You guys should forget that statement. Better think on this: this game will never become an e-sport. This way you will be never dissapointed like happened to me when I was totally hyped before launch.
This game is just for PvErs, casuals and it has some PvP fix for people who want to kill others, not to compete seriously.
Totally agree. You can’t pretend your game to be an mmo e-sport and launch it with only 3 competitive maps. Jesus, it really hurts: 3!!
Now, 3 months later we have a new map in beta state. So in a year or so we will have some variety of maps then…
This plus the fact that JP admitted that only 2 devs are working on balance this game just make me wonder how the hell they want to do this game an e-sport…
Dissapointment level: OVR 9000
This guy’s build is just the same power build we all know but the difference is he mastered DS, world first DS master out there. My congratulations OP, you deserve all the fame and honor
That’s the matter. I agree with every point you exposed there. Patience is over for most of us.
I know some people will still have it and some people who still enjoy playing a broken profession, but facts are facts, we have a huge bug list and I know they probably are working on all of them but why they don´t give us an update just like they did with rangers?Don’t miss the update point, and I’m looking to you Ratphink, I agree with most of your points as well but seriously, keep an eye on the necromancer forum and come back here again and tell us I’m wrong about the 90% dissapointment thing. I think every necromancer (those who still enjoy it and those who started to hate to play with bugmancer like me) agrees on that we need an update. Or am I terrible confused and I just dreamed all those topics in the forum?
I agree that we need a bunch of bug fixes and that we could use an update.
But when you say “90%” or “most of us” you’re referring to the forum community. The best statistic I have seen for forum involvement of any game was like 10%, meaning that 10% of the game’s active players are also active on the forum. The other 90% are busy playing the game and having fun, probably noticing the same issues, but not so down about them that they would take the time to post here. 90% of 10% is 9%.
So yes, the necro forum community is unhappy, but that is not representative of the necro community as a whole.
I can say the same about of your 10% number, where did it come? XD
The people you claim that are in game and not here (of course they must be a lot) are upset as well. Try it out, go to Lion’s Arch or Heart of the Mists (better go here) and ask for how many necromancers are there.
We have tons of bugs, that’s a fact. Of course there are plenty people who still enjoy bugmancer (I’ve never said the opposite) but that doesn’t make devs free of keeping their fanbase happy, or at least keep them informed. The thing that disturbs me more is the fact that they did an update for ranger at beginning of Halloween event. We are asking for the same thing and what do we get? Moved posts from general forum to here, and those posts we make here are deleted or close without any reponse from the devs, that’s my friends is what they call transparency?
It´s really a declaration of bankruptcy in terms of giving response to the community. Constructive feedback is getting ignored. Now when people get ignored, people ask for attention or any kind of response, these threads are getting locked. And some people have the faith calling his holyness Mr. Jon “the Death Shroud” Peters for help, guess what, these threads are getting ninja deleted by the moderators in their helplessness.
That’s the matter. I agree with every point you exposed there. Patience is over for most of us.

Ithir, the mods on this forum are not the game designers and devs :P they’re just forum mods, possibly unrelated to Anet, and even if they left the threads up they can’t do anything to help.
I know that for sure, but I will follow this thought: the more threads we make, the more possibilities we have to get some dev attention.
Hey mates!
I did another thread called Ignore Mode: ON v2.0 after they locked the original one today. And it lasted about 5 minutes? I wrote it, went to eat something, came back and it wasn’t there. Evenmore, they sent me some PM warning me about doing another topic like those. So I will wait some days and then I’ll make Ignore Mode: ON v3.0, they will not stop me for telling the truth.
They really need to know they dissapointed the 80-90% of their necromancer player base. And is UNACCEPTABLE that we have more that 60 bugs today, 2 months since release (some of those bugs are pretty big, like Hunger attribute being totally useless).
We have been asking for an update since release and we had nothing, didn`t you expect this rage from necromancers ArenaNet? Patience have a limit. That limit is over for almost every necromancer.
