We had every tower camp and keep fully upgraded and had to defend them whilst we built our golem army :p

Was going to wait for a Zerg to come and attack something then jump in our battle suits but they never came so I went up the pub lol

All i’m going to say to most the kitten in this thread is this;

3 times now in Deso’s history a mass exodus has occurred, and each time we have climbed back from the pits because dedicated community members step up and help us re-build. We have a massive PvE population that rarely venture into WvW and Anet provided us with the carrot on a stick to get them back into WvW shortly after 6-7 major guilds left.

6-7 guilds leaving wasn’t a problem, it was the amount of experienced commanders they took with them, and the amount of people that left because they left that was the problem. So we stepped up our recruitment, we formed PT to pick up the pugs and get them trained and give them a entry point into WvW. We have dedicated commanders for off hours to ensure our PPT covers our now weak Primetime (due to lack of Dedicated guilds).

PvEr’s don’t play unless it’s fun and that’s why we get hammered during primetime. They clog up the Q’s and run around like headless chickens, yet they ensure we hold a decent PPT in off hours.

This is the new Deso, like it or hate it we don’t care. We are re-building and in a good position to win Silver League. Other servers may not play PPT, other servers may just fight for the fights as we once did when were stuck with VS for 4 months. We’ve been there, we know what it’s like to get hammered 24/7 but we’re still here fighting for the community. Either suck it up and get over it or carry on QQing on these forums.

We are Deso, we want to win the league and us managing to pull this off after the kitten we had to deal with will make it that much more of an accomplishment. If Anet had not added achis to WvW i have no doubt we would be struggling. We put the time and effort into getting stuff done, so don’t flame us because we are willing to do it.

Was a pretty boring alarm clock form up, best fight was for AG BL WP, why you left to attack bay letting us back in i have no idea but gf’s none the less. Looking forward to fighting VcY, VoTF, TuP and many others during the week when i lead PT untagged.

Annoyed. angry, upset or just raging about opur coverage i don’t care. Play the game for what it is and congratulate other servers where credit is due. Let’s have a fun matchup

Was a mostly boring night after midnight. Started good in FR BL, dc’d and then having to join Deso BL and fight Millers guilds (sorry forget guild names fought so many people last 24 hours!) with 20 people was intense. Was expecting more from FR night team we kinda just Pvd around each other heh

Should be an easy win for Deso, can’t imagine the FR night tick will hurt us to hard. Looking forward to more

Gloating aside, take it as a compliment AM that we double teamed you, we all know you will grow in power as league goes on.

Had some fantastic fights this week, love fighting DYE and YaK always a struggle! AM blobs on the rare occassion do decide to charge and catch us off guard but today in Deso BL i had some amazing zerg fights that went on 5+ minutes.

Never once complained about blobs on forums, love fighting them. It’s the meta, accept it and adapt. If you want to contend Silver league but aren’t willing to make the changes needed then that’s their fault.

Like i said in previous matchup, i will blob, i will zerg and i will beat you :P Will be nice to see how Gandara do without the free points they gained from UW last week.

Looking forward to bumping into DYE, good fights i hope. To AM, learn to fight once in awhile, seeing a 40 man guild group WP is just lol. Grow some balls!

I was going to come in here after reading this yesterday and explain afew things to the people that just do not have a clue, but after even more QQing since yesterday all i’m going to say is this;

We will win however we can, we will blob you just because we can, we will hide behind walls and build AC just because we can, and then when you go to bed, we’ll ring the bat phone and pvd all your stuff back – just because we can.

Im passed caring what morons on the other servers feel nowadays because your forum warriors are either really bad trolls or fail to understand even the simpliest things, unless it’s good fight messages (<3 DYE) so guess what. Deal with it, the Deso apocolypse is coming, we have 500 people ready to go when the leagues start and we’re going to blob everything and win silver league because we are the best thing since sliced bread. /sarcasm

To all those that enjoy the fights and enjoy WvW for what it is, thanks for the fights this week it’s been fun. To all those that would rather cry on the forums about how unfair life is and how unfair the game is, deal with it.

We blob, we zerg, we night cap, we morning cap, we hide during primetime and then we repeat just to watch you cry. We INTENTIONALLY lost some of our best guilds, we deliberatly got all our new pugs into berserker gear and told them not to bother being organised or bother getting on TS.

