Thanks for trying to root cause and resolve this issue however … can we please have the default map cap for population restored between your tests etc. Better to play WvW with lag than not at all because of Q’s

NA would destroy EU servers through purely coverage. EU would dominate EU prime but then NA would take control of the night and build offense wp’s. As NA log off the early log ones from SEA etc would counter any morning force EU could field and then as Sea moves into prime they are still holding upgraded and sieged objectives.

Now I’m on NA I didn’t realise just how big the sea presence is, for EUrs think vizunah style 3 guild blobs tearing around at about 1300-1700 GMT+1 hehe.

So EU would dominate for around 6-7 hours, NA servers would dominate the rest. And from what I’ve seen in NA the EU melee blobs would rip NA blobs to shreds hehe

I have racked up 4,000 hours playtime, i have only ever run one dungeon and i’m still on the 1st mission living story. I live and breathe WvW and love it, aslong as there are people to play with and to kill, or waypoints to farm i will keep playing and loving the game!

I have nearly full ascended armor and weapons on my WvW main (Warrior) just need 2 more berserker armor bits. All got through drops in WvW, i don’t have any crafting above 400 hehe

5/6/3 is better, must have 5 sec weapon switch. Sod dualing sword. Hammer / Sword/Warhorn ftw. 3k hours commanding on warrior, wouldn’t change it for the world. Although it dies fast when a horde of angry desolonians focuses haha

Commanded with standard 5/6/3 shout heal build for last year. Mixed and matched gear and fine tuned. Can tank most zergs and win a large majority of 1vs1 that try gank me open field lol got a mix of soldiers, berserkers and knights, need more ascended WvW drops to remove rest of soldiers haha

And yet still people felt they needed to sling their wang around and yet i still farm them in game lol so i speak up, and i love every minute farming your so called “good” commanders.

You have about 3-4 good commanders on that server, 2-3 very good. The rest get a kitten farming EB thinking they are good lol

Keep going Deso, the community is a joke and apart from the 20-25 people i actually respect on that server, sod the rest. Half the time you are “We are winning, we play to win, we are awesome” the rest of the time you are losing “We are slacking it’s ok, we don’t want top look at them losers PPTing” and that is the main reason i left. You don’t play to win? Fine, i do.

It’s funny you say that. I respect you as a commander in fights and so on. Definetly top 10. But you were never the one to siege up / defend alot when there were fights around instead when you were on Desolation. So you say play to win…that is PPT – a way you never once played when I was with you. That’s just…strange. Do you just mean win fights? Because most of the time (55-60%) I see equally numbered fights Desolation will win the fights.

I wont delve into this to much, but the hours i played determined the playstyle and i shall elaborate a little, but first i am judged by the way i command. People never noticed when i was running around solo scouting zergs, sieging up keeps or sniping with groups of 5.

But anyway, my time (1530-1730 GMT) wasn’t about sieging up our keeps or defending for one simple reason, we always had more numbers than the enemy and i could rally a zerg out of thin air. This zerg was used to reset everything the SFR morning / day crew had been upgrading to even the score / give us an advantage going into prime time. It would directly influence Desos PPT as small squads / guilds could flip objectives more readily / k-trains could roll through a border and flip a whole map within the space of a tick, and thus increase our PPT. It meant the enemy had to bunker up to re-upgrade or re-siege objectives to ensure they had some defense going into primetime which meant they weren’t out taking our stuff.

As soon as i came over to SFR alot of people commented on this fact and was quite shocked at Desos early evening numbers now and look at SFRs PPT in the afternoon without a large zerg to fend them off / apply pressure. Not uncommon nowadays to see SFR tick 400+. SFR understand this, SFR play WvW with better organisation and better theories on how to win matchups and more importantly, people actually listen to proposed tactics.

Deso always complain and moan about SFRs numbers, and i was guility of it aswell whilst on Deso, but the actual fact is Deso often had the same number of people during the day availible to play WvW, they just lost hope. Wheni first came over i couldn’t believe how few players SFR would actually have during the morning / day in comparison to what i thought was the case. They won the tournament and matchups because of one simple fact. They are more organised and use far superior tactics / scouts (baring Desos night force <3 Moorta and Belonis hehe)

WvW PPT isn’t just about upgrading and sieging structures. It helps, but isn’t the way to play all the time.

