7.) lol Rush is so broken right now, that thief is so mad.

its supposed to work this way, most of the time it hits air, for that its broken also the slow animation it need to be faster.

It’s broken in both a good way and a bad way. The good way is that if you use it on a target and they blink/leap away, rush will always chase them, not matter what. You can go halfway across the map if a mesmer or thief blink away from you mid rush and it will still hit. I only use Rush to engage on a target to close the gap and on targets who are trying to get away from me. Using it in a duel is a waste of dps because of how unreliable it is. It is also a valuable tool when used defensively for kiting other meele. If you detarget mid fight and run towards somebody, you will run through them and catch them off guard.

So since no one is really giving you feedback, I will!

1.) You spend a lot of time running (or jumping) around, make a decision and go there. You’re wasting time either way. You go home to fight a 3v2 where you probably should have gone mid to fight and claim it 100% since home already had 2 of your teammates on it. You lost mid because of this, your mid player was fighting a 1v2 and you should have been there to support him.
2.) Speaking of mid, you go right into the fight and pop rampage. It’s almost NEVER advisable to pop rampage right off the fight. You’re goal as full Zerker is to do as much constant dps as possible. You should do your regular axe/shield, GS damage rotation first and then go into rampage to finish them off. Once you get back out of rampage, your cooldowns will be back up for another round of burst, which is even more dps.
If you wait to pop rampage, the enemy players will be low and less equipped with cooldowns and dodge rolls. They will be sitting ducks for when you do rampage, and you will have an easy stomp with the constant stability it gives you.
3.) You were never going to win that fight mid, you should have said, hey I need a peel off mid, I’m heading: (insert site here), and you should have ran like hell. Instead you stayed to fight and died for absolutely no reason. It was more downtime for you and your team suffered for it (except now I see that you decapped far to which that I say: any good team would have stopped that, you would have been snared and dead a lot sooner than you were). The only time you do stay on point is if you absolutely know you’re going to get backed up with 2+ within 10 seconds.
4.) The rotate home was good, as your teammates had far. Finish your Axe 1 chain if you’re gonna do it. You double stomped the necro, when you should have just cleaved since there was still a threat on the point. Good kill on the thief lol he’s mad.
5.) The rotate far is sketchy, you had just wiped 3 of them and you go far as a zerker alone. Fortunately for you the enemy team didn’t go home like they should have (horrible rotations on their part), but with any other team would would have been 1v3 and you would have quickly died with no chance of escape.
6.) When you downed the engineer mid during the second team fight you didn’t follow up for some reason. No idea why you did that. Make you sure watch your axe 1, icon when auto attacking stealthed targets, when you hit them it will switch to the next line in the chain. You did it a few times, found the stealthed player, but neglected to follow up and the engineer was ressed. Misplay on you big time there.
7.) lol Rush is so broken right now, that thief is so mad.
8.) In the 3rd mid fight vs the thief and guardian you panic dodged after you blocked the thief’s first attack. Then you start swinging back at him with your GS and you didn’t use WW on him before switching back to axe. You had 3 more skills up on your GS and you didn’t use them. Then you switched to axe, didn’t use shield bash at all to push out more damage, you could have set up a nice burst there, but you didn’t. Then you use a dodge roll on rampage for no reason. Basically you wasted your skills/didn’t use all of them, then paniced into a very predictable, healing signet rampage.

All I can say is: poor Five Gauge, I bet he’s ready for the league system lol, he was the only good player in that enemy team.

it’s not only fast hands which is needed baseline. also gaining adrenalin each weapon swap is super important.
Especally with berserk specialization it is necesarry to get enough adrenalin – without that trait it would be terrible.

So even if fast hands would be baseline, you will have to trait discipline anyway just to handle the amount of adrenalin.

And pls don’t tell me now I have to play with signet of fury or to the limit etc.

Adrenalin generation isn’t the problem really. Also, discipline will stay a viable trait line even without FH. With berserker you can use rage elite to gain instant acces to berserk and your burst skill.

Like OP has pointed out, FH is so integrated in the Warrior playstyle that a build without discipline line is very rare. It’s just that some traits are split up in weird lines (why isn’t 100% crit on burst in discpline (the Original burst line but in Arms?))

Agreed, I’m running a Berserker build and I have absolutely no issue building adrenaline right now. Warriors have plenty of ways to create Adrenaline. Almost every tree has a trait that helps you get what you need and if there isn’t one there are utilities that do it. Berserker’s Fury and Cleansing ire give me all the passive Adren i need right now In my current build.

