild just because they wanted more “free” (50-100 slot) storage.
Another option for those afraid to spend the gold is to transfer it to some other form. In GW1 when you hit the max gold limit, you purchased ectos, shards, armbraces, or coffers. People can do the same here with ectos, lodestones, or other high end tier 6 mats…etc. that don’t depreciate.
