We did it Desolation. We survived the Zombie-Apocalypse and Napoleon Bonaparte. We have lost many guilds to the zombie attacks but have become more unified overall. We must stay vigilant as Bonaparte still lives and may return again in force.
We have however a new enemy from the seas. Davy Jones and his Seafarers have washed ashore with an army that neither sleeps nor eats. These swashbuckling pirates are actually land lovers to the point they hold much of keeps and towers. Like a tide they belt against our tower doors day and night. It is said they have been cursed with an unnatural appearance and the inability to sleep at night. They can be heard singing “yo ho ho and a bottle of rum” while taking a supply camp near you.
We need more good folk to join our ranks to send these land loving pirates back to sea and out of our borderlands

If you check the records (which you can easily check at mos.millenium.org), you will see that the longest consecutive winning streak of one-week matchups is 14 in a row, on the name of…yes, Seafarer’s Rest. The streak started a while before Season 2 and lasted the first 7 weeks of the Season

Seeing WAR go this week was just another example of a staunch UW player/guild who has become just as disillusioned as well and I wish them well wherever they go… still I look forward to seeing all those “join my Havoc Squad” messages in the future Jarni, they were fun times
bumping, for the sake of Underworld
Yes…I have always been a loyal Underworldian, but now I simply can’t have as much fun in Underworld as I used to have…I am a hard core WvW’er, I never even enter PvE apart from Guild Missions, and the state of WvW of Underworld currently just makes me sad :’(
I saw no other option than to swap servers, to have a good time playing WvW during the Season. But I still love Underworld, and I carry many good memories with me. Underworld is the place where I started my very first character. I started off as a total n00b, but I grew up. I grew stronger. I got my first Commander Tag and started commanding. I got better as a Commander. I founded my own Guild. I saw my Guild grow strong, and important for Underworld WvW. Now I had to leave the Server I love, and it saddens me. But it was the best choice to enjoy the game at maximum.
I never wanted this to happen, which is why I get annoyed when people call me a bandwagoner :/
I honestly wish the best of luck to Underworld and its remaining players, and I hope more players/Guilds will move there after Season 2!
And yes, Bloodstealer, Havoc Squads are a lot of fun to do, especially if everyone is on TeamSpeak and you have a good Squad Leader

Was a nice fight around FoW Borderlands Bay after Reset, against both FoW as Arborstone!
We took Bay, FoW retook it while we were attacking their Garrison.
Then we tried to retake Bay. You resisted a long time, but then me and my Guild finally managed to take it again!

Just a Q to start off this thread with: High Tier [HT], why exactly did you guys move servers to FoW? The WvW there is quite crappy apart from your Guild.
You managed to kill my zerg once or twice while I was commanding FoW Borderlands at reset, which was nice. You flatly kitten d us at Longview while we were catapulting…good jobTo the others: I’m looking forward to this matchup! Let’s make the best of it!

And well…even in Silver Tier we had lost 90% of our WvW strength, so you hadn’t even seen us at our usual strength, and that has gotten even worse.
Most of the WvW Guilds left our server just before WvW Season 1. My Guild stayed, but WvW has only gone downhill from then on. More WvW Guilds left our server, and atm we’re left with just a few dedicated WvW Guilds – like my own – and some dedicated players from other Guilds. As for the rest, it’s al randoms who don’t even know the very basics like stacking and buffing…
But mehh. Whatever is left of our server will try the best we can to put up some decent fights with you guys. Let’s have a great matchup!
Did you know that FoW has been first in EU for few weeks after launch? (Eventually that FoW is not this FoW); your argument about the “once upon a time there was Underworld” does not stand, and it is for real irrelevant.

This is good for you, and I sincerely appreciate your attachment to your server, I’d never call you “crappy” WvW just because many of your fellows zerger left you behind in order to join karma train somewhere else…
Firstly, like I said, I didn’t watch the WvW scores the first few weeks after launch. That was back in my old PvE leveling days where I barely did any WvW. But it doesn’t even matter, all WvW has changed since then. At launch, people generally used no skill and tactics at all to defeat other servers in WvW. These tactics only developed over time.
Secondly, we are in fact crappy at WvW, apart from a few dedicated WvW players and Guilds (like mine). But overall, Underworld WvW is genuinely crappy…but mehh we manage to have fun anyway, and that’s what it’s all about