When you bring an entire zoneblob of 80 players, where 50 of them are banners to keep your kitten alive over and over and over while facing a 40-45 man open raid – of course it will take forever to get you down but I am yet to lose a fight to you on SFR when you don’t have more than 2x our numbers Ins

And there is Deso’s second problem, they simply can’t count! I’ve had a full zone blob on me once since i moved over. It’s actually quite hard to get a blob during primetime because SFR has so many closed raids and guilds raiding that you’re lucky if you can get over 40. Unless of course you play in EB, but i’ve not played in EB more than a handful of times.

And once Deso find out i’m leading a blob usually comes hunting me straight away, kinda fun

Once Kresh pulls his finger out and gets the video up of 40 of us killing 3 guild blob + pugs with like 40-45 of us you shall see :P

PT has a completely empty EOTM. Whisper me so i can taxi enemy guilds in (red or blue) to get all guilds in one instance :P

Jokes aside we’re a community guild that runs whatever gear, builds and mostly whatever classes people want to play with. And we probably have more fun in every raid than what others in a week. The amount of precursors we get is beyong ridculous

Well PT is still growing, 250 members and we can pull in 20 man guild groups at all times of the day easily. 40+ for any other raid is not a problem.

We are having ALOT of applications from other servers, Deso will soon be the FOTM server it seems in EU T1 as we are still in slack mode and dominating matchups.

I need more commanders for PT, PT will one day be running guild raids around the clock, farming EOTM or decimating WP’s in WvW.

Atleast there was always people to fight at any hour of the day or night. And the fights with SFR were always good

So here we are, nearly at the end of the tournament and what a tournament it has been. PT have been going all out managing to field anywhere from 20-80 man groups nearly 18 hours a day. We are all tired, we are all burnt out but the fun is just about to begin. 1 week until we say NO to boring PPT and HELLLLO lootbags.

We might be a community guild, we allow you to run any build you like, turn up to any or no raids. But we know what we are doing. We have recently recruited more commanders, some from other servers, some have returned back to Deso to fight the good fight.

What taking your garrison with a full defense and then getting focused to high hell and back? Yeah it was bad lmao apart from all the tears and egos i’ve had a brilliant 7 weeks, no other server comes close to giving the best zerg vs zerg fights when i’m commanding. And smashing Rayya or Rayva is it (NFR?) Into pieces everytime i see him after calling us out from getting his ultimate dominator (gz btw) was the only thing keeping me interested in this tournament.

Without SFR i probably would have gone back to farming EOTM weeks ago And that is a compliment haha strange for forums eh?

This is one of the best online battle experts I’ve played with and I would definitely put him in the category of one of the best in this game. People stop whatever they’re doing and come to WvW when he’s online. He commands large zergs of 50+ people so easily and nearly always with results. A truly great GW2 player.

Yeah way more active than ours, we tend to spend our time in game fighting and PvDing than browsing forums. Mwah x hehe. Big words? i guess your forum font size is quite big, as for the rest it’s just gibberish

As for Gandara not recruiting anymore, Deso still is and we’ll quite happily take more people / more guilds / NA guilds. If you want to move to a new server and want a WvW guild then the PT recruitment thread is afew threads below this, check us out and stop Qing up Gandara even more :P

PT has steadily grown, had alot of applications from people coming from other servers and we are sitting at around 230 members. We can form up 20-30 man raids most times of the day.

As we have trained more commanders you will find organised PT raids from the hours of:

WvW Raids:
1530-1700 &1900-2200 GMT Monday
1530-1700 & 1800-2200 Tuesday
1530-2000 GMT Wednesday (Commander training event, all new commanders sign up for 30 minute slot each with a closed raid) some raids after
1530-1700 & 1800-2200 GMT Thursday
1530-1700 & 1800-2200 GMT Friday

Guild missions:
1800 GMT Monday

If these times suit you and you’re bored of your guild only logging into WvW for 2-3 hours a day, consider coming on over

Saturday and Sunday we dont ever have planned form ups, but you’ll usually find PT commanders leading in public channels on TS. I’ll usually pop on and a lead a drunken paintrain.

These are just our organised form up times (Recently we have been running with 45-60 PT closed raid on TS) we have an Australlian commander and a Canadian commander that will soon be leading our early morning & late night forces respectively. There is always PT in WvW, 24/7.

I am actively looking for more commanders, old or new, to join us and help turn PT into more of a powerhouse. Many guilds and servers dislike us, but that’s because we can spawn a zerg out of no where and lay waste to their WP’s before they know what’s going on or we just tend to blob them.