We are not asking for “buff my profession so I can destroy everyone pressing 1 button plz”, we are asking to get bugs fixed, to get an update of what are you doing to solve our problems. We are asking for some reason to keep playing this game. Someone may say roll another profession, I did, but soo many people are not altoholic and if they like a certain profession, they’ll stick to it but stick to something broken is not FUN.
PS.: I’m playing again League of Legends and Skyrim until they fix necromancer and do PvP an entertaining play mode (but that is another story)
(edited by Ithir Darkleaf.7923)
@Ithir : Be sure and let us know when you get infracted for this thread. I know you are saying “But why would they do that?”
Asking for a Dev response = "Infracted for posting a “Call-Out thread”
I’ll let you all know that if they do it for sure. But I’m very tired of this situation, they used to say something like this: we will ship the game when it’s ready. Is this ready? I don’t think so (and I’m not alone with this thought).
So that being said, if I infracted a forum rule I’m sorry but someone has to point out this injustice even if he must pay the consecuences of doing it.
Time keeps passing by and we don’t have any update or word from somebody of ArenaNet. I’m wondering if they are making an epic patch for necros or if they just don’t want to look at our reality.
- Posted by a fan of this game since GW1 who is losing all the faith in this game.
They don’t even fix the bugs…. new weapon?? Hahahaha nice ilussion
I don’t care about dev posts, but it would be nice if obvious bugs were fixed at first place. Then we can start whining about nerfs and boosts when our traits and skills actually work like they’re supposed to.
I give some examples:
1) polymorph gfx’s/skillbar bugged -> really annoying when whole class rolls around DS
2) fear skills/traits are are bugged in some odd ways I still try to figure out -> really annoying when it’s one of necro main “stuff” or at least probably most useful of all supposedly useful traits.
3) those hp/downed bugs, really.
4) Death Magic: all static traits related to minions, should be really optional. Because Jagged horror.I am playing actively 3 other classes too but necro is most bugged by far. At least other classes seem to work like in descriptions and don’t suffer from seemingly simple and dumb bugs.
I can’t agree more with your Death Magic’s points.
IMHO, jagged horrors are totally trash (maybe if someday with get a nice AI to minions they become more useful) and the trait that gives you more armor based on the number of your minions should be optional, right now if you want to build tanky, you need to have minions.
“Hey Necro’s, we know you’re not happy and still have issues to work out, we’re working on it still, some more stuff incoming soon-ish/sometime.”
All we need. =p
No, because theyve been saying that since beta for us. Im done waiting, and if they posted that they would get flammed. Hence the stone cold silence.
Edit: Also, everytime we get a couple bug fixes, a couple more appear and more people find. There is a thread currently investigating if the soul reaping trait line even gives u 30% lifeforce. From what ive read so far it doesnt…Just another day in Necroville
You are right, I remember in the last beta when they said that necromancers, thieves and mesmers needed a lot of love (necro was the one who needed more) and look at thieves and mesmers now. That’s why we have that we-are-still-a-beta-profession feeling and that’s right, and that’s why we NEED to get some hints of their current work on the necro.
Please folks, be respectful. We all want an update on the necromancer state from ArenaNet but that’s not the way. So please, be constructive ^^
@Lifelike: they have two different ways of community communication, that’s true. But the best thing of Riot is what they have done for this year’s halloween, they didn’t decorate 5vs5 map because reworking 3vs3 map were their priority, I can’t say the same thing of ArenaNet.
The thing is, I know they don’t want to talk about things that can change 1 day after they announce them, but why not let us know their insight on the current state of the profession? By doing only that they will improve a lot their communication to their players.
-Doom has been changed to “Gloom” and now allows the necromancer to post hilarious fake patch notes in an effort to try hiding the feeling that he or she will forever be a sad, broken, miserable shell of a profession.
I’m still laughing XDDD
At least we can get some fun from the ashes of a profession.
Hey necromates!
The purpose of this thread is to try to get some ArenaNet attention over us (yes, I know this must be the 218342424 thread about that).
