Sandy’s tip: 0/30/30/10/0. Take Far-reaching Manipulation, Harmonious Mantra, PU, Mender’s Purity.

Path 1- After the Ooze: casting healing mantra for swiftness, pre-cast MI, turn at the corner. Run past the risen group, at the drake group in the center, Decoy, then blink up to the low cliff, use focus to pull the oozes away. Use Mantra to keep up swiftness and cleanse cripple.

Path 2- To Belka: pre-cast healing mantra for swiftness. Run past the first Risen, dodge his pull. Focus pull the second group of risen away, precast MI. When making the turn at the corner, dodge if the risens are aggro, cleanse the poison. Before aggroing the Deadeye, Decoy, then Blink forward to the stacking spot.

Path 2- The spider tunnel: pre-cast healing mantra. Hug the left side, dodge at the first corner, Decoy. When stealth is about to wear off, blink as far as you can at the second corner. Jump to the wall, cleanse if necessary. Dodge twice through the hole in the wall.

Focus pull the two risens to the left. Slot mantra of concentration, re-cast healing mantra for swiftness (or swap it to signet then swap back to the mantra for more charges). After the tunnel, pre-cast MI, buff swiftness, blink forward when you’re about to come out of stealth and within a reaching distance to the cliff.

To Brie: I would save MI before the Room with Deadeyes. With enough navigating skills, you don’t really need stealth before that. Start up with Decoy or Veil, then channel MI. Apply stability when you’re out of stealth/running past the asura at the choke point, then blink forward. Dodge if you have Deadeyes on you. If you are stun-locked and multiple Deadeyes are on you, you can use blink as a stunbreak, then Blurred Frenzy until all the marks are off. Afterwards, run as far as you can out of their range.

On the other hand, this is what I’ve received by bringing my fashion from dungeons to PvP.

Do I know the encounter? I do. Do I have to risk myself meleeing him? Eh… nope. I camp Gsword and still have the same result. Because of its big hit box, Berserker actually deals more damage and survives longer than my swordmen.

Ssshhhh… Dual wielding Infinite Light and the Minstrel (aka. sword/sword/focus). I’m a PvE mesmer.

1. Blurred Frenzy: While my ele is suffering, my mesmer is spoilt with this skill when solo Lupi. Long evade time, decent damage.

2. Blink: Bread and butter for mesmer’s mobility. Own Subject Alpha and his crystal trap.

3. Riposte: Big big big damage and a block on short CD.

Honorable mention: Signet of Midnight traited with Blurred Inscription, Mass Invisibility, Time Warp (to re-cast mantra and to rez down people), Mimic and Mantra of Pain.

When I feel lazy, I throw my conjure everywhere. D/D is only good, next to staff, when doing map completion and role playing. In dungeons, it is slightly better than most for stacking bloodlust and some dead map skipping in Arah p2. I just face palm when I see other D/D ele using Churning Earth in dungeons.

Well, I’m grinding for my Champion Genius title and actually saw one ele using the build today. I noticed I got immobilization from an ele while he was channeling Churning Earth. It surprised me and I got killed in no time with the pressure from both the ele and another thief.

@iNitrogen: You’ll be melted down fast if getting ganked by any trollish PU/napalm squads or hammer warrior squads. The arcane build lacks the bunker properties of the cantrip build, nor any projectile defense.

Strength runes works quite well with strength sigil. They keep might lasting a bit longer. There aren’t many opportunities for might stacking during mid fight besides strength sigil. I use runes of ranger for my pvt set to supply the additional precision.

I once had my HP dropped from 100% to 10% by retaliation after casting meteor shower on a zerg in my zerker/scholar set. In a guild raid, you would want sustainability over damage, so find your own balance, I guess…

From an engi’s POV:

1. (D/D*) Ele is more dangerous when assisting in a small fight, most notably at mid.
2. Ele is always the first to get focused.
3. Ele can’t survive long in a stalemate if they don’t know how to back off, regen/cleanse before coming back in.
4. Ele is more dangerous when their CC is unpredictable.
5. Most of the condi burst will land after the ele cleanses.
6. Ele is good at destroying structure and capping an open node.

EVIL!!!!! I for once never think nerfing reflect at Marolna is a big deal. The AC Queen Spider’s attacks are not reflectable as well. They’re both spiders, so shouldn’t there be some similarities?