The PT you guys fought in season 1 is all but gone, there was a mass culling and we have been actively training everyone. Talk to afew guilds that have fought Deso since we moved up the rankings. There’s afew vids of 40+ PT taking out 3+ guilds at once and we loved fighting GH melee train

Ah you guys are just bitter because we whooped you so hard in silver league. Apart from afew Gandara (Scareclaw SoD) and afew others i often chatted to whilst we were fighting against ya.

And when we come over please do organise enemy servers against us, PT is far more organised nowadays, during season 1 we had half – three quarters of our roster filled with people new to WvW, they are now all trained and we mostly spend our time zerg hunting

Da Pain Train is ready for the 2nd league, after months since the first league we have learnt alot on how to run a community guild aiming to be a stepping stone from PvE and how to do this in a way that doesn’t cause problems that we encountered last time.

There are alot of changes coming to the guild, and this recruitment thread will outline the new PT.

What is PT?

PT is for everyone that likes to WvW, if it’s 1 hour a week or 60 hours a week. New to WvW and no idea where to start? Join PT. Fire away with any questions or queries you may have without fear of being ridiculed like team chat. There will be no elitism, it is aimed to be a sociable environment.

We currently have a very active core that were mostly new to WvW, commanders and experienced members have educated and trained them and now we more than capable of holding our own in any situation. Our members don’t just log into WvW for 2 hours a day for raids, we live in WvW and cater to all players, whether you enjoy scouting, sniping, defending or mindlessly zerging about. We’re not just a dedicated WvW guild, we’re bigger than that. We provide a guild for those players that are highly skilled but unable to play much so can’t be apart of a hardcore WvW guild.

We use a public TS for WvW provided by the Deso Community.

Recruitment

We are only recruiting players that have no guild for WvW and all players must rep PT 100% whilst in WvW.
There are no mandatory form ups and you will not be kicked if you don’t play WvW for any amount of time, aslong as when you do play WvW you are reppin us. We do not require you to run mandatory builds but we do ask you to run full, or mostly, PVT gear until you are experienced enough to stay alive. We have suggested builds on our forum section that you may choose to follow.

How is PT structured?

PT has many ranks and this is how the new system will work.

Da Ugly One – My rank

PT Command -Commanders that lead for PT and help maintain the guild.

PT Vanguard – Members that have been with PT from the start, always rep and have permissions to promote or kick players and full access to the banks, this rank is earnt, not applied for.

Paintrainer – Members that rep 100% even during PvE.

Member – Members that have proven they rep PT consistently, not just for our assigned raid times, and are not just here for karma trains and loot. These guys love WvW and actively help Deso.

VIP – Members that belong to other WvW guilds, these guys have helped PT out and repped us at random times since the last league. We value their commitment and they will be allowed to keep their spot in PT. This rank is not applied for it has been earnt.

Trial Member – All new invitees are placed under this rank, once you have proven you are commited to improving in WvW or to helping Desolation at all times of the day, you will be promoted by Vanguards.

GvG

PT is starting up a GvG squad and this will be lead by All Shall Perish to cater to the needs of our more hardcore members. Anyone is able to be apart of this team but there are stricter rules and regulations as set forth by Perish.

PT Events

So on joining PT, what kind of events can you expect?

PT will be running 7 days a week with some kind of event. We often have commanders running open raids throughout the day and late into the night / morning.

We have organised form ups at 1530 – 1700 GMT Monday – Friday.
The MOTD is updated on a daily basis by commanders that will be running an event that evening.
We run open raids often reaching 70+ members on TS if needed, if more spread of our forces are required for a decent PPT, you will often find PT running a closed raid in a passworded TS channel with anywhere from 20-45 members.

PT is very active and you will always have 10+ people to play with at most times of the day (Even more once recruitment opens and the tournament is underway)

PT recruitment will open on Friday the 21st of March at 1530 GMT

Pfft just go take keeps / towers when you have no supply by facerubbing everything down. Problem solved :P

As much as i hate trebs, they are needed in the current meta to slow a zerg down long enough for the defenders to arrive after the scout on the treb reports that he needs help. Without trebs behind gates the amount of people bothering to scout will go down drastically.

Warrior all the way, racked up 1600 hours and 90k+ kills commanding on mine And yes i have a 80 Necro, Guardian and Ele aswell.

