The update only affected Chapters 7 and 8. Also, there’s no need to join and accept the storyline of an OoW member—unless you follow the storyline of another player’s Order again, things will return to your default Order storyline once you complete the current chapter.
I’m saying, I believe the mail will arrive when you hit L30.
What level are you? If you’re under L30, the next chapter is locked. On hitting 30, I suspect everything will work correctly again.
What level is your character? You’ve done the last step of Chapter 2, once you reach L30 it will unlock Chapter 3 and should send the mail.
“Blast from the Past” progresses to “Victory or Death” if you’ve already done “Against the Corruption.” If you haven’t you’ll need to do that story arc, then it will finish out with “Victory or Death.” It sounds like the Wiki is only accounting for the current structure (where “Against the Corruption” is in Chapter 7) and doesn’t account for cases like yours, where you were on a step that got moved around. I don’t understand what steps you think you have to repeat.
Some story steps were moved around between Chapter 7 and 8. You won’t have to repeat any steps, you’re just over-levelled for the steps that are now in Chapter 7. One you finish the Chapter 7 storyline, you’ll be back in Chapter 8 where you left off.
There’s a fix in testing right now, I can’t give an ETA on when it reach live, but it has been addressed. As you mentioned, the story step works fine solo, but will stall with 2+ players.
Somehow you skipped past a tripwire and you’re not on the final step.
The objective in the screenshot is “Escape from the burning ark.” On reaching a tripwire that’s in the stairway of the main deck, it switches to “Get to the ark’s highest point.” and that’s when it will indicate the top deck and signal the chopper rescue when you reach the top. I don’t know if you used a skill to teleport past the tripwire, or rushed ahead and got ahead of the story step, but if you run back down and go down the stairs from the main deck, it should update the objective.
What level is your character? If you’re under L80, Chapter 8 is locked. Previously, it was possible to do some of the Chapter 8 steps at lower levels, but they’ve all been boosted to L80 and unlock at once.
Oh, you FINISHED the fear storyline, sorry I missed that. That means you’re on Chapter 8, which unlocks at L80.
What level is your character? Chapter 3 will unlock at L30.
What level us your character? Chapter 7 unlocks at L70, so it’s likely the character is below the (new) storyline level.
Another update… We’re testing a fix right now, but as usual I can’t give an ETA since it still has to go through QA for confirmation before it’s put into a Live update.

It’s a hoax to get you to submit your account credentials. We don’t send warnings.
I have a level 49 character that I play infrequently. I noticed today that I no longer have a green star on the map and my personal story is no longer showing int he content guide. WTF? Why should I have to track down obscure parts of release notes to continue playing the game? This is KITTENED!
As mentioned in the update notes, the stories are now in “chapters” that unlock every 10 levels. Once you hit L50 the next story chapter will unlock.
Just wanted to pop in to say that we’re investigating this. It’s too early for me to say when we expect to roll out a fix, but we have folks looking at the issue.

Switching maps, or logging out and back in, should resend any mail that the story step is waiting for. As usual, make sure there’s plenty of space in your mailbox, or the story mail will get held up.
The story steps were moved to chapters that unlock every 10 levels, you were probably on a story step that’s now unlocked in Chapter 3 (L30.) Once you reach L30, it’ll appear.
Go to the “Materials” section of your bank, the miniatures have their own section after all the crafting materials. To add the mini to your wardrobe for use by all characters on the account, withdraw it, then right-click the mini in your inventory and select “Add to Wardrobe.” This will consume the mini and add it to your wardrobe.
(You will probably need to do this for each character.)
I just started chapter 8 before the patch. Since some steps were moved to chapter 7, am I going to skip them?
No, the story script will recognize that you’re on Ch8 but did not complete the steps that moved to Ch7, and they will occur where they used to in Ch8.