My biggest problem of the day is the bloody locusts kill my swordmen. The rest is usually the temperamental Lupi decided to do 3 AoE back to back, or my wardens randomly bugged out, or… or…… /throwkittens.

In a pug which has more reflection than from a single mesmer (me), I use 6/6/0/2/0 and don’t bother myself with the abomination a.k.a. bugged wardens. In a pug which I can foretell the fail incoming, I use 6/4/0/4/0, supercharge my mantra of stability and carry Blink as my security measure….

And I still cannot solo Lupi off the wall. I’m bad /raisefist

Pug me next time. I’m in EU and my guard is pretty gud! (My ele is fashionable, too)

What bugs me recently is PUG gets better and better these days. Sometimes they even scout me for their daily dungeon runs.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Some don’t like the vigil leggings. I don’t like it for the fact it IS a crop pants, but when everything else is covered (whole chest, high boots) it turns out to be a pair of cute and cheeky hot pants to me. It is the only bottom that fits with all the spiky and curve details I strive for to match with the current Tormented weapon design. In fashion terms, it would be something quirky and grunge like the haute couture of Balmain or Gucci. Anyhow, the fashion crowd is extremely polarized and biased, but luckily, fashion never stays and the taste is always changing.

P.S. I’ve seen Lilith’s post of colesy’s thief wearing the vigil leggings before and the reaction wasn’t over the top as of now. Time flies. Things change.

FGS and a lot of reflex to dodge her attack timely. And some stacks o’ might as well.

It might sound good and all, right? But if you use it on p2’s aoe lupi doesn’t phase switch and the group is screwed over – assuming the presence of guard, mes or ranger. Soooo… it depends. It depends on when you use it. It depends on the context. Everything is different if put into context.
In this case, I guess the mesmer messed up or something and they tried to blame the elly and the absence of SW. I assume.

I had a pug in fracs trying to blame me because I didn’t use reflects at shaman 1st phase, since I was keeping them for the adds He kept dying from the arrows. Didn’t dodge one. Still, I felt horrible. At least spoj got my back before I raged, gods bless him.
That’s the last time a pug dared to talk back. After that, no more bad experiences.

The mesmer failed to phase-skip so for the second aoe, I had to dodge backward and used swirling wind. They weren’t very happy because I moved from the ‘hit box’ and assumed that I’m inexperienced and caused all the bubbles afterward.

So after the wipe, I just used invuln and let them manage by themselves.

People who give me lecture about meleeing Lupi, as such:

• You have to stand in Lupi’kitten box and not ranging at all.
• Don’t use swirling wind ever.
• Don’t walk Lupi off the wall with FGS.
  just right before they fail to do their task.
  and then proceed to:
• How many times have you melee’d Lupi?
• Have you killed Lupi in an organized group before?
• This may be not what you normally do but in our group we… et cetera.
  It surely puts me in an awkward situation not knowing how to answer.

1. The FGS does wonder at the dorm. An ele can solo it relatively quickly.
2. Thief can use shadow trap at the first switch and the final control panel
3. The ooze is one big RNG, but it can be dealed with FGS or double ice bow.
4. I don’t know how to burst the Anomaly boss down. He’s pretty much immune to any CC and his attacks are unblockable.

I usually roam with my warrior or engi and play in zerg with my staff ele. All of them have no trouble with sustaining swiftness [x . x]

Is this rune good for anything? I’ve collected a set. Should I keep it or purge it? I’ve been playing all classes and game modes. Just wondering what is the rune worth outside dungeons. Speaking of which, I have seen a mesmer using runes of the traveller and out-skipped a warrior in Arah p1 even though this mesmer was a total newbie.

Well if u just opened Trading Post and search for all the runes above, u would have realised why i suggest this option.

Anyway, i was getting whispers by many of my friends about scholar runes, because they couldn’t keep their hp above 90% for much time, so i told them to buy strength runes, but they were already high priced (4g each).
Some of those people that i whispered couldn’t afford 24g for these runes.
I told them to farm those gold and buy the runes.
By the time they had 24g runes of strength were even higher, so they farmed more gold.
Finally strength runes reached 16g each, so my friends decided not to get any of them, because they feel getting scammed.
Some days ago one friend of mine suggested Flame Legion runes.
We tested them and here is the profit.
Of course it’s not the best option for record runs, but they are very good for the players that dont wanna focus so much for dodging and stuff, like our guilds do.

By the way, i would like to see how [rT] run dungeons :-P