If Warrior excelled at being able to tag as many enemies for lootbags, whilst maintaining it’s mobility, as well as Guardian and Necro i would never command on another class again.

You can see the difference in NA and EU meta, and the reasons each side gives. NA is slower paced, more numbers of different classes are present and maybe you need different strategies. In the EU it’s simple, form a train and smash everything to pieces.

All the people saying you need to be providing party members boons etc are wrong, that’s what your group members are for. If your group / all groups are providing the boons that means everyone is moving forward, not just your hero group of 5 spartans charging in. You need to rely on group members so it gives you a decent representation of how your zerg is doing overall, and use single stabilitys for oh **** moments to keep yourself alive. The amount of times i crease up watching other guardian commanders that are shouting all forward, he has 10 guys on him and there’s 35 people behind him bouncing off spectral walls and lines of stupid.

So, ignoring what each class brings to the table, why is Warrior superior to every other class for commanding? Mobility combined with it’s Survivability. Funnily enough i can stay alive alot longer on my necro at all times, but it lacks mobility. Guardian i find to have nice mobility, but abit of skill lag and you’re gonna hit the floor faster than a Warrior or Necro up against an enemy train.

When commanding a massive K-train (or Pain Train as we call it on Deso where we just smash enemy blobs into the ground till they rage quit, then we go cap their stuff) the first engagement is usually the decisive point, i run common commands that everyone on the server knows, i can say 2 words and everyone will use the skills needed at that precise point to land a massive co-ordinated burst. Warrior is brill for this because i can easily leap using 1h sword to get in position, switch to hammer and earthshaker the designated point that i want bursted. All within the space of 2 seconds i have repositioned and landed the burst marker.

Likewise if you get caught out of position or have to suddenly reverse, you can turn and within a second you are on the tail of your pug zerg and that now becomes the head of the train giving you time to decide what course of action to take in the few seconds it takes the zerg to reposition on yourself.

Any noob can command on a Warrior or Guardian, Necro needs abit better placement. But honestly, in my personnal opinion, Warrior can do what any of the others can do, and do it better. Warriors has so many more viable builds for commanding and can easily switch weapons to accomadate any play style.

Guild action can be great fun, ran a PT event for 17 hours today. Sometimes running a zone blob if it was quiet, untagged running with 30-35 fighting enemy zone blobs.

3k kills, 600+ heavy loot bags and a loot pool of 2 precursors and 8 ascended chests for members. We love EOTM atm! Best thing is if an overflow dies, everyone finds a full one and you spend 10 min getting everyone in then just carry on haha.

I love the different terrain and objectives, people don’t guard towers or keeps religiously, everyone just plays more for fun. We ran a reset raid for 1 hour before we got bored of hitting objectives with 5 AC on every gate so went back to EOTM lol

I couldn’t be happier if WvW turned into EOTM

But red keep lord room is a lot easier to hold and prevent enemies getting back in compared to the other keeps. God forbid you have to have some organisation to take the WP’d keep ….. Lol

Everytime we’ve attacked it, we’ve taken it so no complaints here

Rank 1100 or so across characters. 3 ascended rings (2 Celestrial) and a Ascended Berserker weapon. Should probably count my lucky stars from previous posts lol.

ye say that to 2 server att the same eb keep at the same time there go on the wall on ea side and build ac so deso and gh got 2 ac on ea wall then the gh was wiping us and deso make sure that we cant get in the keep sure that is not double team and then u got gh on the left gate and deso on the right sure that is not double team if that not it then what is. deso were at the keep 6 times and gh 4 times and if u focus this much and dont fight the other server this is not even fun to see 2 sad server fight 1 at the same time to win a fight still the new low server

I didn’t see you complaining when we were constantly in GH EB keep fighting and you were happily PvDing all their towers. You even came up to the keep and got wiped.

Either way had fun in EB most the time, till skill lag kicked in meh lol Finished 16 hour commanding spree with us taking GH Garri, more AC’s guys build more AC’s lol! Should be a fun week

Erm we were in EB from about 1100-2230. The only time we wiped in GH BL was when we got the inner gate down and charged into all GH AC with IRON & Crow defending losing half our numbers.

We wiped on AC, ran back and just ran passed FSP & GH fighting on the east outer in Garrison and used it as an opportunity to nuke the gate down. GH wiped you so you didn’t let anyone do anything lmao