We are Deso, and we will Desolate you :P

It took me close to 4 hours the first time we got this one. I play a lot of defense and scouting, and zerging WvW is the only way to rewards.

Anet simply has no idea how to reward anything except the zerg.

Not true, a 5 man roaming group gains Wexp faster than a zerg. You just need to know the quickest Wexp farm paths. And borderlands > eb for Wexp farm. Only time I gain more by zerging is when we keep flipping SM when we have a mesmer in, that is all.

Maybe a 5 man group can out WXP a zerg running around like a headless chicken, but no way can they out-wxp a zerg that’s got half a brain. If they get in ONE zerg fight and kill 40+ people that’s a ton of WxP.

When Deso has paintrain events we always try and beat our “Roundhouse kick” wherein we flip everything on the borderland, 1 by 1 till everything is ours. Our last record was 20 minutes 22 seconds. Last time i ran a 24 hour Paintrain i got 100 + WvW ranks and that was with getting into 2 1/2 hour keep fights etc, i’d love to see people get 100+ ranks as a 5 man group and not die due to boredom :P

Really well played to DYE in Deso BL, had to many pugs and people not on TS to be able to beat you more than the few times we did, hope you enjoyed some of the fights nether the less. Wish i could stay on longer so will just have to wait till the week to get my revenge <3

Gandara can give you info on what Deso’s numbers and coverage are like now, we played them a month ago and won by a big point lead, this time Gandara may grab a win against us

Great fun in EB, fought tooth and nail to hold onto SM whilst upgrading everything. I’m logging off after WP is 35% done, told our guys to get that finished! lmao

Really nice fights against Dye and XXX from UW was it? PT is building, give us a week to get organised :P

I split our zerg in EB into 3-4 small groups to stop the blobbing and make it abit fairer, Gandara held on west SM wall for god knows how long till i put the command out to blob it up and paintrain the buggers! they didnt last long lmao Was great all the smaller scale skirmishes was fun <3

You must have had clones up or pets because that sea of red (pet names or w/e) was more than 50. Like i said, i probably got it wrong and had alot of new players with me so was hesitant to enagage. Either way it was a fun night no need to get arsy about it

With two major differences; we only use a WP when dead and we spend our time hunting down enemy zergs / guilds instead of sitting behind 30 AC in a tower waiting for other 2 servers to fight to go PvD something. I get a kitten for reseting WP’d defended keeps, i’ll spend 8 hours doing so if i have to, just a forwarning. Eagerly awaiting to fight Bannershold, are there many people still there from release?

I doubt AM will win the SL,yes they are strong on Reset and weekend but suffer midweek.
My personal favourite is Desolation, they still have some decent guilds like GoD and INVI for example, also a small but fine night team.
They are like a sleeping giant,perhaps someone will wake them up,despite the loss of many guilds they had.

It’s a work in progress, but a guild i created 2 weeks ago now has 250 WvW members with around 140 online during Prime and 40-50 repping. It’s growing every day so by the time we get halfway through silver league you should be seeing PT tags everywhere :P

Highlight was 80 RS chasing my 40 guys from north most supply camp all the way to north bay gate, only for GoD to be waiting and then we trained through them in the choke, i think 4 of our guys died XD

I was there and tbh we were far away from being 80 RS. From my point of view we were maybe 50 not more.

And yeah, you trapped us heavily in front of northern bay. And it was funny though.

But as being from RS we can say you were first running away from us like chickens having nearly equal numbers. Its always about the different views.

Anyway the biggest problems we had fighting vs deso zerg was you commanding them.

Hehe it was probably somewhere in the middle then, i was hesitant to fight at north camp because PT has ALOT of new players to WvW and as we ran away more and more RS caught up, some of my guys were on their first – 2nd day in WvW so they need training :P

And to the RS zergs, especially when your guilds have quite afew players in there, are one of the toughest servers to fight zerg vs zerg. I love it though and it’s always a challenge (like the 15 minute fight on Golanta in EB yesterday whilst we were getting smashed with 3 trebs and mortar fire) You guys just don’t give up, keep it up

I would pay an arm and a leg to have a guild similiar to you on Deso, all week long in Deso you have kept camps locked down and forced me to spend 10 minutes running around inner bay auto attacking in every little hiding place trying to find your pesky thieves that just cap it back as soon as invun wears off lmao.

