I guess Nalia comes from your name and Vexiss has a nice (dark?) ring to it.

Mine is Iris Spellsinger.
First name comes from my real name. Since our guild always uses TeamSpeak, I like people to call my name when referring to me. Last name comes from the character’s profession and a bit of her <adoptive> noble background.

Consider Transferring to Kaineng

Hi Kaineng, I’m a prime-time Euro player and would like to try a NA server. Are there any commanders leading on Euro evenings from a WvW guild? I’m concerned that if I transfer, I would miss out on the main WvW events (at 3am my time) and I’ll be running around as a random PUG without a good commander during your afternoons.

There are a few, one of our guild leaders/commanders is from London. We also have a lot of strong commanders that overlap Euro times:

During Euro days/early evenings you’ll have many of the War Machine commanders to run around with. They are some of the best commanders I’ve ever seen, not only are they good fighters and strong tacticians, they are also pretty good at communicating to those following what’s happening.

And if you can stay up late there are a lot of strong NA commanders that seem to run regularly as you get closer to server reset time.

WM has around 6-7 commanders who run shifts around the clock. They are very good at leading and training pugs. Some are very funny and entertaining as well. If you transfer, you’ll be hooked (like me!)

I believe we do have a MOON guild on TC They’re incredibly hard workers and are instrumental in controlling supply as well as fighting.

Could be my mistake. Last I heard they’re in BG, but I also see them in the Tumbler party. Maybe they’re truely TC. I can’t wait to be in a tier where everyone has their own cheer leading squad.

Actually, moving to Kaineng is like moving to Vancouver. We have an eclectic culture and fun is always served

[WaR] for Maguuma

Their number and skill are well rounded. Maybe one is better than another, but only by a little depending on the weather…

Staff. Any Advantages Over D/D?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Iris Ng.9845

Iris Ng.9845

In PvE, there isn’t any problems so far.

In my opinion,
- Staff offers range, combo fields, and very good crowd-control skills. Air 5, Water 4, Earth 4-5 are invaluable against zerg in WvW. Staff offers healing and support in a tight-knit group. If our guild has 5 elementalist, 4 will be asked to use staff.

- For defense, cantrip build is arguably the best. I’ve seen 0/0/20/30/20 or 0/0/30/20/20 or 0/0/10/30/30. The team has tougher elementalist certainly has more advantage.

- I only speak for myself, but I believe staff user can’t beat a d/d in 1v1 setting.

P.S.: I only play WvW, no experience in sPvP so far.

How can I defeat a D/D elementalist?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Iris Ng.9845

Iris Ng.9845

I play a staff ele (carrion/pvt). I had a couple of time defeating d/d ele with the help of another guild mate (usually warrior), all thanks to the opponent being conceited. In my experience, I usually get targeted first and the DD ele seems dead set to down me while tanking the warrior. However, if I can stall the fight while chipping away his health and if the dd ele does not bug off then he will be killed effortlessly.

With staff, I can provide frost armor, healing, condition removing, stability to my ally and maintain invulnerable whenever my healing is on cd. I can also give chill, criple, burning, daze, bleeding, and have an extra dodge and knock-down. I pay attention to maintain good amount of HP/armor while timing my burst skill when his healing is on cd right after draining up all his utility skill first.

Female WvWers

Iris Ng.9845

Wow Jayne, this is a really interesting topic.

I’m a female member of a more WvW competitive guild. Nevertheless, I enjoy WvW as much as PvE. So I usually balance my little time between the two, even though my GM is not very happy about it. I like team play, as in Fort Aspenwood / Jade Quarry mini-game back i the old GW (1). I’m more of a support-type character who often forget healing her team for the sake of dissing out the meanest CC skills. My guild is strict but very understanding (of my clumsiness). They teach me a lot with regards to PvP. My guild is the reason that I enjoy WvW so much.

My main are lvl 80 guardian and lvl 80 elementalist. I love the tankiness of the guardian in a havoc/roaming team and the mobility/utility/CC of my elementalist in both small teams and zergs. I’m terribly bad at 1v1 but rarely lost in 2vX, probably because I spend so much time playing with my bf that I become better at 2vX.

I always have respect and a little unspoken crush with female commanders. You girls are so cool. It is an honor to fight with or against any of you.

Now, let’s re-cap the question:

Brangien.7462: I don’t understand this logic. If (WM) they’re so bad, how is it that they’re holding the majority of their stationed map?

wads.5730: because of better coverage? how hard is this to understand?

Me: Doesn’t he imply that WM has better coverage than other two servers? They do station in EB around the clock, but the two worlds cannot stop a single guild capping the whole map and blame for coverage is a bit irrational. I’ve never seen them (WM) at any moment more than 40 ppl to outnumber both servers. If you say Kaineng has better coverage in general, I agree, then argument about WM is invalid. We all need to wake up, no?