It seems like one change is all that it would take to prevent warriors from being pigeon holed into the Discipline tree, however it might not be that simple…Lets look at the facts. The only meta spec that a warrior has that does not use weapon swap and the discipline specialization whether it be PvP, PvE or WvW, is Phalanx Strength warrior. Every other meta spec — All PvP conquest , all WvW frontline metas/backline/roaming, and all PvE, use Discipline weapon swap because it provides the most utility, DPS and use of sigils.

The proven top warrior players of every single aspect of the game, no matter what game mode they decide to play, spec almost religiously into discipline for a MINOR trait. The warrior community seems to have come to a collective decision to support this decision/religion as well. Discipline seems like it is a proven must, it’s been over three years for us to learn this.

On a personal level: I’ve been playing for three years, I main warrior, I have 2 of them, both in full ascended gear. I am preparing for ranked queues and I am VERY excited for raids. Berserker has great potential in BOTH of these environments. There are also very cool, new and upgraded traits in both the Arms and Defense specializations. I want to use these abilities Anet has implemented and play with them to make the very best spec I can possibly make. However I can’t do that because I am extremely limited to Discipline tree, leaving me only 2 available tree’s left to pick from and If I want to use the new specialization, I only have 1 tree to pick from. This gets even worse in conquest because warriors are also forced into the Defense specialization as well (all sPvP meta builds use the defense tree, there has never, in the history of GW2, been a meta sPvP spec for warrior that does NOT utilize the defense tree ). So as it stands, in SPvP if I want to create a Berserker build, I am pigeon holed/forced (for Berserker) into Discipline, Defense and Berserker.

I have followed the warrior forms since I started playing. I know this subject is VERY prevalent in the warrior community and that I am almost literally beating a dead horse. I am not demanding a change and I am not begging for a change. I want to bring up the discussion once again and lay down the facts. Now that Berserker has been somewhat tested and nothing in the warrior meta seems to be changing, can we brainstorm and come up with a solution that helps the warrior become more flexible?
Maybe making 5 second weapon swap passive is the solution, maybe it’s not?

This all being said, try my Berserker sPvP build that does not use the discipline tree trololol. It was what brought up this discussion/problem in my brain to begin with. Tell me how you like it compared to other specs that use Discipline.

I’ve been playing the game since the very first month the game was released. I love this game and everything about it. The majority of my time has been PvPing at a high level on my warrior. I am looking for a mature, hardcore raiding/PvE guild for next expansion. I wanna make some friends, make some gold and get some loot with a group of players who know their class and want to do things at a higher level other than just casual gaming. Fire Runes can be swapped in, and if you do that, run heal signet instead. All depends on your role. If you’re gonna be holding home and 1v1ing (which is dumb because ele’s will always outplay you in that role and this build isn’t made for that), then play cele/heal signet.
This spec is best used for team fights or quick rotates back to home to assist your DD ele holding home.
How to play: Engage the targeted enemy from a distance with your longbow. Use your signet to get full adren and set down a fire field right away, arcing shot and fan of fire to lay down initial damage. Then leap in for the killing blow with savage leap, your leap finisher will activate giving your might everytime you are struck. Continue to sword 1 your target for the crits and furious stacks for more condi damage and try to set up good flurry or shield/final thrust combos on your teams target. Don’t force kills, if it’s getting too hot back out and reset your combo again. Remember to stack on them when your switch back to longbow for the 6 stacks of bleed from your geo sigil.

For team fights: If you find you’re dying in team fights, you’re going too deep. If the enemy team is focusing you, get a team to peel for you because you are probably soloqueueing and no one peels for players in soloqueue. You have plenty of utilities to get out of a bind if you have your team peeling for you. It can actually be considered beneficial for your team, if the enemy team to focus you. While they are busy trying to kill you, your team can counter them hard and turn around the team fight entirely. With your 2 endure pains, a shield block, defiant stance and 24k hp you just don’t die and the burst from mesmers and thieves are entirely mitigated for that duration. While you are being focused, your cleansing ire produces more adreneline which will allow you to use your bow elite skill more and cleanse conditions.

“Just don’t vendor your stuff.” Uhh thanks guys. I was selling things and then I must have logged off for the day and then you can’t buyback things after you already log. Yeah I check my buyback tab every time before I log now, but the loss is already done. You shouldn’t be able to vendor things of value that easily.
And yeah, 50g for the bow, but I’m saving for a legendary right now and every little bit of gold counts. Now I have to replace the bow and replace the gold I lost unnecessarily. It could be an easy fix.

Anet, it is FAR too easy to accidently vendor your ascended weapons and gear. Please change it. It should not be possible to vendor an ascended piece as easy as it is to vendor a grey… I vendored my ascended longbow earlier this week, and you don’t even have a ticket system where I can ask a game dev. to get it back for. So, screw me I guess. It cost me about 100g for that longbow. At least!

All I am asking is for you to make a prompt that pops up and says “You are about to sell your ascended weapon, are you sure?” Then Yes/No.

