Do you have any idea of what you did differently? I really need a repro case to tackle the bug.
If you have “Fast cast ground targetting” enabled in options, it will attempt to use your mouse cursor as the target point. If you don’t, pressing the skill button will bring up a targeting circle.
Gathering tools go in their own slots, not the weapoh slow. Double-click on the tool and it should automatically equip it in the gathering slow, if you open the Hero panel, you’ll also see 3 gathering tool slots on the right, above your aquatic weapons.
I said “upcoming content update”. We have not had one this week, but one is planned for the Lost Shores update later this week.

Make sure there’s room in your mailbox to receive new items. It has a max capacity of around 10 letters, past that any new mail will be held up and you won’t receive it until you clear out your inbox.
Did you do the previous story step (ogres) in a group?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Story-Skipped-or-Changed-merged/first
When did you run into this? That’s a bug we fixed several weeks ago.
Good luck! Like I said, I do agree that this story step can be toned down, and I’ll take a look at it once the next update goes through tomorrow. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I can get any changes in, though.
The red circles are showing you where the dredge arillery is about to strike. You need to avoid them, since the artillery hits pretty hard. Once you reach the bridge you should be safe from the artillery, and you can carefully pull the dredge. Aggro’ing the entire group at once will cause problems. I just completed it as a L30 mesmer with sceptre/pistol (I don’t play mesmer much so that was the weapon set I was most familiar with) and while I agree that another balance pass will help, I was able to get through in one try without dying.
What class are you? What weapons are you using?
Do you have “Fast cast ground targeting” turned on in options? If so, it’s trying to target your current mouse cursor, which might not be a place the treb can reach.
I haven’t been able to reproduce this, are Jeyne and Inkblood with you? Were they in combat when you reached the rendezvoud? Zott shouldn’t be there at all, if I remember correctly.
10 total from any source.
I can’t reproduce this bug, was he in the middle of a scene, which turns off his interact?
Did your mail get sent? Was there room in your friend’s inbox for the new message?
Make sure there’s room in your inbox to receive new mail. It will only hold about 10 letters at a time, if it’s full no new mail will appear.
Is he marked with a story story star on the minimap or over his head? I just tried it now and it worked ok.
What’s your current objective?
Zoom out and check the world map, the actual story location will have a star on it. It’s showing you the shortest route, but it doesn’t know the status of the asura gates, so it thinks you can use it to travel.
What’s your current objective?
That won’t work, because you won’t be on the same story step, so you won’t have the option to accept their progress.
Make sure your inbox has room to receive new mail. It has a max capacity of around 10 mails, past that additional messages will get held in stasis until you clean out the inbox.
It’s in another thread, but the TL;DR version is:
It’s been fixed, will be in the content update later this week. For now, as a workaround, release the trebuchet BEFORE your final shot lands and the cutscene kicks off.
Hold down the fire button (skill 2?) to increase the range of the shot.
Make sure your inbox has room to receive new mail. It has a max capacity of around 10 mails, past that additional messages will get held in stasis until you clean out the inbox.
At no point did we say that the bug is fixed on Live. It will be in the upcoming content update, later this week.
There’s a known issue with thieves and steal over-riding any other bundles they may have picked up.
What class are you?
No worries, threads tend to vanish off the front page pretty quickly.
1) It’s already been stated that this fix is in the upcoming content update (so this week)
2) So far, none of our special monthly content has been level limited
How far from the bridge were they? If any enemies are around, the bull with the supplies will stop. It has to reach the bridge so the team can assemble the mortars. The next content update will also contain a failsafe in case the bull is stopping because it THINKS an enemy is around, but none is actually present.
This should be fixed in the content update later this week. In the meantime, as a workaround, release control of the trebuchet while the last shot is in the air, before it completes the objective and plays the cutscene.
Are the NPCs all with you?
Was Forgal (or you) in combat when you first approached the objective location?
There’s an revision of that story step in the content update later this week, hopefully that will address it.
The asura have offered to experiment on the sylvari and determine why they appear immune to corruption, but so far no one has volunteered.
The update is buried in the other thread, but the TL;DR version is that the bug should be fixed in the content update later this week.
Re: the sylvari quests, is this recent or something you saw a while ago? This should have been caught in the Octover round of fixes.
Is anything marked on the minimap? The only thing I can figure is that you showhow bypassed one of the points for the search.
Do either of you have any incomplete objectives? Which ones are complete?
This is a totally bizarre bug that’s only appearing on the Live servers, so we haven’t been able to debug it. The next content update (in a few days) will have an update the this story step that turns the sheath into a “virtual item” so all you need to do is pick it up and escape, it doesn’t matter if you have it equipped or not.
The issue is, what sort of failsafe is going to work? If it’s timed, why wouldn’t all the guides just say “Wait 10m and the objective will complete without you doing anything.” That’s not very fun. Was it IN the tree?
It’s not a matter of priorities, it’s just bad timing, really. A general audio fix went in about 2 hours before the bug was reported here and I fixed it, and unfortunately, the audio fix left the story step incompatible with Live. In the upcoming update they’ll be adding the audio fix, so the fixed story step will also go in.
What’s your current objective? If it’s the part I think it is, there’s still some enemies around.
It displays the shortest route to the story entry point. What’s the story step name?
Covered in detail in:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/The-outstanding-Hatchery-Bug/
TL;DR version: fix will be in next week’s content update.
I apologize if my reply seemed curt, but I’m trying to funnel people towards one thread so I don’t have to spend all day updating multiple threads with info.
I haven’t been able to reproduce the bug, but I did some minor revisions to the story step to try and make it more reliable. It will be updated in next week’s big content patch. As a side note, did you die and retry at any point?