Excluding Karl McLain’s post on Spectral Walk bug-exploit fix, we don’t have a single red post in our forum section, and we have the most active threads in the professions section. That’s being said, we obviously have the most bugged profession (it feels like a beta-state profession for me) and, at the same time, one of the hardest to master and what do we get? No words from ArenaNet, only the world famous “master DS” from JP.
I don’t want a full detail of what are devs doing to improve necro state because of their iteration way of implementing things in the game, I perfectly understand that but why don’t we get a red post like this: Ranger Update ??
I think we need an insight of where are they focusing on the profession because we are losing all the patience after 2 months since release (I know all of you necromancers aren’t losing it, but the general feeling is that).
So, please, ArenaNet keep up informed at least of what we can expect to be improved or reworked, we deserve it.
Thanks for your attention everyone.
PS.: Sorry if my English a bit bad, it’s not my main language
I hope someone from ArenaNet comes here and say things like they did in Ranger’s forum: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Ranger-update/first#post513272
I think we all don’t need to get the exact changes they are working on, but at least we need to know if they are working on fixes and changing weapons/utilities just like Jon Peters said there. Is that hard?
It’s a shame what is happening to Necromancers. I left the game 2 weeks ago because I was already bored of PvP (dolyak rank), of PvE (Twilight Arbor armor, 3 crafting at 400 and 100% map exploration) and of the necro (don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun class to play but those bugs and lack of diversity hurts).
I’ve come today to look the patch notes, hoping for an excuse to come back here from LoL to do some PvP with my necro and I see again that ArenaNet only pay attention to Guardian and Warrior (well, this time they focused on Elementalists too, they deserved it at least) and Necro only got a few changes. We still have tons of bugs compilated for them to fix and still nothing really change.
Where is the love that did you promise to us ArenaNet? I can remember that you promise that in the last beta to Necromancers, Mesmers and Thieves. The last two got the love (too much in fact, they were nearly OP) and what happens to us? Two months of game has passed now and we still are waiting and hoping our class get fixed, not buffed, FIXED. That’s honestly incredible.
In these 5 years of development I have followed every single new about this game with hunger of more. I used to think “it will be the best game of the year, hell no! It will be THE game”.
Sadly, I have to say now that I’m done with this game. I will come back when something really changes.
I’ve played Guild Wars 1 around 2000~ hours. I really enjoyed the PvE and the PvP. EVERY aspect of the game, seriously. But what have this game to offer? High-end PvE is just repeat that explorable dungeon, yeah that one that has the armor you like. I’ve completed my Twilight Arbor’s armor for my necro and I’ve explored 100% of the map. What is the point of PvE now? Farm every day to get a legendary staff that doesn’t fit with my look? YAAAY.
WvWvW is fun for some moments, but it’s not a enjoyable mode to play it every day.
PvP? I’ve reached dolyak too (rank 20) and I’m very very very very bored of this PvP.
No sense of progression at all, no achievements to pursuit (like hold Hall of Heroes in GW1) only get some chests to get random armor pieces to destroy and throw them into Mystic Forge to have a chance of getting a nice armor piece (if you don’t already have it).
And my favourite part…. Necromancers. I freaking love them in GW1. Death Shroud sounded very cool when this game was only in demos. But now? 1 month and a half has passed since the launch and we only have a real viable build in tPvP and we still have around 70 bugs? WTF!?
PS.: Sorry for the rage and the long post (and for my English if it’s bad) but I’ve just exploded when I saw that ridiculous patch notes….
(edited by Ithir Darkleaf.7923)
It’s just me or I see lot of League of Legends background here?
Monk -> Lee Sin / Fencer -> Fiora XDDD
Edit: to be constructive and not only a joke-guy, I must agree more or less with the monk class and the chronomancer which Power said. I see the fencer a bit lackluster because of having 1 playstyle only.
(edited by Ithir Darkleaf.7923)
Totally agree with this new weapon. It’s a very cool and unique idea. This and bringing back scythes (for necros for example) would be awesome.
Hey all.
First, let me say that I really don´t know if this suggestion has been posted yet.