Sagramor has it. The fire field covers an entire point, provides 100% condition removal, but most importantly provides a fire field for blasting and leaping in.
Warriors need to understand the concept of might stacking, it separates the good from the bad. Learn to might stack with your fire field while in combat and you will suddenly see yourself dominating your enemies.
Remember, warrior blasts AND leaps in fire fields provide sources of might for you and your team. Projectiles are also more effective when shot through a fire field. Try it out.

I was a little bit ruthless when commenting on this video, but it was within good reason.

The very beginning of this clip shows him being attacked by that asura mesmer and shrugging and laughing at him. If you see he types out at the end of that first segment, “that was sad,” right before it cuts away to his laughably cheesy intro. (comon dude, lol really?)

That really irritates me, bad warriors making bad videos and then calling other players game play “sad.” So naturally, I decided to take it upon myself to show how SAD his game play really was, maybe he wont be so arrogant next time and take it upon himself to learn a little bit more about his class.

I don’t have time at the moment to produce and edit a video (college student). There are some old videos out there of myself in some tourneys and 2v2 tourneys fighting some pretty prominent players however.

This one is an old 2v2 tourney about 10 months ago. My partner was Breakstar. In this video we managed to defeat Aeroxe and Jin Da Vik who have both been top 10 on the team queue and solo queue leaderboards at one point or another in their GW2 careers. They also have produced multiple and respectable guides, they are incredibly talented players and it was an honor to be able to play against them.

That being said, I would love to make a video playing and I will eventually. But in the meantime I would be happy to duel with or even roam with anyone who wants to. I am always looking for a learning experience. I’m on NSP for the moment.

EDIT: Ugh, my first round was horrible. lol

Let’s focus on that first fight with the Necro…

Right off the back you waste blade trail and fan of fire, for no reason.
- Blade trail can hit from 1-3k depending on if it crits or not and adds cripple which is huge when fighting a class like a necro who relys on maintaining distance by kiting and using fears.
- Fan of fire does ~900 each hit so that’s a total possibility of 2.7k dmg minimum, NOT EVEN INCLUDING, the burning damage that it does as well.
- You were oblivious to the very obvious set up for the pet stun, immediately broke it with stability, even though no damage was being done to you because the necro was obviously out of range, and then you waste a dodge roll for no reason rolling into the him. If you were trying to avoid the boon strip, you failed, all he had to do was wait for you to do your useless roll and you were done from that point on.

You wasted your stability immediately and then your berserk rage as well…you were out of defensive utilities ~7 seconds into the encounter. Not very good play.

You then missed your bulls rush, had a terrible reaction time to cancel it when it missed, and then panic swapped back to your GS when non of your longbow skills went off.

You then entirely missed ANOTHER opportunity to hit him with blade trail (which is a GS/LB warriors main source of physical damage btw), missed your 1 spam rotation terribly and then FINALLY MANAGED TO DO AN ACTUAL ROTATION! Idk how.

You then proceed to miss your GS 1 ability a few more times, dodge roll 2 times in a row for no reason again, then pop stability immediately off cool-down.

GOD, I don’t even know how you won that duel. That Necro must be playing on a toaster. Or with inverted controls, or something. GG.

Painful to watch, lol. I watched you pop all your CDs against that necro immediately, miss multiple skills for no reason and then miss your hundred blades even after it was apparent that bulls rush didn’t land. I stopped watching when you tried to bulls rush that Ele with stability. Ugh, gross.

Nah in all seriousness not a lot of people stream. Not since defektive went inactive. He has a few guides out there that work but are outdated. My advice? Play standard hambow and watch Blu’s tournament streams for “high end” gameplay.

There are still a few warriors out there who play on top teams. I’m not gonna name drop because that just causes fights. Just keep practicing. Many players pick up a warrior, play a spec like hambow and do well, it’s easy to do that with the current state warrior is in. Warrior is easy to pick up and compete when compared to a class like a Mesmer or a thief. However very few warriors are actually experienced enough to have reached the skill cap and full potential of the class. Those warriors are the ones you see on top teams, the others just talk trash and get rolled over by the good ones.

First of all, you never specified what you were doing. I run full divinity and zerker when I run a destroyer build zerging with my guild. I do not run it when roaming in WvW. Relax guys <3. It’s going to be ok.

There ya go, you wont do any damage, but you will heal a kitten ton, revive faster, dodge roll a kitten ton to mitigate damage, provide buffs and condition cleansing for your team, be annoying as kitten with your ability to stun, snare, cripple and weaken players, and be an unstoppable stomp bot with all your stabilities.