To psizone: I’m sorry for offending you, I didn’t mean to. I sure know there are other dedicated WvW’ers as well – every server has them – but overall, all servers around our rankings are crappy, mine included. Like I stated before though, as long as we can have fun, that’s just fine
As a matter of fact I said that based on your WvW ranking and scores of…..forever. I’ve kept an eye on the evolution of all EU servers for the past months, ever since I started commanding (which was around 9-10 months ago I think, not sure) and your server has never really gotten any higher than bottom tier :P
As far as I can remember, I know you guys could only win against Vabbi (when HT was still in Gunnar’s Hold).
And we do have skilled WvW’ers left in Underworld, as well as some skilled Commanders. Though yes, overall, WvW on Underworld nowadays is simply crappy, and I am willing to admit it.
We have lots of people who don’t even know how to stack and buff up, and generally lack numbers as well. We used to be good – we once went all the way up to 5th or even 4th place – but just before season 1 started, most of our WvW Guilds left our server.
So basically, my Guild is one of the only Guild in UW still throwing Guild Buffs on forts and sieging/upgrading them.
Still, we continue the fight, and are genuinely happy to be able to defeat a server -no offence- after all those weeks of getting our kitten kicked on both sides :P
Also, to whoever was defending FoW Garrison at reset (before it went green for the first time), great job. I never managed to take your Garri because of tons of ACs everywhere, and FoW people who kept respawning to defend, though I came very close a few times when I was poking. Then, after it turned Green, I stopped taking and retaking Hills and the eastern towers for a bit and finally managed to take Garrison. FoW was a bit faster with breaching outer gate (you got there earlier), but you immediately retreated when you saw us coming, which is a shame. The numbers seemed equal to each other, so it would have been a good fight. But mehh you made a bad decision and lost both Garri and Bay (Arborstone was attacking it and you gave it up for Garri, where you fled from us), while Hills was still ours as well. I don’t know if that’s the usual way you do things, but try not to run away too often when the numbers are equal – we want some good fights this week!

We still might have your stuff but that’s coz you didn’t recapped like Raniks did, actually, earlier when we started to cap FR, Underworld started to attack us, so we had to pull back to defend, so yea :P
When I was Commanding, I capped most of UW Borderlands. Only things we did not manage to get were Briar and Bay. We got kitten d by an AG zerg (pulled from another map for sure) when we got into Briar Lord’s Room…so I rallied at Hills to build some siege, I even got a defensive treb up, and then I had to go for lunch (that was around noon CET, just fyi). I don’t know what happened afterwards, but I can imagine AG recapping the whole map and getting loads of WXP…

Yeah it is kinda silly as it is now. If I wanted to buy gear with gold, I’d go to the trading post… badge gear should only cost badges. If it’s too cheap that way, they can increase the price by increasing the amount of badges required rather than adding gold to it. And yea WvW is already expensive unless you get all your siege from jump puzzles (which is actually PvE)
Not that there is any interesting gear that I would want to buy… just commenting on the system.
Well I got myself the two Invader’s bows because of the power/toughness/vitality stats as a Commander, I should keep myself alive, shouldn’t I? :p
yes, it all changed price- they reduced the badge cost and added the 1gold charge per piece- which for anyone who exclusively does wvw, buys siege and upgrades and dies quite a lot is quite a lot of money.
The answer of course is to do something you don’t want to do which is join a dungeon party and waste your time there to make the gold to buy the piece of wvw armor you want.
It a bit like the daily choices- forcing you to go places or do things that you would rather not spend your time doing in order to obtain something you do want…
Mehhh I never do dailies, and the only times you’ll ever see me in a dungeon is in FOTM, when I want to get another 20 slot fractal uncommon equipment box I make money in WvW, I just don’t spend gold on sieges/upgrades anymore :p
I only get supressed spamming teamspeak info, and people are complaining about me not commanding in team chat and only on teamspeak, do they really think I can actively type while fighting enemy zergs? especially now that AR and RS are not just zergs, but blobs…
would be awesome if there was some VOIP in GW2… I would rather have that than less supression, really

But yeah VOIP in-game would be nice, rather than having everyone download TeamSpeak or something alike…
One of the reasons commanders may have to repress themselves is because unless you know the commander or already saw they had a tag, when they speak in chat, you do not know they are a commander. When in WvW they should allow the commander tag to be displayed next to the name in CHAT. That would catch everyone’s attention as to where to go. Maybe have a commander color to go with it or commander only chat.
I used to ping the buff icon to get people attention for a while.
Shouldn’t have to. I unfortunately got this idea from runescape. When you see a mod talking, you saw a crown next to his name. Same for a developer, except his crown was gold. It caught everyone’s attention whenever they talked.
Ahhhhh… Good old RuneScape…
But yeah that is a great idea indeed. I remember asking a mod where he got his crown from :p stupid question, but I was only 12 years old or something like that
I really think GW2 should do the same with Commanders
I can imagine the scenario where gold spammers pop commander tags to indulge their nepharious activities.
Any commander worth their salt will be on TS/Vent and have allies to post in chat for JP, Reinforcements etc.

If there would ever be such an idiot, he would get reported in a second. So I don’t think that will be a problem.
There are plenty of such idiots already, and although everyone reports them, it could still take well over a day before they are dealt with. Just imagine how annoying some of these jerks could be if there was no limit to how much they could spam. Certain limits do need to be in place to prevent this sort of spammage. But of course, it should never get in the way of being able to communicate with your team.
Well they won’t likely waste 100 gold to be able to spam public chat when they know they’ll get reported anyway