The suggestion is simple: organize runes and sigils vendor’s windows in PvP by stats just like it is in the official wiki: Wiki runes
This will help players to get a better picture of what certain runes do and a faster and comfortable way to get the runes they want.
PD.: Sorry if my English is bad, it’s not my first language
I really love this change, we have more options for power-based builds in every patch they make.
I tried a power build based on BiP and Reaper’s Might and it was fun hitting guardians and warriors with Lich Form’s auto-attack around 3k
Hey folks.
I just tested the new changes that came with today’s patch and I have to say that I really love dagger (blood magic) build now. I have played some tournaments, premade and solo queue, and I find it so great now. I think if ArenaNet make some more steps in the same direction we will have a nice build based on life stealing.
But I still think our main-hand dagger need more polish, let me explain: we have 2 skills (2 and 3) with 600 range just like axe skills but our auto-attack is 130 range so… I think (maybe I’m a fool, let me know if it’s the case) we need all skills to be 130 range and get some buffs on 2 and 3 in the way of having more flat damage, about 200-300 more on skills 2 and 3 so we have a really melee range weapon. I find skill 1 very nice because of its attack speed.
TL;DR: Make main-hand dagger 130 range buffing it a bit, letting axe being the mid-range melee weapon for necros.
I must point out that this is an opinion thread, so please try to be polish and respectful giving your own opinions about the topic.
Thank you.
Hello folks.
I’m a human necromancer and I recently started to use Hounds of Balthazar elite and I just realised that they have a lot better AI than my own minions. They always attack whatever I’m attacking and if I change the target they inmediately change too.
I’ve never seen this happening to the minions, in the best case, they stuck for a second when I change target.
I’m guessing now why all kind of AI controlled pets (ranger’s ones, mesmer’s illusions, our own minions…) don’t have the same AI, or at least it seems it’s not the same. What do you think about this?
Please remember that this is my personal opinion and I want a constructive thread about the topic for helping ArenaNet’s devs to find out the problem we have with minions and finally solve them.
I can’t agree more with EVERY point that you made Penace. I hope ArenaNet keep in mind this post and improve at least some of the things it mentions.
@Colton -> Well, I hope we will be better when they fix all the bugs too crossing fingers
But I can’t understand decisions like having toughness and critical damage in the same trait line (Valor trait line of Guardians) or precision and critical damage (which makes a lot of sense) in Dueling trait line of Mesmers when we have precision and condition damage or power and condition duration (wth!).
I’ve been playing necromancer from BWE1 to the last Stress Test and 250~ hours since release of PvP, PvE and WvW but sometimes I take my guardian and just faceroll people having incredible survivability and damage (melee or ranged, both works fine) or going full tank build holding a point almost forever, or going support for my mates…. The thing is classes like this can do everything and they do it very well when my necro only excels at condition-boon manipulation and that makes me wonder why we even have a power trait line.
By the way, I usually play tournaments with my RL friends or I queue alone, not zerg-join
(edited by Ithir Darkleaf.7923)
There is no OP class at all, but there is an UP class: necromancer.
It will only take several minutes for everyone to check out and compare necro’ skills and traits and guardian’s ones… it’s just a shame.
PS.: Even counting necro traits as working as intented (with 0 bugs), guardian or warrior for example beat them in every aspect like versatility, synergy, usefulness…
(edited by Ithir Darkleaf.7923)
I have to point out that it overrides elite transformations like Tornado or Lich too.
+1
I’ve rerolled engineer for PvP now. It has tons on viable and useful builds. I’m tired of playing conditionmancer every day.
I’m very dissapointed about the state of necros right now. I’ve played around 3000 hours (no joke) necromancer in the original Guild Wars. Both PvE and PvP. I really enjoyed its playstyle but now… we only have a condition spamer proffesion with no more use than that.
And we get no love from ArenaNet yet… I’ve just checked out the latest patch notes and everybody got some improvements but not us.
PS.: Sorry for my English if it’s bad
Moa is OP in the form that it can override other elites like lich from necromancers or tornado from elementalists.
10 seconds daze seems right for an elite, but the override thing is totally broken.