Your spec —-
Spiked armor is useless because if anyone you are fighting is intelligent they wont focus you unless they have to.
Warhorn is stronger then empowered allies because it removes conditions and conditions suck, and your banner is already buffing anyways. Your team would appreciate the condition cleansing into boons much more than a small damage buff. Remember they can’t do damage if they are dead!
Bow I understand because you are lazy and like the easy condition cleanse with cleansing ire, and pin down is OP but you have no mobility. Sword, warhorn will allow you to stay on targets and keep them pinned down at MUCH longer then the bow will ever be able to do. You don’t have any damage either so the rest of your bow skills are useless. Final thrust on sword can still do ~3-5k damage in your bunker spec when used correctly. With only your mace and shield you will probably find yourself chasing down targets longer then you need to.

Asura for pvp, the animations for hammer and bow are smoother and your swing animations are harder to see.

Charr or Norn for zerging and bunkering in tpvp. Makes you a bigger target which is your job if you’re bunkering.

For the love of god don’t make a condition warrior. Build a full zerkers set with full divinity runes and practice with that. Condition warriors are useless.

…and it’s not like they are paying for it either, I am, I should have control over my characters on my own account anyways. I’m just asking for them to unlock it for me.

I have climbed the top of the soloqueue and teamqueue leaderboards with this exact build. It works and is incredibly useful in team fights. People hate it and I love being incredibly frustrating to kill which is exactly what this build brings to the fight.

Jsu (Elementalist/Warrior) – Jsu is the PvP Team Leader. Jsu has been around the pvp community since the launch of GW2.

v3ck (Engineer/Necromancer) – v3ck is joO Binder’s Guild Leader. v3ck has also been around the pvp scene since beta/start of Guild Wars 2.

Interpretor (Warrior) – We picked interpretor up shortly after keys had to go back to school. Interpretor is known for his OP bunker warrior and loud voice at the mid fights. You can often find him calling targets and harassing our team to kill things.

Breakstar (Ranger/Mesmer) – Breakstar is our allstar backpoint player. We recently added breakstar a few weeks ago and he’s really shined with his positioning, mid-point support, and 1v1’s on the backpoint.

Salphir (Elementalist) – Salphir was our last and final pick up for joO Binder gaming. Salphir has impressed us with his solid positioning in mid fights and clutch game plays. Salphir is also diversified in other classes.

Lets talk Spvp, I’ve used it. Works decently.

Rampage is good for 1v1s, but that’s about it. I use it on my warrior when I’m bored and wanna roll through low MMR solo queue games cheaply against not-so-expert players. (rank ~70 atm). If you get placed against some better players it isn’t as faceroll.

If you plan on using it, go far point right away. Use a full stun warrior, empty your stun rotation into the defender, go into rampage, empty another full stun rotation, and then get out of rampage, hit with your normal stun rotation. By then he should be dead 99.99% of the time. Enjoy the faceroll and easy wins I guess if your enemy is stupid.

PS: any aoe situation when fighting in middle is horrible for you. Don’t do it.

I assume this is for solo queue which btw, Skyhammer should be removed from the rotation because it’s a poorly designed map…anywaysssss.

Just play faceroll 0/10/30/0/30, mace/shield, hammer with heal signet, zerker stance, balance stance, dolyak and rage signet. No brainer, have fun.

Looking for a serious team with goals of top 150 at the very least. Started tpvp (~350 tpvp games so far) about 4 months ago and I loved it. I have had some success in solo queue (top 100) but that only goes so far as you all know. I feel like I have the experience now to join a serious team so here I am. I know my stuff, I’ve placed high in other mmos before, i don’t want to waste my time or yours. Lets keep it that way.

Yeah if you move forward while casting the skill, the skill will cast, you will move a TINY bit, and then stop moving. This was not how it was before, I main warrior I do this everyday lol.

Update : Fierce Blow may also be experiencing the same issues. In the meantime switching to another spec.

There is an extremely annoying delay after using the skill Staggering Blow .
Using the ability basically renders you useless for ~.5 seconds. It may not seem like a lot but it is truly irritating.

If bug – Please fix it.
If intentional – Please reconsider.

Dont know if youve noticed, but DH is the powerhouse server this week, teaming up against them with DR (stronger that us on reset) Will in the end give you guys more points, thus making us in last place, where as on the other hand, taking points off of you will inturn help get us to second

So you’re playing for second place? Obviously the tactics of a superior server. You attack the larger population server and the one that controls SM (DH). Even now as DH holds SM you still double team us.
If you stopped double teaming us, this tier would be much more enjoyable for everyone. You might drop down a tier but then you will actually be in a tier that suits IoJ’s population anyways. So who cares? Why stay in a tier where you can’t compete?

I think you might actually be surprised at what will happen if you attack DH too instead of tunnel visioning us. IoJ does have better players then DH. This is apparent. You will compete better then you think.
