Gs offers a decent pushback which is what was needed in combination with the focus pull in order to get the initial mobs away from the dredge cart.

2/6/0/0/3 with scholar rune, full zerk stuff, S/P for multi target, D/D or D/P for single target, depending on the target resistance to blind (typically you are gonna run D/D on bosses and D/P on lonely trash), Short bow to stack might.

Note that Short Bow is mandatory in high level fractal since melee = suicide most of time.

Edit: have to leave now but i can post the 2/6/0/0/3 build later if you want…Or you can search by yourself and decide what to pick…It’s as you want.

You’re missing a couple trait points

Hey guys. I just got fresh new lvl 80 thief and fresh new ambrite sword, so i would like to know is there s/d or s/p build viable for pve (fractals, dangeons, open world). I searched but most results lead to WvW, PvP and highly outdated pve builds.

I would just say to go d/d for single target and s/p for mobs, 66002. It’ll feel pretty glassy at first and if you’re dying too much you can switch to 56030 for more dodges and some hp cushion until you get the hang of 66002.

I’ve been messing around with a s/d build lately for soloing dungeons and it’s pretty fun and effective. Have to do the math of s/d vs a non backstab d/d rotation.

Actually, this post is completely viable for this forum. Technically it would be for both this one AND the LS forum, considering it involves both dungeons and an area in the current LS. So no, I’m good without a GPS

Just an FYI, don’t post without looking at people’s post history first if their posts sound fishy. You can tell if a person is a troll by their post history.

Some players enjoy the climb and quit when they get to the top. Other players enjoy the view from the top much more than the climb.

While it doesn’t really apply to this sub-community, but I’ve seen lots of players who work their kitten off for a legendary and then quit. For them, the game was about getting the legendary and then they won and were done. It doesn’t compute for me. I enjoy running around and playing with the legendary 10x more than the awful grind to get it. Whats the point of having Twilight if you don’t play with it after you get it?

In regards to dungeons specifically, I look back at how comparatively bad we were two years ago and I think to how comparatively good we might be in two years from now. The fun for me is refinement and optimization and getting ever better.

Yeah, you might want to rethink your statements before publishing them. You’re no where near being the only one that thinks that but it is the way it is to keep the economy as balanced as possible (don’t need people to jump in with “but precursor market is kitten” yes I know and idc).

Upping the items are nice and all until you finish gearing your character and then what? You’re going to want to be able to sell those items. I agree with Lindbur that of rewards got buffed they would be account bound only, kind of what they did to d3.

Rewards will get better, somewhat. Just get used to them as the rest of us have. The good drops we treat as rewards on their own, the rest is merch fodder.

I’ve been playing since head start. I took a couple breaks though last year, one lasting about a month and then later on another lasting roughly three months. I had almost decided to not come back during the three month break but did and I’m glad. I have accomplished a lot personally in he game within the last 7-8 months. I was almost at the point of quitting again recently due to some things but stayed and ended up accomplishing more within this last month or so.

I still have a lot to do and improve on personally, I just know that it can burn me out at times. I guess it’s just goals and friends that keep me and I’m sure others are the same way.

The first portal could have been a stealth actually but we felt it would be a bit safer/quicker to do the portal. The second portal however sped up since we all didn’t have to run out of the room and the Mesmer ran out at 90% mark to prep it.

I was in one of those kind of guilds as well. They were a wvw guild that did the gms during the weekend. By god how ignorant they were of pve unfortunately and how much crap they used to talk about pve. I remember we were doing KQ in between the mgs and they started complaining because they were trying to face tank her. They got mad at me when I told them they needed to dodge and said something along the lines of how they had such and such amount of toughness and hp…needless to say I didn’t last there too much longer after that.

Most of what you list there represents what [Noob] already does. We help teach the game mechanics to others and help them understand boss/fight/dungeon mechanics and setups. What we don’t do, at least not straightforward, is the ethical stuff. We passively teach that to others by showing them how to communicate to others and such.