All of the drops were moved to the end-of-story rewards, so we could provide more predictable/consistent rewards. (This also prevents some story steps from being more profitable simply because they have more enemies to fight.)
Aha, thanks! Yes, that kind of info is very important. I’ll try again tomorrow.
Each storyline is one chapter long. So at the end of the chapter, it will look at your character to determine the next storyline, unless you accept another character’s progress/decisions again.
You will return to the “normal” storyline for your character on completion of the current storyline (not story step), assuming you don’t do the final step with a character from another order and accept their progress/decisions. This is so two players can go through the story together if they wish—it warns you that accepting progress at the end of the story step will accept ALL choices made by the other character.
So, I have a guildie who was on what used to be a Ch7 story part and now it is in 8. does that mean he misses out on what used to be in between?
No, though your question confuses me. No story steps moved from Chapter 7 to Chapter 8—just the opposite.
Shouldn’t there be a warning in the patch notes: if you are doing this arc your progress will be wiped out
If you were on the storyline pre-patch, you’ll still be on it post-patch. (Thought it might not be visible until you reach L70, since it’s in Chapter 7.)
From the update notes:
Chapter 7 is now focused on helping Trahearne cleanse Orr.
Chapter 8 is now focused on defeating Zhaitan.

The story steps that were in Ch8 that involved helping Trahearne with his wyld hunt have been moved to Ch7.
One comparison might be a half hour TV show that comes on every week, versus a DVD boxed set of an entire season that comes out every 6 months or so. Previously the story steps were set up so each one was about 3 levels apart, which meant that a single storyline had a lot of breaks in between steps (if you wanted to do each step at the level it specified.) Now there’s a bigger gap between storylines, but each storyline is playable without level breaks.
No, you don’t have to repeat any story steps.
What level is your character? “Stealing Secrets” is part of the L40 storyline, so it might not be available yet.
Every 10 levels a new storyline is unlocked. Previously the story steps would look like:
L3, L5, L7, L9,L10 for a storyline.
Now they’re:
L10, L10, L10, L10, L10.
They end at the same level, but now require you to be L10 to do the entire storyline. Previously, a lot of players found it very frustrating to have to interrupt the story steps to level up constantly to keep up.
There is no veteran destroyer. It’s a series of Destroyer Crablings and Crabs.
From the update notes:
Personal story steps have been more clearly broken up into chapters that unlock every 10 levels so that each chapter can be played through immediately once it’s unlocked.
You might have been on a story step that is now in a chapter that isn’t unlocked yet. It’ll be visible once you reach the correct level.
What’s your current objective? No content changes were made to that story step, so I’m not sure what’s happening on your end that doesn’t happen to me. I’ve run through that step multiple times now.
The final story chapter unlocks at L80.
It will unlock at L60. No progress has been lost. The L48 step used to be the start of a storyline that ran from L48-L59, but they’re all now part of the L60 chapter unlock, so you don’t have to level up between every step.
I just ran through the entire story step with no problems. Are you 100% sure there isn’t another destroyer? One might have run behind an object while fighting the skritt. There are multiple waves of destroyers—over 40 in total.
It will unlock at L60. Each storyline was grouped together so that it can be done at once, and they unlock every 10 levels, instead of having each step at a different level.
Once you hit L60 it will unlock all of the quests for that storyline. No progress is lost. (So if you had already done some of the steps for that storyline, they’ll show as completed.) The two low level characters will unlock the next storyline at L20.
Do you remember the name of the story step? What level is your character? It’s possible that you’re too low of a level with the new chapter structure. (Every 10 levels it unlocks all the story steps in one storyline.)
You need to go the camp site and actually look around. It doesn’t complete immediately on entering the circle—you need to spend some time in the area (5s or so) to complete the objective.
What’s your current quest step? Zrii stealths when you enter the ruins, and doesn’t return until after you’ve secured the 3 researchers and encounter a blocked path. From the sound of it, you’ve run ahead to the researchers without completing the step before it (“Search the area for survivors.”)
Have you completed the map before? When new POIs or other content is added, it can drop your completion percentage, but if you already received the reward for completing it, you don’t get another one.