Yeah we had tons of zerg vs zerg fights, was a pretty good week, resetting RS WP in EB each day was good fun. PT’s first outting during Primetime working alongside GoD for an hour or 2 in RS BL’s. Only bumped into SiN once this week whilst i was commanding in Deso Garrsion, took us 35 minutes to kick SiN and Imp out, it’s a shame really no guild makes me swear or talk nonestop for 10 minutes more than SiN and it’s always edge of your seat fights not knowing whats coming next.

Favorite comedy moment was in EB yesterday where i was leading a PT zerg. We farmed the RS blob inbetween SM and their WP keep, put a merchant on the hill and a couple of AC to defend us whilst we sold our loot then back out for abit to fill backs and then back to merchant. Got 5 exotics yesterday thank you <3

May the matchup gods provide you with one last fun matchup before leagues and before Deso goes Silver, will miss fighting the higher tier zergs, i wonder if the lower tiers are ready for the pain trains?

With the point progression we see at the moment, i fear we at kodash can’t even go to silver league because we make so many points from getting roflstomped by vizuna, sfr, piken and riverside that it is nearly impossible to drop to silver league. (Best example last matchup vs sfr and vizu with +27.847)
So if we wan to leave the league we have to stop playing what isn’t really an option. If that’s what we wanted to do we would have done that in the first place to enter silver league.
I hope i am wrong there as i don’t feel like we are a gold league server with our 6h activity window and 18h outnumbered buff.
But silver league looks like a lot of fun. Enjoy it.

It’s a shame cause Kodash always brings good fights.

I have not been on WvW since the last major patch for WvW.And it seems the same for the whole Deso server.

Is it true DVG left? If so that was the heart that pumped our blood all week long.Never saw CS for weeks before that.Did FG move again?

Funny that Deso is now only a few ranks above Gunnars Hold. That was a dead server when I played there but seems to have pulled its socks up.

Whilst we did intend to drop to silver anyway, the scores we have been getting show the amount of coverage, or lack of coverage that we suffer from now.

DVG, AFTL, TeQ, War, FG are the main guilds that left. DVG got us PPT in off hours, AFTL were always the main guild in home BL putting up a defense with pugs alongside CS and DVG. CS have lost their guild leader / main commander due to RL issues. FG were mainly active each prime time providing entertainment in enemy BL’s.

Indivdually nothing is a major loss, but between these guilds + others that have gone we have lost ALOT of commanders.

However the WvW focused guilds we still have left are now a solid core with no internal fighting. EXG, TLA, Unit, CS, INVI, PT & GoD etc PT is kind of the new DvG but slightly different intentions

We have one of the highest PvE populations of all servers, if they can be dragged into WvW it won’t take long for us to come back fighting.

Deso still has guilds and can field a lot of players if we start winning and people flock to WvW snowballing us. We are rebuilding but I wouldn’t under estimate us

Will be good fun fighting servers I haven’t fought for a very long time, and afew faces I’ve played along side / fought in the past and in Warhammer Online and the old CIR guys scattered through guilds in the lower tiers.

Nice fights each afternoon before primetime on Deso BL Imp & MERC. Keep it up

I’ve capped about 2 ruins….ever and the only time i have ever called one out by a name was when a server started trebbing inner garrison from it.

Whilst i agree that the banner mechanic is a little absurd, i still like it the way it is. Sorry but if 3 guilds can’t organise themselves to keep people away from the lord thats tough kitten!

Something like this IS needed though, a PuG zerg can get through 2 reinforced gates easily within 2 minutes 30. A zerg consisting of 3 guilds could get through much faster and all without popping a battle marker so some process is needed to prevent the attackers zerging a fully upgraded keep and flipping it before defenders can turn up.

I’ve done my fair share of 2+ hour fights in the lord room trying to cap a circle, and the majority of the time i do it with a full zerg of PuGs getting other commanders to take small teams with them to stop people getting into the lord room. I very rarely go straight for a cap if they have people alive around the lord room because all you are doing is watsing time trying to cap a circle when the lord will just get ressed and giving the enemy time to regroup and re-organise.

First you kill them all, then you cap it. If you can’t manage to kill them all don’t waste time trying to cap it :P

lol and what’s going to stop an 80 man blob with 3 of these against a 40 man blob with 1?