Um WM is not only guild on EB. I have seen several different Kain Zergs in EB even when totally owning the map. So not sure what confusion of owning all EB has to do with WM and how they play. Their 30ish zerg is not one who took/hold map for them. because they don’t really defend they just zergball it. It is the 40+ other people doing actually work of defending.

So why are you trying to imply WM is only ones doing anything in EB from Kain server?

Now I agree that WM is not the only guild in EB. That’s what I want to point out. Why the thought of coverage has to associate with WM? and I didn’t imply anything. I just draw speculation from the post I mentioned.

Saying that they don’t defend is a little understatement. They give DB a very hard time to claim back their keep, every day.

I understand that reality well. Let’s say WM focus on Mag and outnumbers you guys. That would mean they leave somewhere open => DB could have recapped their towers and keep. WM cannot outnumber both DB and Mag at the same time. It doesn’t apply only to oceanic time but in NA prime time too. Unless the majority of players live in far West Coast and Hawaii and are active at so later time that I couldn’t observe.

My point is: coverage is an attribute to server, not a single guild. So stop targeting them.

Totally not from SF :S.
Any tips to beat Kaineng?
Would appreciate lol.
Any weaknesses they have? :P

yeah flank the zerg balls and they fall over
dominate them in the NA to the point that they cant recover in the oceanic
put aggressive pressure on WM in EB, they cant fight in the open field at all
cap behind WM because they don’t play defense
have decent oceanic coverage, if they cant pvd then they wont win.

basically its very little skill and all coverage with them. they will just wait you out in NA then pvd everything in the morning with their oceanics.

Lol, can’t agree any better.

I’ll post a video tomorrow so you or anyone else can draw their own conclusion on whether its bots or just braindead. It’s an almost pure WM zerg trying to take a camp from what starts at around 6 players and gradually builds up over 5+ minutes. All they need to do is split up and clear the circle but they can’t do it. They can’t even stop us from ressing the supervisor over and over. They keep running through like a blind bull ignoring everything except what’s in front of them and the only reason anyone’s in front of them is because the constant stealth culling abuse.

Ultimately they leave for no apparent reason while still heavily outnumbering us and still completely ignoring anyone who attack them from the side or behind while they’re leaving. If you think that’s organized and ‘being good at WvW’ I want to know who brainwashed you… Actually I’m surprised no one else has posted videos like this since I’m sure we have lots of clips like it.

For anyone on Maguuma or DB, try attacking their zergball from the sides or behind. The only people who will ‘see’ you are randoms tagging along with the zerg.

@the rest of Kaineng, nothing against your server as a whole. You have a whole lot of people and good coverage but almost no roaming presense and a very suspicious guild.

Other observations I made during my short time fighting WM in EB.

1. I have only seen WM zombie behaviour in Eternal Battleground. I did not see it in the WM members that were in the various border battlegrounds. Why?

2. When zombie WM members take damage, I do not ever remember seeing them dodge the damage. They would take the brunt of the damage and keep following the leader.

3. When I apply condition to zombie WM members, I don’t notice them cleansing condition. I would lay a chill mark in their zerg. The 5 member who are chilled just keep doing the follow the leader. I did not notice any attempt at dodging or cleansing condition.

4. I have not seen zombie WM standing on the wall defending or doing anything more complex then follow the leader, attack a location, attack on the move.

5. I have not seen zombie WM members engage in range standoff combat.

6. I have not seen zombie WM members after attacking a location be able to spread and attack random targets. If they don’t kill off enough players on the initial attack and are getting pressured, I see them ball up and run.

Anyone see this WM zombie group be able to do complex tasks beside attack a location, ball up and run?

So what I get from this is WM is horribad?
1+1 = 2
2+2 = 4
WM is horribad = Part of the leading team in points.
By this standard that makes the opposing teams worse than WM kitten.

I don’t understand this logic. If they’re so bad, how is it that they’re holding the majority of their stationed map?

In my opinion they have been good sports and have been letting the scores do the talking. Let the WMsuxx propaganda go already and have fun in WvWvW.

because of better coverage? how hard is this to understand?

How can a guild have a better coverage than any other guilds, to say they have to deal with both DB and Maguuma at the same time. Please wake up!

To be fair, most of WM can’t even speak english. So the based on your observation this is simply because they cannot understand the game mechanics nearly as well as others.

also, Jang has cooties. Jarvan too.

I am going to assume you are being tongue in cheek here? I hope…
Someone’s ability to speak English does not equate an inability to comprehend maths and the mechanics of this game. In fact, I believe that WM has been around since GW1 and was more than a little talented then, as they are now. Simply because a group of people approach WvW in a different manner than most are accustomed to does not mean they ‘cannot understand the game mechanics’. Being completely focused on an objective that actually has a point value attached to it, rather than fighting each and every skirmish group that comes along seems like they understand exactly what the game is.

Disparaging their Guild’s ability to comprehend the game, based on their ability to speak your country’s language is… well, let’s just say it’s very rude and presumptuous.

I’m not attacking WM in that post. In fact I like running around with them, even help on the side lines by killing yaks and capping camps. Rude and presumptuous, yes. I cannot deny that.

This is just how it is, if I were to play a game that had a language that was completely foreign to me, Goooogle translate can only take me so far even with a mentor explaining every single skill/class/incorrect skill description/bugged skills.

That being said, I never said they have bad players. Simply a language barrier which is an undeniable handicap for some. Disregarding that, the feats of capping 70%+ of EB is an amazing thing in itself.

So to say that I hold all their players with little worth is incorrect. Its undeniable that they are a T1 worthy guild. Eternal Battle Grounds speaks for itself.

It’s like saying the Korean doesn’t know how to play Terran in Starcraft. And I doubt Starcraft has Korean as its official language. And I understand your good intention

On topic, there is a lot of love/hate for Kaineng and its guilds. And I think it is rather destructive than constructive. The fact that this is not a happy even match only means Kaineng will keep growing and this place is not for us. Anything like “Kaineng will be doomed in fight with equal numbers”, or “this guild bots, that guild gloats” seems childish and jealous to me. Why not change the topic into something else? Like Kaineng’s weakness or tip to flip towers under our skin so that both us and our future opponents can learn. Just my one cent.

And tell me one more tip, then thx u all for the answers, I tried to carry supply for the repairs of a wall, but some guy in general chat called we should stop getting supply while they were trying to built something in the castle…..

Now is there an one single source supply on the map (this case was Ethernal Battlegrounds), the supply was spawning on area on the left side of the map between the first keep and some sort of camp…..

I feel like a quite noob abour maps and whole this supply thing….

My ele has all lvl 80 rare. I think the attack powder is calculated based on attribute power+ weapon atk power. I also have 10-25 might stack + fury every time I cast MS. Staff ele is strong in a big group with decent support. If roaming alone, it is better to use d/d build for more mobility.

Speaking as someone in attendence at the Dragonbrand pre-reset server meeting, and who stays in contact with many of the guilds and leaders on Dragonbrand often, I can assure you there has never been any sort of alliance with Maguuma. I did musingly toy with the idea of reaching out to Maguuma but my own guildmates and various others were adamantly opposed to the idea(a lot of them really don’t like Maguuma).

I know the narrative put out on Kaineng is that there was double-teaming going on. But I think that shows a deep misunderstanding of basic WvW reset-night strategy. Whoever holds Stonemist will be attacked by both servers. On borderlands maps you do not attack laterally, you always attack north against the defending home server.

Dragonbrand attacked north on MAG bl, Dragonbrand attacked north on KAIN bl, Dragonbrand attacked the owner of Stonemist in EBG, Dragonbrand defended against both MAG and KAIN in its homeland.

This is basic strategy. No conspiracy theories needed.

I want to second that DB has no alliance with Maguuma. I spotted several DB scouts in Maguuma and vice versa. It’s just that whenever Kaineng attacks one of them, the other will stand aside and carries on different objectives. I once treb’d a Maguuma tower, then left it empty. DB would quickly claim it. Kaineng may feel frustrated by the pressure of both ends, so most of us did not notice it. Apologies for any offense.

Stone Mist was unbreachable at the beginning. That was a fun fight to fend off waves and waves of invaders. Every heroic songs would sing about how people can defend SM with 0 supplies and holes in the wall. There were only 20-25 men with no siege weapons, and we did not dare to budge. I prayed my internet wouldn’t bottle-neck on me as we might be wiped any moment. When you kept us bound in SM, it was unavoidable to lose our keep at one point. I remember some folk in Kaineng frantically yelled and blame was thrown around. Then, as soon as we establish our hold in SM, we swiftly took everything back.

SM was flipped a very few times, and many times in danger, but we held it firmly and upgraded it to the tee. It was our important front line that defends our keep and a foot hold to invade the whole EB map. It is not a shame when we held only SM at one point. Because of that single strategic decision, we were able to paint the map green several times. We breached every fortified towers and keeps, and even fortify some at our convenience. Yesterday we even had time to spare on Champion Oakheart waiting for enemies rising up again.

Kaineng has streng in numbers. Even when fighting equal, Kaineng has proved to be a resilient force. Every attempt to demean Kaineng is pointless. In the end, we will win this (7-day) war.

Oh, and I didn’t even mention about our force at BL. Such a fine job. Congratulations to all of us!

Not even accusing when you are caught in the act….

We have videos of WM dying while auto attacking, but apparently that’s not proof of botting, instead people just accept that they’re incompetent.

Woah, this is really really bad. You should report them instantly whenever you have proof. Let the GM ban them, but don’t flame the forum otherwise I’ll think it as another groundless accusation from some sore losers. Yet again.
